Superbloom is one of my favorite weekday spots to beat the crowds. With plenty of parking, shaded outdoor tables, and wide bay views, it's hard to find a better place to start the day. It's an outdoor coffee shop tucked into Crown Point, surrounded by grassy areas and walking trails along the beautiful San Diego Bay. The coffee shop itself is dog‑friendly, but there are a few signs near the bay stating that dogs aren't allowed most of the day -- a bit of a bummer since it's such a perfect walking area. That said, I still saw plenty of pups strolling around, so I'm not sure how strict they are. I ordered a matcha latte -- pricey, but good, and honestly expected given the location and views. They offer lots of healthy food options plus fun weekly happenings like Taco Tuesdays, seasonal menus, and happy hour. It's a great place to ease into the morning. Hi guys I don't recommend superbloom if your an actual coffee lover, overpriced bland coffee. Unfortunately we ordered the "love letter latte" which comes with salted caramel mocha and received a plain latte. When we asked if this was the correct order the barista said it's a seasonal drink, SO why is it on the "Current" menu and the cashier didn't mention it wasn't in season? Peak San Diego cafe. Superbloom has the most gorgeous location overlooking Mission Bay. They specialize in coffee with community style dining, but also offer bites and alcoholic sips. I was in such awe of this coffee shop that I visited twice in one weekend. I was able to try their coconut latte, the sandy beach latte, an apple muffin, and their breakfast bagel. While the views and vibes are high, their food/beverages could be tastier. I noticed that both lattes were light on espresso and heavy on sweetness. To be very honest, the coffee (even though I'm not a coffee drinker) is only okay. I got the Spirit of Aloha which has macadamia nut flavoring but honestly it came out extremely sweet. In general I prefer my coffees on the sweeter end, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The ambiance here is unmatched though, it was a bright and sunny day, there are plenty of tables with umbrellas for shade, or even individual lawn chairs if you wanted to kick back and enjoy the view and fresh air. I have been coming to Superbloom at Mission Bay for a few years now. My book club meets here monthly on Saturdays. I'm sure many others meet here too. This place is always busy with a hefty line that somehow goes by fast. I really enjoy the menu selection, the music and the easy to access location. This is not a place for a quick cup of coffee on your way to work, this is where you come to sip slow, snack on the incredible Turkey cranberry sandwich, and meet up with friends. I've even seen people coming to "work from home" with their whole set up. Its a great place for moms to meet up, especially when their kiddos get too riled up for any of the many seating choices, there's a park to the right and a huge grassy area behind and to the left filled with shade and adventure. If you come at the right time, they also have a very cute separate set up for alcoholic drinks sold from a tiny converted air stream! Their food, besides the cranberry turkey sandwich previously mentioned, isn't special or spectacular. It's certainly not BAD by any means at all, but you aren't paying for spectacular food, you're paying for location. This coffee shop scores off the chart for atmosphere. Absolutely love the location at Crownpoint with views of Mission Bay. My fiancé and I both tried one of their fall specialty coffees. He had a cold brew with a cold foam, I don't remember the flavor exactly. It was very good but over the top sweet. I had the butterball latte and asked them to make it half sweet and it was delicious. There was a nice selection of scones and pastries. I thought that the raspberry almond scone was really nice but a bit more moist than a scone traditionally is. Flavor was on point though. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine when a place doesn't have any butter or something for a scone, as they are traditionally served with a spread. Our drinks were made very quickly and we were able to hang out and enjoy the afternoon. With the Location, you have to go into this coffee shop with the understanding that coffees and pastries are on the pricey side, but not outrageous like some of the other shops in the area. As long as you're expecting that you won't be disappointed! I will definitely return to this location with family and friends for a nice afternoon treat. read more

I have been here multiple times: Pros: beautiful views and chill vibe, great patio and decor. Cons: pricy for what it is, the food is inconsistent (sometimes it's great and sometimes it's ok), the service is inconsistent- I know they are typically super slammed but I've been here about half a dozen times already and have never felt very welcome, especially if I have questions about the beverages. The staff is often impatient. I've seen them be kind to their regulars or friends but not necessarily everyone else. I'm still giving 4 stars though because the location and vibe are so beautiful it makes me forget about everything else. Also, the days the food and drinks are good, it's really good. The tacos I had this morning were such generous portions that I could only eat one. Usually they are less full so I typically get two. On the positive side, I love their flexibility that they easily accommodated my request to add cheese and avocado to my otherwise vegan tacos. Lots of parents with young kids and strollers. Love that there is a playground right next to the cafe although the playground is currently under construction. This is a great place to meet a friend for coffee or to stop by after a stroll on the bay. And I do appreciate that they have a nice clean restroom. Only other caveat is that if you forget something or later want to add something to your order, it's a pain because you have to get back in line and usually it is long and slow moving. Also, they sell out of the "good" items relatively quickly, so if you think you're going to want that pastry in the case, or the overnight oats, get it while you are up there the first time or you might miss out. I'd say it was a ton of mango puree (or maybe just syrup), a little bit of lemonade, and absolutely no black tea. $7.50 for an easy-to-make tea that I would consider a juice felt like robbery. Superbloom (aka) Mission Bay Beach Club - WHATEVER this place is called it's wonderful and really helps Mission Bay step up their game. The atmosphere is peaceful and offers a great view. There are a ton of tables both covered and not along with Adirondack chairs lined up facing the water. Clearly pets are welcome as every other person had a dog in tow, but all did a good job keeping them on short leashes. When I vacation to SD I stay nearby and make daily trips to Superbloom for my coffee. Last year I met a friend here and we ordered breakfast, the Breakfast Bagel is my favorite. This year when I visited I got the Breakfast Bagel almost every morning! The cold brew and is really good - occasionally I'll a splash of almond milk but either way it was tasty. My ONLY complaint is the cost of everything. A 16oz cold brew cost me $7.25 (up $1 from 2024) and the breakfast bagel was $15 (ALSO up $1 from 2024). For a quick grab cafe where it's all self service that's steep. I think the young men in line behind me said it best, "for $8 this better be the best coffee/latte I've ever had in my life!" While it is the coffee and food is good, the view and ambiance are worth every penny! read more

However if you're looking to get an alcoholic beverage there is another little bar set up where you can order there and the lines aren't so long. Okay-lines aside. The best part of the experience, though-was the view! There's tons of seating and you have a great view of the water! Came here last Saturday for a coffee with a friend and I will not be back. The line to order was pretty long which already I knew was not A great sign for efficiency. It took us 35 minutes till it was our time to order. They only have one person taking orders. And then there was two people making coffee but they just kept stopping and talking. I saw a third worker go back there and she would just talk to everybody the whole time she just kept walking around and talking to all the workers. I ordered the iced chai tea latte and I believe it was around $9 which is insane for a iced chai tea latte. And it was not even great. It was less than basic as it was just overly sweet with that powder chai they use. I will say if you want to come here for an alcoholic beverage you might have a better experience as to order alcohol it's a separate area in the Airstream and the bartender was so nice as he kept coming over to the long line ordering coffee and he was saying if you're just ordering food you could order from him. And obviously alcohol from him as well. So he was great. It's a shame I won't be back as I have been here before and it was a long line as well. But the view is great of the Bay and there's plenty of seating but unless they get to cashiers and people making those coffees quicker not standing around talking it's honestly not worth it. You literally can get coffee anywhere for cheaper and better. Also I just want to add my friend got one of their specialty spring drinks and they only would make it in a size small for her. My Sister and I went for a walk at the bay and then came here for a snack and chit chat. We both ordered a Breakfast Taco with Bacon, Egg and Cheese.
