Nothing special about this place, it is subtle and cute for the neighborhood. WFH spot, with lots of outdoor patio seating available. I would consider hiring more experienced Barista's. Matcha was pretty but one of the worse tasting matcha's I've had. Also not a fan of the freeze dried strawberries. Dog friendly so that's nice! They offer small sandwiches, however the display was not very clean Still a new shop so hoping for improvement as time goes on!
Good Italian sandwiches on soft foccacia bread. The turkey aoli was delicious and a good balance of meats and spreads. Drinks looked good, however I did not get one. You order at the counter and they call your name when ready. Parking is really challenging as they don't have a designated lot and minimal street parking. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, however, the outdoor area was a bit of a wind tunnel.
Very impressed with the italian sandwhich. We got the pistachio mortadella and it is expectedly to be sweet from the pistachio cream but I was surprised that it had actual pistachio nuts. Focaccia bread is good...it think the sandwich might be better if the bread was lightly toasted. Very clean place and they have an outdoor area if you have pets.
Wow. Good flavorsandwich. It didn't have much truffle flavor but love the pistacchio nuts in it for the crunch. And the goat cheese and mortadella was crazy delicious. A great sandwich. The staff was pleasant and quick service. Plenty of seating inside and have outdoor seating also and appears like pets are allowed. Great sandwiches and the coffeess look good as well. I'd come back.
I got one of their seasonal pumpkin lattes which was solid. Service was quick. It's a nice cool atmosphere inside - maybe a bit sterile of an environment. There's plenty of space to sit inside and outside. Great place to study. Parking is a bit tough - there's street parking. The liquor store lot next door has signs saying specifically only for their customers.
- parking can be tricky but there's a small lot to the left and behind as well as the large plaza across the street! - the interior had an industrial cement look and it was large too, lots of seating both indoor and outdoor - the staff were so sweet and welcoming! (1) pistachio mortadella sandwich ($15): so pleasantly surprised how packed this was! My craving for a mortadella sandwich was thoroughly satisfied after this. The pistachio spread, creamy goat cheese, fresh arugula, and mortadella slices were a winning combo (2) banana bread latte ($7.50): this was a hit too. The espresso was strong not bitter and the fresh banana flavor wasn't too sweet (I asked for less sweet!). That cream top added a nice banana vanilla flavor as well
The drinks looked more aesthetic than they tasted. The coffee was watery and underwhelming. The matcha was also more dessert-like. Honestly, it felt more like influencer-based marketing than a place focused on making genuinely good drinks.
The place itself is very cute and I like that there is inside Nd outdoor seating. However, the matcha was not good at all and extremely sweet and tastes just like milk. The coffee was better but kinda lacked flavor. I would go there for only the sandwiches! They are really big just the half portion. But they are expensive for a sandwich. Service was okay.
I had wanted to come here when they first opened but didn't get a chance to check it out until recently. It's located right under a residential building so you will need to find some street parking nearby. I originally came here cause I wanted to try some drinks but I did notice that they were also selling Italian sandwiches which interested me so I went with the pistachio mortadella while my partner went with the Tuscan truffle. We also got a berries and cream matcha and iced toasted marshmallow latte to try. I'll start off by saying that I thought the drinks were just okay. The creams on both the drinks were good but I don't think the matcha nor the coffee were very noteworthy in anyway (matcha didn't have a very prominent flavor and the espresso didn't seem very potent either) which is a shame because they do look very pretty. On the other hand though the sandwiches were definitely worth it. Not only are they massive but the quality of ingredients and the combination of flavors made them exceptional. For example the Tuscan truffle comes with a lot of ingredients which includes goat cheese, hot honey, salami, turkey, etc and they all complement each other very well. I also haven't had pistachio cream in a sandwich before but I really enjoyed it in the pistachio mortadella (added a sweet touch and the texture of the cream worked well with the sandwich also). There are definitely other Italian sandwich shops in San Diego which I think have better focaccia bread but they also happen to be way more expensive than this location (probably 5-6 dollars more on average). I would definitely come back for the sandwiches but unfortunately not too sure on the drinks for me personally.
It was a little difficult to find since it's part of an apartment complex. My directions took me to behind the building. Parking is only street parking too. The inside was very clean and aesthetic while also being super spacious! I would definitely come back to wfh. I got the prosciutto and fig sandwich and the ingredients all paired perfectly together. The banana bread latte was more artificial banana tasting so I didn't really like it and wouldn't recommend unless you like that type of banana flavoring. They have lots of other cool drinks to try! My latte came out quick but had to wait a little for the sandwich which makes sense.
I was craving a really good sandwich and all I could think about were the photos I'd seen online of Vici Cafe's massive focaccia sandwiches. After one look at the menu, I knew I was making the drive out. Vici Cafe advertises itself as a specialty coffee and sandwich shop. The coffee menu looked great, but I was there for one thing only, a focaccia sandwich. They offer seven different options ranging from about $14 to $16. Every single one sounded good. Choosing was honestly the hardest part. Parking can be a little tricky. I could see it being frustrating if you're planning to stay for a while to study or work. When I arrived there wasn't a line, but the place was definitely busy. Every seat inside was taken. The large outdoor patio, however, was almost completely empty. The staff was friendly. I placed my order and waited about 10 minutes for my sandwich. My only small complaint was that it was hard to hear names being called from the patio. I found myself walking back toward the pickup counter a few times just to make sure I hadn't missed my order. I landed on the Pistachio Mortadella sandwich. It comes with mortadella, truffle goat cheese, arugula, pistachio cream, garlic aioli, and crushed pistachios. This sandwich is beautiful. The focaccia looked fresh. The layers were stacked high. There was a generous amount of meat. The pistachio cream and arugula gave it great color. The first few bites were incredible. The pistachio cream added a sweetness that paired really well with the salty mortadella. The arugula brought freshness. The focaccia had a great texture. Everything worked together and I immediately understood the hype. Then I got halfway through it. The problem wasn't the quality. The ingredients tasted fresh. The flavors were good. It was just so rich. Between the garlic aioli, pistachio cream, truffle goat cheese, and oils from the meat, every bite felt heavier than the last. At some point I found myself wishing there was something acidic to cut through everything. A pickled vegetable. A vinaigrette. Something bright. The sandwich felt like it was missing a contrast. I would still come back because the quality is there. The focaccia is excellent. The ingredients taste fresh. Next time I think I'd order something lighter. The Prosciutto and Fig already has my attention because it still gives that sweet and savory combination without sounding quite as heavy.
Got here on a friday morning and it was pretty busy with no indoor seating. Good thing that there is plenty of outdoor seating. Parking is difficult in the area, either get lucky and park on Ulric st. In front or across the street. We got two sandwiches Pistachio Mortadella & Tuscan Truffle. Both delicious sandwiches i give them a 5/5. Also got two drinks, Iced strawberry Matcha & Iced Latte. They both were really good and refreshing. 5/5 The cafe is really nice inside and outside with comfortable seating and good lighting.
They offer coffee, sandwiches, and other café favorites. I ordered the avocado toast and an iced Toasted Marshmallow Latte from their specialty menu. I have to say, the coffee was excellent, very well balanced, with the perfect blend of marshmallow flavor and coffee without either overpowering the other. The marshmallow topping was a fun touch with the crumbles it just added a little extra sweetness and texture to the drink. The avocado toast was fresh and flavorful, it had arugula, tomatoes, some type of cream cheese or cream with a chili and it made it the perfect pairing with the latte. Overall, it was a great experience, friendly staff. I'd definitely come back to try more from their menu.

