Great place and good customer service. Great local family pizzeria. The owner is an former army solider, and the professionalism shows. I went here a couple of days ago to grab a slice of pizza....and they didnt have the sausage slice I wanted so he asked me to wait....and I did. Took alittle more than 10 mins like he mentioned, but one comment I overheard him say while I was waiting assured me that I was getting what was an expectation of good food. "That isn't the type of pizza I serve." So I waited the extra couple of minutes and on top of it he comped me another soda...which he didn't have to do...and to be honest I didn't expect him to...but was appreciated. I love in Skokie, and decided to try this place due to the closeness to our house and a deal on Restaurants.com. i'm sooo glad we did! It's a small, quaint place that I noticed was booming with a lot of takeout and delivery orders and a very large but thorough for Italian menu. I had a hard time deciding what to order. We tried the cheese bread, house salad, shrimp scampi, and pasta with choice of sauce and side of meatballs. All were fresh, delicious, and definitely worth the wait. The salad was huge and awesome! They weren't stingy with the shrimp as a lot of places are, and the meatballs were huge! The marinara sauce was flavorful and it was a very healthy serving of pasta and my daughter had enough left for 2 more meals. We plan to be back several more times, to try other things on the menu. My husband loves their Spaghetti w/ a side of meatballs and extra sauce. Tonight we ordered from them. The sauce was tomato's in water. I called to let them know how disappointing this was. The owner would not be bothered and told the girl on the phone that when I ask for extra sauce, it is always watery. 90% of the time we order from them, the food is great. I understand that everyone has a bad night. I just wanted to let the owner know that tonight was an off night. Maybe help prevent the next customer from getting the same watered down sauce. Biggest letdown was that the owner was not concerned at all. Small businesses are going out of business all over town. I would think that the owners would want to hear their customers concerns, so they can keep their business going strong. read more

Very friendly business and good food. There's no delivery charge before 3p. The Italian po-boy is huge! I had been coming here since I was a kid and this used to be my all time favorite pizza spot, but not anymore. I usually have my pizza delivered and today I placed an order and was told that they no longer deliver to my area. I live in the Norwood Park, which is not that far. Plus, I always give a good tip. When I asked to speak to the manager or owner I was told they weren't around and that I would get a call back in 10 minutes. 10 minutes came and went and I never received a call back. It's extremely frustrating, especially when they just delivered a pizza a few weeks ago and no one said a word about the delivery area being changed. To my understanding this place is under new ownership and quite frankly the new ownership SUCKS! I won't be returning to dine in with my family there either. read more

I have to say, I've been looking for a favorite pizza place and this is it. I haven't really had anything I didn't like there. What remains outstanding is their meat lasagna. Ok, so I did grow up in edgebrook. I did eat their pizza every Friday night. But, I'm not also 31 years old and have eaten PLENTY of other pizza and can tell you... this is not anything CLOSE to a Jack's thin crust at Jewel. I like the crust... it's a little chewy in the ends and it has that cornmeal grit on the bottom. YUM! Some of the best pizza that I have had in a while. One question, though. Who the hell doesn't accept credit cards in 2013? The pizza would have had 5 stars if they accepted credit cards, but I arrived to pick up my pizza and had to leave to find an ATM. I was pretty pissed until I ate the pizza and it was fantastic. Edit: Raised them to 5 stars because they now accept credit cards. I would honestly say that it's 4.75 stars, which is really good, because unless you order well done, the cheese isn't cooked enough. The pizza here is so amazing! So thin, so tasty, the crust is cheesy, and the whole pizza is on fire. They have so good and right size portions. Their sauce on pizza is so awesome and the toppings as well. You can really tell that everything you can see on the pizza is so fresh, new, and made to order. The dough is so soft and great. Their recipes they used in their pizza is really different from other pizza house around the area. They also have a unique style in terms of preparing the pizza and other dishes they have on the menu. Their servings are creative and so perfect. Their employees are decent, attentive, and very accommodating. They will entertain you with the music while waiting for your orders. They are so great and professional when they talk to all of their customers. They all know how to manage the customers even at busy times. They are so personable and fast workers. The whole place is well-maintained, organized, perfectly aligned, and it has a great ambiance. Interior is so well-decorated and has an awesome design. The whole family is in love with Villa Rosa pizza & pasta! I have had a couple different kinds of pasta from there and they were delicious! But, I ordered a thin crust pizza with Italian beef, green peppers & onions, I don't even know if it's actually on the menu, but they made it... It was so amazing that I had to write a review! I'm extremely picky when it comes to sauces, and the sauce had just the right amount of flavor. The seasoning was perfect! You can just taste that the ingredients were really fresh. The