its been 2 months since my Princess went to doggy heaven. She was a Pitbull that lived 14 years! she was mine. I gotta sayyy the whole staff here was amazing. from beginning to the end.. from entering the facility we were greeted and assisted with bringing her in. i was able to be next to her the whole time she was being assessed. i hugged and told her how much i loved her. my princess was suffering a lot in the end from kidney failure and blood work came back pretty fast. the staff here were comforting me and updating me through the process. the mission for this company was definitely fulfilled at that visit. my princess was dying on me... the doctors words were definitely comforting and i needed their reassurance that we did the best we could. this whole staff from this facility deserves the best. you are all animal lovers and have a heart of gold. we were given a private room to say our final goodbyes and were offered great services to put her in a great earn. i miss my baby so much. the best thing of this all was the fact that they were able to work with me financially & emotionally during a time of desperation & need. i am forever grateful for all the staff here. i even got a condolences card mailed out to me. i love u guys!! u guys rock and really filled my heart with joy when i received the card. So difficult to find vets that tend to rabbits as they're considered exotics. My lop started showing gi stasis symptoms and needed to be seen immediately unfortunately my go to vet was unavailable and referred me to VEG. Thank goodness for their kind, knowledgeable and professional staff!! Took us right in and treated my bun. They had the best recommendations and the treatment we opted for had him feeling back to normal within 24 hrs. I'm so grateful for the entire team. We knew this was likely end of life for her, and we called around several places to find someone who could help us. VEG was recommended by the Long Beach Animal Hospital and my sister called them to find out if they could see us. Staff was kind over the phone and explained everything including potential costs to her. When my mother and I arrived with our bird (about a 30-40 minute drive from our home), they took us immediately to a room and did their best to make her comfortable. The vet came quickly and was able to assess that we were right, she was end of life unfortunately. They moved us to a private room where we were able to hold her and say our goodbyes while they prepared for her euthanasia. It was heartbreaking, but every staff member offered us kindness, compassion, and comfort. We were given hugs as we cried after she passed, and offered several options for her remains. The entire staff we interacted with made sure that we were okay and let us know our options and timelines for any changes and gave us their condolences. I came in with my pet bird because she was vomitting and had diarrhea not knowing what had caused it since I was having dinner somewhere else. The vets kept asking me what she had eaten because only then could they get to the root of the problem. I had answered that she only ate vegetables and her regular diet and would occasionally feed her approved proteins. Soon after, they drew blood and he told me that she had acute renal failure but did not know the cause of it, and we would have to wait a full 24 hours to draw blood again. The night vet there had successfully hydrated her with IV's and in a sense, brought her back to me for about 10-15 minutes. She was acting completely normal (and loopy) since they had to give her gas to calm her before they put the cone on her. When she was still being fussy, he decided to sedate her. She was not normal after this, she was very quiet and sleepy, but since I was distraught I did not want to think anything of it and just thought of her being asleep (please keep in mind this is 2am/3am and I am very tired myself. After this the vet said that he wasn't sure if she was going to make it because of her disease. I am still not too sure if it's true but I trusted him. He told me I could stay in one of the rooms overnight if I felt comfortable, but if I wanted to go home too I could do that as well. It seemed they wanted me to stay there but I have 4 other fur babies to take care of so I was not able to stay. I went back home around 4:30am as soon as I saw she was stable. The next morning I kept calling to see how she was doing and the morning vet said she was doing "really good" and she was "active" and acting "normal". I didn't get to the vet until 2pm and when I saw her she was in fact not normal, not active, and not doing good. She was quiet and when I called her name, she was minimally responsive. When I went to ask the morning doctor he stated "she is just acting dead because of the cone, a lot of birds tend to act that way". And I didn't believe him, I kept asking why she isn't responding and if they had given her another sedative. They told me they didn't, only the antibiotics and she had eaten fine just moments ago. I am not sure what they had given her to eat, because obviously it did not look like it had sit well with her body because of her "disease". About 