    Destiny E.

Let me give you The quick and dirty review because I do not care enough to go in the way I probably should: Room: very nice and very clean. It did feel like the temperature was inconsistent, regardless of what we put the setting on, but we had a one bedroom suite, and it was very cute. Two showers, one tub, a full kitchen, and a patio with a hammock. Loved it. It was very modern and very nice. Food: the food here was honestly terrible. Some of the worst resort food I've ever had in my life. The best food we found was eating at the café by the pool, which is where I think the food also comes from when you order food near the pool or on the beach. The fish tacos and wings were great. We also got great food and great service at the sports bar and Italian restaurant. Best restaurant drinks at the Italian restaurant as well. Other than that, everything was trash. Do not even go to the buffet. It will be a waste of your time and you will probably end up wasting a ton of food because it's all disgusting. Funny that the Mexican restaurant was also gross, considering the fact that we were in Mexico. Entertainment: nonexistent. This was, by far, the most boring resort at which I have ever stayed. The the most entertaining thing was when we participated in very early morning, yoga one day. And it was hot as hell. But it was a beautiful setting, and I actually appreciated some of the postures the yoga instructor threw out. But having to walk to the neighboring resort to go to, that was annoying. There was one black woman who sang and played a guitar/keyboard during the day by the pool. She was great, but that was about it. Service: as a whole, not great. Azucena at the beach bar was fantastic, though. The check-in process took far too long and was a bit of a nightmare. Drinks: not great. I ended up drinking so little alcohol this entire trip. So many drinks were watered down or full of cheap liquor when I asked for top shelf. I guarantee that 70% of the top shelf bottles were full of cheap, local liquors, because I would literally feel nothing, but would feel sick. Most of my drinks were Coca-Cola. And even those didn't taste right because they like squeeze the can to get it out quicker into the cups. Beach: very rocky and covered in sargassum (seaweed). They ran a tractor like vehicle across the beach multiple times a day to try to clean it up, which is appreciated, but ultimately the beaches weren't very nice. I would not return here. It was a relatively cheap trip and I still don't think it was worth what we paid. I also don't like being approached repeatedly by aggressive sales people trying to sell me a damn timeshare.

Another amazing stay at Villa Del Palmar! My family and I (2 kids and 2 adults + grandparents) stayed at VDP last year for April break and we were so impressed we went back again this year. Another exception stay! Well the rooms seemed just that little bit more worn this year they are still very large and spacious. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view and it did not disappoint! Great view of the ocean, having a master suite, living room and 2 queens in another room is amazing with kids. It comes with two balconies with hammocks which is a nice feature. The pools are fantastic, water was always warm enough and a good temp when you are in 80+ degree weather. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and our kids spent their time either in the kids club with the fantastic staff there or pool hopping. Pool side food and drinks are great! They switched up the menu from the prior year and added a few more options which was very welcomed! The food quality is really good! Restaurants are great, and quality if on average very good! Personally if you can get into Garza Blanca (hotel attached) the restaurants there are superior! DAO, and Hiroshi are exceptional, Davino's is on par with them. Zama is great for a sit down lunch or Mexican evening, my least favourites are the steak restaurants, they just don't do a good steak in my opinion, it has no crust and is essentially grey! Otherwise food is great! The staff are really what make this place special! They go above and beyond at all times! Highly recommend!

This review is for FERNANDO at DAO at GARZA BLANCA! He was a wonderful waiter. Friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly sweet. He knew the menu very well, suggested the most amazing margarita for us and made the evening so fun even for my kiddos. He was a joy! He should be running the restaurant!

I very much regret coming to this place. The location is amazing, the waiters and food are good. Everything else is corporate greed at its worst. Always squeezing every nickel out of that they can. $1000/day for food daily, something they doing on you after you make all your reservations. Internet is extra, every little thing, even after that is stressful. The concierge on site is pretty much there to upsell you to timeshare. A massive scam if I've ever seen one. Would avoid at all costs.

Promised a two bedroom ocean view room what I paid for, rooms were beautiful, but no ocean view. Tried to speak to manager Daniel regarding this concern he never would come from the back room to address any situation. They nab you right off the bat to do a timeshare presentation before you even get checked in. Not many night activities.

