I visited this place for the first time after the Christmas tree lighting this year - with friends, who were regulars. It is an incredibly inviting little spot - well designed, cozy and nice for sitting both inside or outdoors (near the fire). Pizzas are traditional Italian, which was also a pleasant surprise after Hot Italian closed shop. I tried the margherita, which had big gobs of mozzarella cheese and some sweet tomato sauce with peppers - an individual sized pie that was less than $9. The beer list was extensive and I tried one of the pilsners for $6. All in all, good prices, friendly service and just easy. I really enjoyed this place the 1st time I ate here several months ago, but recently I must've ordered poorly. The 1st time, I enjoyed their margarita pizza. The 2nd time, I made the mistake of ordering a pizza from their menu that was listed as having heirloom tomatoes and a special cheese, for an extra $3. Perhaps heirloom tomatoes are out of season because instead the pizza came out with a couple little cherry tomatoes instead. It was surprisingly soggy as well, with a large puddle of water in the middle of the pizza. The staff said they don't slice this kind of pizza because it would make a big mess to cut it (which it did when I attempted to eat the watery pizza). I also ordered a margerita (the drink) that tasted like bubbly water, and don't recommend. In short, this place is hit or miss. It does have a nice outdoor patio near Central Park though, and is kid friendly. read more

Ate here on my way home. The garlic bread was legit burned. I couldn't taste the garlic it was so dark. They have a large selection of beers on tap which was great. The bruschetta was alright but there wasn't enough tomato toppings on it. Skimpy on the part the that matters. Pizza was good. The caprese salad was almost right but the balsamic was legit balsamic glaze and was overly sweet. All-in-all it was heavily mediocre given the price: 80ish bucks for 2 beers, 3 apps and a pizza. read more

Oh yum! Village Pizza & Pints is the newest addition to Davis' pizza scene. Owned by the same owners as Village Pizza & Grill, I was super hopeful that Village Pizza & Pints would be delicious! I wasn't disappointed. I actually think Village Pizza & Pints is a step up from Village Pizza & Grill, and I'm attributing that wholly to their new wood-fired oven! The pizzas are thin, but has a great chew, and are so savory. I tried their Salmon Pizza, but added Goat cheese. Best lunch decision ever. The smoked salmon was delicious, and goat cheese added another depth of savory flavor. The grilled onions and basil leaves on top added a hint of sweetness. My only complaint is that my pizza was a little wet, but that isn't surprising considering that grilled onions and smoked salmons are both "wetter" toppings! Between the 8-9 of us, we tried the prosciutto, pepperoni, veggie, eggplant, capri and smoked salmon pizzas. No complaints from any of us, and we're already looking forward to our next trip! For those of you who love beer, Pizza & Pints seems to have a large selection of beers on tap! I think I counted over 20, and The Aggie reports that there's going to be 30 or so! Definitely worth a stop for some good artisanal pizzas for lunch or dinner! *edit* I ended up coming again the next day for lunch and got a Meat Veggie Pizza - seriously obsessed with the pizzas here! read more

