I totally get the hype about this place! If I lived nearby, you can bet I'd work my way through…read moretheir whole menu. There's just something different about this style of sandwich. I've had sandwiches in NYC and Boston, but Tony's were definitely better! The menu is overwhelming because so much sounds good, so we went with two 7 inch sandwiches to split--one hot and one cold. Although a helpful tip from the cashier is that you can order any cold sandwich hot. We had the Lucky Luciano (hot) and the Sophia (cold). Both were really good--it was hard to choose between the two. But if I'm being honest, that cold sandwich was reminiscent of subs I loved in the early 2000s from places that no longer exist...with that super thinly sliced turkey, thick slice of Swiss cheese, and basil mayo--it really hit the spot. We also had a cannolo--not as good as others I've had. The bottled root beer was delightful. The Lucky Luciano was the kind of sandwich I came here for, and don't get me wrong, it is deliciously cheesy and will make your hands messy. But the Sophia is the kind of sandwich I'll be craving. My only regret was not taking a sandwich to-go for later. Open a location closer to Houston, please. :)

They are a pepsi place (booooooo!), and there's no diet pepsi (pepsi zero is their only zero calorie soda option). If you drink Diet Coke (most popular diet drink in USA), then you don't want diet pepsi, but you'll probably drink it if you have to; however, you're very likely to hate pepsi zero (and Coke Zero, too), so no soda for you here anymore! A full Coke setup that also includes Dr Pepper AND Diet Dr Pepper is ideal. I realize a pepsi fountain is more profitable because of distributor incentives, but pepsi is favored by almost nobody and hated by many...so is it really worth it? Tony's is so great that pepsi just does not fit in. Hopefully they don't deteriorate further and change to Wonderbread for all of their sandwiches. Bottom line: at the very least, please add diet pepsi to your soda machine if that brand remains in place.

I ordered a Chicago-style hot dog (no…read moreonions, peppers, or pickles), a chili cheese dog, a medium fry, a chocolate cake shake, and a slice of their chocolate cake. The hot dogs had great flavor, and I liked the amount of toppings. The quality was solid, with a nice snap to the bite. The fries were mediocre nothing special But the real stars of the meal were the cake shake and the slice of chocolate cake. The hot dogs would make my rating a 4 but the cake slice + cake shake bumps my review up to a solid 5! I wasn't expecting the shake to be that good -- it was loaded with pieces of cake in every sip. The chocolate cake itself was moist, airy, and rich without being overly sweet. It had the perfect balance between cake and frosting. I'll definitely be back and making this a regular treat.

Just been so busy but finally got time to go and try. I will say that I wasn't impressed overall. But I also knew I was going for a hotdog and my friends were gonna order a broiled chicken sandwich. First from outside the bldg looks nice and modern and has a diner vibe. Inside looks diner/retro sorta and plenty of seats inside and outside. Overall appearance looks good. Staff friendly and welcoming and helpful with our questions since first time visitors. My main issue is they are pretty much à la carte. But do have a few combos on a center menu bar. but it didn't list all items or show all items available in combo form. I asked cashier if I had to order each item separate and she said yes. So my hotdog was $3.89, reg fries $2.99 and drink $2.49 so a total of $9.37 before taxes and the broiled chicken sandwich $7.19 so a total of $12.67 ea. Total for all 3 was $37.57 The hotdog had no size choices meaning regular or 100% beef frank or larger size. So the hotdog I got was a regular sized hotdog and the bun and toppings were bigger in size and portion then hotdog. The broiled chicken looks like a half of piece of a chicken patty, very small for the price. Way smaller than other fast food places like a chic-fil-a, Whataburger or Popeyes. The fries were actually really good but I wanted onion rings so when I asked the cashier if they were real onions cut up and battered or even pre frozen but real onion rings and not fake onions rings like BK she said no they are not real onion rings so I passed on ordering them. Once we went to the drink station they were out of sweet tea, and didn't have lids to fit the cups they gave us. I got a soda and then when I picked up our food I saw a drink station for drive thru and asked cashier if she could give me a sweet tea and she did but it didn't taste good at all so I decided to drink the root beer I originally poured. Trash bins were full, my table was clean but the seat I had to wipe down crumbs before sitting down. They had a lot of workers behind the counter not sure why there wasn't one or two in dining room cleaning and taking trash out and restocking drink station. Over all the hotdog did taste ok, but as a comparison the Chicago dog I use to get at James Coney Island with the option to upgrade to a beef frank is way better overall. They really should add an option to upgrade to a bigger dog. The chicken sandwich overall tasted good but very small and over priced. Due to portion size and higher prices compared to what you can get at other fast food places with larger portions I probably won't return.

