Vessel Kitchen is hands down the best airport food I've ever had (lounges excluded, of course). I ordered the Mountain Bowl for brunch, which came with eggs, braised beef, sweet potato hash, pickled onions, Peruvian green sauce, and feta. The customer service was trash. The cashier Elana was rude. I asked to order a side of bacon with my avocado toast and she told me they did not have bacon. So I left and went somewhere else and bought some bacon and when I returned, I noticed that the menu had changed. So when I got to the register and I asked her, I said so did you change to a lunch menu and she said yes. I told her that she could've easily told me that they were changing to lunch menu and that's why they did not have bacon so that I could review the lunch menu. She had a smirk on her face and as I was walking away her in the black girl on the line making the food we're looking at me and talking, so I guess they were talking about me. It was my first time visiting and my last. If she is unhappy with her job, then should get another one instead of being rude to people who have not done anything to her. read more

I'm so happy to have found this restaurant in the SLC airport! I looked it up and it got great reviews. I'm not a vegetarian but I love getting well made veggies and grains when I can . So much better than a burger or pretzel any day. It's got a grab vibe, open kitchen. Lots of food to combine. Service was good, standard. Big bowl of food for $15. Staff pretty friendly but there was an overhanging feeling of disorganization. Had to wait for coffee to brew, which took more than 10 minutes. While I was waiting, they ran out of beef, but continued to take orders for it?, just requiring a lot of refunds and order changes. Early morning light reflects off the terminal floor and makes it almost impossible to sit at the counter which faces that way. Seating is very tight; not helped by singles taking all the four tops. When you're traveling on a plan especially a long flight, a good meal is even more important. We were on a layover and noticed Vessel Kitchen and their menu looked great. You order at the counter and they load the bowls for you, just takes a few minutes. We got two bowls - the chicken + grains bowl and the uncle Rico with chicken and mashed potatoes. Both bowls were definitely tasty. Hot, fresh, and flavorful. Great combination of ingredients. The only reason I'm taking one star off is because I had 1-2 undesirable "crunch" in my quinoa bowl which was unappetizing. Hopefully they can be more careful going forward. read more

Managing to find good food in the airport?? Next to impossible but Vessel defies that! We had several hour layover in SLC and we were super thankful to find some good food! You can build your own bowl but I opted for one of the pre made options which was the Uncle Rico. This was delicious! I loved the mashed potatoes and the sauce was so good and the pork was tender! I recently flew through Salt Lake City and had a 3-hour layover. I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch at Vessel to spend some time. I normally get their chicken grain bowl which is absolutely fantastic, but I saw they recently updated their menu and it wasn't available. In its place, I decided to try their Utah Bowl which came with Al Pastor chicken thighs, sweet potatoe hash, pepita lime vinaigrette, Israeli Pico, and micro cilantro. I also decided to add the spicy Korean broccoli for freshness. The bowl came generously filled with fresh sweet potatoes, a generous helping of chicken and a delicious vinaigrette that brought everything together. The pickled onions on top also added a pallet cleanser for this rich meal. As for the spicy broccoli, I was really hoping for some spice but to me it didn't have any heat. For $14, I got the Al Pastor Chicken, brussel sprouts, Sweet Potato Hash...then I paid an extra $4 for Falafel. All of this was yummy! I just wish the food portions were larger...after 90mins(I had a 2.5 hour layover) I ran over to Shake Shack to grab a burger cause I was getting hungry again. OMG! We jumped on the Vessel at SLC Airport Delta wing last Monday night and it saved us from severe hunger. This may be the best restaurant in SLC Airport--maybe one of the best restaurants in SLC or any airport. Had to eat the food so quickly before the flight I forgot to take a picture. It was Chicken Breast, Sweet Potatoes, and Brussels Sprouts. ($14) All great and given that this was an Airport--even more impressive they can deliver food like this there. Employees were pleasant and okay with my many questions on how to order and what things are--they even gave me a taste of sweet potatoes holding up a line of pilots. You can dine in or take to go and the to go containers/bags are perfect for on the plane. Food choices tend toward healthy. This the first place I would go for lunch or dinner in SLC Airport and they said they are open until 11 PM which worked for us at 10 PM. Thanks for staying open late! read more

Pretty great airport food on a work trip. Opted for the Utah bowl with extra chicken and I enjoyed it. Would probably get something different next time but it was hard to choose since everything looked good. Extra chicken was $6.50 which is pretty pricy. Probably wouldn't do that in the future but they did load me up so it might be worth it to some. read more