30 minutes passed, and she started panting and making weak noises, I told them what's going on and they said she wasn't going to make it. 2 1/2 hours later, my bird passed away. I just have many questions regarding my experience, for instance, why would they lie and say she was fine and give me hope that everything would be ok? I think that was very heartless of them to state that to give me hope. The morning staff also had no idea what they were doing as the doctor even stated that he did not know how to care for birds? Why did they sedate her when she was doing just fine early in the morning? Did they overdose her with medications that her little body couldn't handle when I wasn't there? Please do your research before you take your babies anywhere, I had to learn a very extremely hard lesson and lose my pet bird of 16 years. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because they did momentarily bring her back, and the night doctor was more educated about birds than the morning staff. At least the night doctor was more realistic with me and had more knowledge regarding what could happen. Otherwise, I am never coming here ever again. read more

This review is for Dr. Cody and the amazing VEG staff. Our German shepherd started having nosebleeds out of nowhere and we had no clue what to do. We went to another emergency vet hospital which provided little help, but we are glad we found this hospital! We called VEG and were able to speak with Dr. Cody immediately, explaining our shepherd's symptoms. The entire staff was calming and supportive throughout the entire process. As soon as we walked in, they treated our dog with so much kindness, respect and compassion. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR PET TO LIVE! Our dog was having breathing problem so we took her in on the weekend since our specialist wasn't open on the weekend. She has underlaying health issues that has been well under control over years. She has history of pneumonia so just want to be safe, we want to check if she got that again with an xray so she can take antibiotic earlier than Monday. The doctor did a basic check up, no blood test, no xray(they refused to do an xray, saying they cant do it without putting our dog's life in danger) They directly took our dog to the oxygen room without asking for our agreement, they gave her medicine without asking for our agreement. And the doctor just bluntly said we only have two options, either we put her down or have her stay in intensive care in oxygen room for 12 hours. We know our dog, she was eating drinking and everything ok, they said she's going in a critical heart failure and is guilt tripping us to decide on that two options without any thorough tests. From years of owning senior pets and visiting vets, we learned a lot from this type of suspicious diagnose and decided to take her home. We took our dog to our trusty specialist that we've been for years on Monday, they did an xray easily and it was just pneumonia and her heart is still under control with no worsening. WE ARE FURIOUS!! They tried to persuade us to kill our dog for their profit, either killing or trying to suck blood out of concerning pet owners. If it's not that we have been seeing too many of this type of vet in the past with traumatizing experience, we might have believed in them and caused more harm to our senior dog. If you want your pet to have the right diagnose, DO NOT GO HERE! They will do everything to try to get you to pay for anything they can. They will see your senior pet as a bucket of money to drain and not cherish their precious time. Our dog is already recovering from taking antibiotic and back to her normal self after the right diagnose. Imagine pet owners without the heart breaking experience trusting this place just making me furious!!! So here I want to warn any pet owner who cherish their pets' life, go somewhere else! read more

Staff were very nice, but they capitalize on pain. They wanted to charge us $6,000 to save our cat from a blocked urinary tract. He was only 2 years old and we could not afford it. We had no choice other than to euthanize him. They at least waived the fee for that. Capitalizing on the desperation and pain of others is the American medical system. Very sad. read more

Honestly one of the BEST services I have ever received. My 6 month old puppy wasn't feeling too well and early Sunday morning so he needed to be seen immediately. I took him to about emergency vet before I took him here wanted about an hour to get an update, wasn't able to see him it be with him and something just didn't sit well. I called VEG and Amanda picked up the phone I told her what my puppy Enzo was experiencing told me to make sure my puppy was okay enough to bring him in. I told her I would call her back to confirm with the other staff she was so caring that SHE FOLLOWED UP WITH ME. I immediately knew that I had to bring them here. Amanda made the team aware so they can have O2 and everything ready for Enzo and the team was so reassuring it made me feel at ease. The best part I was able to be by my puppy! We had to stay the night and everyone made us feel