I will never set foot in this store again ... I have always had pretty positive experiences with verizon but my most recent leaves a bad taste in my mouth to this day ... I had a complicated question that I had tried to solve over the phone three times prior with no resolution so I wanted to deal with in person. the guy helping me (who was a manager) took an instant attitude with me and kept sighing loudly and rolling his eyes and telling me to call the verizon number. as I tried to explain my issue he did not even listen and kept telling me he would not bend store policies for me (funny, how when I went to a different store -- there was no problem solving my issues and magically these store policies did not exist). I know he was not the reason I was on my fourth time dealing with this issue but I think he could have been at least a little diplomatic. He ended up basically yelling at me in front of a store full of people at which point I left and went to the store in cambridgeside galleria. there are some very nice and helpful associates in this store location -- but there are also other locations very close by that I now use. avoid if you can. read more

Do not, I repeat, do NOT buy your phone from this store. THIS IS NOT A VERIZON STORE. VERIZON DOES NOT GUARANTEE OR REPLACE ANYTHING THEY SELL HERE. And, they sell broken and used equipment as new, which means Verizon will only give you a used one to replace them when they break down. It should be illegal to put Verizon Wireless as the name of the store since Verizon is not affiliated with this store. Just, they will set up an account with Verizon for you (with a crappy phone) I just bought a Galaxy Nexus 6 weeks ago and noticed that a) there were lines on the screen b) the antenna isn't as good as my Motorola Droid - the GPS takes 5 minutes to kick in c) the phone doesn't make much sound even at top noise levels. d) the battery only lasts 4 hours (the extended battery). I just thought it was what you get with a Galaxy Nexus. The sales guy was super nice. But when the screen went bezerk last week I realized I was sold a bum phone. Guess what - too late to get my money back! After 6 weeks! Too late to get a new phone to replace it! What? After 6 weeks it turns to crap and I only get a used phone? Even though they must have known they sold me a lemon, because they should know how these things work? I get a "like new" replacement from Verizon over the phone (yes, to replace a brand-new phone just weeks later with a used one is called SWINDLING) but the screen is better, the sound is louder, the GPS kicks in right away. So now I am CERTAIN that they knew they sold me a lemon! Oh, and they tried to make it sound like I must have damaged the phone. There isn't a nick or a scratch on that phone anywhere, it looks exactly like it did the day I bought it. I took pictures just in case, too. I don't trust these guys. read more

I am writing this review based on my past experiences with this store. I have been at this location about 3 separate times and all have been phenomenal. I came in to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon, and I must mention that the entire time I was being transferred was as efficient as possible. The sales representatives are completely respectful and thrilling to be around. They make you feel like you are in their home, and it's such a wonderful experience. The prices are a little overwhelming, but that is what you get for dealing with the best wireless provider in the industry. Definitely wouldn't want to deal with anyone else. read more

I would have given this store a 1 star review except the second associate I worked with saved the day. The first man I spoke to was Uka. He was AWFUL. Truly incompetent. I was in the store for an hour while he attempted to set up my new iPhone and transfer my old iPhone contents to the new one. He completely screwed up my phone and then told me it was an apple issue and I should go there. I did go to apple and they told me Verizon screwed up my phone. I went back to this store and tried to explain to Uka he did not set up my phone correctly and he was incredibly rude. I almost left before another associate named Will was able to correct the other associates mistakes and set up my phone. He started from scratch and it took 15 min max start to finish. He was great. Fire the other guy... he has no clue what he's doing and he's giving your store a really bad name. read more