We only tried the hoagies, chips, and fries, but everything was good. The hoagies came out in a crunchy baguette. I'm guessing the bread is Vietnamese banh mi bread rolls. They were crunchy and very light. I liked the Italian better than the cheesesteak. The cheesesteak is a little salty for my taste, but it is still decent. This is a small mom and pop, not a fancy or trendy place. I would compare it to a hole in the wall and many people take it to go. Lots of people were calling in for the pizza and take out.

Unfortunately about a year ago from the date of this review, Peter, which was the Asian owner of Chinese decent, decided to retire and long be gone. I was saddened to hear they I cannot get my delicious cheese steak sandwiches that I have not been able to find anywhere else. I'm a little bit biased to this establishment because I used to work there in the late '80s for a few months helping to make the preps for the foods there. Forward to now, I found this place upon a recommendation from a friend and semince this is a block for my residence I decided to try it. BLAST!! This is a spitting image out what ROCKY'S tasted like when it existed. I was blown away also when I heard that owner of this establishment that's been here for decades, was high school friend with Peter. (of Rocky's Subs) so they decided to open a business amongst each other in different places hence the parallel recipes as well as the pizza. It is rough inside and it showing its age but there are such thing as hole in the walls and sometimes they are the best places to eat correct? Well here is one of them and the bonus benefit is the prices are early 1990s currency! Where else can you get a Cheesesteak Hoagie for the price of around $7 and some change plus half price on the next one? This place never seems busy you know I was wondering how it stays open but hurry and get your cheese steak fixed before this guy decides to follow suit. There are coupons for the pizza that you can pick up at the counter and already at a very purposely priced average layout of $12 ish you can even get a discount off of that which you can feed a small party. This is one of those places where I tried it three times in one week and those that know me no that I will legitimately return as a nuisance until I'm sick of an establishment... and here I am. That Ambience is Cafe style and you're not going to get any decorations or happy cashiers but you will get a glimpse of its past ghostly history which seem to have been a Mexican restaurant at one time....decades ago! Don't let the outside deter you because there's not much to see and if you're driving past here fast enough, you might not see it and then when you step inside, don't get a double whammy of being surprised but just try the product for pizza sake, you will love it.

To start off, when I ordered my coffee, the guy at the register said they didn't have 8oz coffees. I was staring right up at the sign, and he said he didn't know why it said that because he didn't see it in the computer. (But gave me an 8oz cup anyway and charged me for a 12oz) I thought maybe he didn't know what a small 8oz looked lik? lol Not sure. Then I waited for about 20 minutes for them to bring me out a vegetarian sand which. I was the only person there for the first 10 minutes, and it seemed like either the guy forgot to tell them to make the sandwich, or the ladies forgot themselves. Because 10 minutes later the guy looked at me and apologized and said that it should be out in 3 minutes. Another 10 minutes later and still nothing. I was pretty annoyed at this point because how long does it take to throw some veggies together on a sand which!! I think he noticed at this point so he apologized to me again and said " I just told them to make it". At this point I was super annoyed, but I just waited. Meanwhile I waited I also noticed other customers had walked in and ordered a handful of desserts and it looked like they had to go back up to the counter because they were missing some of their order. I finally got my sandwich and left because it honestly seems like a cluster fuck. Thankfully the sandwhich was amazing. The mango dessert was, eh. Especially for the price point. I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but I felt this place was really deserving of one. Customer service was not there- he was not very friendly. Food took WAY LONGER than it should've especially because I was the only one there at first and for what I ordered. He didn't even know the specifics of their menu. Just absolutely disappointed. Will not be coming back

We ordered online and went through the drive-thru to pick up. When we pulled up to the window, no one even opened it to greet us. Then there was a 10-15 minute wait, which would have been one thing...I understand delays happen. What made it so frustrating was that with multiple employees working, not one person took a second to acknowledge the delay or simply say, "Hey, sorry for the wait, your food will be out soon." That's just basic courtesy. When we finally got our order, the employee handed us the food without saying a word. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We quickly checked the bag and everything seemed okay. Then we got home and realized that instead of fries, we were given potato wedges!!! It was BEYOND frustrating. If fries were unavailable, that should have been communicated before making the substitution!! Customers should at least be given the courtesy of deciding if they want something different instead of just finding out after they get home. What makes this even more frustrating is that this could have been avoided with simple communication and basic customer service. Today's experience was not just disappointing...it was extremely frustrating and honestly left us really bothered. I'm writing this in hopes that it's addressed with staff, because proper communication and basic courtesy should be the standard.
