My fiancé and a friend we all decided to finally try Via's buffet style brunch...YUMMERS!!! Although, we are not big eaters the little food we did try was fabulous just like always! I'm from México City so food is a big deal to me especially the taste and presentation and although Via has a New Mexico cuisine style it helps that the cooks are from Mexico so taste is still similar to Mexico style cooking. The price of almost 50 dollars per plate seemed out there especially because ... again we are not big eaters , but mimosas just kept coming and ambiance was excellent not to mention the everyone on staff s always 100% on point making the experience even better. One of my favorite things they had was sea food and those traditional breakfast full of flavor like chilaquiles. They also had a gentleman making omelettes with a plethora of toppings so that was fun to watch... and dessert table ohhh dessert table was amazing too bad I couldn't partake of it... well only of fruit which was just as sweet. This place was awesome! My mom took our whole family for Christmas brunch and it was great. My husband and I eat whole food plant based so we did not eat a lot of things in the buffet, but the omelette station sautéed us vegetables that we put in top of their grilled vegetables and black beans abs topped it with their tomatillo sauce. There are many flavors of "Southwestern" cuisine, ranging from Tex-Mex to Baja style to Santa Fe inspired. Via Real offers upscale gourmet Santa Fe style cuisine without the upscale gourmet prices. Think table cloths and cloth napkins. That's the kind of refined detail you can expect to experience, in addition to indoor fountains embedded in a vintage brick wall that serves as a statuesque back drop for patrons. From the description, you might think that only the corporate crowd dines at Via Real but I personally witnessed a group of women wearing visors and tennis clothes that were seated at a table across the room. Great minds think alike! They were probably grabbing a bite to eat between their tennis matches at the Four Seasons across the street. Via Real is definitely upscale but attracts a diverse crowd. Whether you're in jersey or a suit, you will feel comfortable. Now on to the food! I followed my waiter's recommendation and ordered the blackened salmon and adobo shrimp, with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and buttery lobster cream. Oh, my goodness! I cleaned my plate and probably ate faster than my distant visor-wearing, tennis player companions. I loved the adobo seasoning and the moist salmon, the creaminess of the potatoes and the portion was perfect for lunch. Obviously, I can always make some room for dessert. Ha! The waiter brought a dessert menu featuring Cream Brulee, Chocolate Cake, Key Lime pie, classic Tres Leche, and Flan. Again, I took his recommendation and ordered the Key Lime pie. If you love Key Lime pie like me, you need to go to Via Real. Custard tart filling topped with homemade vanilla whipped cream...to die for! This is layered on a special graham cracker crust with very subtle bits of toasted coconut and almonds. You can't taste the coconut or the almonds but it adds a very nice textural component to the crust. I formally ended my lunch with a cup of the house signature coffee. I'm typically a dark roast drinker, this was dark enough to satisfy me but not too dark for an after lunch pick me up. It had a very velvety chocolate aftertaste that was delightful. There aren't many brunch places in LC, yet. However, Via Real does offer a brunch buffet with bottomless mimosas. We made reservations for Friday night, and were seated immediately when we walked in. The restaurant had a very romantic vibe, and the waitstaff was extremely friendly. We got so lucky that night that we got to take a picture with Fran! She's the sweetest, and I have to say I felt like I had just ran into a celebrity. Now to the food, I have to admit the queso and the salsa were delicious to start off. I ordered the chicken pasta, it was creamy and the chicken had a lot of flavor. I'm a big fan of Mexican food, although it's mostly Tex Mex around here. You can find some authentic Mexican food but you have to look. I'm also a fan of the hole in the wall questionable sanitation places that are Mom and Pop local places. Sometimes in a gas station or some other strip mall location and often in a blue collar neighborhood. That's where you find the best authentic food, whether it's Mexican, BBQ, Soul food, etc. This isn't one of those places. The food here is good and I would consider it more of an elevated cuisine. Classier than your neighborhood joint, but not a black tie place. They have some creative dishes with traditional Mexican flavors but a more refined treatment. You can get a taco or fajitas but you can also get salmon or aged tenderloin. You can get a $25 margarita or an Old Fashioned made with Mezcal. It's clean. The service is good. The food is above average as well. I wasn't blown away but I wasn't disappointed either. And ask for the habanero sauce if you want a treat. read more

Simply superb. From the quietly confident wait staff to the Sante age elegant decor, and ultimately the 5 star quality food. We had a party of 16 and the service and food quality were as if we were a party of two. The waiter made recommendations that were perfect for the group. The calamari was amazing! Not chewy, perfect light spice. The sea bass was the best I've enjoyed in a very long time. Each person in our party said it was the best food they've had in a long time. I am not a frequent visitor to the Las Colinas/Irving area but Via Real will definitely see me again. The food, the atmosphere, the margaritas, and the service were all superb. The service is what truly stood out to me. From the minute we walked in the door every employee was there to help and make your time as pleasant as possible. I am currently on crutches making dining out an awkward experience at times but not at Via Real. The staff immediately helped to make sure I was comfortable, placed my crutches out of the way (always a worry for me), and were there to open any doors. This included someone helping me open the doors to the bathroom. It was a relief to not feel like a burden. During the meal, our waters were constantly filled, the chips refreshed, and the salsa full. 5 star service that impressed my entire family. The margaritas were delicious. At our table we had 2 skinny margaritas, a strawberry margarita, and a paloma. The skinny margaritas were tart and crisp without too much a lime bit. The strawberry margarita was sweet (not my preference but the person drinking it loved it). I had the paloma which was a delicious blend of grapefruit and tequila with an extra hint of flavor I couldn't identify.Definitely one of the best palomas I have ever had! The chips were crisp and the salsa yummy but not too hot. It was a thicker more tomato based blend which is perfect for me. We could not get enough of it. I had the chicken cilantro. The chick was perfectly cooked and covered in a cilantro sauce that wasn't too heavy or overwhelming. The presentation of each plate was also lovely. The little details to appeal to the eye were appreciated. We ended the night with the mousse as it was a birthday celebration. The mousse was delicious. I know you should get flan at a southwestern/mexican restaurant but go for the mousse! Our waiter even took our family's picture and put it in a cute card for my dad's birthday. Via Real has hit the jackpot with their service and the way they treat their guests. Nothing is too small for them to take care of and make sure the entire experience is wonderful. read more

Even though they mixed up one of the orders the staff was super apologetic, nice, and prompt to get it corrected. House margarita was pretty tasty too. It's definitely a nicer environment and not the usual casual Tex mex joint with some dishes that averaged $12-15 and other unique meat based fusions averaging $30-45 a dish. The manage was great and got us seated even though it was a bit early and we were the first ones there it looked like. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, he gave some great recommendations.
