Well, I went to this location today to purchase an iPhone. All I wanted was to walk in, buy my iPhone outright and walk out, and for the most part that was accomplished. HOWEVER, here is where my experience went south. I currently have an awesome plan with Verizon that they no longer sell. its 24gb of uncapped speed date, with an additional 50% due to fios bundle AND rollover data. I burn through data because im always on the run commuting and what not so I use all of it. My plan is $5 less than the unlimited plan, which technically isn't "unlimited" because after 20-22gb's are used they cap your speed (no thanks.) So while purchasing my phone the sales person asked if I would like to pay 5$ more a month to move to unlimited... I said no thanks, and explained I don't want my speeds capped after 20gbs. I live in a high traffic area so it wouldn't work for me. No issues, get my phone and then am about to leave when his manager comes over. Again, tries to pitch me on the unlimited data plan. No thanks I tell him again. Tries to explain it to me as if I don't know what it is, which ok, we haven't talked so I get it, but still I don't want it. I leave the store, and not a minute later I have receive a text message from Verizon that 12gb/month has been removed from my data plan?!?! Um WHAT? I get home, check my email, and now I also have been signed up to be billed 13.99/month for a total mobile protection plan! WHICH I WAS NOT SOLICITED NOR DID I EVER AGREE TO. THATS ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICE. So I call up Verizon wireless customer service, and spend a solid 45 minutes having the nice women revert all the bulls*t changes that "miraculously" happened to my account. Coincidence that the second I purchase the phone and don't agree to their data plan changes/sales pitch my account which has never had an issue before gets altered? I think not. Will be following up with this place, not happy. read more

I gave it 3 stars only because I knew they werent going to help me from the start. My son needed to activate his old phone since the one he was using broke. Because I'm not on his account nor is he on mine, they wouldn't do it. At least he explained how to do it myself. So cheers for that! read more

My review is for the company NOT THIS STORE! I have been a customer with Verizon wireless for 14 years, during my last upgrade/renewal they did NOT rollover my insurance...why would they, right? I have only carried insurance since the day I opened the account. My screen cracked on my IPHONE and I called to get the number to make a claim, come to find that they never rolled over my insurance, in fact they added it to another line on the account -my 10 year old daughters flip phone that cost $8. Instead of accepting responsibility for the mistake...they let a customer of 14 years go. You do the math 14 yrs. X's $75 - $210 a month in bills -that's is approx. 25k DOLLOARS always paid ON TIME. I am changing all 3 of my numbers over to AT&T, it's worth the $340 to get rid of a company that doesn't respect or care for their customers! read more

The stores sales team is encouraged to be liars and thieves' read all the reviews below. Stay away!!!!!! This stores management encourages the sales team to hustle you in to buying expensive accessories, by making you believe is part of a free promotional package. I was hustled by the scrawny, feminine, lipless sales kid mike. Be aware when getting an upgrade!! They will bring out pile of accessories that they say you are "getting free as part of the plan." They are not being honest, and you end up paying big time for all of it, if you don't read your receipt carefully. The management at the store promotes the dishonest sales tactic. Then makes a fast attempt to back up the salesmen's dishonest transaction than tries to justify the hustle by claiming "you need the accessories anyway." Bull shite! Everything you need for your upgrade comes in the box with the phone. (after wasting your time,) they will offer to let you return the stuff for a refund. And waste more of your time. Not good enough. Don't buy the very marked up accessories at a Verizon store. By the same stuff online and save big-time. Everything you need for your upgrade comes in the box with the phone. Shop around for upgrades at Costco, Best Buy, or a reputable dealer. They sometimes offer deals that do include FREE accessories. I'm not sure if the regional Verizon manager promotes this dishonest sales tactic. So pay attention when dealing with Verizon. read more

He did explain all of the options and add-ons available but he wasn't pushy at all which was extremely appreciated. I wish I could give negative or zero stars. This was my second visit to this location and I immediately told them I was there to get a new phone and add a line. I waited for maybe 10 minutes and the board said I was 6th in line. It was not moving very quickly. So I felt I could run to Apple to get replacement earbuds. That's usually done within 10 minutes for people with the protection plan. I told the guy I would be right back. I returned in about 10 minutes and I was 7th in line for SALES. I was not happy and asked the guy that checked us in and he said sometimes the system refreshes and gets like that then I looked at his iPad and it said I was waiting 2 minutes. He obviously thought I would take longer at Apple and moved me. I asked someone else and he came up with some other BS STORY. I said take me off the list and went to BEST BUY where there was NO LINE and I got 6 months free financing plus friendly sales people to boot. They are idiots for losing the sale. Never going there again. I then went to ATT to buy another phone and the one in Lake Grove next to Trader Joes is way friendlier and has phenomenal customer service. I'm sure they don't play any DIRTY GAMES like this VERIZON. read more

