Both were OK but lacking in flavor. For dessert we got the cannoli and the specialty bread pudding. For an Italian restaurant the cannoli was a disaster and the bread pudding is definitely not recommended. Service was pretty good until our server decided to pick up the check after we had already paid and we were still eating. Good manners dictate that the paid check should obviously be picked up when customers leave or at least be fully done eating. read more

We've been wanting to try this restaurant out for ages. We finally had lunch here today. We were both really impressed with the food, service, and ambiance. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone was really pleasant and our server Garridan was very helpful. The owner Giacomuno Drago stopped by and we had a nice little chat with him. His other 2 restaurants Il Pastaio and Piccolo Paradiso are also amazing. We started out with their delicious bread. The minute we bit into the bread we knew the food was going to be good. We had one of my favourite dishes - Linguini Vongole . It was simply delicious. My husband had the Pizza Prosciutto with a lovely thin crust and white sauce - yummy. Before I start, I thank Hid that I am blessed enough to eat out.. The service was relatively okay. But the food was not the quality expected of Canon Drive and Dayton Way. First the code came with cup having lipstick on it. Lipstick that didn't belong to my wife. The Caesar salad was okay but the chicken on it looked like cut pita bread. My lentil soup was so salty that I had to add vinegar and oil to it so it can be consumed. The best thing going is the ambience. I got a pizza to go and a chicken parmigiana for my son. I was driving by and ready for lunch and this place looked nice. Twinkling lights. Open air windows. I am SO happy I came here for lunch. Everything was pitch perfect. The bread is served warm and freshly baked with a crunchy crust. Garridan, the server, recommended the special papardelle with duck. I'm not even a big duck guy. But I absolutely loved it. I asked for a wine recommendation and the barolo he suggested was incredible. I decided to wrap things up with a cappuccino and, of course, it was also amazing. I will absolutely be back. I absolutely love this restaurant. It's pricey, but not "oh it's Beverly Hills and I can't afford it" pricey. Their food has never disappointed, regardless of what I ordered. Last night was my 4th time back and we celebrated my friends' birthday. They could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed the food and ambiance. (Think, Andrea Bocelli swooning you while you dine.) Reservations were extremely easy to make on OpenTable and we used valet when we got there. Valet was $15 (Jan 2023). We were seated right away and although the seating host was a bit snobby, the rest of the staff were truly delightful. My favorite appetizer is their calamari. Came here on Cinco de Mayo, a lazy Sunday after 2pm, it was relaxing with no wait. Surprisingly not busy. Got to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. If you haven't had black truffle pizza this is the place to go with its amazing crispy thin crust. You don't wanna waste a crumb. Also the pasta in vodka sauce is amazing. I celebrated my birthday at Via Alloro with friends (total was 4 adults and 2 toddlers, both age one). The service from beginning to end was honestly horrible and disappointing. The waiter asked if we wanted regular or sparkling water, so I chose regular. He charged both kids for bread. He got our desert orders wrong and didn't even bring my friend her desert! When the bill came, I kindly asked to comp our deserts since it took OVER 30 minutes for him to bring them out AND he got my order wrong AND he didn't bring my friend's desert! He declined to comp it even though time is money. I asked why he charged us around $20 for water, and he said because I ordered regular water. I said that he didn't even offer us tap water, and he quickly said, "Yes, I did. I had asked you if you wanted regular, tap, or sparkling." LIE. He realized his error, so he agreed to remove the cost of the water. He then said that he didn't charge us gratuity for being a party of 6, and I thanked him. Next thing I know, he brings the receipt and says "I removed the water but added gratuity." WHAT? Our bill increased as a result!! HOW PETTY AND UNNECESSARY!!!! I told him that his actions were unfair and disrespectful because he didn't communicate that ahead of time and essentially did it behind my back. He also charged us $4 to split the toddlers' food and he had NOT informed us that there would be a charge. He just wanted to stack on costs wherever he could!!!!! I do NOT recommend Via Alloro - their service is clearly horrible and they embarrassed me in front of my new friends on my birthday of all days!!!!!! Overall, this place is okay, but not spectacular. Nestled in the middle of Beverly Hills, the vibe can sometimes be fun but a nuisance at other times. For example, several loud cars and smokers passed our table while trying to enjoy a family dinner. Regarding the service, nothing was spectacular. Food came in a reasonable time, but the wait staff could have been more attentive and friendly, and some staff wore casual streetwear under their uniforms, making things feel a bit cheap/tacky. And of course, the food. While our starters were all delicious, our entreés were a bit bland/underseasoned, and a few had to get remade due to coming out cold or not being what we asked for. And the value? Not the best. Unless you are getting a pasta dish, expect to pay around $50 for a single entrée. Drinks are $18 for a cocktail, which is a bit on the higher side but not outrageous. The have a lovely outdoor patio with heaters that felt secluded from the busy street. Parking is easy if you don't mind walking. They have plenty of lots that have two hour free parking and metered parking on the streets. The waiters were good bringing bread when we sat down after we ordered and they kept filling up our waters. We orderly a few different pizza's and they came fairly quickly. The margarita pizza is a classic and was good, but the Pizza Bianca Con Prosciutto with Fresh Arugula was unique and delicious. The crust is very thin so you can eat the entire pizza fairly guilt free. I did take away one star because from my understanding they are known for having an extensive wine bar. However, my first two choices they were out of which left me fairly limited options. Also the restrooms were rather dirty and they were out of toilet seat covers. I would come back and recommend if you are looking for a cute couples, friends night or even a company event or birthday. You can wear anything from semi causal to semi formal would fit right in.