kids & I loved that it wasn't greasy. The crust was super thin, I was amazed that it was humanly possible to get a crust that thin! My husband commented on how he hasn't had a pizza that good in a very long time. My mother-in-law was also impressed. And I have to add, the owners are the nicest people ever! I've never been to Villa Rosa before in my life, and I didn't grow up in Edgebrook. I did get some gift certificates that my partner and I decided to use before we went to the movies up at Village Crossing. We didn't have the pizza, instead I opted for the chicken, spinach and mushroom risotto ($14). I will admit that I've not eaten enough risotto in to really know whether this risotto was good or excellent, but I did enjoy it very much. It was rich and creamy, lots of chicken, mushrooms and spinach. I could only finish about 1/2 of it. The rest I took home for leftovers. The BF had the 1/2 slab of ribs and shrimp combo. Unfortunately, they were out of the jumbo shrimp, so he had the popcorn shrimp instead. Also, quite good and a fair price. They served it with roasted potatoes which were excellent - a great change from french fries! Soup and salad came with both entrees and both were completely satisfying. The service was polite, friendly and attentive. Even though we didn't have the pizaa, the meun (a giant blackboard on the wall) looked really inviting and some of their house specials sounded really good! The offer pan, thin crust and extra thin crust -which is my personal favorite. The place is definitely a throw-back to the olden days of "pizza joints" and probably not a place for a first date, but as a place to stop before going to the movies, I'd recommend it - I'm sure we'll go back again. Ok, so I needed to update this review for two reasons. One, we have tried the pan and oh jesus god, it is SO good. We had the pan pizza, which I normally don't care for, but this crust was amazing! The sauce is of course homemade and the proportion of sauce to cheese to crust is perfection. Second reason for the update is just to thank Carlos and the rest of the team for always providing such great food and customer service. We planned a small dinner for our friends anniversary last night, and then realized neither of us felt like cooking. So after much pondering, we said "call Carlos!" We told him we needed dinner for four and could we do something family style - he made some great suggestions and we decided to get the pasta w/ sausage and meatballs with a salad. What arrived at our house was two enormous pans of food. Everything was absolutely delicious, right down to my favorite garlic bread. I know I can count on this restaurant to take care of us anytime and it is appreciated! Our friends were very impressed, full and happy. I've been here about 6 times in the past 2 years, while I do really enjoy their pizza; I find them a little pricey so I do not come here often. I've only had a handful of items from their menu - I've had their thin crust sausage pizza, fries, bbq wings and caprese salad. All very good items, I especially like the pizza with its crispy crust, flavorful sauce and generous amount of sausage. There is nothing special about their fries and wings, I've had better. It's hard to mess up a caprese salad, so I think caprese salads are great anywhere you go, however; I am a little disappointed that they do not use enough basil, so the salad lacks that basily taste that I love so much. PLEASE add MORE basil! Maybe I just LOVE basil! I put it on everything. Our waitress was not very friendly. She forgot our straws, plates for our pizza and the pizza server. I did not let this put a damper on things because in the past we've had very nice wait staff and I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into the pizza. They have a small bathroom that you have to go through the kitchen to get to. It is a small, clean bathroom stocked with plenty of t.p, two kinds of hand soaps and paper towels...all the necessities. Looking for a good place to grab a pizza on a Good Friday during lent followed by some ice cream. My parents were in town to see their grandson and this turned out to be a great place to take everybody. Maria was our server and she immediately got a high chair for our little guy and was attentive throughout our meal. Pizza had a great crust/sauce and the veggie combo platter was pretty good. Salad was really fresh. My dad had to use the..uh.facilities..and was told it was in the back. He was impressed on his way back that everything was being made from scratch. We are long time thin crust pizza fans and Villa Rosa fills the bill. After spending 10 months down in Florida (pizza starved) we heard about this little storefront and loved it .. Very simple and plain but the food speaks for itself. We have only tried the thin crust with sausage and loved it.BUT...we know pizza and would reccomend this place over 30 or more in the area. Also tried 2 appetizers zucchini and onion rings..great. Did I SayBYOB on the wine and beer. That alone adds so much value to the budget menu. And did I say friendly YES! We order pizza for delivery at least once a week. Difficult to find a home delivered pizza that's not soggy. It took us quite a while, but finally found one that's not soggy and has fresh flavors, Villa Rosa in Edgebrook. I called tonight for delivery and the person who took my call didn't ask for my address. Lots of pizza restaurants now have your address registered in their system according to your phone number so I didn't think anything about it--until an hour had passed with no delivery. I called to follow up and was told it hadn't gone out yet because of no address. Pizza was delivered in 15 minutes personally by the owner who wouldn't accept any payment!
