I came to the restaurant last Saturday nite for dinner with my husband. Called first and the owner said no problem for a table but they were busy so come about 8:30. After a few minutes the owner said there would be a table outside on the deck in 15 mins so we went outside to the bar and waited, and waited and waited. Nobody returned to advise what was going on. Very frustrating...cant understand why they would not be honest and say it was crazy there. ordered fried Calamari at the bar. Dined at the restaurant about 2 months ago. I have brought my family to this restaurant (3) time, each time thinking we would have better service. The last time was it. I shall never return. The food is fabulous. The waiter, wish I remembered him name. He was pathetic. You come to dine and spend good money you would think you would be treated attentively. Our waiter never came to check up on us. My husband and I felt that he was not interested in giving us suggestions and actually made us feel uncomfortable because we did not give him the order fast enough. As if he had other places to be. The restaurant was not busy. Very unhappy with the service. The busboy was more attentive. Shame. The experience would have been completely different if we felt welcome. read more

Waterfront view does not compromise for poor service. None of the staff was warm or friendly. When the bread came, we asked for olive oil twice. We never received the olive oil. An hour and a half later we received our food. The waiter never came over with Parmesan cheese or pepper. The food was fine. It is certainly not like we are lacking Italian restaurants in Long Island. I will absolutely be opting for somewhere else next time. read more

We sat on the outdoor patio this past Sunday. The food was very good as was the service. We both had one of the specials so I cannot comment on the regular menu. Only drawback was stale bread. If that bread was delivered Sunday morning they need a new bread guy. One of the worst things you can do is serve me yesterday's bread warmed up. I hate that almost as much as bringing my coffee 10 minutes before or after the dessert arrives. They got this part right though as our desserts came right behind our coffee. I've been here twice, previously for a graduation both times The restaurant was pretty much flawless. The service staff was experienced, and knew just about everything there was to know when it came to the menu, and the place as a whole. They accommodated my nut allergy, and the anniversary meal I had was outstanding. The fish was as fresh as could be, and the atmosphere was excellent with the live music. I would've liked to sit outside because their deck on the water looked like a relaxing place to have a nice meal, but it unfortunately rained. Before I continue, let me just say I'm not exaggerating, repeat NOT exaggerating Anyway, we made a reservation at this place for a somewhat large party for my grandma's birthday (she's old). We arrived to the place early to get the party going. However, it took them forever to even get us the menu never mind the food we ended up ordering. It took them THREE HOURS to get us our food. I literally wanted to get up and leave idk how many times but my family wanted to stay for some reason. We literally sat there and watched other people get seated, get their food, and leave before we got our food. The other parties weren't necessarily small neither so that couldn't be the problem. It was worse because we sat next to the kitchen door so I saw plate after plate come out the kitchen but none of it was for us. To top it all off, the reservation was at 7...we didn't get food until 10...my grandma is like 80 something...that's her bed time lol. The food was good, but you can get overpriced Italian food elsewhere to be honest. They tried giving us a couple bottles of wine to say sorry but if you get hangry like me, very little makes up for it three hours later. Had dinner here with a group of 8. Sat outside. Very busy. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Wait staff was hustling- very accommodating. Needed a few reminders, but no big deal- didn't ruin the night. Had a great experience here for our anniversary last fall. So made a reservation way in advance for Valentines Day. Arrived on time and was ushered by the owner past tables with red candles flickering and the look of the day to the upstairs where the ambiance resembled a sail loft at the local boatyard. Got the second string waiters running up and down the stairs. I guess that why I wasn't even offered a second drink. Very disappointed considering I booked way in advance. I guess I wasn't sized up as a big spender. Interestingly enough met a couple on the way out who apparently knew the owner and was seated right in the middle of the fun. The waiter was kind and attentive, and the food was good. We had a couple of issues with broccoli but the waiter attended to out problem and fixed it right away. Dessert was scrumptious. I suggest going to this restaurant for a quick dinner. read more

Great Place. Secluded neighborhood. We dined on the water and they have the greatest Cesar's salad. I highly recommend it.