Delicious new pizza place in Davis and my new favorite "Village" pizza venue! I think the pizza oven here is part of the magic. Great artisanal pizzas! We had an eggplant pizza with olives, a veggie pizza with pepperoni and pasta pomodoro. It all was delicious! Our pizzas came out quickly and they had a great thin crust with just the right amount of chew. They also have gluten free and vegan options available. There is lots of seating inside and out, great outdoor patio, many great beers to choose from! Reasonable prices for a 10" wood fired pizza. The staff were friendly and attentive, service was great! At first, I was asking "Does Davis need another pizza place?", but I have to say now that I am glad that Village has this new venue, it is now my favorite pizza place in town!! This location recently opened up and I finally had the chance to check it out. Going on, it's very well laid out & I love the tables they have, it's spacious & also has great seating outside too! I got the cheese pizza since I've had the cheese slices at the other Village location by Subway/Amtrak station. The pizza tasted amazing & I am glad I decided to come here. When the older girls were done shopping, they also came by for lunch. McKella went the extra mile and brought out a crème brûlée with a candle for my older kiddo's birthday. She helped sing as well. Really good spot to bring a group, since you can order at the counter and sit where you like. The pizzas can probably be finished by one person each, my husband and I each had a whole one. (So maybe a bit pricey) The veggie one was a bit soggy, but his pepperoni wasn't and they both tasted really good. Not New York style, kind of an Americanized take on Italian pizza. I wanted to like this place, but...there's just way too much wrong. Quality: 2 Value: 2 Service: 1 Ambience: 2 Going in reverse order, Ambience first: the first thing that hits us was the intense wood smoke smell. I love wood smoke! However, as we sat there waiting 20 minutes for our single pizza, I could not help but notice some staff and other customers coughing and sniffling. The amount of wood smoke is excessive - to the point it may constitute labor violations due to health risks to their staff. Service: we ordered, they handed us our food 20 minutes later. They were seriously under-staffed and clearly frazzled. Value: The prices are slightly higher than the area. You're better off elsewhere, given the taste of the pizza. Quality: It was just meh! We got the smoked salmon pizza, which was a mistake. Realistically, salmon on pizza should be a lox-like arrangement, with a creamy / white sauce. Instead, it was a margarita pizza with salmon on top. The sauce and the bread quality were mediocre. The cheese was good quality. It tasted exactly like you imagine. read more

good food mostly, but they have concerning practices around pricing, the meal deal is advertised as starting at 8.95 with a possible up charge for certain pizzas (which is fine), however that was not conveyed to us at all while ordering or after. we were charged 10.95 for our two meals and we didn't even get any special pizza that could've been an up charge. read more

Went to Pizza & Pints for the first time today. The location is a nice corner lot directly across the street from the park (aka a Farmers Market on weekends.). The have a nice patio area for outdoor dining. Costumer service was good! Friendly staff. The choice of beer is vast and they have good cider. Ordered a Quattro Carni and my only complaint is the sauce was a little runny, so much so that the toppings were sliding off. I also will order one to myself next time it wasn't enough to share. I have been searching for a good place for pasta in Davis since Cafe' Italia closed a few years back. Paesonos is okay but very pricey and the food isn't my favorite. I'm so happy I found this place! Fettuccine Alfredo is my favorite and they make it super good here. My mom is also a huge fan of their super fresh tasting Margarita Pizza. So glad we found Pizza and Pints! Thank you to the amazing chefs and staff. It's been satisfying my pasta fix since quarantine. I use DoorDash to order when they are open. It's not always available when I want to order so if it's closed when you try, I encourage you to try again at another time because this place is worth it. read more

Took the family here for dinner last night. We weren't too hungry so we shared calamari, a Margherita pizza, chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a chicken fettuccine Alfredo with pesto. Calamari was ok, seemed more store bought vs freshly made (where were the tentacles my kids kept asking...). However, the pastas were delicious, as was the pizza. Customer service was m'eh. I ended up busing the table after the previous party left, as well as having to go in and ask for Parmesan, peppers, etc versus them coming out and asking us if we needed anything. If I'm out eating dinner, I should be able to sit back and enjoy myself, not have to run around and do someone's job. Lost a star for that one and a partial star for the appetizer but these ratings are whole numbers and so I'm having to round up. read more

My family and I have visited 3 times and each time was a very nice experience. They have a good menu with options for everyone in my family. Ordering was easy and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Service was prompt. The outdoor seating is a great location and a fun spot to sit. My kids especially love it. I watched for months as this was built and kept waiting to find out what it was going to be. When I found out it was an off shoot of Village Pizza I was PUMPED and couldn't wait to try it. My fiancé's favorite food is pizza so the first chance we had, we came here. He went for his typical pepperoni and I was super excited to try the prosciutto pizza. It came with prosciutto, potato medallions, caramelized onion, and arugula. IT. WAS. A. DREAM. I might asked for it to be well-done next time for a bit more of a crunchy crust, but even as was, it was amazing. Later we went back for the calamari because it looked delicious when we were there the first time. Turns out, it was delicious. It was different than other calamari, I've had but it was still so so good. I love that they have so many beer options, even though I'm not a beer drinker. I also love that they have gotten on the bandwagon and serve White Claws. This is a great addition to the Davis Pizza scene, and it's in a super fun location. Parking is sort of wonky, but it's wonky everywhere in Davis. Definitely recommend! read more

