It's been several years since this happened to me and I thought that it was just a one off experience. However , after reading the recent reviews it seems that this store is STILL engaging in these practices. Here it goes - Read the bad reviews here , BEFORE ordering an Apple phone to be picked up here. If you're ordering through the Verizon website this location will show up as having it in stock. But when you place your order and try to pick it up at this location - they'll say they don't have it in stock (but if you would like to purchase one directly from the shop - I'm sure they would manage to find some in stock.) It's obvious that the employees or the store itself doesn't get paid if you order a phone online and just go there to pick it up. So save yourself the trouble - and don't do it. I'm sure if you were to go there and buy the phone directly from them they'll be very accommodating and helpful. read more

Do not and I mean DO NOT go to this location. They messed up our entire family plan that we are still trying to figure out with other contacts at Verizon. Not a single representative here has been helpful- each one has made situations more and more messed up regarding billing (and I have had to return 5 separate times to "fix" previous issues they caused, because they kept causing more and more). For example, they gave me a WiFi box saying it would be free due to upcoming outages, yet charged me $80 a month for it. They gave me the wrong watch color, so I exchanged it for the correct color, and months after the fact they charged me $500 dollars for the original watch (the wrong version they tried to give me). When I was in there I even witnessed them realizing directly after a customer left that they did something to mess up the reimbursement of their trade in, and they ultimately said "oh well, there is nothing we can do about it now". Go to any other location that you can. This is truly outrageous- management needs to do something about this location. read more

The man was SO rude at the store. He had plugs in his ears and a red rash on his hand. The ordered was placed wrong and he said I picked up my phone before he gave it to me. He then said I had to drive Torrance in rush hour traffic. I had no idea if the phone was even there so I called Verizon to have it shipped to me. Terrible customer service. Devin or Devlin whatever his name was is extremely unprofessional. His presentation being one and his unsolicited comments being another plus his lack of knowledge on Verizon services and products! I could see his underpants and is dressed as a regular man on the streets rather than a Verizon employee. After meeting with him the first time I felt uneasy with my experience and decided to go to another location where I received much better service and proper knowledge on the questions and concerns I had. Unfortunately the other location told me I had to return to him as he had some codes needed. I've had to return to the store twice for whatever reason he needs to properly apply a promotion. I had him add service to a new line I added and he added it to the wrong phone leaving me with 2 phones that are not with the correct numbers. I'll have to go for help for a third time. My colleague came to this Verizon location to trade in her phones for credit last evening. She was informed by a sales representative that the system was down and they weren't able to process the trade in. The representative then made a call to a supervisor and placed him on speaker and my colleague overheard him referring to her as "I can't deal with the idiot Asian lady and to come back tomorrow." I've never heard of such an outrageous thing to say about customers. I've worked in the retail/hospitality industry and I know how tough it can be but employees here need proper training because clearly they do not know the meaning of respect. read more

DONT GO HERE!!!!!! I went in for a mobile upgrade and was told it would be over $300. When I asked why he said that's with screen saver and cover, so I said I didn't want all that from the shop just the phone. However, I was still quoted over $200, and I've been with Verizon 14 years and ever paid that much.. so I left. I called Verizon directly and boom $118 new phone coming in 4 days. Verizon said this is an independent store and may be why they charged so much, and didn't try and help at all!!! All phones just cost thousands at this point. The service was fine, it's just always a bummer that when i go into a Verizon store, I leave paying more and more each time. I havn't replaced my phone for almost 4-5 years, but here was my breakdown for my new upgrade. $437 on a down payment with an additional $13 per month for the next 48 months. And even as i paid for all of this, my month to month bill had to be upgraded from $70/month - $75/month on a family plan. Just wild that is all costs so much these days, and I guess we just have to get use to this. read more

My phone died today out of the blue; completely dead. I went to the Apple Store and bought a new phone. The Apple Store wouldn't set it up for me and they directed us to the Verizon store up the street to get it initiated so we went to the Verizon store on Rosecrans and they wanted to charge us to set it up. We went to this store on Hawthorne Blvd. and the manager Cristal not only initiated the new phone but also spent a lot of time on the phone calling to help us do what would otherwise have taken us hours at home! She is super knowledgeable, personable, and on top of that we had a nice chat. She's is very professional and cares about her customers and giving them 5 star service. Guess what? Fadi was incredibly patient during a marathon late evening visit, helping my party of three choose and sign up for service. A few days later, when I realized the service wasn't right for me, Sylvia provided thoughtful guidance on when to cancel to avoid issues with our ported numbers. On my final visit, both Sylvia and Antonio kindly assisted and advocated with Verizon customer service and Leadership for the best refund possible in the unique circumstances. Do not ever go to this place! I went there 1 year ago and recently my son went there. I did not know he was going there, or I would have said no! They are a con shop! I have come to find they are a third-party provider. There is usually one person working, so people waiting get impatient. I'm always trying to upsell. Both times said the same thing. Sorry, I can not give you a bill summary because it goes to corporate. What does that even mean? My son was in there for three hours! They gave him the wrong phone, then charged him 40$for restock even though it had not been open. 40$ for set up even though they did not have time to set it up because customers were annoyed waiting. I could go on and on. Luckily, he called Verizon and spent an hour with a manager who fixed everything, removing 200$ of chargers! This place teaches their employees unfair business practices. When I walked into the store today I was relieved to see Fabian back at this store! I know he as a sales representative had my best interest in mind. He has helped me in the past and I have been pleased with my purchases every time he has helped me. Brittney was also a great help when it came to explaining some fun stuff. The store has a nice new look with new grey wall - the red wall was too much! New chairs and desks instead of a bar type service. It is much more inviting and relaxing than before. Verizon - Fun people who helped me get a GREAT GOOGLE phone!! - Mobile Phones Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

