I accepted a promotional offer from Verizon for a free iPad and an iPhone. This came with a three year service commitment to transfer my mobile account from Spectrum to Verizon. Clarifying point- I had been an Android user for my entire life and understood that I would be faced with a learning curve. THE ACTION: The purpose of my visit to the Verizon store on Las Posas in Camarillo was twofold, 1) To see an iPad13" as I was considering an upgrade from an 11" to 13" . 2) To get help locating my outstanding account balance in the "Wallet" feature on the iPhone. I had already viewed instructions online with no success. THE EXPERIENCE: I was optimistic when I entered the store because there were no customers and three representatives present. As I entered the store no one asked how they could help me, nor did they acknowledge my presence by looking up from what they were doing. I approached a large man sitting at a counter and asked if I could see an iPad and he shrugged and looked over to a wall. I asked if it was an 11" or 13" and he said that he thought it was an 11". I asked if they had a 13" that I could see, he said that I would have to go to an Apple Store. I told him that I had a question about my iPhone and asked if he could help me? He asked about my question and never looked up from what he was doing. I told him that I needed help locating my outstanding account balance in the "Wallet" feature. He looked over his shoulder and asked one of the women sitting at a desk. She got up to leave the room and as she walked out, with voice fading, she offered instructions. I asked the large man "what did she say" and he said "I don't know," again, never looking up from what he was doing. I told him to forget about the question, thanked him and began to leave. As I was walking out he hollered that "I should "learn how to use Google." I responded with "you should learn customer service skills." He continued to make disrespectful comments as the door closed. I recently learned that this store is independently owned and not held to the same standards as the corporate stores. Frankly, I have always thought that all Verizon stores were held to the same high standards of service, until now. It appears to this consumer, that staff at such stores are not held accountable for the manner in which they treat customers and perhaps that is why they were disrespectful and treated me as if I were "invisible." I am 72 years old and have never experienced such disrespect. I ask, had I been younger would I have been treated differently? Would you have tolerated your parent/ parents being treated like this? Would YOU tolerate such an interaction? THE OUTCOME: I have shared this experience with everyone one that I know, young and old, and hope you will do the same. read more

The absolute worst customer service and experience. I'm warning you now. Went in to pick up my online order only to find out they sold it the day before. My 3 days were not up (have to pick up within 3 days) & they sold it anyway! The guy even working looked so confused when he tried to open the safe where the phone was supposed to be. Manager USELESS!! A girl - who even knows the name because they don't wear name tags. Come to find out they put my order as "picked up" so now my account shows I have the phone when I clearly do not! Called Verizon and spoke to 7 representatives to get this sorted out. Still at the end of the day it's showing up as I have the new phone when I Indeed did not pick it up. Came in here the other day to pickup an item I ordered. It was the only Verizon shop that had it in stock, so that way I could get it the same day. On average, it takes about an hour or so for pickup orders to be fulfilled, in all of my experiences doing them at numerous stores over the years. Well...an hour passed, no email. So I thought I'd call them to check on it. Not that I had to have it THAT second, but as mentioned, I've done more than enough pickup orders to know how long they take. Immediately, due to the background noise, I knew whoever answered wasn't in the store itself. They actually route their calls elsewhere. I've worked in shops just like this in the past...you really can't answer your own phones? It's not that hard to attend to customers and to take quick calls for basic things, such as store hours or checking if something is in stock. Anyway, all the guy told me was "you'll get an email when it's ready." Yeah, I knew that already. Three more hours pass. Still no email, as I predicted. So I call again. I get the same useless apology saying I'll get notified when it's ready and that they're probably very busy. When I argued that it shouldn't take four hours, he couldn't put me through to someone actually IN the store to verify, so I hung up and drove over there. So I walk in. Three employees, all playing on their phones, no customers. Safe to say they weren't busy enough to not be able to answer their own calls or have gotten my order ready hours beforehand. Maybe if they set it up to route them if no one answers and they're all slammed, sure. That would make more sense. But to not be able to talk to a person in the store at all? That's definitely not optimal, and judging by the reviews, I'm not the first person to have had this issue. Someone in a call center obviously can't do things such as verifying stock, check if an order pickup is ready, etc. Anyway, they were nice enough and I still got my stuff that day. Hence why I'm not giving only one star. But assuming I get the generic "we're sorry you were unhappy, please let us know how we can do better" response: it's already written above. Be more attentive to customers, and, believe it or not, it is possible to take quick calls and work with people in person at the same time. And of course, as soon as I picked it up, I got the text saying it was ready. So it makes me wonder if it would've even been fulfilled at all, had I not gone over there, despite being told otherwise over the phone from the rep probably thousands of miles away to not show up until I got notified. read more

