    Eggplant w/ Chicken

This was my first time trying out Viet Thai and this definitely won't be my last! This restaurant is a fusion spot specializing in...as you guessed it...Vietnamese and Thai food! Located in a small strip mall near the intersection of Sand Lake and OBT. Now I have passed by this spot plenty of times and I don't know why I haven't gone in until now. Upon entering, it seemed to be a nice sized restaurant with a decent amount of tables and booths. We were a bit confused at first... since there was not a hostess or server available to get us seated. Eventually, one of the cooks realized we looked lost...and gestured for us to grab our own seats. Once seated, our server came shortly after, she was a nice lady and seemed to be the only server running the show. As we browsed through the menu we were surprised to see what a good variety of options they had...from pho, to curries, and even different rice platters. We ordered the papaya salad, beef drunken noodles, salted fish fried rice, eggplant stir fry, tom yum soup and mango sticky rice for dessert. Now when I tell y'all... that we were so shocked that every single dish was delicious and pretty much spot on when it comes to flavor... we were so pleasantly surprised. Now... it's very rare for me to go to a restaurant and like almost every single dish that we order. Each item was seasoned appropriately, not too salty and not too overbearing in flavor. The standouts to me had to be their tom yum soup (I can literally just eat that with a side of white rice)... and the drunken noodles were literally perfection and had the right amount of chew in the noodles. Overall, I had a great first experience at Viet Thai. They have a great variety of options that could accommodate everyone's dietary preferences. I will definitely be back soon to try out the other items on the menu the next time I'm around the area!

A tasty Viet/Thai food spot near The Florida Mall. Had a Pad Thai (with no protein) and one of the chef specials, Tomato Peppered Steak. Portions were justified for the price. Service was quick and I had my food within 15 minutes of ordering. There's tons of dine-in seating and the place has East-Asian decor that fits well with the theme of the restaurant. Not too much parking in the plaza if it's busy, so plan accordingly if you're coming in a big group!

Always enjoy their summer rolls. We shared one set of shrimp and chicken and I prefer the shrimp over the chicken. Both were good, but as the chicken was just cooked, it was still warm. We also had a pork noodle bowl, which was more than enough to share. Also a nice meal to enjoy on hot days. The pork was nicely seasoned and not overcooked.

Had a pleasant experience here with my parents and husband. It's located in a small strip near the FL mall. The thai tea is delicious here! Steeped just long enough to have great flavor but not too strong. The beef meatball pho was great. We ordered the regular size but received the large and boy was it large! It was gigantic! The broth was lovely and there was a generous amount of noodles and meats. The yellow curry was also surprisingly a huge portion, wonderful for the price. Packed in lots of flavor and I was able to substitute different veggies. Loved it! My parents had the pad thai and a pork shoulder/ pork rib rice platter. Both were lots of food for the price and they were also very pleased with their choices. The server was very kind and friendly and was very helpful with our questions. I am 100% likely to return here! Food is amazing.

Wow!!! The Summer rolls were amazing! Peanut sauce Devine. We ordered drunken noodles for new newbie and I ordered chicken. The portions were HUGE!!! This place deserves the 4+ rating.

Hate giving 5 star reviews but I really had no complaints. Wasn't that crowded at the time but the one guy was running the whole show. Better service here by 1 person then most "staffed" restaurants. Me , wife and som had several dishes. Standouts included the fish cakes, huge summer roll with peanut sauce ( thick the way it should be), beef pho, pad thai. My wife enjoyed her papaya salad but that's not my thing. Chicken satay was good but a little pricey for the portion. My son had coconut shrimp. Was eaten completely. See my pics. Overall enjoyed the service, food and overall environment. This place is a great combination of both thai and Vietnamese food. Can't wait to go back.

    Summer Rolls

My local friend said this was his #2 place for Thai in all of Orlando, so of course we had to try. I enjoyed a Thai Coffee with coconut milk instead of condensed milk. Absolutely delicious! To eat, I had the tofu summer rolls and the crispy noodles with tofu & veggies. Both tasted fresh and flavorful. The summer rolls were fat (just how I like them!) and the peanut sauce was so smooth. The crispy noodles came in a large portion and had JUST the right amount of brown sauce on top. Overall, service was friendly and quick. Plenty of seating and big parking lot. Food was deeeelicious with plenty of meat & veggie options. And, most importantly, the price was solid for the size of the food. Will def return when I'm in Orlando again!