These people are thieves. I had a iphone 13 pro max. i was walking across an intersection and i was almost hit and my iphone was damaged. I was with T-Mobile and they were rude and I have been with them 30 years. So i went to Verizon. Well I was met by Kam. I told her what happen and she said i could get a free Iphone 14 Pro Max for switching. I was also asked about the $25 a line deal. Well the commercial is misleading you have to have 4 lines. Anyway, I have my cracked phone which I was told it could not be repaired so they said. well as she is working on the new phone i said I am going to get a new case from Amazon. She said don't worry it's all included. I said it is? and she said yes. When i hear it's included that means free. So we continue and after 3 hours we finished she said it would be $412.70. I had not switched phones for 30 years. Well i thanked her and went home. when I got home i pulled out the bill and a few boxes and find out that she charged me $65 dollars for a screen protector, $65 for some liquid screen protector and $65 for a case plus 1 charge for $19.99 for some set up and go service and another charge for another $29.99 for another set up and go fee. I was pissed i texted the rep and said you said all these things were included and what is this set and go fee. She did not ever tell me about the two fee's and she put all these protectors on the phone without even asking me. well, then the phone was not working correctly and none of my information would come over and I was a little perturbed that I wasn't given the information or gave her the permission to put all the stuff on my phone and I returned it after two weeks. All she disclosed was that there would be a $50 restock fee. Well I got a refund for the case but I ended up paying $142 for some liquid glass and some screen protector I did not ask for and I was not going to get the product because it was on the phone i gave back. but I didn't get it. It was on the old phone but I didn't put it on. She did it without asking my permission. She told me to go to the manufacturer and see if they will give the product well they said no. so i just called and the manager at the store treated me like i was stupid and said I should know that there is a charge to get a phone and there policy is not refunding the money for the screen savor and the liquid protector. Has this country got to the point where we do not disclose what we're doing or ask permission, then not to refund the money for a product that was not ask for a or given permission to put on my phone. This does not end here. I will take this to my girlfriend that works on scams. Because this is a scam. Why am I paying for someone to do there job. I'm in sales i don't get paid to bring my product or for showing it or if they return the product. They need to disclose this to every client and also tell them that this cases and protectors are not included. You pay for them. I'd give it a 1, but it's just the one employee. I needed a replacement sim card for an issue that a different Verizon helped me with and tried to explain it to her. She didn't understand the issue and wanted to charge me for it. This isn't the first time she's be unprofessional. Prior, she had told me they had Verizon phones starting at $69. She recommended an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told it would be an hour. I didn't get her name, but she's a short, Latina women. These satellite stores are not actually covered by Verizon. So when you purchase phones or accessories and they tell you they are giving you a deal It's completely false. We bought a phone here and it was "bundled" with a notepad. We didn't want the pad but "it was free"". This started a months long nightmare of being charged for the pad and service for it. When I called Verizon they said there was no such promotion. So it was a total scam to get us to buy an unneeded pad and service....Verizon would not help us in any way. Update, I was put in touch with Marilin, a District Leader. She was kind enough to explain the process and put me in touch with a representative from the Porting Department. I asked for this call to take place roughly 30 minutes after my call with Marilin. We called the department and I had my issue properly put in place for resolutions. Marilin stayed on the call with me to Verizon the whole way. It must have been an hour or more of her time. That is what I call service and thanks! read more