Beware! I spent almost 3 hours here activating a new phone. I was charged a set up fee and taxes on my new device, only to find out later that Verizon was also charging me an activation fee, insurance at $17 a month that I have never asked for and the promotional pricing on the phone apparently wouldn't be reflected. So my first bill came out to $184 for a single line per month. Verizon is unable to access this company's billing, they are not Verizon they are a third-party. Good luck knowing what you are signing for as you are not presented with that information before you sign. In the documentation they provide after they capture your signature, you are agreeing to arbitration, restocking fees, and ridiculous finance fees through Victra, not Verizon should you decide you made an awful decision getting a phone and service here. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. My phone was HACKED at this location. Do not shop here. They are a third party location NOT an actual corporate Verizon store. Avoid them at all costs. They don't check ID. This location charged 3 iPhones to my account and allowed a hacker to take over my Verizon account to get the sale. My identity and cell phone # was stolen. It was a nightmare. All of this happened because they failed to check a valid government ID that matched with my Verizon account. Sales associates at this location make commission. They are incentivized to make money based on retail SALES of products so they don't actually care about the customer. read more

I went in to trade in my phone for the new iPhone and the lady completely changed my service plan to make it seem like they were "trying to save us money" but pretty much just changed my plan to the most basic plan. Then added a protection plan she did not mention and added to our line. She said the items included with the phone was the wall adapter and other things but she charged us for it. Went home and saw she never gave us a receipt for anything we paid for. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would! First off, this is not really verizon, dont let them fool you!! This scammer told me he couldn't activate my new phone. He then deactivated my current phone and told me to go to the real verizon store in oxnard to activate my new one. I go to oxnard, without an active phone, and they say this guy has been sending people there and they can't help! She immediately knew which store sent me there and said "you came from the camarillo store huh?" They ended up calling verizon HQ and complaining about this "authorized reseller" saying he's completely screwing people! Finally, after an hour there, the real verizon store finally figures out a workaround to activate my new phone. The real verizon tells me to check my receipt from the store, but of course the dude never gave me one. They say he probably charged me an erroneous set up fee. Sure enough, I have an email and this guy charged me a $39.99 set up and go fee for the 2 minutes it took him to DEACTIVATE ALL MY PHONES. they are NOT a real verizon and they are a complete scam!!!!! Seriously beware, do not go here! I have emailed them twice, and texted them twice, demanding a refund. No response of course. I will be doing a chargeback and they will see me in person very soon. The manager, Jeremy Hunter at the Camarillo store provided amazing service and attention to my phone needs and my daughters. He was very professional, and provided very viable options. He also had a great dry sense of humor. I have researched options for upgrading my phone and he provided many options. My daughter's phone was stolen and he provided the best options for her as well. I hope that by leaving this review it will save someone from experiencing what I did at this location. I initially went into the store to get help with some troubleshooting for my daughter's phone. After over an hour we both end up with new phones. The meat of this review is revealing how tricky and deceitful the sales associate team is and can be when selling the products. Our initial conversation was confirmed I would only be paying for the taxes on the phone. Then he said the accessories are "included" in the price and something about a coupon. Well, it's not. "Included in the price" means their version and not what the customer views as "included in the price" when I think of that term it means me paying no extra costs than the price of the item. Their version is the price quoted, which was never quoted to me. Bottom line, I faulted by not standing my ground and denying any accessories knowing they charge 10x more than anywhere else. Before I knew it I had a screen protector, a case I didn't want and a wall adapter for two phones totaling $302 minus a $35 coupon. It's a racquet!!! I feel the associates were deceitful in the way they sell their products, being the true stereotypical salesman and just wanting the sale. So much more happened with this experience when I discovered my plan was changed and now was paying more even though I asked him five times I would have the same coverage for no more than I was already paying. I had to deal with that with Verizon and that call took over an hour. To sum it up, I don't suggest shopping at this location however the same type of sales associates are everywhere. First, all of the employees that work there are employees of another company. They are paid commission. I went to the store to find out about internet. The guy checked my address and told me that I will get 5G and 500MB service. He said that if I don't like it, bring it back to the store within 45 days and they will remove it from my bill. I brought it home and ran a speedtest and I got 80MB. I went back to the store to return it. The young lady that worked there told me she couldn't help me and to call 611. I asked if she could help me and she said no, call 611. Another employee, John came over and told me he could help. I just want to thank the team in this store for helping me decide to switch to T-Mobile. When I arrived there was only one other customer in the store. I was told by one of the two employees that I would be helped shortly. After about 5 minutes a third employee came in and asked (the other employees) if I needed help. They told her no, so she went back to playing with her phone. After 20 minutes several other customers entered the store and were immediately helped by the third employee. At that point I informed the first employee, without raising my voice, that I was leaving because I had waited 20 minutes while 2 employees sat doing nothing and other customers who entered the store after me were helped immediately. Rather than offer any sort of apology at this point, he simply said that I had no reason to be upset and he was about to help me now. I asked to speak to a manager and he claimed to be the manager. I am assuming that the he wanted the commission or something so he didn't want someone else to help me. I left and went to the T-Mobile store by Home Depot and received excellent customer service switching my 3 lines away from Verizon. read more