at home they're all so attentive and ALL of their personalities are amazing! They followed up consistently on Enzo's wellbeing and also mine. They also have rooms where you can stay with your pup if they aren't on O2 which eventually we were able to go into. Never have I ever had such an amazing experience as how I did as soon as I stepped in the door with Enzo with any other vet. If I could give one million star rating I would but sadly yelp only gives us 5 lol thank you so much team for helping my puppy slowing but surely get better and making him feel so loved and also allowing me to be able to be a part of his experience here ! They called me a racist because I told the assistant I couldn't understand the vet, they told me to leave after my 2 dogs and I had been waiting for 3 hours. The Dr said my dog was seeking attention, and that's why she was moaning in pain. He said she didn't have pancreatitis. She was just looking for attention. He was WRONG, she ended up having pancreatitis. It was a HORRIBLE experience. Clearly, they DO NOT care about animals. When I went back in to get my med list, women said. Get out of here, or I will call the police. I was scared for my dog that was very ill and it was horrible what they did. Second Visit, my elderly dog giving me the worst anxiety when anything happens to her these days. Today I came home from work and it looked like her eyelid was bulging out. The staff I worked with today was Holly and Chloe, they make you feel at home and don't try to rush you out just to make money. They work to make sure that your animal and yourself are better than when you came in. Chloe even tried the doggy treat before giving it to mine, she wanted to make sure it didn't taste bad. My rabbit, Waffles, was in GI Stasis and it was difficult to find a vet available soon enough to treat him since they are considered "exotic" pets. We are so grateful we found VEG and were able to bring him in right away. Most clinics only have 1 vet available at a time but VEG had multiple vets and staff members so we were able to be seen as soon as we got in the door. They were so gentle with him and even allowed us to go into a separate room so that he could free roam while they ran tests. He had to be hospitalized overnight and the staff encouraged us to stay overnight with him! They even have a pull out couch, sheets, and pillows to make us as comfortable as possible. They are open 24/7 so we were able to go back and be with him in the middle of the night. Turns out he was experiencing pain because he needs his teeth trimmed asap. He just had his annual check up with another vet a few weeks ago who said he was fine so we will now be taking him to the vet that VEG recommended instead. Dr. Bianca Wellard was so kind and helpful in answering my millions of questions, I wish she could be our primary vet! I can't recommend VEG enough and will be taking all 5 of our pets there for any future emergency needs! read more

She (dog) had a seizure cluster so the Dr. recommended we transport her there. The entire staff was outstanding; friendly, caring and compassionate They put my dog on a treatment table and the wife and I were able to stay with her the entire time they were treating her. Once they stabilized her they had a room for us to stay overnight if we chose to do so, with our dog staying in the room with us. I was extremely impressed with the entire staff and facility. At the last minute of needing emergency care for my dog I was told about VEG- Veterinary Emergency Group. They were more than worth the 30 minute drive to get there. It is a place where you are never separated from your pet which is good for you and good for them. You enter and your pet receives care in a large open room where the family can hold the paw or pet the body while your dog gets iv, lab work or whatever else is needed. We entered about 9pm and my dog was put on seizure watch for the night. They had a little room for families and provided a bed where my dog Buddy could lay beside me all night rather than in a back room alone and frightened if he ever came out of his seizure status. The staff and Vet were so accommodating and helpful for whatever my Buddy needed. They monitored him all night and the vet spoke to me in detail about Buddy's status and realistic recovery. I have been telling all the pet owners I know about this wonderful place that bridges the gap between your pet needing skilled medical care and not being separated from their human family. They did not give the level of care to my dog that I had hoped. They were not watching her as closely as they should have therefore she ended up eating a lot of her poop and I was blamed for that. She also got covered in poop many times due to her condition and instead of helping her and being sympathetic the doctor just seemed annoyed that they had to bathe her several times which I have to say they did a very bad job of as poop was still on her in a lot of places after picking her up . At one point I saw blood coming out of her iv. I quickly notified a nurse and she said oh no that isn't supposed to happen let me take care of that. If I hadn't notified