As my first all inclusive I did enjoy this for my family however I would most likely not go back as the beach was not great. - service was exceptional everyone was nice and friendly however lacked sufficient pool staff - buffet was good for breakfast but dinner seafood dinner was lacking (way too many flies at the buffet). Servers were great attentive and incredibly nice - the steak house was great! Servers amazing food best we experienced on the trip - zama (Mexican) was good - beach was lack luster and too much algae/sea grass -rooms were great and spacious -pools were great -this resort is far removed from the hotel district so you need to take a taxi to go anywhere

Having lived in the Caribbean, I have been to a lot of beach resorts. For me, this one was pretty good overall. Is it perfect for everyone? Probably not. But, I liked it. First, I found the rooms to be very spacious and comfortable. The beds/pillows/towels/etc. were excellent. Also, they have a hammock on the balcony that allows you to really relax by the ocean. Our room was a 6th floor oceanview 1 bedroom suite -- highly recommended. With this option, there was a master bed, couch, murphy bed, kitchen, and washer/dryer (awesome if you're getting dirty on the beach or exploring!). This allowed our family a lot of room to spread out. The housekeeping was very attentive. Every day, they will clean the room and return at night to see if you need anything extra (coffee, water, etc.). Super nice. They have a lot of pools on the property including one with a waterfall bridge that kids will enjoy. While there are not waterslides and more extravagant water features, it was pretty nice overall. The kids liked exploring. The beach offers kayaking and has a large inflatable floaty in the ocean. Kids can swim out to it and have fun climbing and jumping (they provide life jackets). Restaurants: Zama and Caprichos were the ones we tried. We didn't pay for all inclusive. Why? Because we are not the types of people who stay at the resort all the time. We are likely to be out 30-100% of the day and aren't big drinkers. So, that means missing meals and drinks that "all inclusive" prices in. Thus, I found it better to just pay "ala carte" for meals. Yes -- it is expensive. But, if you do the math, you may save money this way even paying full price. (1) Caprichos: Very good buffet restaurant. Huge variety of foods at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was probably the most extensive you can imagine -- everything and anything was there. Super good. For New Years Eve, we did their buffet. It was even more than what we saw on a "normal day." Just eye-popping and very extravagant foods. You will see Mexican specialties and regular things too. (2) Zama: This is a more casual Mexican restaurant that is near all the pools. Dinner menu was better than the lunch one. Chicken Mole was fantastic. Likewise, enjoyed their appetizers and drinks. Highly recommended. Pricing was okay for a resort. (3) Minimart/Shop in resort: Expensive. But, decent option if you need something. If you want to save money, walk out of the resort gate and a few feet away is a very nice Shell station. They have almost the same stuff at 1/2 the price. Another tip: Uber delivers groceries in Cancun. I did that once for some snacks and items. They offer COVID-19 testing at the resort. But, I also saw it all over the place in Mexico. Even the ferry terminal had a place. Anyway, we did the test at the resort. Schedule it when you check in. Then, on the day of the test, pay early to avoid the lines. Test went very smooth. Have no fear - they didn't ram the q-tip into your sinuses! Pros: 1) Nice spacious room 2) Away from hotel zone -- so MUCH more peaceful (and probably safer) than other parts of Cancun. Probably better for families and not party people. 3) Clean / Chill atmosphere. 4) Good food and service. 5) Can arrange tours, activities, airport transfers. Cons: 1) Beach isn't the most beautiful one in the area. I'd say it is average. 2) Away from "true" Cancun (if that matters to you). 3) Had a "check out" pass paper that you have to hand to the bellhops when leaving. I lost the paper and had to get a new one. Just seemed like a weird procedure. Overall service at the resort was excellent. We didn't have any issues during our stay and they were helpful. Would definitely go back!

