We made reservations here on the recommendation of a friend and seeing the high Yelp reviews confirmed our choice. It takes something exceptional for a Mexican restaurant to stand out from the many others, and Villa Real does this with both great food and exceptional service. The chips are light and crispy and I appreciated that each guest in our party received our own bowl of salsa. My chicken quesadillas were loaded with tender chicken and accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. What impressed me most, though, is the manner with which they resolved a complaint. After coming home, I realized that our server had inadvertently sent me home with my friend's leftovers and vice-versa. Since I had eaten less than half of my dish, I decided to call the restaurant to make them aware of this. The manager, Bridgett, handled my feedback with such truly exceptional customer service and professionalism! Delicious food and great service. Pricy Tex mex food with many steak and seafood choices. The ice tea was full of flavor, combination of many fruitflavors, yet unsweetened! House margaritas were yummy. We tried the coconut jumbo shrimp and Chilean Sea bass and both were delivered ready to be photographed and were delicious. I was expecting my steak to be slightly juicy because it was medium cooked but nope, still dry. And wife had something that had enchiladas and that was not tasty. Definitely wouldn't go back. The ceviche was AMAZING. I loved how it had such a unique taste to it due to the fact they put orange in it. I got the salmon plate and it was good as well. My salmon had some weird dressing on top of it that had a sweet kick to it. Lastly, the caramelized pecan cheesecake definitely fulfilled my sweet cravings. read more

Friendly hosts greeted us warmly. Our reserved table was nicely tucked in a corner, giving us a great view of the dining space. An elegant and well-appointed restaurant. The owner and manager greeted us separately and genuinely inquired about our needs and experience. Wait-staff was knowledgeable, well rehearsed, and friendly. The flaming filet was impeccably seasoned and cooked to perfection. Enchilada was delish. I don't recommend the chili relleno; it was stuffed with what tasted like repurposed pork succatosh, and it reminded me of cruise ship recycle dining. By the time I got around to tasting the crispy taco, it was a little soggy. The Jalapeno Margarita lacked luster. Definitely will come back and try different menu selections. read more

I like coming here every once in a while. The food is quite good and they offer a good choice of dishes, as well as many fine Mexican dishes. Based on the clientele and the setup, this is a classy place. Whenever I've come here, the service has been great. They are very attentive and make sure your glass is always full. The owner comes around to greet customers but usually skips my table which is not a problem. I think they have a lot of local regulars that she recognizes. They also provide unlimited sales and chips which helps as you wait for the food to arrive. Honestly, I have only order the Mexican food here once. Instead I've tried several of their meat or fish dishes and they are usually very good which is why I keep ordering the special or another entree whenever I eat here. My group and I travelled across the street from The Four Seasons because we were turned off by the hotel's restaurant. Happy to say it was worth that (3 minute) walk! Each person at the table was given their own salsa dish which eliminate all double dipping worries! Salsa was a tad disappointing since I like my salsa spicy and light. Their salsa was heavier and tomatoey. Food - I had the $13 Taco Enchilada Tamale meal. If you're not a big eater, you can order 2 of 3 for mere $10! The meal comes with spanish rice and black beans. So damn good! Like everything. It's a buffet. A little bit more heavy on your pockets, but definitely worth it. The have a huge selection. Fresh shrimp, fajitas (both steak and chicken), eggs, bacon, waffles, omelettes and the list goes on and on. Did i mention they do unlimited mimosas and poinsettias? Yeah. I think this is why the price is great. My personal favorite was something that looked like Chicken Florentine. I visited Via Real for brunch on my first visit last year and it was nice. Last night I visited for dinner. Parking is available as it is in a strip center with dedicated parking in addition to the parking for other establishments. Edgar was my server. He was very professional and helpful in my choices for ordering. I ordered the Via Real salad as my starter. The basil vinaigrette dressing was nice and the salad was fresh and light. For my entree I ordered the black bean ravioli dish. Very tastey and full of flavor. It was a lot for me, so I brought the remainder home. For dessert I ordered the bread pudding. This was my first visit to Via Real and I have to say, I was very impressed. Me and one of my buddies from college that I haven't seen in over 20 years decided to give this place a go. There was a mix up with the waiter at the very beginning and when one of the Managers noticed that we didn't have drinks on the table within 5 minutes he assigned another waiter and apologized several times throughout the night. Honestly, I had not felt put off in the slightest, however they run a tight ship there and want all of their patrons to have a first class dinning experience. The chips and salsa and queso were all tasty. I had the pork loin fajitas and the taste was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the fact that the menu was as diverse as it was. The prices were fair and while it would be totally possible to drop $400 on a date there, there were many affordable options as well. The lighting and decor were very nice. Good food with fantastic service. I have been to Via Real a handful of times. I think the concept of upscale Mexican food is ironic but, if there is such a thing, Via Real does it well. Their food is consistently good and they have, in addition to what you would expect, many fish options on their menu. The service is exemplary. It is pricey but the food is high end. The parking though... it is too much. You will have to either valet or park and hoof it to the restaurant. This parking lot is shared with a bank, other restaurants, a grocery store, and other businesses. I don't know that I would bring kids here. read more

Really nothing impressive. As others have noted, this place seems to be created with old midwestern white people in mind. Our waiter reassured us over and over again "don't worry, nothing is spicy here" as if that was a good thing, and sure enough I'm skeptical if they have any seasoning in that kitchen. I got the rancher's special, which included a bland cheese enchilada, the most boring taco I've ever seen, and a pork chile relleno. This chile relleno was not fried - which I didn't even know was an option - but I'm willing to give them a pass on that; the contents were very disappointing too however. We were in town for a soccer tournament from the Chicago suburbs, and decided to visit Via Real to celebrate Father's Day. Such a great decision! The food was delicious, and service was spectacular. Eddie did a great job explaining the menu. We started with a round of margaritas and calamari, which was delicious. For our main entree, we ordered the steak and sea bass dinner, which was out of this world! Our daughter enjoyed our meal so much, that she dropped a portion of my meal on the floor when she was trying to sneak it from my plate. Eddie and management went above and beyond, and replaced the portion my daughter had dropped. It was completely unexpected, but very appreciated! Our group grew from our initial reservation and the staff was quick to respond and get an additional table set up to accommodate our add ins. Jesus was our server and he was very professional and responsive to our group. Everyone was happy with our experience and had a nice time. Went here for lunch on my birthday. Wanted to go somewhere that looked nice on the inside. Very classy interior. The bathroom even had mouthwash in a fancy glass bottle. The food was pretty good and was a reasonable price. Although, I don't know what to the pricing is like at night. We told them it was my birthday. They brought out a flan and the waiter took my picture with our camera but with a digital camera as well. I didn't think much of it. Maybe it was for the restaurant. Well, before we left, he brought out a birthday card with my picture printed out and inserted inside. I thought that was really sweet and a nice touch. Never seen that done at a restaurant before. My stand-by is grilled vegetable fajitas, add grilled shrimp and everything is perfectly cooked. Just to name a few of my favorites: egg benedicts, lobster bisque, seafood enchiladas, tamales. They also had a build your own omelet station which I didn't have the chance to try. On their dessert table, they had an array of fruits, flan, cheesecake, and macarons amongst other things. The service was really great too! We had a little too much to drink, understandably with bottomless mimosas/poinsettias, and our server was accommodating.