What a nightmare!!!! I went to Verizon for their "double the storage" event. I wanted to switch my new, unopened phone in for a phone with higher storage as advertised. When I got there and employee froze my account and locked the system. It took about an hour for them to figure out what happened and I was met with the manager, Josh. Josh is the worst human being in that store. He sat at the computer without communicating with us for another 30-45 mins. He was completely condescending and uninformative. He would give us no information as to what was going on, even though we only wanted a timeline. We wanted to know if we would make it to the bank in time. He would not even look at us and just kept saying "yes" "okay" "I'm agreeing with the customer" "Sure," rapidly. I told him to stop being so condescending and to just give us a time frame and yet he still wouldn't provide any information. Randy came to the rescue and told us the time frame. We had to leave and come back in order to make it to the bank. They told me they would call me to let me know when the account was unlocked. Instead, they deactivated my phone entirely and would not pick up the store phone. I went back in and luckily the phone was ready because I was about to lose my shit. There are far more details to this awful experience, but I'm done with this review. Josh does not deserve his position. read more

on 8/14/16, a sales rep who knew my car was a 1995, not only sold me a device that wouldn't work with it but he told me they "take care of everything" and proceeded to make an account with HUM on my phone using the year 1996 (instead of the 1995 my car really is) then he went outside and "installed it" for me. After a night of trying to figure out why I kept getting alerts to install my device, I go out to my car, look at the ODB port and see nothing in it. after searching all over my car, I find it under the passengers seat, shoved in the corner. Timothy, the sales rep that installed it had been struggling to insert it so I go to look up my port to be certain I'm actually seeing the right thing (because there's no way this device will fit in that port) I go to the HUM website and when I put in 1995, it immediately says the device isn't made for anything older than a 96. so...basically, this kid bullshittwd this whole sale. and so did the manager who told me one as getting a $750 line of credit with Verizon when I was still unsure about purchasing it. honestly, they also told me my insurance company would give me a discount if I tell them I had a lojack installed, I did that before I even left the parking lot and they said they needed proof of installation. I then told him it was a HUM and he had never even heard of it. so, the reason for me buying this thing being to get that discount and because nobody has ever offered me 750$ credit in my life were both lies. which doesn't matter anyway because the thing doesn't even work with my car and the kid PRETENDED TO INSTALL IT. HE WAS STRUGGLING AND I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED WHY IT WAS TAKING HIM SO LONG, I JUST ASSUMED THAT IT WAS A TIGHT SQUEEZE, NOT THAT HE WAS PRETENDING TO INSTALL IT AND THEN CHUCKING IT UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT. AND NOW...I'm being told I need to pay a restocking fee on a device that I should 1- have never been sold and 2-THE KID PRETENDED TO INSTALL IT AND LIED ABOUT MY CAR'S YEAR WHEN HE CREATED A HUM ACCOUNT FOR ME by the way, the only reason I was even at the store was because since the recent update, I had no service and an online rep told me to go to a store to have my SIM card replaced. while I was there, I mentioned that my original charger didn't alway register as an original. the kid told me my phone was bad and that they were sending me a new one. I had to tell him to replace the sim card so I could have service until the new phone was shipped to me. well, he did that and to be honest there's nothing wrong with me phone. it charges, it k's the wire that is messed up. I can see that by just looking at it. So now...3 days later, I call Verizon. I tell them my story and to try to help me out, the rep is going to conference call this Smithtown Verizon store so they can make note that I'm returning it and to make sure all fees are waived. Wouldn't you know it, the store won't pick up. And they don't return his call. Funny thing is, that store texted me from a landline yesterday asking how my recent visit went, when I reponded with concerns, they send me a text saying they will get back to me. Its been about 24 hours now and still nothing. I even sent them an email. Because of this whole thing, I asked the customer service guy if I should avoid corporate store because maybe theyre considered independently owned businesses and he laughed. He said no, the in store staff is held to the same standards as Verizon phone and online staff. SERIOUSLY? BECAUSE I WOULD NEVER EXPECT A BIG COMPANY LIKE VERIZON TO PRETEND TO INSTALL A DEVICE IN MY CAR OR TO INPUT THE INCORRECT CAR INFO INTO AN ACCOUNT THAT LEGALLY BINDS MY DEVICE AND IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT MY L I F E. How is a Hum mechanic supposed to help me when they have the wrong CAR info? And how is my insurance company supposed to give me a discount when the device is linked to a different car? One that doesn't even exist?! In all my years with verizon, I have never felt so much like they don't care. This is unacceptable and I seriously hope they take the correct steps to rectify it. Again, if an employee of their company lies on a legal document and lies to my face saying "you're good to go" when there was no way in hell he even came close to getting that thing in the port. This is verizon? That's the face of the company? If I was close to the store, I would go there and hand them the device and ask Timothy to show me how he inserted it in the port because unless he used fun tac to hold it on, it is obvious it wouldn't stay in place. Horrible experience! I went Sunday before Christmas which caused my expectations to be low. After waiting an hour to be told I had to buy a phone full price, I walked across the street to Sprint. The answer to my question didn't bother me , the lack of customer service did. My sales associate told me to look on line for a cheap phone, so instead I dropped verizon. Customer service at this location is worth a 0, however, this won't allow zero stars. After spending tens of thousands of $ with VERIZON over the years as a customer, I was treated so poorly at the Lake Grove stand alone location and was literally brought to tears. An employee, along with his manager Chris, were so much more interested in letting me know what they COULDN'T and SHOULDN'T do to help me and advised me of such with a completely inappropriate and condensing attitude. Apparently this is considered a "CORPORATE STORE", YIKES...doesn't say a whole lot for VERIZON! I was referred to this location through VERIZON wireless 800 #. I was told by the rep on the phone that an employee by the name of Gerald said to come right in and he would be more than happy help me right away. Ummmmmmm, NO, clearly this DID NOT happen at all. After my horrific experience at the Lake Grove location, I went over to VERIZON on Main St. in Smithtown, (Mattress Firm shopping center), where I was addresses immediately and had the issue completely resolved within 5 minutes. I was treated with the utmost respect and the customer service and attitude on Main St. was exactly what one would expect. I will follow up with Karla, the District Manager for Lake Grove, and I encourage anyone who has had a poor experience here to do the same. I believe in this age of disrespect the only way to rectify poor behavior is to recognize it, report it and follow up until the situation has been rectified. read more