them how long would she have stayed like that? They also sedated her so badly that she couldn't even walk, lift her head, open her eyes or even acknowledge me. They claim she was upset in the cage and trying to get out but come on that sedated? That was enough to put a horse down, insane! In addition after a very expensive night there they just said well we can't do anything else for her here so take her to a specialist instead of telling me that it was her time, she was suffering and that it was best to just let her go. In addition, when we were getting discharge instructions and medications and about to leave the Dr, we had been dealing with Dr. Ortiz didn't even come over, wish us luck or say goodbye. It was very unprofessional and not very kind at all! Needless to say we picked her up, took her back to our regular vet the next day and he was able to tell us right away she's suffering and we aren't going to be able to make her better, best thing to do is let her go. I luckily was able to do that with peace of mind, frankness from the doctor and with the vet's entire staff's care and love. I would never and will never return here again! They give bad care to the animals, do not watch them 24/7 like promised and don't seem to want to be bothered nor disturbed. And DR. Ortiz was the absolute worst! Save your money and got to an ER that cares and treats your animal with love, care and respect! read more

If I could give a 0 star I would. Came here about 1 month ago for my German shepherd when he had an emergency with his tail. His tail got infected awhile ago after another vet did an operation a year before and just made it 10x worse and didn't want to hold themselves accountable for their mistake. That one was anaheim hills pet clinic FYI. When I brought my boy here they legit charged me 1100$ to barely look at my dog for 7 minutes and we explained what was going on with him and after paying that amount, the doctor legit asked me WHAT WE WANT TO DO. I brought my dog for you to help him and I paid the 250$ consultation fee and YOU ARE THE DOCTOR AND YOU ARE ASKING ME WHAT WE SHOULD DO??? Thankfully I held in my emotions instead of asking what I originally wanted too. My dog had really bad bleeding from his tail and we told her he's already lost too much blood and we don't think taking off the wrapping for him to lose more is a good idea. She ended up still doing it. Just staring at my dog while he's losing a bunch of blood and I legit had to go out of my way like "hey what are you doing he's losing pints of blood and she wasn't even caring to stop it or do anything. The nurse actually did more then the actual doctor. And then they sold us medication for 800$ and when we left we found out we can get the same medication everywhere else for 90-180$. 1 month later my boy got worse and I took him to the emergency vet hospital in Corona. They took him in right away gave him an IV did blood work and X-rays in the span of 10 mins and unfortunately my boy had got really bad cancer in his lungs from a tumor that spread from another part of his body. He couldn't walk and barely was breathing. This place could've done there job 1-2 months ago when I brought my boy in, but instead was just wondering how much money they can get out of us. At Corona I paid 950$ for the consultation X-rays bloodwork and to stabilize my dog. While this place charges me more and couldn't even do any tests to see what was going on or refer us to this place, only was able to refer us to another bunch of scammer vets like themselves. My dog was like my son and he was my everything to me and my family. Even if this place did actual tests or offer us that in the first place maybe I could've done everything for my boy before it was too late and at least try my best to help him no matter what. He recently just turned 8 years old and the life and treatment I've always given him made me hope I wouldn't have to wait for this day for another few more years. But it happened last night unfortunately. So please if you love your pet like I do, DO NOT COME HERE, YOU ARE 100% BETTER OFF DRIVING TO CORONA OR ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THEN HERE. YOUR BETTER OFF RISKING YOUR PETS LIFE GOING FURTHER THEN COMING HERE. THEY WONT EVEN SHOW SYMPATHY OR DO ANYTHING IF YOUR DOG IS ON THE VERGE OF DEATH UNTIL THEY KNOW YOU HAVE MONEY. Wish I can remember the doctors name there but lucky for her I can't. Dr Omar in Corona was hands down an amazing person and human who actually cares for your loved pets and showed compassion and sympathy and the whole staff there did what real vets are supposed to do. We could not find any other emergency hospitals to help this hospital. Welcomed us with open arms jumped on our urgent dog that we were on The Verge of losing. An did such an amazing job with her and making me feel so comfortable the entire time that I will always keep this as my emergency hospital for my non-profit rescue. And also for my personal dogs. The facilities are amazing and the concept of being able to stay with your pet the whole time is great - for both the pet and owner. They even offer snacks, water and coffee.