I even noted my birthday on the reservation and mentioned it to my butler the day of. Unfortunately, my birthday came and went with nothing. Only after I complained did decorations appear the following day along with an opportunity for a free spa massage in exchange for listening to a 90 min sales pitch. After such a missed opportunity with the birthday decor, I should've known it was going downhill from here. After the presentation that ended up being 3 hours not 90 mins, I signed up the the Inspira vacation membership but changed my mind the following day. I submitted a cancellation request for the membership within the contract's grace period and received no response until after that period had passed. It's says a lot about the character of a brand when a company is highly responsive during the sales process but far less responsive when a customer exercises their contractual rights. Also, Maria Dolores wasn't great. It was actually a 5/10. The other restaurants on property have way better food. After this experience, I will NEVER return.

To be honest, we can't imagine spending New Year's Eve anywhere else. Both times have been absolutely fantastic; the team didn't skip a beat. The resort is stunning and impeccably maintained, but what truly makes this place a gem is its incredible team and vibrant atmosphere. Entertainment The entertainment is top-notch, with a variety of high-energy performances each night. We were absolutely blown away by the Freddie Mercury tribute act. The resemblance was uncanny, and his energy was simply amazing--he had the whole place rocking! It's shows like that that make the evenings so memorable. The Heart of the Resort: The Staff As wonderful as the resort itself is, the staff are the real reason we started planning our next trip back before we even left. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and are the key to the entire experience. We spent most of our days at the Excellence Club pool, and our waiter, Floricel, was a true standout. He was wildly attentive and responsive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. He didn't just take orders; he helped us discover the most incredible new drinks and his fun, engaging personality truly made our days by the pool so much more enjoyable. Our concierges, Edgar and David, were unbelievably helpful. From the moment we arrived, they helped us navigate our time at the resort, making reservations and ensuring every detail was handled. Having a dedicated concierge team like them is so important; they remove all the stress of planning and make you feel completely prioritized and cared for throughout your entire stay. We truly felt like their only guests. We also have to give a shout-out to Cesar at the lobby bar. We were so impressed that he recognized us from our previous trip, and of course, we remembered him! He is exceptionally attentive, and man, that guy is fast. He's a true professional. Last but certainly not least, a special mention goes to the man running the pizza oven at the main pool. He deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his craft. He was just killing it all day, every day, serving up perfect pizzas with a smile. It's this level of service and genuine warmth from the staff that makes Excellence Playa Mujeres feel like a home away from home. We came back home so refreshed and can't wait to return.

We paid approximately $17,000 for this vacation, so it was disappointing that throughout the resort there were several instances where staff seemed to be expecting additional tips, creating an awkward atmosphere. I understand that some employees may not have known our package included gratuities, but it still left us feeling uncomfortable. We have previously stayed at Secrets Akumal and Secrets The Vine, and both experiences were exceptional. We love the Secrets brand and were excited to try this property. The resort itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean. Some staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the level of service was inconsistent throughout our stay, and we encountered multiple situations where staff members were unhelpful, unfriendly, or simply rude. As Preferred Club guests, we checked in through the Preferred Lounge. One of our rooms had a significant mosquito problem. When I asked the Preferred concierge if anything could be done, I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. Only after I continued to press the issue was I told the room could be fumigated. The concierge took down the requested date and time, but when we followed up the next day, no one had any record of the request, and we had to start the process all over again. The food experience was also inconsistent. Our first dinner at El Patio was excellent, but when we returned another evening, much of the food was overcooked and dry. One of the cocktails we ordered was noticeably missing sweetness. We knew this because we had been ordering the same drink throughout the resort. When we politely mentioned it to our server, he repeatedly insisted nothing was wrong with it. My husband suggested it might simply need more syrup. Instead of taking the drink back to have it corrected, the server brought a bottle of syrup to the table. His demeanor throughout the interaction was cold and dismissive. Another disappointing experience occurred on our final morning. My parents went to Market Café for breakfast by themselves and sat patiently for quite some time without anyone taking their drink order. My mother eventually approached a server to ask for assistance. That employee spoke with the server assigned to their section, but no one ever came to the table. My mother had to seek help a second time before receiving service. Ironically, near the end of the meal, the assigned server finally appeared and asked how everything was. The entire situation felt bizarre and completely avoidable. These experiences were surprising because they are not what we have come to expect from the Secrets brand or from a five-star resort. We don't know whether the service issues were related to the fact that gratuities were already included in our package or if there were other factors involved. We would have gladly tipped additional staff members for exceptional service if gratuities had not already been included. While the property itself is beautiful, the inconsistent service significantly impacted our overall experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, we would not return to this resort.

