I removeld my review about a year ago because they refunded me partially for my visit but I didn't feel good morally about removing it. So I decided to come back and rewrite one because how they treated my guinea pig mini was not right. We waited 4 hours to be seen. My guinea pig was bleeding from her vagina and when they finally came to see her they took her temperature by shoving the thermometer up her butt which was already bleeding. I really hope they don't do this anymore and the owner called me and told me that they would change this but I feel like I should still post this just in case they are still practicing this. My guinea pig started screaming in pain and the veterinarian said they always do this and this is the only way to check temperatures which I know is not true because I've owned guinea pigs for 7 years. My dog, Kobe, was constipated and I rushed him to this place because they were the only vet taking walk ins. Since I did a walk in, my partner and I had to wait about 7 hours because they had a handful of patients to take care of first. Despite the wait, the team was very caring and checked in on us and Kobe. They even have free cookies, tea, and coffee at the front which I thought was so thoughtful of them because I was stressing out about my dog. Dr. Tracy helped us along with a few other nice women. They gave Kobe an x-ray, 2 enema, and liquids under his skin to help him defecate. Dr. Tracy told me that the best option was to hospitalize Kobe but she also gave us another option which was to take him home and give him medication. Taking him home was more budget friendly for us so we chose that and now 2 weeks later, Kobe is doing well and now poops on a regular basis. The last option was to put him down and I will admit, that made me tear up so Dr. Tracy brought us to a private room to talk and think things through. The total of the whole visit and procedures equated to about $1,344.72 including the given medications. Thank you to the whole team for helping us and being so patient. My husband and I were so impressed with Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), which we happened upon somewhat by accident. It felt like a very modern place, where they listened to what people want in a vet and succeeded in achieving that: We had a pretty traumatic day yesterday when our pup got into a fisherman's bag and got hooked in the mouth and arm. We rushed him to VEG, and were triaged immediately. Below are the pros: 1. The facility was nice, spacious, and well-staffed. Everyone was incredibly empathetic and seemed to want to be there to help animals, despite it being a holiday! They were BUSY, but no one gave off "I'm too busy for you" or stressed vibes. They were able to meet every customer with empathy and care. We first entered with my 2 young kids, and they offered the kids snacks, water, and coloring books. 2. They really listened to ensure personalized medicine. I mentioned that my dog's prior experience with sedation left him a bit high. I wasn't sure if it was because I picked him up faster, or if he was sensitive to medications. The vet listened intently and adjusted her treatment plan to start the sedatives light. 3. They were price transparent and reasonable in cost. As soon as the vet understood the situation and gave me a broad view of her management plan, she put together a quote before moving forward with care. And the price didn't change (how many times have we gone to the vet and throughout the examination or teeth extraction, they would suddenly charge us an additional few thousand....really crazy). Given the emergency situation, we really mentally prepared ourselves for the bill, but we were pleasantly surprised by the cost. It was 5 times less than what we'd imagined, and they did not change this after the procedure - even though they needed to pivot to do a little incision and keep my pup sedated a little longer than anticipated. 4. They let me stay with my dog the entire time. I can't tell you what relief came with this for me. My dog takes so much comfort in me - when he was hooked, he really just wanted to cuddle into me and lay still. They met me in the waiting room and placed the IV while he was in my arms. I think this was essential because every time he moved, the hooks embedded deeper in his arm, so if they had tried to remove him from me, things would have gotten worse. They drew labs, placed the IV, and sedated him right in the waiting room! They also removed the hook from his lip there as well. The arm hook needed a small incision out of an abundance of caution to ensure the barbs didn't cut any internal structures, so they moved him to the surgical table. During the transition, my dog started to wake up, and in the mean time of getting more medication, he took comfort in seeing me still there by his side. 5. They reversed the sedation! I guess I don't know if this is normal/routine because I've never been allowed to stay with my pet, but I loved that they were aware of his heart rate and respiratory rate and the second he didn't need to be sedated, they reversed the sedation. He woke up quickly and was doing so well pretty immediately afterward! The only con would be that they were so busy that we sat there for 3.5 hours in the waiting room. However, I will say though - as someone who hates waiting, the above environment and supportive staff made it completely bearable. They did triage us immediately and mentioned that the hook wasn't in a dangerous location, so it wasn't emergent. They popped out and talked to me throughout to make sure Turbo was still doing okay, and tried to take care of me as well by offering to get me water etc. It was such a relief that my husband put in the wrong vet ER and we ended up here, because it was our best vet experience despite being our first non-routine care!! read more

