I was a little surprised by the prices at first, but the generous portion sizes more than made up for it. Our waitress was friendly & attentive throughout the meal, & I loved how the ceiling lights danced around the room, it added such a fun, lively atmosphere!

I have been here twice and after being here twice, I can agree that a three sounds about right this afternoon. My family and I went here for lunch while we were in the area. Service was pretty good. I liked our waitress atmosphere was OK. It's kind of old looking for being a new establishment so I really think they need to revamp some things. They have all these TVs, but none of them are on and this is prime time Sports day on Saturday I think that would live up to place a little bit opinion. Food itself is about three expensive and my wife didn't really like her either my dad did not like his. My stepmom didn't like hers. I probably like mine the best I gave it to three everyone else gave it a two you know it's got potential. I think I would eat here again, it's not my favorite

    The trio is fire!

Lady J is a great server. Food is always great and drinks are cold. Bathroom are kept tidy. We were a party of 10 and they accommodated us easily!

Simply amazing food and service! Super casual atmosphere and a menu that offers an abundance of original flavors and dishes! We tried a few different items and all were phenomenal. House salsa is unique and made with the freshest ingredients. It will certainly keep you entertained while you await the main course. Go for the trio dip sampler with two types of queso and guacamole if you're with a crowd or just in the mood for something delicious! Our server Jesus made sure our party was well taken care of, he's top notch!! We opted for the birria platter for our main course. It was easily enough to feed two adults with some to take home and was so delicious. Veronica's earned an easy 5 stars! Will certainly return and strongly encourage everyone to try this place out!

Place is great. Salsa may be my favorite in the city. But got the famous birria player for only $37. Staff was great and quick.

First time visiting this restaurant. Had read good things so was excited to try it. There were five of us & we all ordered something different. I will begin with first impressions. 1. Very nice sized dining room, comfortable chairs 2. The menu is pretty but my husband & I were unable to read it due to the pink background, white font & tiny font size. We ordered by looking at the pictures which did not give us information as to what was in the dish. 3. Margarita flight was not very good. Drinks were too sweet & had sugar around the rim as opposed to salt 4. The tacos are Birria style which I have never had before. They were good but very heavy tasting. I missed the pico de gallo which is always a nice change 5. The chips & salsa are good. Chips look store bought. The salsa is very tasty & not the usual red sauce you get at other places. 6. My husband ordered egg rolls. They looked like small chimichangas. Not very appetizing since they were just lying on the plate with no garnishes 7. My daughter got nachos on top of French fries. She said it was good. Didn't look very appetizing. This is probably what true Mexican food is but I'm not a fan. Our bill with a 30% tip was over $200. I tipped well because our server was wonderful not because the food was stellar.

Great ambiance Mexican restaurant to start. Service A1 friendly, helpful, and on-time. Guacamole fresh best I have had in years as well as the bean dip and chorizo dip. 1st time trying QuesaBirria tacos, out of this world flavor with the consome for additional dipping flavor, highly recommend. My #1 Favorite Mexican restaurant

Server was amazing and informative. Atmosphere was authentic. Last time we were here it was a ponderosa buffet. The transformation is worth checking out. Best barria pork around. Definitely 5 stars

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

Their claim to fame seems to be 1) Muhammed Ali used to eat there and 2) they wouldn't serve OJ Simpson and kicked him out. Nick was our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable server. I ordered a half dozen oysters, an iceberg blue salad and a Cowboy rare petite filet mignon steak. We also shared a large side of shishito peppers. The oysters were very fresh and spot on, served with horseradish, vinegar, fresh lemon and Tabasco. They weren't fully shucked, so I had to pry them from the shell. My salad never made it to the table. Nick was mortified and offered to make it right with dessert (which I politely declined). The steak was good and was cooked rare, the way I asked. The weird thing was that the rare steak tasted dry - maybe it was the rub, but a rare steak should not taste dry. Almost like it was cooked medium. I told Nick I liked the steak but it might have been the seasoning that made it taste dry. They comped the steak. Outstanding. They earned a star back. Nick knew how to make a customer feel welcomed, special, and appreciated. Definitely worth a visit, but bring a credit card with a high limit. They need a dipping sauce, lime juice, and sea salt. The Brussels sprouts are ok. They almost tasted candied and had no tang to balance the flavor. Inconsistently cooked. I don't know if this is a thing they do at Doc Crow's, but in my opinion the bartender excessively kept asking me what I wanted even while I was still looking at the menu. This definitely frustrated me since it was clear that I wasn't ready yet. I think she should have done a better job reading my cues to figure out when I am ready to order.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.

Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me.