Solid spot for a quick coffee run or sit down to study/WFH. I got the iced Americano ($5) and it was a great dark roast--smooth and strong without being bitter. The space is a big plus, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating and great free WiFi. The food looked incredible (definitely coming back to try it next time). Parking isn't the easiest, but they do have 30-minute spots out front which makes grab-and-go pretty convenient. Would come back! read more

New cafe near the Fashion Valley mall. They have a minimalistic gray look with seating inside and outside. There is no parking lot I'm assuming as I settled for street parking. We ordered a Matcha Latte and a Strawberry Matcha latte off the seasonal menu, around $8 each. They found out they ran out of vanilla cold foam after my friend ordered and offered either a replacement of another or waiting for the new batch. I'd come back here again to try their coffees or do some work next time I'm around the area. read more

A soft opening does deserve some grace as figuring out how to serve large amounts of people is stressful. The cafe was packed during my visit. Positives: The food is very yummy and the cafe itself is beautiful. Negatives: Unfortunately staff was visibly very slow and perhaps overwhelmed. It took about a half hour to receive two sandwiches. They were both ready at very different times so we had to wait to be able to eat together despite ordering the items at the same time. There was very limited parking with only street parking available in an area that's already competing for apartment parking. The drinks were ok, not bad by any means. With so many cafes opening in San Diego the price of the drinks and time it took to receive everything makes it less appealing to come back. Overall a nice choice for those local to the area but I'd rethink taking the time to drive over. read more

Stopped by Vici to try out their coffee and sandwich offerings. Located on a side street, there isn't much parking on the street so I had to park in the parking lot of a strip mall about a block away. Unfortunately the spots right in front of the cafe are yellow and blue curbs. The shop itself is modern, bright and airy. They have a large indoors and outdoors section and was fairly quiet when I visited around lunch time, no blaring music playing. I opted for a cappuccino and the beef sandwich for lunch. The drink arrived fairly quickly but was quite disappointing as it tasted bitter, perhaps poor extraction or badly roasted beans. The sandwich was a bit better. A large square piece of focaccia bread with aioli, sundried tomatoes, slices of beef cut into two triangles. Large enough to fill two. Overall I would have rated it higher if the coffee was better, but there are so many better coffee roasters in San Diego, VIci has some work to do in this department. read more

Recently tried this coffee shop. Their coffees were mid to me personally, but I did have a small inconvenience where we asked if they could make a customized latte and were initially told yes, then later told no because they only serve drinks they've approved/tasted from their menu. However, I do want to say the customer service from the girl helping us was AMAZING. She was super sweet, professional, and honestly the reason I'd give the place another try. So if you're someone who likes heavily customized drinks, this may not be the spot for you since they seem pretty strict with their menu items. BUT if you want a really good sandwich, definitely check them out because the sandwiches were honestly sooo good! read more

I'm not really a coffee drinker, but I think it was very yummy! I had the toasted marshmallows latte, it was sweet but not overpowering. I also ordered the salted caramel latte, and affogato latte. Those who received the drinks said they were very yummy as well. The fig and prosciutto sandwich definitely did not disappoint! It was delicious. So much so that I am currently writing this as I buy three more for my family to try, because they so throughly enjoyed the one we shared yesterday! Definitely give it a try. The workers are very sweet and welcoming. The ambiance is nice and chill, good place to get work done. read more

Great new spot. Relaxing atmosphere with lots of space. Service was also very fast. I really like their drink menu as they have some interesting items aside from the standard coffee/latte drinks. I got a toasted marshmallow latte and the prime rib sandwich. The latte was really good because it had the perfect amount of sweetness without having to make any adjustments. Love the cookie crumble and the espresso itself had a deep flavor. The prime rib sandwich was excellent. The focaccia came out warm and the truffle aioli adds a nice touch. The sandwich is also huge for the price ($16). $16 is already on the cheap side for a steak/prime rib sandwich and this one is quite big, I could only finish half and I'm a pretty big guy.
