I'm surprised this place doesn't have more votes yet. I've gone here several times and never been disappointing. It is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Others complained of food poisoning. That has NEVER happened to us. We went last night for the first time in a while. On a Saturday night, the place was packed, but we hardly had to wait to get a table. There was a wonderful piano player there that made the atmosphere all the more enjoyable. We had the Tortelloni Funghi Gratinati and the Cavatelli And Broccoli both were well portioned and flavorful. Very disappointing. Have been here previously many times (before the fire The bread was a hoagie roll. Ordered a carpaccio. Very salty...too many capers. The salad was just lettuce. I ordered chicken Francese......overcooked pasta. Husband ordered a special with shrimp, scallops, sausage on pasta...Pasta was over cooked. Visiting family for holidays in brick. We went to this itialian rest. Very clean and new. Service was very friendly and attentive. Tabitha was our waitress. Menu was extensive but a tad pricey. They have a singer .. right next to two tables..of which we were one So kinda hard to communicate over his signing. I ordered the veal w eggplant came potatoes n onions. One my sides were cold. Two the eggplant tasted burnt and mushy..and veal.portion was lacked flavor. My sis had fish dish over bracolli rabe fish was dry and the rabe was okay. I forget what my dad had but he said it was okay. My sis says this place is hit or miss... but only one that has a bar within distance. Told her have to expand to others. Let me start by saying the food was fantastic! Unfortunately the service left something to be desired. We dined at the bar rather then at a table. We order drinks and my came about 10 min later while the person i was with had there drink with in 1 min. The bartender was uninterested, slightly rude, and left us waiting to order. The tables are so close together that we needed to move to where there was some more space because we were uncomfortably cramped in the space we were seated in. Could not even extend several of the chairs to the point where we could get in normally. When we moved , several of the people at the next table needed to move as well, so we had enough space to walk. Very nice room if they take out several tables Now the food. Calamari and accompanying marinara good but nothing special. Fried zuccini sticks soggy and flavorless. Mussels marinara was very good. Bread, just pedestrian. A restaurant of "this caliber" should serve exceptional italian bread and it should be warm. Veal Piccata was grey pasty looking, like a person that is not well and has not been outside in a long time. The flavor was also lacking. Several of my friends had chicken dishes. The chicken was so thin that it was dried out as soon as it was thrown on the grill to be cooked. A little basalmic drizzle does little to help, except to look like it was prepared by a culinary trained chef. A culinary trained chef would never use pizzaria thin sliced chicken in a dish. Should be thick breasts that are grilled to perfection and sliced vertically. Thoroughly cooked but moist. One of my friends said that the pork chop he had was good. I know my friend, and if it was terrific , he would say that. If it was very good, he would say that. Good is a word that he would use if something is OK but unexceptional. Coffee and Canoli were good. For the prices they charge, the food should be much, much better. If this was a local pizza joint that served this quality of food, I would have given a 3 Star rating. But all together with what the owners want you to believe what this place is ( but is not) 1 Star is my vote. PS, there is a full bar, so if you have a drink and a glass of wine, you can add $20 to the per person tab. read more

Ok so I usually don't write reviews but I just can't let this get by. First the restaurant was packed so I thought that was a great sign. This was our first visit since the restaurant reopened after a long reconstruction. The restaurant was beautifully renovated. However, the food was not as good as I remember. We had a stuffed artichoke which had no garlic and no parmigiana it was just bread crumbs so bland. The salad had a bitter balsamic dressing. Then I got a simple pasta dish and the tomato sauce was awful. It tasted like they opened a can of tutturoso and poured it on. We asked for bread several times and didn't get it until our meals came. The best or worst part was a guy singing along to his karaoke machine. He totally ruined Sinatra for me. The seniors seemed to really enjoy him. It was very loud and he just made it worse. I'm sad because I wanted to like this restaurant since I love Italian. read more