I remain astonished by the exceptional open concept layout of the hospital which keeps one's pet visible and attended to by the staff at all times. The vet and nurses on call included me in stitching my pet's paw and ear evaluation. Our recent visit at VEG is an exemplary model of emergency treatment for our beloved pets. Our dog is more than 15 years old and was experiencing leg weakness, back pain and loss of appetite. We brought him into VEG after seeing many great reviews. From the moment we entered the facility, it was an amazing experience. The entire team is caring, compassionate and professional. The gentleman at the front desk immediately greeted us and brought us into the examination area. He offered us water/tea/coffee and cookies during our visit. When we left, it was raining quite hard and he even walked me to the car with one of the several umbrellas they have in their waiting room. The vet techs checked our dog's vital signs and a vet, Dr. Molly, assessed him. After the assessment, she went over her findings and recommendations for treatment. The treatment plan was sent to me via text, reviewed, and approved by me. The second text was to process payment. While the costs appeared to be expensive, I understand that medical costs for pets (as well as for humans) is not cheap and as a medical facility that is staffed 24/7 with the latest technology, medical equipment and surgical suite it is to be expected. My dog received an injection of pain med, Xrays, blood draw, ultrasound, and a lymph node biopsy. Afterwards, we were ushered to a private room with our dog to await results. Dr. Molly spent a lot of time thoroughly explaining the test results and advised she would call us back with the pathology report asap. While unfortunately our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma, we were impressed with VEG's treatment and care of our dog. VEG forwarded all of the medical records associated with this visit to our regular vet so we can discuss the next plan for treatment. 5 stars for sure! I i've had three experiences now here and all have been so great. Unfortunately, our bearded dragon had a mass and was very sickly. We brought her in and they immediately rushed to do what they could for her. The second time, my dog had a paw infection. Everyone was so attentive and great with her. My dogs summertime allergies are acting up again and her paws are starting to get inflamed, so, being that it's Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, I called just to get some information in case I needed to bring her in over the weekend. I spoke with Dr. Molly tonight and she was so awesome! She spent her time to give me great advice as to what I could do at home to help my dog. It's almost a year now that my beloved Pom has gone. I feel now that I have a bit clarity on my experience without feeling too emotional. If I was to sum up the feeling, it would be that the doctor did not have compassion. We were rushed to make a decision for my pet to be euthanized. There was only one doctor during the shift change. The morning doctor was left to triage more than she can handle. The evening doctor left me with a decision of an X-ray needed to be done when and charged me even though the they didn't even use it. I was very conflicted bc the doctor did not give any confidence when presenting my options. Overall that day still haunts me and uneasy. read more

Absolutely amazing experience here with the VEG team! Dr. Falk and the other technicians (im sorry I didn't get your names T.T) were able to make Charlie feel comfortable and not as scared. It was just before the day before Thanksgiving when we brought him in and even though they were a bit busy in the morning, they took their time to handle and care for the other furry patients as they should. They checked up on as often and made sure we were comfortable. Dr. Falk was an absolute angel. We really appreciate her help and suggestions! We ended up just going with one solution which was to give Charlie an anti-nausea shot and he had sprung back to life and started eating again as soon as we got home! 10/10 i would bring my cats here again if needed. read more

This is the best veterinary care I've ever experienced. I wish they had non ER also. I brought my cat in because the regular vet recommended taking him to an ER. The entire staff was incredible. So kind and honest. I got to be with my boy the entire time. I was able to hold him even when he got an IV. It meant so much to me because I didn't have to worry about how stressed he was or where he was. I loved how they have a large open room and so wasn't shut in a room the whole time. i wasn't sure how this place could have over 150 reviews on google and yelp and still have a pristine 5.0 rating. but after coming in last night with my dog, it's very clear why there is not a single review below 5 stars. i could not have asked for a better team to treat my dog. my dog was attacked by a larger dog last week and started having severe swelling on the head, that seemed to be getting worse. he became lethargic and lost his appetite. i could tell that his pain was worsening. i called them at 2am, crying because I was so worried about my dog's wound. even just through the phone, the vets were incredibly supportive and empathetic. i felt reassured and relieved by the vet's responses over the phone. i immediately brought my dog to VEG after the call, and stayed there from 2am to 5am. all of the staff were extremely empathetic, kind, genuine, and knowledgeable. you can really feel the chemistry of the team and how much they care. the energy and vibe throughout the clinic was so warm, welcoming, and comforting. dr. wickham was the vet in charge of my dog's treatment. she and her team were super upfront, open, and flexible about the treatment and price. the treatment went really well, and i could immediately tell how relieved my dog felt after. he's practically back to his normal self now--though, he has a funny little haircut until his fur grows out again. i am so happy that i chose to come to VEG out of all the urgent care clinics in the area. i will definitely be recommending this place to all the pet lovers i know. thank you guys for everything :D read more

