I have enjoyed coming here since 2016. The new owners have really given the place a beautiful face-lift. Early this year I found that I had become sensitive to gluten and stopped ordering toast with my breakfast. Today I was able to have Gluten-free toast here for the first time and it was delicious! Phoned in my breakfast order on a busy Sunday morning for me to pick up from Sunrise cafe, I got there and the order hadn't been put in, he walked back and forth, looked like the owner was basically scratching his head and said do you want me to retake your order now or not? No apology, nothing. I laughed and walked out. :( the place is filthy dirty inside! I'm glad they forgot! I drove down to Village cafe and although busy they clearly are a well oiled machine! A gentleman took my order, he couldn't have been nicer, he got it all together and brought it outside to me. I got home and ate my quality ingredience ABC omelette (lots of avocado)!! Been to Village Cafe a few times and they never disappoint. The food remains consistently good (not always an easy task for some businesses) so that's a good reason to keep coming. The menu is pretty diverse from Mexican specialties to good old American breakfast. The service is attentive and the ambiance is that of a mom/pop diner. Called in an order for a turkey omelette with potatoes and toast! It was ready as I was walking through the door of this cute building. Everything seemed so vintage as I looked at the decor! The young lady working greeted me with a big smile. I paid for my food and left shortly after. When I got home, the food was still piping hot. The potatoes were really good, could've really taken it to another level if they were seasoned. I sprinkled the green salsa on and called it a day. The turkey omelette had spinach, mushroom, and turkey inside (duh) topped with avocado. This was a great combination, especially with adding the salsa. Everything tasted just right and the omelette was perfectly cooked! I was really impressed by this cafe and will definitely come back here again! Oh, and it was super affordable. I have been coming to Village Cafe for over 10 years. I understand that it has had new owners within the last year or so. I do not plan on coming back. My waitress was nice, I had no problems with her. My main problem was the wait and food. I sat down and waited 5 mins to order( I get it, waitresses get busy). But, my food took 20 mins for me to receive. I only had a sandwich and soup. I had to leave right away since I have a limited time for my lunch break. And all the years that I've come here and worked at the same place I've never had this problem. My food was out within 10 minutes the longest. We had time to sit and chat and eat our food. I haven't had time to actually have my soup yet but I was able to eat part of my sandwich which was extremely dry and hard (toasted) because there was no mayonnaise put on it even though it says mayonnaise in the menu. So I was there for 35 minutes and got to eat half of my half sandwich. it seems that there is a lot of standing around done by some of the staff/owner... I get to this place about once a year while my car is being serviced down the street. It's a little coffee shop with good food and frequented by locals. Homemade jellies are fabulous. They usually have 3 kinds. The menu says they make their salsa too. Not sure about that. It is good regardless. I love their omelettes. Home fries not my favorite (but they are never anyway). Ive has their Mexican food and find it delicious too. This is a smaller place that fills up quickly so if you come on weekend make it early. We came to this place I guess after the new ownership and the food and service was still great. They were busy which is great, which means that the place is doing something right. A busy diner tends to be busy for a reason, I mean people are not going to wait or go back to a bar restaurant. I don't understand why someone would complain about the food taking a little long to serve as long as the food was hot. We got our orders fresh and hot. For those that want fast service I suggest with very little wait times to go to McDonald's or Denny's. I'm sure they will not equal Village Cafe read more

A great place for brunch. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. The cinnamon roll is to die for! My daughter got a breakfast burrito, my husband got the village omelet and both were extraordinary. I got the French toast breakfast and my son got pancakes and they were fantastic too! Although we've been coming here for years and years it seems different now. The vibe was condescending. Walked in and not verbally welcomed and normally someone would say 'sit anywhere' but this time, a tall blonde just stood there and looked at me. Hello??? I decided to sit out front and although the long time older Mexican busboy helper immediately served me coffee, it took a long time to get a server to take my order and they were not even busy. This place is as great as always! Jen and Sue, the new owners, are doing a stellar job at running and brining this little old family cafe into 2022. The waitress staff is amazing and you'll always receive excellent service (ask to sit in Cameron's section). And The chefs are masters and produce some of the best breakfasts I have ever had! Although Kat and Paul (previous owners) are definitely missed, Jen and sue have done a great job at making this restaurant theirs yet still true to its roots. It's still a family neighborhood cafe like when I was a kid, the staff there is still amazing, and the food (duh) is some of the best breakfast you can find in the area. Village is the BEST! I've been coming here since I was 4 and the food and service have always been amazing. I would highly recommend any omelette, the 2+2+2, and their homemade jam on sourdough! They have an outdoor patio to bring your dog and an inside dining area. There is usually a wait on the weekends around breakfast time, but i've never waited longer than 20 minutes, even when they were really busy. They play good music and the servers and bussers are very attentive and won't leave you hanging! read more

This place was close to the hotel we stayed at so we came here for brunch around 10:30am on a Monday. There was street parking but not a whole lot. We were lucky to find a spot pretty close to Village Cafe. The place was pretty busy but a table opened up for us to sit just as we got there. The menu had breakfast food as well as Mexican food (served all day). The waitress was nice and very friendly. I thought about ordering an omelette or pancakes but decided not to at the last second. I ordered the Mushroom Burger ($10) with fries. I also had a medium orange juice which actually came out while we were still deciding what to order. The orange juice tasted fine to me. The food for our table came out quicker than I thought it would. The burger was good and the fries were good as well. I was full afterwards so the portion was just right to me. Everybody else at the table finished their food or close to it so I would say the portion was about right. Good place for brunch! read more

This place is surprisingly good. I was in the area dropping something off and my wife and I happened to find this place. It looks like a small mom and pop diner. I got the country skillet with a side of french toast. It was quite good, better than I expected as well. My wife got the porkchop meal and also really enjoyed it. Woke up hungry and since it was the weekend decided to visit our local Village Cafe. We arrived right after it opened for a quick breakfast before starting a very busy day. My husband and I both chose omelettes with home fries, coffee, juice and a side of french toast. I will be honest and say the last time we were here was on a weekday so I am not sure whether the cooks are different on weekends or what but are food was not up to par. First off the potatoes were semi fried, hard and super greasy. Next were the omelettes. The chili had no flavor and again was greasy as was my wife's omelette. The eggs were tasteless and greasy not counting the excess cheese. Needless to say what we hoped would give us some protein and energize us for the long day instead upset our stomachs and our mood for the day. I had chicken fried steak and the wife ordered chorizo and eggs and both dishes were 5 stars! Chicken fried steak was some of the best I've had. Top notch.