There are pros and cons to this resort. I think the experience really is per person/family because…read morelots of reviews seem to differ. I liked my stay in the beginning, but closer to the end I wasn't so impressed. Leading up, their Instagram page and the online website really hype up the place. We chose this location for our Babymoon with our first child (1.5 yrs old). I'm 5 months pregnant so the variety of food, pools, and fun for little one was a big appeal. Resort & staff: The resort is beautiful and clean, and the staff are very friendly. But some staff don't seem to know what's going on or how to help, while others are going through the motions. When we asked the concierge for directions to the Kids Club, she sent us to "PB"/lower level where the staff only was. This happened a lot as we saw many other guests saying the same thing "she told us to come to PB". Another staff member didn't know how to get to the Kids Club even though it was located right behind the kids water, a few steps away from where he was working. Kids & teen club: The activities and shows are really only worth it if your child is age 3 and up. You can't take your 1 or 2 year old into the clubs unless it's during family time, which are in the mornings during certain time. The one time we were able to go, no one was there. They were at the kids water park instead. Activities: On the app, they have a lot going on. But nothing actually goes on. Activities run behind schedule and the events you'd actually want to go to don't start until late at night. This didn't work for us most of the time but we just did some later naps for our babe to stay up late. The Circus and Magic shows seem to be the highlight be we're only available during the week. Other days the shows we planned to go to would be canceled morning of, and there would only be DJ's or karaoke. Food: A good variety but everything is pretty meh. Great for kids though as there is something for everyone! Check the app as certain restaurants are closed and others open. Dress code is semi strict for men. Reservations for Hibachi are a must! App can be finicky. Best eats for us: Fusion and Tres Colores Pool: All pools were very kid friendly, especially Mermaid. There was a little "beach" area to walk in and the alternative side had a little splash pool. There were splash pad areas at both pools. Mermaid pool appeared to have the younger kids while Sealegs had more teens and adults. Staff become a lot more friendly if you tip. Room: We had the Junior Suite? At the main building on level 4. There was a mini leak above the fan that we called in and put a towel down. They seemed to have "checked it out" because the towel was gone but it wasn't patched and it continued to drip the rest of our stay. We were worried because it was right above where we put our toddlers crib. 2 nights before checkout there was another leak by the A/C system or whatever it is, right in front of the bathroom door. The leak was spontaneous but a lot of water poured out. We called it in again and they said they would "check it out" again. We had to put 2 big towel on the ground and someone definitely checked it out because they just pushed the towels to the side. No patch work was done and it continued to pour. When I woke up at 5:00 am there was water from the bathroom door all the way to where the end of the closet was. As a 5 month pregnant lady, stepping in this and the potential to slip is absolutely upsetting. Even more upsetting that we made them aware of our room's problems 3x but they made no effort to fix it or to potentially put us in another room. We told them again at check-out and our concierge seemed to already be aware of where the leak was, and just apologized. Nothing more. Bali Beds: We reserved a Sealegs Bali Bed before our arrival. Keep your receipts! At check-out they tried to say we owed them an extra charge of $150. We showed our email and they had to call someone to double check. Took about 15 minutes. At the end of the day it is a tourist destination, so they do what they can. We spoke to some other families (with kids ages 5 and older) who said they love it here and have come back. For me, I personally wouldn't recommend and would try a different resort.

The resort was clean (very clean), things worked as intended, the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful, and the food was good! It always helps when you're in Mexico and you get good weather (which we did) but these folks had the grounds and resort, itself, firing on all cylinders. My down-rankings were in the lack of daily engagement and night-time activities. Besides a massive party thrown for the superbowl, I didn't notice any nighttime activites (could be my fault for not looking into it more) and the daily activities existed but the staff didn't really try very hard to pull people "into the fight", if you will. Having said that, these luxuries that I've seen at other brands did not take away from the wonderful experience that my friends and I had!

