All were fantastic --the pizzas were loaded with cheese and absolutely delicious. I had the house salad. I wish the lettuce was shredded or cut in smaller pieces. It was clean and fresh so that was a plus. The eggplant /onion pizza was delicious. The pizza dough was perfectly cooked and they followed my husband's directions not to cut it, due to me having a meat allergy. The eggplant was thin and crispy. We have been ordering food delivered from village pizza in Windsor locks for about four years. The pizza is good. Delivery is horrible. Waited two hours for a simple pizza and a sandwich. Never arrived. Called them they put me on hold for an extended period of time. Got disconnected twice. Finally asked for manager. Manager says my food was delivered over an hour and half ago. Not true, then he says pizza delivery person put the food on my front steps. It's 23 degrees out. Who would do this? They always knock at the front door or ring my doorbell. Finally spoke to the manager Nick, he claims it was delivered, I said no way and who would put a hot pizza delivered on the front concrete steps and leave. Someone is not telling the truth. He finally agreed to send out another order. It arrives in 20 minutes. Asked the driver if he was here earlier or if there was another driver he says he didn't know. I had included a tip of $10 on a $28 bill. When the pizza finally comes the receipt shows no $10 tip so the second driver who was nice and we've had him here before got screwed. I had been ordering here through the Slice app throughout covid. I do not think there has been an order delivered that was correct. Sometimes there are reasons for delivery not just convenience. So reluctantly, (we joked before we sent the order) we ordered tonight and when it came it was all wrong. Normally we have a receipt to compare, but we did not even get that. When I called and picked up the missing parts of our order, the response was "just order by phone and pick it up". If I wanted to pick up my order I would have done it at my normal pizza spot in town, not here. I probably will order from here again, but they need to understand that there are benefits on the ordering app like discounts and specials. If A-OK means a nice average place, Village Pizza is A-OK. It's on Route 75 by the airport next to Izumi Sushi. But as gaudy looking as Izumi is, Village is unassuming. Kind of spartan, actually - with a few plain looking tables and chairs and counter seats. I had lunch today, and Village wasn't too crowded. They have a very large menu 21 pizza varieties, calzones, appetizers, grinders, wraps, sandwiches, club sandwiches, pitas, wings, omelettes, salads, fried entrees, Italian entrees, and desserts, It's really a mini diner. My half sized Italian grinder ($6.95) was perfect -piping hot all the way through, with a nice balance of meat to lettuce to tomato to onion ratio. And the bread was perfectly toasted too. Staying at the Doubletree across the street, I had several choices. However, the reviews, menu, and prices encouraged me to try Village Pizza. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar online and walked across the street to pick up my order. Village Pizza's location could be reasonably described as a "hole in the wall". However, in the world of Hole in the Wall's, Village Pizza deserves 5 Stars. During my short wait for my order, the phone was ringing off the hook and the online orders were pouring in. Clearly this restaurant had something special. I received my take away order (pictures attached). The Chicken Caesar Wrap was tremendous. The chicken was well seasoned and substantial. The fries were fresh and plentiful. Everything was freshly prepared from scratch, and believe me, I can tell the difference. My Chicken Caesar Wrap Dinner from Village Pizza is now the standard by which all Chicken Caesar Wraps will be judged. Not only that, Village Pizza's prices are very fair and reasonable. read more

I placed an order to be delivered; delivery was prompt & for the most part the food was good. I wasn't able to eat until quite late, & by that time the restaurant was closed so I was unable to let them know about the problem with my order. I was out of town the following day so I wasn't able to call them until the following day. I asked to speak to the manager & a woman came on the line. I asked if she was the Mgr & she told me she was. I explained to her that I had been over charged by at least $1 on every item & $1.50 on the salad I ordered. I told her how much they owed me for a refund. I also explained that I had ordered a LG chef salad but, I received a feta salad. The salad had ingredients in it that I am unable to eat so I had to through it out. She told me they could not give me a refund for the over charge & told me their prices had just increased. I then, explained that I ordered from them because I had gotten their flyer in the mail that day! We disagreed for a few minutes & then a man came on the line. He was more interested in chewing me out for not calling the night I ordered. I explained I didn't eat till very late & by then they were closed & that I was out of town till after after they closed. Again, he just wanted to chew me out. I guess they don't subscribe to the adage "the customer's always right"! I kept telling him I wanted my salad & he kept telling me he could refund me the price of the salad. He was FINALLY QUIET enough to actually hear me. I've done customer service for over 50 yrs & I'm not the kind of person who makes a fuss over a mistake; just make it right & it's all over. I will say the potato skins & honey BBQ chicken wings were very good, it's their customer service (or should I say the lack there of!) I had a problem with!!! Kind of a hole-in-the-wall kinda place with not much in the way of ambiance but you can't eat ambiance. I went in because it was close to the hotel and not a chain, and ordered the "cold cut combo" sandwich that probably would have been called Italian at one of the national chains. I asked for no lettuce or tomato but with extra mayonnaise and got just exactly that. 4 stars because I've had better but for sure, I've had a lot worse for more money. Overall, happy with the food and the service was pretty snappy and friendly as well. Good enough I'd have liked to have tried the pizza but just a quick trip into Hartford and right back out so no time. Better than the reviews, the pizza ranks 3 stars. The crust is airy and crispy, they were accommodating and making it thinner which I appreciated. Not only did it take over an hour and a half (no big deal)... My daughter took one bite of their pizza and said no thanks daddy. She then had Totinos pizza rolls. My wife took one bite and politely declined. I opted for wings, and while there wasn't really much sauce they were still flavorful in an unsettling way. I'm a Chicago pizza lover. I was near the Hartford Bradley airport at a hotel, pretty much in the middle of nowhere, when I stumbled upon one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza. I was a bit doubtful when I saw it was made with ricotta, but I thought I'd give it a try. Wow! What a deelish pizza pie! The crust was so good, soft and flaky yet crispy and the ricotta absolutely worked with this pie and sent it to a whole different stratosphere. I am a firm believe that if a Pizza is good then a plain cheese can be amazing. Toppings just add to the experience. I ordered 2 pizzas and a coldcut combo grinder 1 plain cheese 1 meat lovers. The cheese was decent. The sauce and dough on the pizza were very bland. So From the plain cheese point of view 2 of the 3 parts were extremely lack luster. Then the toppings just didnt seem to be that great either. I also ordered extra cheese and like most pizza places I just got what I would consider normal amount of cheese. Gotta love paying extra and not getting what you paid for. The grinder was surprisingly good however and the roll it was on was good which makes me wonder if it was privded by a 3rd party? The pizza is ok and delivery is nice. But be aware that your order will probably be messed up in some way. You order boneless wings, you get bone in. You order an appetizer with your pizza, the delivery guy doesn't have it. One time, the delivery guy asked me for payment when I had paid online already. When I brought it up to him, he immediately backed down - which makes me think he was fishing for extra money. Other delivery guys do not speak english or do not understand it all that well, so if there is an issue with the order, they can't help. So you call up the place and they say you get a credit to your account...except it never comes off on the next order. Only reason why I keep ordering from here is because they deliver and the pizza is ok. But everything else they are probably going to mess up. read more

It's a pizza place. They make pizzas. They taste pretty OK. Delivery is a mixed bag though: Sometimes they deliver them on time, sometimes they deliver them very, very late. There's no way to know how it's going to go until delivery time shows up (and possibly passes). I order from them sometimes if I know I'm going to be hungry in a couple of hours and don't care when it shows up, but for a party or something this place probably isn't the best option unless you want to end up with a house full of angry hungry people. read more