I came to them after my cat Kuromi got abdominal surgery at another vet. I had a pretty bad experience with the previous clinic I had gone to for her surgery, so I felt on edge going into VEG. I feel bad for not being more friendly with the employees because I was just feeling so stressed about everything, but regardless of my attitude the staff was incredibly kind and caring. The energy in the clinic was very warm and safe, and it was clear they really wanted to help me and Kuromi. Furthermore, they were so understanding of my financial situation and really helped me do the best for my baby with what I had which I will forever be appreciative of. They were so supportive and validated my feelings, which is the energy I wish I received from the previous clinic. It's only been about five days and Kuromi is already completely back to being herself and I could not be happier :)) read more

Pros: - Moved with urgency when we got there. - Male vet with the colorful hair, Rob, I believe was very kind and helpful. Cons: - Did not receive an update from the doctor on my dog until I went out my way to ask what was wrong with him. - The entire time Dr. Carmona was explaining that my dog was going into heart failure and that he could possibly die today, she non stop would mention invoices with what felt like every other sentence. Also would non-stop keep throwing in a $1400 charge for a cardiologist on top of the $6k they wanted to charge us. On top of that, she didn't even have the decency to stand up while telling us the news. Couldn't even speak to us with an ounce of empathy either. Made it seem like we were inconveniencing her to do her job if anything. Just unprofessional and lazy. Mind you she never even apologized after another vet relayed this info to her. The vet ended up apologizing on her behalf. - They took my dogs blood and had a catheter in him for no reason?? They had no plans on running the blood test unless we agreed to pay $6k+ to keep him there overnight. They ended up refunding us for that. So ridiculously greedy. On the late afternoon of July 5th, my dog, Buster was showing signs & symptoms of distress. He had diarrhea in the morning then, past the afternoon, he had diarrhea, vomited a total of 6x, was very lethargic, weak, had no appetite, and had a very hard time breathing. I admitted Buster on the same day around 5:30 PM. Jazz, one of the vet techs was the first to welcome us into the hospital and help admit Buster in. Dr. Sparks came over voluntarily and took on Buster's case. Both worked with each other diligently to help Buster upon admission. Buster suddenly had really bad diarrhea with blood during the visit so I became more worried. With all of Buster's worsening signs & symptoms, the staff got to work right away. Buster got blood work done, did an ultrasound, and got x-rays by Jazz & the vet tech assistant, Kayla. I liked that I got to watch all the procedures. It set my mind at ease that Buster was in great hands. Dr. Sparks thoroughly went through each procedure's results with me to proceed with further steps. She was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Buster needed to be hospitalized and had to stay the night so 2 other vet techs, Nicole & Melanie, did a great job putting Buster's catheter in. Again, it helped reduce my anxiety being able to watch everything and see them & everyone working so efficiently. Jazz & Kayla set up my private room where I was going to stay overnight with Buster. Yes, you read that correctly. If needed, you get to stay in a room overnight with your pet! I don't think any other hospitals offer this so it was great literally being at Buster's side the entire time. Throughout the evening, a friendly vet tech named Natalie was in charge of monitoring Buster. She was very on top with Buster's schedule to take blood pressure readings, check vitals, monitor his fluids machine, and even helped clean him up when he had diarrhea again. I woke up the next morning to Buster's new bedside vet tech, Vy. She was just as friendly, efficient, and reliable as Natalie was in keeping Buster stable. Buster also now had a new doctor on Buster's case: Dr. Dhatona. She was also professional and knowledgeable. She gave straight-forward, easy instructions upon Buster's discharge and was clear on what steps would be next to maintain stability. All in all, VEG saved Buster's life. I can not be more grateful and appreciative for all the wonderful staff who took diligent care of my baby boy! THANK YOU SO MUCH, VEG TEAM! read more

I got a senior discount and donated it back to their local pets in need fund, another good sign in a practice.