Food was great however the noise level in this place is almost unbearable. You have to be a constant scream in order for your group to hear you. Maybe if you go at an off peak time it will be less noisy. Again food was great. read more

We dined on the restaurant deck of Villa D' Aqua, on a lovely summer evening with amazing live soft piano music with vocals. The musician is a regular who is extremely popular with the patrons. The deck is beautifully adorned with live potted palms, and boxed and pots of colorful annuals. The place was packed. The support staff was efficient and we had our water glasses filled, bread and bar drinks pretty quickly. The menu has a nice variety and there were many additional specials. The food was tasty, no complaints, and we enjoyed the coffee and dessert. The main flaw in this otherwise perfect dining experience was the wait service. They are slow, and probably short staffed given the large number of patrons this restaurant brings in. There were long waits between each course. Also, after the first water fill up and drink order, no one returned to refill us or inquire if we needed another round. The bus staff had to be told to remove our empty dishes after they sat significantly on the table. There was a hostess who stood and watched attentively, but contributed nothing to help the process along. We would eat here again, primarily since it is a lovely spot for outside dining with great ambience and tasty food, but our expectations will need to be lower next time regarding the service. read more

Had a dinner for four last night. The reservation was at 8:00 pm and we told our waiter immediately that we have to make a show at 10:00 pm. We sat there until 8:30 pm watching the waiters go back and forth, passing our table by. The atmosphere was so noisy I could not hear any one at my table, nor could I hear one word of the specials for the evening when the waiter finally came around. That only happened because my husband had to raise his voice enough to be heard above the roar. The food was just okay, finally served by 9:30 pm, no time for coffee and dessert. I attended a beautifully organized Baby Shower that the soon to be Grand Ma's put awesome details into. That being said, the Nice Party was not because of the staff or Owner of Villa D'Aqua. The Staff was not there when the families came to decorate at 10:30 even though they had permission to do so, no one let them in till 11:20 Party set to begin at noon. No air-conditioning on so the restaurant was like an oven, Then here's an idea, lets mop the floor 5 minutes before guests are scheduled to arrive, with STRONG cleaner, and open the doors so the floor will dry (goodbye any air that was starting to cool off the room). People are arriving, so lets have the Owner (my assumption older gentleman who sat at the front table) scream at the top of his lungs at the staff when the guests are walking through he room. No soda on the tables, no water till almost 12:30. Food was slightly better than the service. Only with the exception of Vladimir(not sure this is his real name) the service was flat out terrible, people should not have to keep asking for water, the luncheon included a champagne punch, Getting refills was a chore! Also there were children as well as Pregnant ladies there, so asking for an alternative was like asking for the Hope Diamond, Air-conditioner and lights go out halfway through the party( welcome back to the oven) yes I appreciate Bellmore had a blackout but in this after Storm Sandy life what restaurant doesn't have a backup generator, yep that would be this one. Mommy to be starts her gifts, These idiots are carrying hot food right through the area to the outside area as well as the upstairs! Seriously! How do you not have them going through the OTHER door right by older man sitting, Hmmm maybe he didn't want to lose his cool spot! I really wish there was something that I could say was positive, From the hostess flipping her hair over and over again, pull it out, pick it up re-do it, regardless of people eating right next to her, to the flat out rudeness of the older gentleman when anyone who approached him about the unbearable heat, to please have water on the tables WATER!!!! We made reservations for the Villa D'aqua in Bellmore for our 27th wedding anniversary. Stated this on the phone to the "boss" when we called. We were treated like "muck" When we were to be seated were instructed to pick a table. ...outside....which we did not want. and we suggested we would have a drink at the bar and wait for an inside table, at the bar I inquired which pinot grigio, they served and the bar tender, poured a little, which I declined and asked for a red.....to which she replied, have you brushed your teeth! ......excuse me! .....then the Boss beconed us to a table in the restaurant, which was not set...not only not set...but the table cloth still had the crumbs from the last patrons on the table......no settings ...no menus and No server....We walked out! Not Good! Too bad we paid for our drinks at the bar and also tipped the bar tender way too much! read more

Worst service ever!! I would never eat at this restaurant again! I made reservations for 6:30pm for a friend's birthday. There were 7 of us and we sat outside. We were completely ignored. After an hour we still hadn't gotten our menus so we had to ask for them. When we asked for bread, nobody brought it. We asked several times before anyone brought the bread to us. It was very buggy so we asked for the citronella candles to be lit. They said they would and then didn't light them. Again, we had to ask numerous times before anyone lit the candles for us. Now, two hours had passed and we still did not get our dinners!! The waiter kept telling us that our food would be right out, but it never came. Then, to make matters worse, it began raining and there were no tables available inside to seat us at. We asked to speak to the manager and he became defensive/angry when we said we wanted to leave because of the terrible service. None of the staff was apologetic and it ruined my friend's birthday! Avoid this restaurant if you don't want to wait over 2 hours for your meal!! read more