Don't Buy a Tablet! Last year I purchased a new phone and two year contract. Verizon offered a free tablet with the phone but I would have to pay $10 a month for the extra line. I figured, why not? Bad call. The tablet never worked well. It was slow and the battery died very quickly. I barely ever used it because it was such a pain. After a year of next to no use, it lost the ability to charge at all. A question mark would just pop up. So I finally brought it into the store. They tell me, it's not an easy fix and the warranty is up. Then I ask if I could stop paying the $10 monthly charge for the remainder of my contract. Verizon says sure, we will remove that charge. They remove it and then notify me that the removal fee is $135.00! I'm like thats more than it costs to keep the line for the remainder of the 10 month contract ($100). I had them put it back on my plan. So after 2 years, Verizon will collect $240 from me to keep a line for a tablet that never worked properly. That borders on theft. Store in back bay is very clean and well organized. The staff was incredible nice and helpfull. However, lets be honest, the minimum wage staff doesnt write Verizon's policies. Some soulless jerk at the top does so he can live a lavish wealthy life with his 1% friends. I'm 33, been with Verizon well over 15 years. Maybe even 20 years. I can promise you, they love to screw their customers to make the allmighty dollars for a few. 10 more months until I switch to another carrier. Good riddens evil greedy Verizon, you're off my horizontal plane. What a joke, you airwave controllers are. You monopolized the air! Burn in hell, demons! read more

Wow. What more can I say about this store. My experience was fantastic! I was a bit worried after reading the reviews, but it just goes to show you that you can't believe everything you read from people like Claire. The moment I walked into the store, I was greeted by Nathan with a solid handshake and a warm smile. Instantly, I knew I was in good hands. After a bit of small talk, we got down to business. The night before, my phone had stopped working. I was unsure of the problem, and I was immediately given a solution to my problem. I was so happy to find out that I would be able to have my phone fixed. I even picked up a screen protector which has saved my now working phone may times. The welcoming nature of the staff at the Verizon Wireless store on Boylston was fantastic. Verizon Wireless has staffed itself with some of the brightest and most knowledgeable associates in the industry. I wholeheartedly advise Verizon Wireless customers, and customers dissatisfied with their current provider, to make a trip to the Verizon Wireless store on Boylston. I knowingly went into this store and knew it would be busy (I only live two blocks away). I entered my name in the queue and I had time to wait so I was fine with it. I went in for a phone cover for my Ally and screen protectors. There were only two options for the phone cover so I went for the one that wasn't ugly, but it was in fact red. OK. They were out of screen protectors so they said they would fedex them for free. Well, living in the city without a doorman poses a challenge to receive packages but figured I would get them in South Boston eventually. My fault that I waited over 2 weeks to go pick it up and Fedex informed me when I got there, they had already sent them back to Verizon. I went into the store to discuss this and they let me know their computer statesthe package was still in South Boston and I needed to talk to Fedex in order to get the refund. I tried to get them to call FedEx and they refused. I left the store after being there for 27 mins (don't ask me what I was thinking), called FedEx, they advised they could not give me the return tracking code, could only give it to Verizon. Called Verizon customer service, who told me I had to talk to the store. Called the Boylston St. store (could not have gone in person or I would have freaked out) and Jacob the store manager had known all about the conversation I was having with the CS agent and said he'd call Fedex. He called back later leaving a message that they did owe me a credit and I needed to call back with my cc#. I called back, he wasn't there, left message, still awaiting a response.... Too bad I love Verizon phone service....but will just use Wirefly.com from now on. They are so much cheaper. read more