This was one of the first Vietnamese restaurants we went to in Orlando quite a few years ago. Actually the first time I'd eaten their food, I'd been fighting a cold and had my husband pick up some chicken soup (chicken based pho with egg noodles) and bring it back to me in our hotel. Fast forward a few years and we'd been here a couple more times in person. This time we saw that they'd expanded -- about 3 years ago -- to take over another store front next to the original restaurant. The tiny place we were expecting is now twice the size, but still casual and comfortable. We were just glad they were still there. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming -- salads, curry, noodle soups (pho), grilled specials, fried rice specials, wok fried noodles, stir fry specials, and chef specials; desserts, too. There seem be some more Thai dishes than there used to be. I learned something funny. "Yam" the heading for the salads section actually means "mix" or salad like dishes in Thai. But yummy in Vietnamese means horny (lascivious)! Guess you should never describe your meal at a Vietnamese place as yummy! Even though our meal was just that... We started with some shrimp summer rolls. Then he had some Tom yum with egg noodles and shrimp. It was like a spicy hot and sour soup base. He said it was very very good. I had their crispy duck and got the panang sauce on the side. In the bowl of delicious sauce were bamboo shoots and red and green peppers. I drank it with a spoon like soup. And added some to the mound of white rice as well. Here's hoping they stay around a very long time ... so next when we are in Orlando, we can visit and dine with them again.

We started with the crispy chicken dumplings--crispy on the outside with a juicy, tender chicken filling. Perfect way to kick things off. We continued with three items: Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho), Orange Chicken, and Sautéed Cubed Beef "Shaking Beef" (Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc). The Beef Stew (Bún Bò Kho) was heaven on a dish. The beef stew was easily the standout--rich, flavorful, and the beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The vermicelli noodles were just as impressive. Just reminiscing about it makes my mouth water. The "Shaking Beef" was served over white rice (highly recommend), and every bite was better than the last. The garlic butter sauce really takes it over the top. Don't be fooled by the Orange Chicken--Boneless chicken, fried perfectly and coated in their authentic sweet orange sauce. The best Orange Chicken in town, hands down. No chance of leftovers here--you won't want to put your fork down.

My Overall Rating - 4 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - One of the best things about Twenty Pho Hour is the design. It's a 2D restaurant that looks like a huge coloring book. But as I glanced around the wall, one thing caught my attention: Twenty Pho Hour is Michelin Recommended. Challenge accepted! The only problem is I think their A/C was broken. The restaurant was hot and they had two big fans blowing air. I hope the A/C gets fixed. 1/2 Star. Service - You line up and wait to place your order. While this is standard quick service, the staff is super nice and helpful. They gave me some recommendations that I took and was rewarded. 1 Star. Food - Not sure how long they cook the pho broth, but it's legit. This is not Asian fusion or a modern take on Vietnamese Pho. Twenty Pho Hour is authentic as you can get. I ordered the staff recommended "Black Ox". This bowl came with not one, but two oxtails, both with generous portions of tender meat. If you come only once, order this dish. Twenty Pho Hour's version of this pho was...dare I say it? As good as the Oxtail Pho I eat at home. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I went from skeptic to believer after one delicious bowl of pho. Service was phenomenal. Now, at the time of my visit, it wasn't a busy night. It was only a handful of people there. So, our waitress was able to be super attentive and was so kind to our table. I think any time you go to a restaurant that serves a type of ethnic cuisine, they focuses on the main or big dishes. For example, Vietnamese restaurants will always feature pho somehow and Cuban restaurants will always feature the Cuban sandwich in some capacity. However, street food or dishes that are small and meant for grab and go and sharing and to be affordable is not often featured at big sit down restaurants. The other thing is when street food is featured on a fancy sit down menu, the small plates and street food always cost more than it should in my opinion. Z Asian really surprised me in that I didn't think the prices were to unfair and it still felt elevated. They are a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. We went here for a date night after watching Obsession. By the way, the movie is one of the best horror movies of this year in my opinion and I think a lot of people's opinion. We parked in the back lot as they don't really have a whole lot of street parking. That was confusing entering the restaurant since we entered from the back and it wasn't clear if the restaurant was open or if we walked in through the wrong door. We got seated fast and the waitress was really nice and engaging. We ordered banh khot, which is basically a mini banh xeo. Banh khot is an eggy crepe mixture that is panfried into a circle and a small amount of seafood is placed into the middle of it. It's small and finger food sized and served with pickled veggies and fresh lettuce and fish sauce to drizzle or dip. My rating is a 9.5/10. It was crispy and full of flavor. We also tried the mango tofu salad. It's similar to a ceviche. This was a 9/10. It has a little heat to it but very good and not too wet. We then ordered grilled mussels with is what it sounds like. It's mussels halves grilled with fish sauce and crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. I rate this a 8/10. I never see this in restaurants. On a good day, I can crush like 20 of these and call it girl dinner. We got the grilled corn as well. This is corn kernels grilled in butter and garlic topped with Sriracha. I rate this a 6.5/10. I think it's a good street dished but it underwhelmed me because it's just the corn and there wasn't a vehicle to deliver it to my mouth. The last item we tried was the grilled chicken rice noodles. This was a flavorful dish of veggies and chicken and rice noodles that are cooked in a pan. The rating is a 8.5/10. My overall rating is 9/10. They bill was on the higher end but I felt like it was worth the food we were eating the service and ambiance.