I've eaten here twice. The first time was about a month ago -- I ordered the smoked salmon pizza and garlic bread and it was delicious! The second time, I ordered the Frutti di Mare to go which was also really tasty. The only reason I'm giving such a low rating is that I found two small pieces of hair in my pasta when I was almost finished eating it and I get really grossed out when I find hair in my food. So that was really disappointing and I'm not sure if I'll eat here again. read more

What can I say... Pizza cane out before appetizers. Nothing complicated just two orders of wings and fries. Fries came out after pizza came but still no wings; we were already two slices in. When the wings the pizza was done. Pizza tasted good but was very messy. Too much sauce and I hate to say it too much cheese for the softness of the crust. It just created a limpy messy slice of pizza. Like I said it at lasted tasted good. Wings came out too hot to eat,but the hot wings were oven hot with your basic not too hot Frank's Hot sauce or something similar. The pizza crust was PERFECT - light and chewy and the toppings did not disappoint, loved the goat cheese. Decor was clean and modern. Indoor and outdoor seating. Beer was tasty and perfectly cold. I love this place! Their Margherita pizza is bomb! I've had pizza in Rome and this is so similar. It's light, crispy, and doesn't give you the heavy greasy pizza feeling. Their veggie pizza is good too, but honestly nothing beats their Margherita. I've been here a few times, and my friend tried their Shrimp Curry Pasta as well and it was surprisingly good! Flavorful, with the right amount of spice. Everybody that works here is also so friendly, and they even accommodated my silly request for a heart shaped pizza for Valentine's Day. Definitely gonna be coming here as much as I can before I graduate this spring. read more

Nice new spot in town. Had dinner with a group of 5. Sat outside it's nice right now with college outbid season. Downtown is nice but the outdoor seating can get loud sound reflects around the patio quite easily. But nice chairs and tables. The ordering is fast casual order at the counter grab a number and the food is delivered to your table. Ordered bunch of appetizers. Fries ok but overpriced for the portion 4.50 for a small bowl wouldn't order again , calamari was very good would order again , chicken wings with mild sauce the Sauce was horrible was basically barbecue sauce from a bottle pass on the wings bruschetta with prosciutto good. Pizzas all good pasta good and carder salad was good. Nice selection of beer had a Guinness and poured just right. Visiting Davis for a soccer showcase and was looking for a place to feed 13 high school seniors. This place was perfect. Ordering is at the counter making it easy for individual ordering. Big tables for the team to sit together too. Pizzas and the pasta was very good. Best spaghetti and meatballs my husband has had in a long time. Great selection of beers, hence the name. This place is great. I ordered the eggplant goat cheese pizza and a pint of the CA Hello sour, they were both delicious and paired nicely. The pizzas are a little larger than what most places would call personal, so it will satisfy as a meal for one and is also perfect for sharing as a snack while you enjoy drinks with friends. The food items are in the $10-12 range, which I think is appropriate for the quality. The location is perfect, right where downtown meets UC Davis, just across the street from Central Park, there's a steady stream of all kinds of Davisited; sudents, families, longtime locals and out-of-town visitors. There's also plenty of patio seating to enjoy the surroundings. Village Pizza & Pints is definitely one of my new favorite local spots. read more

This restaurant is appropriately named. The have a decent selection of 10 inch pizzas and beers to choose from. There's an appetizer menu and pasta list too! There's plenty of seating inside and out. The staff are really friendly and quick. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 pizzas which was just enough food to share. The price is reasonable $9-11 for a single pie. The pizza itself was tasty but not mind blowing. The crust is thin but still has integrity - it's not gonna flop on you. Generous amount of sauce and just small patches of mozz. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The one downside is that they don't sell pizza by the slice. Nonetheless, Pizza & Pints is probably my new go-to spot for it's affordability and quality! Update: The owner reached out following this review to let me know that they offer lunch specials and half pizzas during lunch hours!