First of all, I do find the food delicious. I am not an Italian, so maybe I can't critique an Italian meals criteria, but I have had several dishes that were very delicious. Granted I didn't like the spreads, but that's my discriminating taste. I would return for the food. Service is another thing. Now if it doesn't matter much to you personally, It wasn't extremely horrible, but I did feel a "dismissive" attitude from the waiters. And I have had friends and family that have been waiters so I do get it, therefore I do go over-board with my friendliness...still their aloofness was hard to swallow. Another objection is their set-up for parties. That I would not do again. Why? well, during our beautifully planned event, they allowed others (from the other events going on) to barge through our party to go to the bathrooms!!!!! They interfered with our photography...we have STRANGERS in our photos. Can you imagine? It was disruptive and shows the lack of sensitivity from the owner. He did not care about anything other than money. And come to think of it, he had a dismissive attitude to the host of the party--everything she requested, having spent time with him going over food choices, table placements or even number of people at each table, was totally disregarded. We ended up having to rearrange the chairs and tables, and eating whatever he chose. Incredibly odd restaurant owner behavior. But that being said, the food HE chose was delicious and I do like the ambiance of the French Door Room at the back. It just doesn't lend itself to entertaining. Many people were very surprised at the easiness of people marching through someone else' party! A piece of advice for the owner. . . Only have one party at a time! read more

I went here for dinner tonight with a friend. Since it was the first time going I read over some of the previous reviews. I will admit I was a bit nervous due to some of the comments. Upon arrival we were greeted by the bartender and host. We were a bit early so we sat at the bar and had a drink and nice conversation with the bartender and pianist. After drinks we were seated at our table and greeted by our waiter. He was fun and friendly. We started with our salads which were delicious. We also were both very happy with our meals. I had lobster with muscles and clams. Everything was cooked to perfection. My friend had the veal which she said came out perfect. The wait staff was so friendly and we had fun joking with them as well. Dessert was wonderful and we were even offered after dinner drinks on the house! I will definetly be back here again and had to be sure to write about my experience, especially after reading the negative comments. Everything was wonderful and we had a great night!!! read more

Four of us dined here for Valentines day, made a reservation ten days in advance, didn't seem to matter, the owner did not look in the book for our name. He offered us a table in the middle of the room, right in the way of all the foot traffic, and it was so loud. Then he offered us a table upstairs instead which he said was quieter so we went. We didn't know that sitting upstairs meant twenty degrees colder and the worst service you could imagine. Talk about a waiter that couldn't give a crap, brought wrong appetizers, then brings only 3, this went on and on with everything. The food could have been great if they paid more attention to details such as more than 3 drops of balsamic on the plate of a caprese salad, provide a more generous portion of lobster ravioli and make sure the sauce is HOT, fresh bread on the table. Bring the coffee with the dessert not thirty minutes later. Fortunately we always have fun with our great friends, but it won't be at this place again. read more

Very good food, but terrible service. We had reservations for 7 at 6:30 on a Thursday. We were promptly seated outside. A beautiful eating area. Water and a loaf of bread along with a small olive and tuna spread were brought. ( I can't figure out why tuna spread was given). Anyway, the bread was lousy. I am a big bread eater and this was less than good. A cold, fairly stale loaf of who knows what type of bread. Next we waited and waited. Not exaggerating but we waited 40 minutes before a waiter asked if we had menus. Which we said no to. We all ordered and when the food arrived, the waiter didn't know who got what. My friend ordered salmon, he received salmon with portobello mushrooms. He told the waiter that he didn't order it,waiter said he would just charge him for plain salmon. Other friend ordered dry salmon with plain potatoes, thy brought him the regular potato that came "all fixed up". He didn't touch it. I had a pasta dish . Bottom line, the food was very good, average size portions. But the service was horrendous. We got there at 6:30 and left at 9:15. I guess this place is good if you aren't in a hurry. Went there a couple of nites ago for a group function. Will never go there again. The appetizers were terrible. Opted to not have any of the three choices since I thought I would not be able to finish the main course....ha....got the veal which turned out to be one tiny sliver of veal covered with ala vodka sauce ( I mean who puts ala vodka sauce on veal?), one tiny potatoe and a sprig of broccoli. I fully expected the mediocre dessert to come with ala vodka sauce on it. Seems like they like to cover everything with it. The cheesecake was grainy and watery and the terimisu was garbage. All we got for a beverage was water on the table and we had to practically beg for that. The waiter was surly and actually bordering on nasty when I asked him for a pitcher of water for our table. They did not have enough tables set up for us and it was hot and stuffy in the upstairs room. This place is definitely not worth the money we paid for dinner. We will never hold another function there again. This place deserves a no star rating. I just wish I had read all the bad reviews about this place first. read more
