I ordered this when I was sick from uber eats. The broth comes separately from the noodles and vegetables. I ordered #10 with the meat, because of the amazing reviews. The brother was warm and full of depth, many different flavor profiles from the chili, ginger, basil etc. the portion is huge! I ended up finishing the broth and hand full of noodles in one sitting and 2 others to finish the noodles! Tons of toppings, loved how fresh all the ingredients are. Perfect for a sick day! My new obsession here is spring rolls and lemongrass chicken. The peanut sauce for the spring roll is delicious and the rice chicken is flavorful. Now that it's hot in LA, I still come here, but I'm not craving hot soup, I found other things on the menu worthy of coming back. Also, I'm always ordering to go, and I really appreciate the way they wrapped the food here. They wrap the spring rolls before putting them in the takeout container, which keeps them fresh for later. My Valley Tradition - The Best Pho at New Phở 999 I mostly work in downtown Los Angeles, but on the days when work brings me to the San Fernando Valley, I have a tradition, I always stop at New Phở 999. It's not even a question anymore. After a long day, nothing resets me like a steaming, fragrant bowl of their pho. I once asked the chef why the broth is so unbelievably good, and he told me they simmer the beef broth for over 8 1/2 hours. That kind of care and patience shows in every sip...rich, balanced, and deeply comforting. I eat pho everywhere, Orange County, Koreatown, Downtown, but nothing compares to the authentic, family recipe here. When I'm solo, I stick to pho (and sometimes a rice dish that I can't finish and happily take home for the next day). When I bring friends, family, or my partner, we go all out, grilled meats over rice, vermicelli noodles, crispy egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls. Every dish is a hit, and often I'll order extra just to bring home because it's that good. And I can't forget about the Vietnamese coffee... don't drink a whole one to yourself if you're not a real coffee drinker for this stuff is potent! I was told about this place through word of mouth. when I realized it was practically next door to where I work I made a point to visit it for lunch one day. last friday, even though it was kinda hot out, I had a craving for some really good soup and after looking at a few photos of the food made, I walked over immediately. The inside looked authentic and cozy and I was greeted by very kind staff. I sort of already knew what I wanted but my server was really helpful in pointing out the differences between items and helping me narrow it down. I ordered the brisket and flank pho and the charbroiled pork vermicelli bowl for dinner later. During my short 15 minute wait, a few people walked in and it was clear that they were regulars. I'm pretty sure I heard the owner (?) ask "the usual?" to one of them. Needless to say I was excited after catching that little exchange. After sprinting back to work and throwing my bowl of pho together, I took my first sip of broth and it exceeded my expectations. The flavor was very complex and savory, but somehow also very light. It's one of those broths that you can keep sipping on endlessly. I was too excited to take a picture of my bowl of pho before I started adding the generous amount of toppings they include with the bowl. Was craving pho for the past few days and finally came here since it was local. Ordered the chin ma. It came out in about 10 minutes. The broth was flavorful, and if you love spicy like me then they have plenty of Sriracha or chili on the table. The beef was ok, not sure how seasoned it was but that might be normal for pho since I've never had amazingly seasoned beef in pho before. The noodles are great. Totally destroyed my food. I gotta try the spring rolls next time. I also got the Thai tea. My recommendation is to get it with very light ice because the last bit of it can taste watered down otherwise. I just moved to the north Hollywood area and was so afraid I wouldn't be able to find authentic Vietnamese food, but after giving it some time and driving around, I found Pho 999 and always thought that it would be good based off the angel numbers in the name alone. I was right!! If a place has bo 7 mon (beef 7 ways), then you know it's legit. Although they probably specialize in pho, their menu is so abundant! You can get com tam (rice plates), hu tieu or bun (other soup and dry noodles) and more. I got the com ga roti (tomato rice with fried Cornish hen) because I had been craving this and it's very hard to find these days, but I was a bit disappointed because it usually comes with a sweet, garlicky soy sauce, but they didn't have that here. I made my own using the pickled jalapeños and soy sauce on the table and it was fine, but I wouldn't order this again. It was just slightly bland compared to what I was expecting. I wish the rice was more tomato-y as well. My friend order the pho with a side of broth and beef and it looked amazing! We got spring rolls and it was even better with a slice of pickled jalapeño after dipping it into the peanut sauce with every bite. Craving pho but not wanting to drive down to my usual (and only) spot, I stopped in here on a Friday night. I ordered the rare beef and well done brisket pho to go, which was ready in just about two! I live a block away and so everything stayed nice and warm. The broth is packaged separately from the onions, cilantro, noodles, and meat. And in a separate bag was basil, jalapeno, lemon, sprouts, and sauce packets. Overall, the broth has good flavor (but a little heavy on the cilantro for me) and the meat was decent. My noodles were all stuck together and were difficult to separate. A lot of them ended up being balls of stuck together noodles, unfortunately. While it satisfied the craving at a good price (14 dollars), it wasn't the best experience. Wasn't awful by any means, but next time, I would rather just deal with the annoying trek and parking situation for Pho NOHO, probably. read more

Actually pretty good! This could be our new Vietnamese spot! For a while due to Covid this place was take out only so I came by prepared to make a to go order. They have dine in! The menu inside is the same as the online menu (posted on their website) but we aware everything is about $2 more (also posted). A few tables were occupied on a Monday evening; the decor could use a little updating. However the food is good and quick! I put in a take out order and the food was packed for me about five minutes later. We ordered the special pho #1, the shrimp and pork bun #55, and fried egg rolls #88. All were neatly packed and still warm and tasty when I got home 15 mins later. The egg rolls come with lettuce, mint leaves, pickled veggies and a fish sauce to dip in. They were well packed and quite plump! The pho had a tasty broth. The noodles were a little short though. The bun had good charred pork and shrimp and the veggies and noodles were fresh. Here we go.... Always in search of Pho. I have tried over 50 Pho restaurants from coast to coast. Well, 999 is a player. Centered in a small strip mall, parking is elusive. Just yelped for a close by Pho. Don't expect your typical ambiance. There is none to speak of. Menu you was light, but had what I was looking for. I wanted basil, fresh noodles, tasty tripe and rare beef with a splash of tendons. Out came a medium size bowl stuffed with pleasures. The broth was absolutely bone delicious. The steak was succulent, and an asset to this broth. The tendon was also flavorful and robust. My favorite is always the tripe. This tripe was picked from the perfect part of the stomach. Overall never judge a book by its cover. The star is the combination made by a chef that has a true palette. I will notch this place into my go to card. Enjoy! I've been coming here for years although not really much post-Covid. I ordered Spring Rolls w/Beef and Peanut Sauce AND Beef Bahn Mi. Both were great and some of the best in LA. The meat was very flavorsome and all the main pickled vegetables viet style shone through. The Bahn Mi bread was perfectly cooked - toasty yet soft. There was a generous amount of meat and noodles. However, my noodles were undercooked and kind of hard. One thing about undercooked pho noodles is that it has slightly plastic taste to it so the taste threw me off. Also the noodles need to be rinsed in cold water right after they're boiled in water to prevent the soup from getting starchy. They did not do that either so my broth was starting to get starchy and lose its original flavor. Hopefully next time I come, they'll be cooked properly. read more

Unclear if this place went out of business but I tried calling to no answer, drove there after confirming on Google and Yelp that it was open and arrived to lights out and empty restaurant.