Finally decided to switch carriers and go with Verizon. I hate going to these cell phone stores, but I had a surprisingly good experience here. The place can get busy, and my number got called just as I was debating leaving. The sales rep, Mike, came over and walked/talked me through everything I needed to know. I know these guys are probably told to 'sell, sell, sell', but Mike was genuine and actually really helpful. I'm a techie, own my own business and have never owned a cell phone in my life. Whaaat?! You'd think getting a service provider would be super easy. Who wouldn't want to help a brand new customer? More people than you'd think. I went to AT&T, Sprint, TMobile, Metro PCS, and even Verizon and got everything from: talking to me like I was stupid and trying to sell me the most outrageously expensive plan, or just not getting any help at all...to: "You don't own a cell phone...that's impossible, quit trying to be sneaky and just say who's your service provider." I decided to walk into a Verizon again, and there I met Tyshawn. At first, I thought he was the manager because he was so professional and respectful and helped me way, way, more than any sales people I'd met. He's awesome!! He helped me decide on the phone and plan that is perfect for right now! He spent time with me and I had the best experience. I'm on a monthly plan and will return to him for a new phone and contract very soon. I am now a Verizon customer...and it is all because of Tyshawn. I went to Verizon dreading what was to come. I was asked to give my name to an employee upon arrival and waited a quick 2 minutes maybe. I had recently been with another provider and wanted to switch over and I needed a new phone. Dustin was so helpful and patient with all my questions and lack of knowledge in regards to plans, usage, etc. He completely laid everything out for me, options and all. Took his time and covered all bases. Never once coming off as the used car salesmen, salesmen pitch. Which is what I had been dreading. I use yelp often but this is my first review, I was so pleased by my experience that I thought it was worthy of one. Even got my monthly bill down somewhat significantly. Thanks Dustin! Initially I met her in the Harvard location and was told she had moved to the newly constructed boylston store. In the 15 years that I have had service with Verizon wireless I have never received a more satisfactory transaction. From the first time I had worked with her she instilled the faith I once again have in the wireless industry. I rearranged my entire family plan, upgraded my fathers outdated flip phone and voluntarily left my unlimited data plan and even left with a tablet! Bought my iPhone 6 from Verizon 13 months ago, battery was faulty, phone kept dying. Had an appt with Apple but decided to stop into Verizon on the way. The guy who helped me had the thickest accent and seemed unfocused and uninterested. He told me that I DON'T have AppleCare so I'd have to upgrade to the 7 and the costs would roll over OR I could replace this phone with the exact same phone from Apple and would have to pay Verizon almost $500 because I'd be getting it from Apple, not Verizon. Told him I'd think about it and see what Apple had to say. Apple told me that, YES, I actually do have AppleCare and that they would replace the phone with the EXACT SAME PHONE, free of charge. Free of charge. The guy at Verizon sucked. No way to sugar coat it. When I bought my phone, the guy who helped me then was great BUT I also left that time feeling like I'd just been taken for a ride from a slick car dealership. But, as I said, that guy was super nice, super knowledgeable, and attentive. It's very obvious that everyone who works at Verizon is supposed to deliver on some kind of quota. All about the numbers and less about the people and forget about integrity. Save yourself a headache and buy your phone from Apple. read more

Disclaimer that I went in on a Monday morning- I'm sure it is much busier on weekends. I had a problem with my iPhone that was making weird noses, drawing rectangles around images on the phone, wouldn't shut down, wouldn't open with password. I was instantly greeted by the employee (SO sorry I didn't ask his name), he identified the problem as a voice recognition glitch, explained the issue to me and corrected it (reset by pressing the home button 3 times) all in less than two minutes. I was not treated like an idiot and I got my problem solved efficiently and easily. Thank you!!! read more

Went here for a meet and greet for Julian Edelman. Worst experience of my life. I know I got there a little late around 5ish and I completely understand you guys will not have wristbands for everyone. Someone from the store shouted out "Come into the store for wristbands we might have some more." I waited patiently and there were still none. I asked for wristbands three times. After the third time instead of the staff being sympathetic for me since I couldn't get a wristband the staff was beyond happy I left which was very rude. Horrible experience. Prior to going to store to purchase a new phone I decided to do some research on the Verizon website. When I walked into the store, I was immediately helped due to being very slow (little over an hour before closing). I told the salesman that was helping me the name of the smartphone and plan I was looking to purchase. The salesman started trying to sell bundle package, phone case, etc. I politely told the salesman no thank you. He proceeded to try to push a little bit more and the store manager overheard and came over to the area we were standing. The manager told me that "store was slow tonight" and that he could "work out a deal so that you get a phone cover for free but that you cannot tell any of your friends". Again, politely said no thanks. Manager insisted that I at least look at what he has to offer. His "offer" included me paying more than the advertised price (both online and in store) for the phone to make up the cost of the phone cover. When I questioned him on the price knowing what the price should have been he started stumbling and trying to back track. He even tried to say that the advertised price in his store and online was not incorrect. Needless to say, I walked out without purchasing anything. I will defiantly not be making any future purchases at this store. Unbelievable. read more