I walked into Verizon very angry because I felt I was being ripped off by AT&T. I was paying way to much for 4 lines of service with older phones and being a customer for 17 years i expected to be treated a lot better. They showed no interest in keeping me as a customer so started to shop around. As soon as i walked in I was greeted by a young man named Enrico. He not only made me feel comfortable and confident with switching over, but he also lowered my bill and gave me brand new phones! I would NEVER go anywhere else after the service and appreciation I was shown as soon as i stepped into Verizon. I would highly recommend them and if you go to the store by the Smith Haven Mall you should ask to speak to Enrico. Very Professional and courteous! read more

I walked in first because my phone would not turn on. The man at the counter told me that he could not do anything and that I needed to go to apple. I then proceeded to apple where they told me that they could not to anything and that I had to go to Verizon. I go back there and the man talked about a bundle where I could get a new phone with stuff that I did not need and we told him that. He talked about the bundle for almost 2 hours. We then told him that we did not need it. He then kept talking about it while we told him we didn't need it. After almost 2 hours of being there and being sent to apple I had to order a new phone anyway. Worst experience I have ever had at a Verizon store and am probably switching to a different provider. read more

Poor service....had Nokia phone for less than 24hrs and shut down on me several times. They said they would replace with the same phone. I said I wanted a different phone, because I did not want to take the chance of having the same problem, and going back to the store for a forth time. They refused and said there would be a $35. Restocking fee. Bad company policy....I could see if you didn't like the phone, but if the phone does not perform, you should not have to pay a restock fee. Several trips back, waiting in line, waste of my time, etc.....BAD!!! read more

I have been with Verizon for 15 years and will wait for my contract to expire or allow another company to pay off Verizon to allow me to switch sooner. This place is the worst and so is Verizon Wireless. Placed an order and received an email to pick up order in 30 minutes to allow them to gather my order. Arrived at the store the Next DAY, waited 15 minutes just to sign in, and waited another hour and ten minutes to be helped. Wait there is more, THEY DID NOT HAVE MY PHONE nor did they have the case for the phone. Beware of signing contracts with Verizon. I purchased a phone in August and was informed if I pay off the phone monthly I would be able to "turn in the phone at any time and make payments on the new phone." DO NOT TRUST the employees and never sign an electronic receipt because they do not reveal "THE FINE PRINT." I thought I was paying a premium for a premium service, but Verizon is not the customer friendly company they once were. Can't wait to leave this company. read more

I want this story to be heard about Verizon !!! My Fiancee and I sent out our wedding invitations with our RSVP phone number being my cell phone number, ( Go Green). Well my 86 year old Great Aunt calls me and says I have been leaving you voicemail's for weeks to RSVP to your wedding. I said really ? I have no voicemail's. I call Verizon to find out there is a network error and I have not been receiving my voicemail's for over a month !!!!! They tell me they will help me out, do right by me, I'm a loyal customer and I am appreciated! I beg to differ. They promised to follow up with me in 24 hours. Never did, I called them 48 hours later. After my fiancee had given them permission for me to access the account they tell me theirs nothing they can do because I have no permission to access the account . So we call the following day so he can grant me access one more time. They say they will credit my account $20.00 for my trouble. Let me break down this dilemma. Weddings on long island are far from cheap, Lets be nice and say a $100 a plate at the venue. We now have to reach out to over 20 people to see if they are coming, We don't have a number to tell the venue. So 20 times 100 equals about $2000 dollars. They now give us $50.00 towards our bill for our trouble. This is a disgrace. Poor business. On top of this ! I had to call the bridal store to make sure they have not been trying to get in touch with me along with other vendors. This situation even gets better, I am An independent contractor, My phone is my business line to book jobs. Who knows how many opportunities have been lost! Yet Verizon told me I am appreciated, I'm sorry Verizon, your business ethics show me differently. Telling me I am appreciated will also not heal the stress and frustration I have dealt with for the past 4 days of my 7 day vacation. read more