The food was actually delicious at every restaurant and buffet we tried. Their speciality restaurants were exquisite. Plenty of bars and night action as well. We were impressed by everything. From the convenience of the golf carts that made getting around the resorts so easy to the water taxi's that just enhanced the experience. We visited their spa which was undoubtedly the best spa experience I've ever had, international or in the states. All of the alcohol was top notch and the service matched the aesthetic.... Perfect! We paid for a "premium" upgrade only to discover the bars weren't fully stocked. Bartenders' excuse was either "low season" or "we had a large party" (Newsflash: Resorts have reservations and can plan for capacity in advance). Half the restaurants were closed because of "low season." And, if you're looking for a romantic evening sipping champagne by the pool, foorget it. The "adult" pool, part of the "premium" upgrade, closes at 8 pm. Yes, EIGHT PM. With so many great alternatives in Cancun this is one to avoid. What a joke. An expensive joke.

We set our expectations high for this place considering all the reviews/ratings on Trip Advisor,…read moreGoogle, Facebook, and Yelp. Adults only, couples only, all-inclusive resort - that's a big yes! We hadn't been to a resort in a long time and were very stoked for our visit in August 2025. As is the standard for the Excellence brand of resorts - the staff greeted us warmly and professionally. Instantly, our needs were taken care of - the room wasn't ready, but we were provided with an opportunity to change and immediately take advantage of our stay. The size of the resort initially threw us off - it is much smaller than your typical resort, but it also caters to a smaller crowd for (their words) "a boutique experience." It seemed dead until we got close to the beach area and the swim-up bar. This is where the people hang out. Dinner at El Mar our first night was amazing - excellent seafood (check out the pics) and service. We ate twice each at Lupita Steakhouse and La Isla. Unfortunately, the hotel kept changing the schedule of which restaurant would be open what night. This threw off our dinner plans more than once, and we spent more time at La Isla (with the least exciting menu) getting eaten by mosquitoes than we cared for. During our stay, the beach snacks menu also changed. It went from a delicious two-page menu to a sad one-pager; gross nachos and hot dogs, anyone? Online, people went on full-on rants about this. It turns out the menus across all the Excellence resorts are being stream-lined to the new executive chef's "vision." Some people, from what I read online, are now considering cancelling their reservations, not wanting to fly all the way here for waffles and burgers. On top of the rebranding, the hotel is also undergoing renovations to bring it up to modern times. We thought our room was beautiful, but it was a tad outdated. For customer service, though - the Excellence brand will not settle for less than, well, excellence. All of our interactions with staff at all levels was top-notch. Because of the vibe here - we didn't talk to anyone but hotel staff for four whole days. Staff shout-outs: Denise, Luis, Fernando and Fabiola at the beach; Octavio and Bernice at the spa; Andrea, Aina, and Alexander at guest services; Pasquale, Alex, and Elvis at pool side; Cirilo and Vanya at El Mar, Brenda at La Isla, and Alberto and Barbra at Lupita. Fantastic job, everyone! Vibe: 5/5. Food: 3/5. Room: 4/5. Customer service: 10/10!!!!!

The morning breakfast buffet at Le Bisou has an array of fresh fruits, pastries, and sushi. The morning breakfast buffet at Isla Trattoria offers more traditional Mexican dishes. The cabana rentals are only $60 for the entire day and come with a coconut drink, mimosa bar, and fresh fruits. We will be back!!!

