The biggest reason for our switch was availability and the fact that it is simply a month-to-month commitment. Another big plus is that if my child exceeds the expectations of a particular level they can be moved up during the month, they aren't stuck for a season. The facilities are large and very clean. I really enjoy the large viewing space the parents have to choose from - either pool side or in the air conditioning behind the wall-to-wall glass. The plentiful changing rooms are a bonus as are the showers. The staff has always been very welcoming and kind to myself and our kids and are quick to greet new families. There have been a handful of occasions where they've had fun activities for non-swimming siblings to partake in while lessons are going to the swimming sibling. I really appreciate the child-to-swim coach ratio and how organized the entire operation is. My only hesitation to give five stars is the availability of classes before 5pm. The earliest lessons available M-F are at 3:30pm and lessons are every 30minutes after that (4pm, 4:30pm, etc). Once your child moves up to a certain skill level available times get later, like 5pm or after. Our son moved up a level during the summer and originally there were no M-F time slots available at all and when one did open up it was at 6 or 6:30pm which is dinnertime for our family. Our son was in his last month of swim classes so we opted to have him just stay in the same level instead of graduating up, but it was disappointing. I have referred friends to Big Blue and will continue to do so. It really is a great swim school and I am grateful we had such a good experience with them over the last year.

I only understood what happened after I went searching and eventually found SafeSplash's Terms & Conditions / School Policies page. That page is not obvious from the location or pricing section; you either have to notice a generic "School Policies" link in the footer or go hunting via search. Once you get there, the key billing information is buried deep in a long, legal‑style document, written in dense policy language instead of clear, parent‑friendly English. Buried in that text is the explanation that they take your first month of tuition at enrollment and then bill monthly on the 25th for the following month's lessons. That policy might be acceptable if it were plainly disclosed where parents actually sign up. The problem--and the reason for this review--is how hard it is to discover and understand these terms before you see a charge.
