What I hate: literally everything else. The people? Both patrons and staff? Ughhhhhh. Horrible. The food: always getting worse. Mediocre is a compliment. The management: apparently today is Rich's birthday. His message to us: middle fingers with the words, "f*ck all you f*ckers!!" The hostesses: too busy on their phones/iPads to actually give you any help. The bottle service: looking like they are here against their will the way they hate their jobs. The way you are forced into a 20% tip every visit to the bar. Vidorra is the restaurant equivalent to Zara. You want to like it. It's a place that should be cool. You want to go. Happy Hour Visit I was presently surprised by this happy hour. This was all half off, and in reference to the original prices, that's a great deal. The margarita was made to my liking, not sweet but strong. The chips were not greasy, and both red and green salsa were flavorful, not spicy but good. I had ordered the queso with a protein but had overlooked the menu and just got the queso. It was so good, and with the molcajate being heated up prior, it kept our queso hot and cooking the entire time. Can't wait to go back. read more

She was so knowledgeable of the menu and gave us ideas and suggestions. She also just chilled and chatted with us. There were some heavy duty standouts, and a couple of other good options. They brought us some chips and salsa right after we sat down. They were a little skimpy on the salsa (which tasted very good) but Sasha was more than happy to grab us as much as we wanted. The chips are some of the best chips I've had at a Mexican food place. Topped with some salt and spice, and they were crispy. We started with the Sampler which came with 4 chicken flautas, 4 slices of quesadillas, and 2 empanadas. If u could only have one of these, you would want to opt for the flautas. They were absolutely delicious. I ordered the combo street tacos which gives you 4 of your choices. I ordered the Barbacoa (good), the chicken tinga (good), the trompo beef (good), and the trompo pork (very good). My buddy ordered the molcajete called the Tablitas en Fuego. Basically braised short ribs and veggies served on top of a smoking hot molcajete. Nice and sweet (as short ribs should be) with a great smoked flavor. 1.5 Stars Overall: Good place. While visiting the area I dined here with my friends - it was 5 of us. We did not have a reservation and were short on time so we dined at the bar. The bartender took our drink orders and asked if we wanted chips and salsa while we waited and we obliged. I think 3 of the 5 of us had random special requests and all were accommodated. We enjoyed our drinks and and entrees. This was a very brief visit for me but based on my experience I'd definitely return - I really liked the upbeat Reggaeton tunes that were playing and the overall decor made for a nice laid back and enjoyable experience. read more

Dropped in for Margarita Mondays to meet a friend in town staying in Addison. The margaritas were half off from the Margarita category on the menu. Many of the margs were made with tequila I haven't heard of or their house. I had their version of the spicy. It was okay but I didn't enjoy the tequila nor was vey spicy. It tasted like rail so I switched it up to a spicy lime marg on the rocks with a Don Julio... it was not on special but much preferred it over the other choices. This one had more kick since I gave feedback that the other didn't. I don't like my margs very sweet so if sweet is your thing, there are plenty to choose from. Service was great! Our waitress was polite and able to offer suggestions. Food- I did the Barbacoa taco and a steak taco . There was some fat in the Barbacoa but other than that it was fine. I was really pleasantly surprised by the entryway to Vidorra; it looked extremely nice upon entry with the greenery and open ceilings. It reminded me of being someplace tropical. We had a really great server, as she recommended the meal that I had which was the steak and shrimp fajitas! She mentioned that we could have two meats with the fajitas (no extra charge), which was a plus because I had the opportunity to try two items and they were delicious. First visit was a disappointment. Came here for a friend's bday and left expecting more. Restaurant was packed when we arrived but we were seated in a timely manner. Server was attentive but drinks took way too long to make it to our table. I ordered a Jameson on the rocks and received Jack Daniel's. I believe the waitress made a mistake on our order because when she delivered it to the table she said here is your Jack. Regardless, it took time to get the right drink back to the table. I ordered the verde molcajete for dinner. Food was okay but it was simply way too hot to enjoy, and it remained hot for the entire dinner. It ate it as best I could but it was hard to enjoy the flavors when you're trying not to burn your tastebuds off. For dessert we ordered a tres leches dessert, and it was excellent. Once the music started we were looking forward to enjoying the ambiance. The issue is that the dance floor is extremely small and there are multiple tables in the way. We ended up leaving earlier than expected because there was no room to enjoy the music and actually be able to see the dance floor. Overall this was a disappointing visit. I believe they have a good vibe and idea, just the execution is lacking. Hopefully they get better with time but I don't see us giving this place a second chance. read more

I visited Vidorra for the first time last night for dinner. When I arrived, there were 3 girls chatting behind the hostess stand. I mentioned to the one who happened to look up at me that I was there for a reservation under my friend's name. She mentioned that my party was 'in the backroom'. I asked for direction and she just pointed in a general area somewhere past the bar. I thought, 'OK then. Hopefully this place isn't very big.' LOL. I was able to find them. The chips and green salsa was very good. I was disappointed with my meal which should have been simple. I asked the server if I could order the Guadalajara quesadillas and have veggies (bell peppers and onion) added to it. He asked if I wanted cheese as well and I said Yes. What he brought out was some rather plain cheese quesadillas with pico and a slaw on the sides. When the server came back after the food was delivered, I asked him about my order and his reply was that the pico and the slaw was the vegetables and just not inside. My friends just started laughing and all I could do was stare. Smh. One of my friends next to me ordered street tacos and said she enjoyed them. When the billing came, we were all charged a 'commodity fee'. When we asked the server about it, he said it prevents the owner from raising the prices on the menu. One friend was charged 2x for an item. He said he would remove it and didn't. I normally do not rate places this low but Vidorra was every bit the experience for me. Choose from barbacoa, chicken tinga, trompo pork, trompo beef, and carnitas. You can get rice and beans for an additional $4. Like most Mexican restaurants, you get free chips and salsa. Vidorra is definitely more for the vibes than the actual food itself. This place is pretty spacious for big gatherings, whether that be a birthday celebration meal, corporate outing, etc. But that also translates into a crowded, loud space and slower service. Starting on a positive note, the appetizers were actually quite good, albeit expensive. The chips and salsa were average, but the queso blanco and guacamole made up for that. The queso blanco is served bubbly hot on a molcajete! The Mexican watermelon salad was also quite refreshing and delicious. I also really enjoyed the Birthday Churro dessert! It came with a sparkler, and the churros and ice cream were both fantastic! Unfortunately, the entrees were a letdown. My main gripe is that there wasn't enough flavor. The tacos were okay, but I've definitely had better for cheaper. The beans and rice were also nothing special. Overall, Vidorra isn't a bad spot if Addison is the best logistic choice for your next large gathering. I wouldn't recommend it as the best option, but it is worth considering! read more