I absolutely loathe having to come to this (or any) Verizon store. Every single one of them is understaffed and it takes HOURS to be seen if you're having an issue with your phone that you can't handle online. As I write this I've been waiting for an hour to be seen as one person is working while someone else is 30 minutes late for their shift. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST STORE!!!! Please save yourself much hassle and frustration and do NOT deal with an authorized retailer. Especially NOT this one. PLEASE GO TO AN OFFICIAL VERIZON WIRELESS STORE or have your order shipped to you. DO NOT DEAL WITH VICTRA! SUCH A SCAMMER DEALER. I thought since I was only picking up a phone and nothing else - since I had already set up the service plan myself online and would activate the phone myself once received - that it would be ok, but I was sadly mistaken. I ordered a phone online through Verizon Wireless yesterday, for in store pick up at this location because they have the phone I wanted in stock. So I called the store today to determine when I could expect the phone to be ready for pick up; just looking for a turnaround time/ ETA. The exact words by the female I spoke with were "the order is being processed now. It will be ready for pickup after 3". I show up around 3:45/4 today, only to be told that there is no phone for me. The three in stock - and then later told that the five (wait, it went from three to five in stock?!) - that all the phones were on hold for another customer. That sounds real suspect that one customer has on hold all the stock of the model of iPhone I ordered....VERY SUSPECT. Not to mention I was told about these now five phone when I went back , after spending nearly two hours on the phone, of which was a combination of being on hold and talking to two different representatives at Verizon. As I mentioned, I went back to the store a second time, after being told by the second Verizon rep to advise them to contact IQ metrics or Channel Support, because the ordered reflected as processed so one of those phones should be mine. But yet again, I left empty handed. I was just currently on hold again with Verizon trying to get this sorted/get a phone ordered. Just to be told by the third Verizon representative that she only had bad news for me. First, that the order cannot be canceled on Verizon's end; only this fake dealer can do so and she was unable to reach the store to make the request, after making attempts to call them. So I would have to go in person to have the store contact their IQ metrics dept to cancel the order. Or I would have to wait three days and then the order will cancel off. So now I will have to wait three days before this order cancels, because I'm not stepping back in this horrible store again. THIS STORE HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND I TRULY HOPE THIS STORE IS SHUT DOWN FOR ITS SHADY PRACTICES. If I could give it ZERO STARS I would!! Side note: Shame on Verizon for dealing with these swindlers. Verizon is just another large Corp that could not care less about their customers, which is made evident by their partnership with places such as this dishonest dealer, and having such a hands-off approach with this place even though it's representing their corporation. Not to mention the simple fact that they couldn't cancel this order even though they processed it. Unbelievable! ** Just buy your phone** For the last two years I have been paying for an Ipad I never wanted, and have never used. Here is how they do it 1) They imply that when you are upgrading your phone, you qualify for a Ipad "at no additional cost". There's a lot of confusing verbiage thrown in. On purpose. 2) They set a specific return policy for 30 days. Now here is the kicker, most people don't get their cc statements until the next payment cycle. So, once you see that additional $20 fee you inquire about an immediate cancel, because this isn't how the rep worded it to you. Most reps Iv'e worked with in Verizon use clever phrasing. It's an up-sell game to them. The rep at this location was brutal. 3) After a month passes and you realize what is going on, you have 2 options. Option A, Cancel the Ipad and pay for it all upfront...which, doesn't sound "free" at all. Or option B, continue paying $20 for the next two years for your "free ipad". Here is where it gets even better. I was still being charged $20/month after the plan had expired as it had reached the 2 year mark. They charged me for an additional 3 months. I literally had to break that down to a customer service agent on the phone and her response was "yea, that's not right". Iv'e been dealing with this for 2 years. One of the reps from the store even called me and explained they were going to make it right. I never heard back from them. This is just an honest breakdown of how I was treated as an almost 2 decade customer. Also so Verizon could make an extra $480. Sheesh. Moral of the story, don't go to this store. I finally went to store because my phone was no longer functioning properly. The team at the Verizon in Manhattan Beach made the process relatively painless and was super candid about the upgrades available. I ended up getting the more expensive plan, but no one at the store pressured me to do so. I felt the accessories I bought were the ones I needed - and not superfluous. Came in at 8:20pm on 10/19/19 and the store doesn't close until 9pm but the worker Elvis (if that's his real name) claimed he could not help us if we needed more from him than to answer a simple question. Wanted to just purchase a phone (11 Pro Max) but was told he'd be helping the customers he was currently with for the next hour. Not sure how he knew how long it'd take but he should've been able to help two people or this establishment needs to have more than one person working on a Saturday. I've worked CS and know if a customer issue is gonna take long, you're able to take on smaller tasks in between. He just had no interest in helping and it was obvious. The employee also proceeded to lock the location up at 8:35pm even though they're supposed to be open until 9pm. Also didn't appreciate how the customer he was with who was probably his friend had the nerve to pipe in and add to the fact that "Elvis" couldn't help us. It was just odd. I stopped here a few weeks ago to buy a new case for my phone. I had a good idea of what I wanted, and fortunately they had it. The customer service rep took care of me, and answered some questions I had about my account. I didn't do anything other than that, so it's hard to gouge their salesmanship and honesty. I did have a pleasant experience, so I will leave a 4-star review. I will be back the next time I upgrade phones, which should be when the iPhone 7 comes out.