Very good food. Service is always outstanding. Prices are fair for what they serve. (better quality) Only negative: Hostess should retire. She is a nasty shrew with no service skills. We came here yesterday with a group for dinner. We sat in the outdoor section because of the current circumstances. To start, the service was fantastic. Kudos to the owner for having such an exceptional staff. The food was decent for a small spot in Brick, NJ. The bread that they serve is not very good.. I feel that I needed to touch on the bread since most people look forward to it at Italian restaurants (no olive oil, packets of butter, etc..). We had the hot appetizer sample plate which came with a bunch of different things such as eggplant rollatini , shrimp, stuffed clams and stuffed mushrooms. No-one liked the stuffed mushrooms except for me, I actually thought they were good. The other items were not fantastic, but not bad. I got the cavatelli and broccoli with chicken. Overall, decent dish. if you love garlic you will love this plate as there was a ton of garlic. Pasta was cooked perfectly as well. I also tried the chicken parm which was very good. I would definitively order that the next time I come. Everyone else enjoyed there dishes and there weren't any complaints. Recommend for someone craving sit down Italian in the area. read more

Went there on Christmas Eve. They had a special menu. Wait staff were fabulous. Food was delicious but unfortunately very over priced for the less than average sized portions. The steak was cooked perfectly, but it was only similar in size to a small piece of corn-on- the-cob. The side vegetable was one mushroom, one pepper , and 4 small pieces of a roasted potato. Leaving more than half the plate with no food on it. THE chicken Francais was not quite as small but it was still a lunch sized dinner. The fettuccine alfredo was VERY good, but the amount of butter left in the bottom of the finished bowl had to be equal to an entire stick. But I doubt a person concerned about cholesterol would order that in the first place. So it was as rich as expected. I'd get it again one day, that's if I live long enough, As It was delicious. Having not been there yet on a day that was NOT a holiday, I'm hoping that if I go back the pricing and portions will be more in sync. At $150 for three people to have dinner, no alcohol and one appetizer... it's a bit steep. But I do recommend it for those not on a budget. read more

We just moved to Brick & decided to try Villa Vitoria last night. So glad we did! The food was incredible! I decided to try something new(I'm an Alfredo/pasta with cream, peas, pancetta, kind of girl) I had the crepes with spinach & ricotta - so amazing! So disappointed on my last visit in! My family and I always loved villa Victoria prior to the fire! it was always a go to place for us for special occasions or when we had the desire for great Italian food! Recently dining after the fire, now the food is just ok not as good as once before the atmosphere is just completely different modern and fancier with looks to accommodate lavish private events... our service was exceptional but the change in the taste of food really was disappointing! Don't bother trying to book a reservation on the Villa Vittoria website. On Tuesday, I tried to reserve a table for 11 for 5:15 pm dinner on Sunday, with a written explanation that I would call to confirm on Saturday and might add a 12th diner. I called at 11:30 today and was told there was nothing available on Sunday until 6:30 pm, too late for the kids, all under 8. Why couldn't someone check availability and call me? Outdated, and leaves quite a bit to be desired. The menu & decor have been mostly unchanged since the restaurant opened several years ago, which would be okay if the food had held up. Frankly it was better when Villa Vittoria initially opened and the value has dropped. For the price of eating here there are better Italian restaurants in the area. Charging for individual sodas has become an archaic, greedy practice; even some of the finest-end Italian restaurants offer refills although the only place I don't mind it in is a five-star steakhouse if you're expecting to pay a high price per person. Villa Vittoria has become just a bit better than average. Normally I could write passionately about a dish I've had; in this case I can't. Although I did find their steak to be excellent several years ago. Have had much better Italian meals for the same price further North in Jersey. (I.e. I feel my money goes further at Buona Sera in Red Bank.) The main issue here brings us back to the root of this review: the place hasn't kept up with the times. They can still almost pack an older crowd but could use a revamp. Having been going here since they opened, I don't want to see them fail but at the same time I just don't feel like the place is as good as it was. That being said the lunch deal is a good value and I may return for that but I'd want food to improve for me to pay for a full-priced dinner again. read more

