We had a Female Foodie deal to use, and this was on the way to Midway for our Ice Castle trip. My chicken was delicious, as always, and I love the cauliflower as well. I wasn't super thrilled with my mac and cheese, sadly, because I was really excited for that. While I feel like my body leaves happy after eating at Vessel Kitchen, I do wish the temperature of the food were hotter. I feel like each time I've gone (a few visits to the Midvale location; and only once here), my food is mostly lukewarm or cold. It's certainly not a deal breaker; it all tastes fine and is good quality, just often cold. I would like to give 5 stars but I had a hard time with figuring out the menu and what the sides were. The names of everything were very overwhelming making it hard to choose. The chicken and grains were very good and flavorful, definitely my favorite! The spicy Fresno mango slaw was amazing on it! The braised beef was tender and very good. The Brussel sprouts were the perfect combo of spicy and crispy. The cashew Caesar broccoli had good flavor but the broccoli was a little under cooked and the pieces were large and hard to cut. After a day of hiking I was looking for a place to have some dinner. I also had my dog with me so the restaurant needed to be dog friendly. This place was just the ticket. They have a really large outdoor patio which is shaded and you are welcome to bring your four-legged friends. The menu is very extensive and can accommodate a variety of special diet's from whole30, to gluten-free to vegan. This meal tasted really good. I particularly liked the Israeli couscous and the broccoli. I also got some kombucha that was on tap which tasted really good on a hot summer day. I loved it all--especially the sweet potatoes and chicken! Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. It's the type of place where you take a number to the table and they'll bring you your food, and they started bringing it out before I even had finished filling up my drink :) I definitely will be coming here again and can't wait to try some of the other sides because they all looked so yummy! The portions were bigger than I thought and everything was actually tasty and filling. The yellow fin tuna was really fresh, but the beef was a bit salty for me though. I could tell that they use quality ingredients that are simple, yet healthy so you don't feel guilty afterwards. The macaron, on the other hand, is a different story LOL. Great food and casual when needs something healthy and in the go. I like the diversity of options that they have.

The mission is simply stated. "Offer healthy, high-quality food at a reasonable price." Mission accomplished and then some at this fantabulously unique eatery. Stand in line cafeteria-style to order from options listed on a paper menu that include salads, bowls, toasts, sandwiches and flatbread "tacos" or design your own market plate which includes the protein of your choice and two of the delicious hot and cold sides. Quality eats that work splendidly for vegans or vegetarians or omnivores plus friendly service and 'all people are welcome' industrial meets mountain vibe, not to mention a parking lot in the strip mall where this is located, adds up to all delicious. With so few meals to enjoy during five days of vacation in Park City and so many restaurants from which to choose, it says something that Vessel was on our list twice. If we were local we'd eat here all the time. If you read no further than this, the bottom line advice is "GO". Details below for those interested THE DRILL...can be confusing first time in so here's the nutshell summary. a.Pick up a paper menu off the counter to the right of front entry. Choose what you want to eat. Tell the nice person at the front counter terminal. They will enter your choice. You will be given a receipt to take to the register at the end of the cafeteria-style line. b. Move along down the line as the people on the food line behind the plexi-shield assemble your order relying on the previously entered information at the front terminal. c. If along the way of the line you decide to add to your meal, say a Auntie Em's macaroon or cup of local roaster Pink Elephant's dark roast coffee or stick of Red Bicycle Olive Oil & Sea Salt bread to take with you, the nice person at the register at the end of the line can ring that up at when you give them your receipt and they give you a tray with your food on it and take your payment. d. Carry your tray to an open table or if they are backed up for service they will provide you with a number to take to the table and deliver the dish to you. e. They bus the tray when you are finished. If they are getting busy and see you dawdling over say that Auntie Em macaroon and Pink Elephant coffee, they might even come ask if you're ready to have them take the tray away. Hint. :-) f. Water, napkins and flatware are on the service station around the corner from the register. The loo too. THE EATS & THE DOLLARS... If you choose Build Your Own plate, he price of the plate is based on the protein selected (examples: falafel $11, tuna crudo $14, pork butt confit $12, braised espresso beef $12.5, rotisserie chicken quarter $11) and super reasonable for the quality and serving size. Two sides of your choice go with this and you can't decide on which you want from the menu, you can choose them as you walk down the cafeteria line since you can see them there. (Note: You can also choose a 3 part market plate of just sides for $9.) The Build Your Own plate is so generous in size it can be shared by two, at least that was true for us for our choices of Pork Butt Confit (baharat spice rubbed and braised with honey wine and mustard), sweet potato hash (with Moroccan paprika and red onions) and cherry tomatoes (marinated with herbs.) If a Plate isn't the choice for you they also have... ...seasonal salads (ex: honey burrata with spring mix and honey beet drizzle $12), ...hearty bowls (ex: the med with falafel, herbed tomato, couscous and napa beet slaw $11), ...sandwiches (ex: pulled chicken baguette $11 ), ...flatbreads (ex: braised beef naan 'tacos' $11.5) ...toasts (ex: with avocado $8.5) On a personal note, we are falafel fan(atic)s and you can't miss with the falafel flatbreads (two generous size will feed two for only $10.5). ACCESSIBILITY - aka ADA: Accessible parking in lot just outside the door. Level in and all on one floor. Cafeteria line has ample floor clearance. Food side options most likely outside of visual range for seated customers. Tables are at standard height and some have adequate floor clearance for wheelchairs. Loo (two) accessible but path to them can be tight squeeze when tables are full.. TIPS: 1. "Family Meals" also available for take out. Ranging from $40 to $49 and with protein options including chicken (whole rotisserie or pulled), pork confit or braised beef and including 3 sides (24 oz ea.) this is a great take away back to rental house or condo to feed a group of four or more. 2. If I had to imagine how Park City would do fast casual dining, this is it to a T. First off, when I dined here I'd actually planned on eating lunch on Main Street, but the restaurant I wanted was closed (even though they said they were open for lunch, but that's neither here nor there). So right off the bat I was a bit disappointed that this was where I was eating. Still, they have great reviews, and the pictures of the interior looked modern and pretty, so it seemed like a good choice. When I entered I was let down once more because I really wanted a nice lunch, and I had not realized this was fast casual. Again, though, I pressed on. The menu sounded good, and features seasonal options that appear quite healthy, with lots of vegetable-heavy selections (win!). They have (and have marked) vegan and gluten free dishes as well. There are salads, sandwiches (their bread did not look great), and grain bowls, or you can "design your own market plate" which consists of a protein and two sides. They didn't have any soups, though when I asked the reply was, "Not yet!" so hopefully that is in the works, as it definitely feels like something that should be available, and is very in line with this style of restaurant. After ordering your food you'll walk past the prep station to the cash register, where you can order drinks (they have nitro coffee!), and you'll find some dessert options (I noted a few cookies and macarons from a local baker). We went with the chicken & grains bowl + avocado, and "design your own plate" with braised espresso beef, lemon miso duo, and roasted potatoes. The bowl was a pretty simple grain bowl, and while the portion didn't seem huge, quinoa is quite filling, and it ended up being more than enough. I think the avocado is necessary, but at $3 for the addition you're getting a bit pricey ($14) for fast casual. The braised espresso beef was not my favorite. It was tender and flavorful, but tasted exactly like homemade pot roast. Which isn't bad, per se, but I was expecting a stronger espresso flavor, and there wasn't any. I can have roast any time, so it just didn't feel very special. The lemon miso duo consisted of cold broccoli and cauliflower with bits of feta. It was good, but it didn't blow me away, and I couldn't taste any miso. The roasted potatoes, though....dang. Maybe it's because I don't eat a lot of potatoes, but they were fantastic. Very creamy and soft, with some crispy crunchy bits, and that fried rosemary on top just put it over the edge. I mean, they are cooked in chicken schmaltz (fancy way of saying chicken fat), so of course they are amazing. I'm feeling a bit dreamy just thinking of them. Prices are an average of about $12 per entrée, topping out at $14, but with a few additional sides or treats your meal could quickly add up. We spent a bit over $30 for two (entrees + one drink), which isn't bad for Park City, but I didn't quite feel like our meal was worth that. They have self-serve water, and that same counter includes your silverware, napkins, some hot sauces, and various other dining accoutrements, but it is housed in an alcove which puts you back to back with those tossing their garbage and putting away used dishes. It is tight, and even though we were dining at 2:00pm, that area was so congested that we had to wait a few minutes just to get drinks of water, and we were still in the way, or had others in our way, the entire time. That whole set up is a mess, and they desperately need to figure out a better process. All things considered, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was all very good, but the only standout item was the potatoes. I think this is a good addition to Park City, but I also think I could have spent just a bit more for a really stellar lunch, so for now they get 4 stars. I would definitely return though, for potatoes first and foremost, but also hopefully when they have soup. read more