Second visit and another GREAT vacation! We have been fortunate to travel to some amazing…read moredestinations and this place is special. It's fairly new and a lot to love here. But we read a lot of reviews at Yelp, trip advisor, ect, and the reviews are mostly glowing and no mention of anything that could be better. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort, but there were a few things that could have been better. But thus was overall the best AI and we will return. Shootout to an exceptional employee Jhordy at inspira pool who went way above and hope to see next time. Our butlers, Ping Ting and Aline were fabulous.. and will request them next time. They made everything run smoother and got us ALL the reservations at the times we wanted. Def would have not happened w/o a butler. Not intrusive at all. appreciated fuss made for our 27th anniversary . A lot sets this apart from other all inclusives. I feel the food and the cocktails are better and more selecting. We often are celebrating either a birthday or anniversary on vacation, and they always ask at resorts. But then nothing is ever done or said to honor it, which is disappointing. That was not the case here. It seemed every server congratulated us on what we are celebrating. made us feel very special, plus I assume the butlers sent roses and champagne with a big chocolate heart to our room. very much appreciated. It might seem childish, but these dates mean something to me, and I appreciate when they are acknowledged. This is a fairly new resort, and everything seems very clean and well kept. The staff was warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. If they were understaffed or having a bad day, they sure hid it. Love the way the common areas and bathrooms smell ... omg you will see. I love the fragrance of the molten brown amenities ..going to buy some. Our inspira swim out room was large, quiet, and luxurious. Well-appointed and lovely. The tub was amazing, but they don't have shampoo and conditioner in that area, and the areas they do have amenities it's locked in, so you can't move it. Is inspira worth the extra? We did it both times. Would not risk being upgraded to an inspire Without the cost. Inspira gives you more access, and I believe a bump in service. If you are fortunate enough to afford it then get it ... if not then don't. In the reviews, I didn't run across many with even minor complaints that they could improve, but there are always things that could be better. I'm gonna put those in the tip area ,so if they want to improve a bit on an already great resort. I love it here and the staff are the truly the best. What signs they have are easy Missed And they don't have a lot of signs directing you especially to area that used to be for families. Personally, I think they wanted to make it harder for the family.People to come over to the all adult area back when it was two different resorts. Now that it. 's all adult I really think they should figure out a way to make it easier to navigate. We didn't know that there was a restaurant that had Buffet for all three meals Until halfway through our second Visit. Well i'm gonna leave some tips In the tip area. Because I don't want this to seem like I had a bad trip. This was incredibly relaxing and luxurious and wonderful. Exceptional staff make all the difference. Mixologists at Calle bar are so fun to watch them create liquid art. No one ignored us and no bad attitudes. I would say one of ... possibly the best all inclusive we have tried in all our travels. Sorry sandals, excellence, secrets, Iberostar u have been out done. employees went above the call bring lots of tip money.

Five star all-inclusive and adults only resort!…read more Newly opened resort about 40 mins from Cancun airport and 20 minutes further from hotel zone. Our reservations was for (7) days and the length of time felt right. We booked two excursions; (i) visit Chichen Itza on a tour; and (ii) visit Playa Mujeres on a catamaran. Chicen Itza is a "must do" if you visit Cancun for the first-time (no question). Following our two excursions it was back to the resort to relax, eat and sleep! The resort has (7) eateries from avant garde, to breakfast buffet, steakhouse, italian, american, asian and pastry cafe. The exquisite culinary cuisines at each restaurant was phenomenal but the steakhouse, asian and buffet ranked highest for me. The bars on property were sexy and classy from the rooftop ocean views, lobby and swim up bars with the staff making our experience special. By far, the sky bar and lobby bar were the spots for me each day serving "top shelf drinks". There is also no need to leave your room if you're hungry, room service was impeccable by bringing your meals in a warm service cart with all the condiments and proper silverware. I highly recommend the New York Strip! There is no denying feeling compelled to stay on property to maximize an all-inclusive, but this is one property I'd have no issues being stranded at. Service is first-class, staff is highly attentive and respectful of your privacy and the resort is highly luxurious. If the opportunity to splurge on a room permits, I'd recommend the swim up pool on the ground floor(s) to enjoy swimming under the stars at night with that someone special, you'll forever remember those moments.

Probably the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. The swim up pool connected to room was a perfect place to enjoy room service breakfast and have a morning dip and start the day right. And a great place to cool down at night long after the main pool closed. We had great service at the main pool from Brayan. He remembered us and our drink order. We purposely sat in his area both days because the service was spectacular. The food was not amazing but that's to be expected at all Inclusives. What was most frustrating was the reservation system or lack there of. The butler service wasn't very helpful and the website would say places were open and you'd show up and they were actually closed. Our favorite meal was at Portofino on the Grand Palladium side.