We had before dinner drinks and appetizers without being rushed, and the main courses came out hot and were delicious. Everything was spot on. Visiting my parents this past weekend, we came across this restaurant while searching for Italian food in the area. My mother and I both started with escargot, good rather than great. My wife had stuffed mushrooms that had a slightly strange taste, and was sitting in water (or some other unknown fluid). My father had a very mediocre caeser salad. For entrees, again, both my mother and I ordered the veal sorrentino. Mine was smothered in an odd tasting cheese; I removed most of it, making the meal barely edible. My mother felt the same way. My father had a "blackened" chicken special, cooked beyond recognition. Drier than the Sahara desert; he should've sent it back but was just too hungry. On a good note, my wife enjoyed her sea bass; it didn't smell fishy....which was good. Desserts were just average, my chocolate mouse cake lacking any real flavor; the cheesecakes were OK. They have an organ player, who also sings. This should've warned me from the start that this wasn't going to be an "upscale" dinner. He routinely celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, completely annoying and unnecessary. Overnight my mother became violently ill; vomiting, diarrhea, etc... I did have some issues too, but no vomiting.... Conclusion: I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone; you can probably find a "local" pizzeria that can do simple Italian food much better. For the price, it was okay. It seemed really overpriced for nothing special. My sister held my bridal shower here and it seemed cramped and the people were not particularly warm or helpful. They did their jobs, but when they felt my party should have left, two of the workers sort of just hung around and continued to give us dirty looks... It was the middle of the afternoon, too, and not exactly busy at all, so I thought that was a rude thing to do (especially given the amount of money spent on our multiple tables of guests -- about 25). I don't think I would ever return. I have always enjoyed villa vittoria and I could always depend on going there and having a nice meal for a birthday or special occasion. I have always found the service to be exceptional. I have hosted two private parties there. Most recently being my sisters baby shower and they treat you like gold. Let me start this off by saying that if you've ever lived anywhere slightly more metropolitan than Ocean County, you are going to think this place is not worth the time or money. Trust me on this... Save yourself the heartache. Villa Vittoria will surely disappoint. The good: the waitstaff was great. Super sweet and nice. We had a newish waiter who had to leave several times to ask questions but I didn't mind. And the one "good" was my husband's osso buco that was super tender and had decent flavor. The bad: the food was just OK at best and kind of gross at worst. We had escargot and calamari apps. Neither was special. Both were OK. The salads were boring and blase. The dressing was heaped on the salad in the center, drowning the sad little greens and shreds of carrots. The bread was even meh. Yes, I just described what could be delicious bread as meh. The olive oil served with it was even subpar - low quality for sure. Finally, the EXPENSIVE entrees. I went for the rack of lamb (just under $40 - yes, you read that right). It looked great being delivered to a table next door. Mine was cooked unevenly. Some chops were well, others were medium well - despite ordering it "medium." The flavor was OK (just OK) and the sauce needed work for sure. It was pedestrian at best. My mom ordered a simple NY Strip and complained of it being dry and flavorless. The ugly: My entree was served with broccoli rabe that was so bitter and gross that it blew my palate out. It took a while to recuperate. My mom ordered a white russian that was so off she had to request some milk to try to save it. We ordered my daughter a cheese pizza - it was clearly a frozen tiny pizza that was so gross even she wouldn't touch it. Yes, it is a kids meal but at $8, you can deliver something more palatable. I, again, had high hopes to this place as it had been recommended by a couple different people. Sadly, I will not be back. It was not worth it. It was pricey and didn't come through. I couldn't believe it. If you are reading this and you know of any good restaurants in Ocean County, or anywhere close to Toms River, Brick, etc. PLEASE message me. We've gone to Villa Vittoria several times the last few months. The food is always good. The kitchen can be a bit slow at times but does turn out a good product. My husband & I dined there last night very first time. Beautiful restaurant and ambience. First, valet parking. We had 7 PM reservation, & were seated promptly. House wines served in carafes, horrible Cavit Pinot Noir. Bottles were $35 & up. We went to see Gerard Esposito, very entertaining. Great Sinatra & Bennett tunes. Older crowd, even dancing. Italian wait staff were very attentive and never rush us. We started with the stuffed artichoke, very disappointed, bland bread crumbs, no garlic, no spice or taste. Also, we had the hot antipasto for one, very bland: one baked clam, one shrimp, one N.Z. mussel, eggplant rollatini, & stuffed mushroom, all made 2 days ago! Dinner: 3 chewy veal medallions, not tender, saltimbocca style with leather-like prosciutto, & spinach served with old carrots. Very disappointed that Italian food was NOT made to order.