I was very excited to try Vessel Kitchen. It is conveniently located in the middle of a shopping hub in Park City. It is fast casual and had a very promising menu. I appreciated how quickly the line moved despite it looking dauntingly long when we first arrived. The cashier taking our order was very friendly and helpful in making recommendations that would pair well for a custom bowl. We moved down the assembly line watching our food get put together. That's where the first flags were raised. The portions are very small for the price that we're paying, I quite literally had nine cubes of tuna poke. Typically, I would chalk it up to inflation for being in a tourist area, but after I tasted the food, I'm still not too thrilled. I get it, Utah is not where you get high quality fish but this poke just missed the freshness mark. I liked the flavor but not enough to get it again. The esquite salad was not good, flat out, I'm sorry. The prep work for it was sloppy or something because I kept getting parts of the root (?) in it, just lots of inedible pieces. Also just didn't like the flavor. The watermelon salad was probably the best part of the bowl but I still probably wouldn't get it again. After not having eaten much of my bowl, I was still hungry and went to get a tomato bisque soup to hold me over. Welp, it didn't work because the soup was super grainy but not in the chunky, yummy kind but in a weird texture, goopy kind. I had two bites and also gave up on that. If I had gotten the Suss cookies, I would've definitely enjoyed it. Why the 3 stars and not lower? All in the customer service. The cashier at the beginning and especially the cashier at the end of the line were fantastic at their jobs. Had a buy one get one coupon that showed Park City as a participating location. We have never had a problem using this coupon at any of the other Vessel locations. What a great concept. Basically home cooked meal that you order at the counter, as well as grab your drinks, then pay and sit down. It is set up like a fast food place, however slow cooked foods. The young lady that took our order was helpful. They were out of tuna, and being that I don't eat meat she was able to guide me to some great choices quickly. They serve beer, wine, Mexican soda, kombucha in the bottle or on tap. You see casual dress to slightly dressy. Basically any dress code. Once you are done eating, you return all of your plates and silverware to an area designated for them and leave with a happy belly. Enjoy! read more

This place is awesome! We were thrilled to find it while searching for a good lunch place on our bike ride. We had the chicken and grains bowl and added corn and avocado. The flavors in this dish were incredible. We also got 1 Naan Chicken taco and the pita strips. Again the flavors in these items were fantastic and they give you plenty of food. I asked the chef what were the spices and he told me it was a South African spice in the chicken which we immediately googled and found.
