Growing up in a huge Italian family, over the years I've come to appreciate good Italian food. Villa Monte surpasses "good" Italian food, and crosses over to "outstanding" Italian food. I've explored a good portion of Villa Monte's menu and still to this day haven't been disappointed. Delivery or My personal favorite dish is their Stuffed Rigatoni; there's just something about their sauce. My family and I have been coming to Villa Monte since they opened. The staff has become like family to us, and we have never had a negative experience. Everyone is so lovely there, and they really make the restaurant feel like home. I did not eat the pizza...so I have no idea how that is. Service: AWFUL Food: While the portions were HUGE and tasted good going down, I am STILL sick from the insane amount of garlic they use and it is almost 24 hours later! I threw out the leftovers. Hidden charges: they charge extra if you change the sauce that is on a dish! $2 extra...and they don't tell you. Apparently it is on the menu (someone told me it was) but, really, I have NEVER been to a place that charges extra if you change a sauce so who would notice that little note on the menu? (what is the difference between a red sauce and fra diavolo? A few red pepper flakes? Certainly not worth an extra $2) They charge extra if you want vegetables instead of pasta (almost $7 extra!) Seriously I have given this Pizza shop several times but it never works . The Pizza Pie That They Delivered was burnt on the bottom . I went another Time for Pickup and again it was burnt . The Next trip was my final . I ordered Chicken Parm slices , Cold To go . when I came home in the box was one Chicken Parm and one other that was a plain slice with chicken thrown on it . When I went in to order the man said he wanted to heat it up but that was not the case . all he did was take a regular slice and throw chicken on top Terrible . The food is great! But the customer service is horrible. They over charge you then don't wanna help fix the problem. The owner messed up the order then yelled to shut the fuck up when asking to have the order be made the way it was ordered. Very unhelpful. Not a place that makes you feel welcomed. I've been going there for 11 years now and I will never be back after the experience I had today. I always over saw their rude customer service and hanging up too quickly when ordering take out or delivery because I enjoy the food but the head ache of the order never being right and the nastiness is just not worth it. I went to the pizzaria side and bought 2 slices and a salad to take away. When I got back to my hotel, I emptied the salad onto a plate and it had to be at least half a head of lettuce! This is one of those Pizza/Restaurant establishments. I won't comment on the pizza as we ate in the dining area and ordered from the full menu. In the land of chic and contemporary Italian restaurants comes this sort of familiy oriented no-frills eatery. I can tell you the prices are un-beatlable and the place is lively and smells great!!!! Just moved to New York and am in temp digs nearby, so was curious to see what our options were in terms of pizza. (I love pizza - especially thin crust). So many different kinds of pie to be sure (it reminded me of the options back in Troy, NY at I Love NY Pizza). We started with the Shrimp Oreganata as an appetizer (with bread to sop up the sauce - yum!) and opted for an Old World (and asked for half with sausage). Really good. I watched this place grow from a pizzeria joint (with adjoining dining area) back in 2003 to the full-out restaurant experience of today. Food quality is way up there, as well as cleanliness. Their decor is modern Italian (of course!). I always get a slice of their buffalo chicken pizza and a corner sicilian, but they have a HUGE variety of toppings to please every customer. There's also a complete Italian menu for calzones and pasta dishes. The ambience is upbeat during lunch hours. The lady and staff (owners?) are consistently friendly upon every single visit. My absolute favorite pizzeria! I grew up around the street and have been coming back for over 20 years. This is the only restaurant that has specialty slices with structural integrity! You can actually pick up any of their slices and eat it without a fork and knife. If you try that anywhere else, you'll end up with a plate full of toppings... They have the widest selection of specialty slices on the island, I think I counted 50 different pies once! They range from the ordinary Pepperoni to Calamari, to Hotdog and French Fry with Chipotle sauce. If it wasn't so far from home, I would definitely visit more often. read more

Holy Cow! They have SOOO many types of Pizza, I wish I could live here! The Sicilian slices are insane! Wow!! My mom warned us the portions were huge but I was not prepared. The staff is super adorable and friendly, the seating is spacious and not crammed on top of each other, the Caesar salad was out of the world and I cannot give enough stars for the calamari and penne entree. My dad's veal Parmesan could feed three people and my mom's linguini with red clam sauce was devine. This place is a hidden gem. I play hockey every Thursday night at skate safe around the corner and my cousin and i go here right before they close for dinner each week. Food is always great (fresh not frozen) and the service is good. Even though we come in around 9:30 when they are going to close soon they never have a problem with us sitting down and getting waiter/waitress service. The owner is a nice guy.