My wife needed a new phone so she went into the Verizon store on Las Posas in Camarillo. The salesman was very helpful. He told my wife we could get two iPhones for the price of one, $800. I came down to the store to get a phone also. He also said because we are long loyal Verizon customers we can get a free iPad. I said OK as long as I don't need cell service and he said I didn't. We paid off our phones and purchased screen savers, cases and new chargers for a total around $1200. When I received my Verizon bill and looked at my account on line I found I am on the hook for 36 months of financing my second two for one phone, and over $400 for my free iPad. In addition I have $20 month cell service for my iPad which I do not need. The guy turned out to be a slick salesman who totally deceived us. Buyer beware and don't trust this store. read more

Of i could of give this place zero stars! Went there to pick up a phone and tablet that I had ordered. When I got there there was only 1 employee already helping a customer, sounded like it was some kind of issue with the phone. He then said his system was not working and couldn't help me. He said said to come back another time. He was rude and lacked customer service skills. Beware! I walked in to buy a phone charger and the guy tried to tell me they were more than what was on the price tag. It really felt like he was just naming his own price which was more than the price tag. When I pointed it out, he said "well they just made a mistake and put the wrong prices on these", I asked him if he could at least honor the price on the price tag. He refused and said he didn't have the power to. He seemed lazy, shady, and rude much like the description given in other posts concerning sales practices at this store. His attempt to charge me more than the price on the tag is unethical, and unprofessional. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The employees are rude, and act as if they're doing you a favor by "helping" you (and I use "helping" VERY liberally). There are often 2 employees working with the same people, even though they have a shop full of customers. The manager will see you waiting, and look away quickly, pretending that he hasn't seen you at all, while the employees will snap at you and throw you dirty looks. They give convoluted information that is more often than not incorrect, and essentially waste your time. If you're working with a representative and you walk away from them even slightly, good luck getting them to help you again without a 45 minute wait *AGAIN* (because lord knows, you've waited at least that long in the first place). Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the bloody plague. read more

I came to this location to return my phone in store as a trade in. The service I received was unacceptable. They didn't even open my account at all to assist me. I told the in store person what the issue was and he could care less. He said there was nothing he could do to help me because the trade in had to be completed at a corporate store. My response was, how is the customer supposed to know this is a franchise and non corporate. This has the Verizon flag so you should be able to assist me. He told me I had to go all the way to the next city for assistance. I'm furious at both Verizon and this location lack of assistance and service. If a company has as broad a reach as Verizon they should support their franchises in being able to be fully functional as a location to hold their name. To add the gentlemen who greeted me as I was walking in was vaping directly in front of the store before entering to assist me. From the entire experience I would not recommend this store because they cannot help you as they do not function like a corporate store, and they show absolutely no care or concern for the customer. I spent over 1k on a new phone and for that "value" I'm not getting the run around from every aspect in order to trade in my device because no one in the company from over the phone sales person to customer service to sales floor seems to know how to effectively assist their customers. I'm disgusted and disappointed at the company and this location. Wouldn't recommend any of it. If Verizon didn't pretty much hold a monopoly over all service providers in the area for broadest service they'd have no customers with providing this terrible of service. Furious. read more