Several staff devoted a good hour and a half to me to help me get the best price for my service, and to help me flawlessly upgrade. Although they suggested devices and accessories, I didn't feel that they pushed them on me at all. Firstly, and I mean this seriously, please don't touch me. Even if you're leading me somewhere (the very back of the store....). All I wanted to do was see how much it would be to upgrade my iPhone (which I started off the conversation with) and while I totally understand how commissions work, I also understand how "taking no for an answer" works. No, I don't want to spend $175 on an iPad mini. No, please don't tell me that "I can sell it and spend the money on something else." I must say, my experience was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. This review is directed towards Ryan on Jan 25th, 2015 around 5pm. I had an issue with an iphone 5 I had recently purchased, and technicians from both Verizon, and the company that had made the iphone, had me running around in both directions (they were both on the same street). I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET A TECHNICIAN TO LOOK AT MY PHONE!. Then I had the pleasant experience of meeting Ryan. He was very calm and well spoken, even though the store was obviously packed. He admitted he was busy, but he let me know that I could call Verizon directly over the phone, and if the problem wasn't fixed, he could help me when he was finished serving other customers. I called Verizon, and they put me on hold. Miraculously, he had aided two new, entirely separate customers activate their accounts and activate their phones, and then he was able to solve my problem, all before Verizon over the phone had even picked up my call! I came in last night to upgrade my basic phone, which was dying 6 months before I was eligible for an upgrade, to a smartphone. PT did a fantastic job of helping me out. By the time I left he not only restructured my family's plan to reduce our monthly costs, but he also went out of his way to make sure I kept the same number on my new phone. There was a lot to do, and he was patient and friendly throughout the whole very lengthy process. I couldn't ask for a better customer service experience. read more

Whoever waited on my daughter this evening definitely thought they saw a sucker coming. Well, she ended up walking out! Shame on the CSR who didn't say anything until the end of the transaction, and then told her that she HAD to upgrade at $300.00. Totally false. I will be calling to speak to a supervisor about this CSR, as I have been on the phone with Verizon today for a total of 3-4 hours trying to get this mess resolved. Shame on the CSR for not taking the next step to resolve the issue, when I could resolve it online with the three FANTASIC Verizon reps (Tiffany, Tagel & Ryan). This guy should learn to sell better, and have more training! I feel that his commission is definitely better on a $300.00 sale, than an upgrade sale. Am I correct? DO NOT SIGN UP FOR VERIZON INTERNET! Verizon treats customers like cockroaches. We are clearly an annoyance. Please note that this is a review of Verizon high speed internet, not this particular store. If I could give Verizon a zero star rating I would. We have had appalling service from them for years. Every time there is any construction/manhole work within blocks of our house in Belmont our service goes out, with a multi day delay in a service call. The last straw was today, a six day wait for an appointment with no internet service at all, scheduled and confirmed multiple times by automated text for an 8 a.m to 12 window; there has been no call, no response to multiple texts. Finally got through at 2 p.m. to a human being who said "oh maybe by 8 p.m." No text? No call?? Miss a whole day of work for these jokers who treat customers like cockroaches? What a travesty. They clearly knew well before noon that they couldn't get here on time but didn't bother to call or text. And I bet you anything they still don't fix it at 8 tonight if they even bother to show up. I've had it and am moving to Comcast. These folks are just arrogant, incompetent, and couldn't care less about customer service. read more
