Spain just got a whole lot closer to Texas. This place nails…read moreexactly what you want in a Spanish tapas spot: solid paella that actually tastes authentic, creative small plates that keep coming without overwhelming you, and handcrafted cocktails that hit right. We shared a bunch of tapas and one of the signature paellas -- every dish had that perfect balance of flavor, fresh ingredients, and just enough flair without trying too hard. The rice in the paella was on point, crispy bits and all. Atmosphere is lively but not chaotic -- great for a relaxed dinner that stretches into a couple of hours. Dim lighting, nice energy, and you can actually hear the people at your table. Service was smooth and friendly, no rushing, just good pacing so you can enjoy the meal. If you're in San Antonio and craving real Spanish vibes -- tapas, sangria, paella, the works -- Toro delivers without the tourist-trap nonsense. It's become one of my go-to spots when I want quality food and a chill night out. Fair prices for the quality, clean spot, and that certified Spanish restaurant stamp means they're doing it right. Highly recommend. We'll be back for sure -- 5 stars, no notes. Go hungry and bring friends to share everything. Toro Kitchen + Bar - do it.

We weren't seated until 8:18 PM, and our server didn't even come to the table until 8:42 PM. Drinks didn't arrive until 9:00 PM, and to top it off, my wine order was wrong. While the appetizers came out in a decent amount of time, our main food order is still not out as I write this review at 9:44 PM. Food officially arrived at 9:46pm. It's pretty ridiculous to wait nearly two hours for dinner with a reservation. Great food isn't worth this level of neglect.

The menu is really big - breakfast, dinners, sammiches, Benedicts, a whole vegan section…read more..... I started with spicy tots and an Arnold Palmer. For dinner I had carne guisada Benedict. I'd have like the spicy tots to have had some more seasoning, they had like the lightest dusting of the Nashville seasoning but I could have stood to have some more. The chorizo on it was a tiny bit spicy but not much. The tots were nicely crispy though and helps up well to the stuff piled on top of them. The carne guisada Benedict was good, the biscuit underneath was solid (I mean like it was good - not a hard biscuit). Turns out carne guisada is basically Mexican pot roast??? So at the end of the day it was pot roast. It wasn't bad but it's pot roast lol. If I come back I'll get a different meat only because I'm not the biggest pot roast fan. My Arnold Palmer never got empty and my waitress wanted to send me out the door with a to go drink or water or something because it was very hot out and she didn't want me to get dehydrated so that was nice of her. Also she offered me some green salsa or other salsas and sauces and I took her up on the green salsa and it helped with the spicy tots and I put it on the Benedict too.
