4/24/14 We were very pleased with the entire process of having our driveway and walkway redone by Vergara Construction aka Vergara Concrete (now at 4105 - 23rd St., Sacramento, CA 95822) using state-of-the-art equipment for a fair and reasonable price. We were able to communicate on a daily basis very well with Luis Vergara about every single little detail on our project. He always explained things as carefully and thoroughly as he could and listened very well to all our concerns and input. He never once made us feel like our questions and concerns were unnecessary. He did all the work that we asked him to do in a timely manner and did not leave a big mess at the end. All of his crew interacted with us well and worked hard on our project which looks great. Our old driveway had about 12-14 very big cracks (1" to 1 1/2" high) caused by root damage and was an extreme trip hazard. The old driveway only had 2 crack control joints and had no rebar or wire mesh in the foundation. Our new driveway has 8 crack control joints, wire mesh reinforcement, two 12" concrete trench root barriers, and we added a beautiful brick accent for aesthetics which we feel was well worth the extra dollars. This is the third job we have contracted with Vergara Construction. One was a patio at my fathers house. Luis and his team poured the job to perfection. Since my father was elderly he included a progressive slope from the two french doors to avoid a trip hazard. The second was a Hollywood drive and RV pad....Not only did they complete the project on time but they cleaned up so well we had very little to do but wet the concrete until it cured. These two projects were in 2015 and are still flawless. This last job was just as satisfying. Three different areas to pour. They spent one and a half days digging and preparing the sites, putting in forms the next day and the pour went off perfect. Luis, Alex and the other two gentlemen who worked this job were all hardworking, polite and every day they cleaned up before they left the yard. I will use them again if I need another pour. The work on all occasions was professional and done to perfection. We were on site most of the time and Luis was open to all our questions and asked for our input. If a change was requested he was accommodating and complied without objection. We WILL use Vegara in the future. read more

Luis (the owner) set out to provide me a quote and failed to show up. Then he offered to reschedule for the weekend, we agreed on Sunday. Sunday came and he never showed up. I contacted him several times and left voice mails and he never got back to me. I'm glad this business flaked early on before committing to anything rather than during the process of getting the job done. I guess its true what they say about contractors "they are all bad". I read the reviews and was excited to find what I thought would be a good experience, but I'm afraid not. I would not recommend Vergara Construction even if they paid me, they are flakes! read more

His team was very professional and worked with us to get through some unforseen issues that come up during big projects but kept the job on schedule and I was very impressed with his crew that did the finishing work. This is a follow up to my previous review. The concrete on my driveway has began to "lift"to the tune of over 1/2 above the existing driveway. The result is my existing driveway is crumbling because they put dowels in the old driveway to support the new poured driveway. I have had over 5 missed appointments from the owner of the company. I have filed a claim with the BBB, the Contractors State License Board and I have a lawsuit all prepared to file. After numerous conversations with the owners representative, I can not get them out here to even look at their sub par work. I will be suing this firm. Beware is all I can say. It seems once your check cashes they disappear. Never again! I wish I could attach the photos I have for all to see. read more

I had to take the owner, Luis Vergara to court for shoddy work and won thecase which he appealed and lost again. Still refusing to pay, I had to get the $10,280 from his bonding company. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more
