Very good Thai restaurant for Medford/Southern Oregon. Better than most, and better than many that are more expensive. Clean, good service, food is very good, waitstaff is friendly, large portions, lots of variety, and they will make it actually spicy if you like spicy (so if you ask for spicy don't be surprised that it might be hot!). Was in town and looked to Yelp per usual for sound advice on local Thai. This place did not disappoint. I called to place an order for takeout and was told it would be ten minutes. Perfect! Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and it was scrumptious! Big servings and tasted fresh with plenty of chicken. Asked for chili sauce to spice it up and it was even better. While I was optimistic about this place based on the locals opinions of it, I was very disappointed. All items are to go for now due to current events. When we called in our order, we had about 10 meals. We were told 45 minutes so I expected about an hour being a Saturday night. We went to pick up our food and sat in the parking lot for almost another HOUR waiting for our food. So two hours to get our food and my excitement dwindled quickly. One thing I will say, if you do get food here, one meal will feed 2-3 people. We had multiple orders of pad Thai, sweet and sour chicken and Tom kah kai soup. The pad Thai was awful. It tasted so bland and was mixed with smoky spices with no sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was literally the bread that you'd put chicken in without the chicken mixed with pineapple and red bell peppers. They even messed up one of the orders that we made so one person was unable to eat. I would not recommend or suggest going there when there are so many other places that could meet that Thai food fix. read more

Tried this eatery again hoping the last time was just an off day for them. It wasn't!! The service is horrible even with just a few customers there. The food is bland and wasn't served hot - noodles lukewarm at best. I will move on to other Thai restaurants here in the valley that are delicious. read more

Just ordered delivery and have to say, was better than expected. Red curry with pork. Rad Na Noodles with chicken. Chili chicken with basil. All were very flavorful and the portions were generous. Also came with steamed white rice which was unexpected as other Thai places charge you separately for rice. Will order from here again. read more

I realize tipping is important, but it was my sister-in-law's birthday, and when we paid and received the change, the waitress remarked that the tip wasn't enough. She basically announced it to the entire restaurant. Then she proceeded to tell the other customers what had transpired. I just don't think it was proper or professional for the waitress to do that. I think it could have been handled differently. Yummy food, but horrible service. She told the other customers that we were astonished, but we weren't; we were disappointed that she would embarrass someone like that. Vim Thai Restaurant is a hidden gem in Medford -- if it's nighttime, it's so hidden that you might not even see it. The signs aren't lit up, and the only way you'll know it's there is if you happen to catch the "Open" sign in the window. But, once you're inside, delights await. Try to the fried wontons and chicken satay as appetizers. Skip the seafood salad, which is a little too cold and spicy. For dinner, the curries are where it's at. The atmosphere is okay, but could be a little better. The decor is fun, but you'll feel like you're a little too close to your table neighbors and can hear the ins and outs of their conversations. But the food makes it all worth it. You won't find better Thai food in Southern Oregon. read more

Best Thai food we've had in a while. My wife loved the tom ka kai soup. I think Ali's is better but it was very good. The spicy fried rice was very good. And the green curry was pretty good. We love Thai food. We saw this restaurant and wanted to try it to add to our Thai restaurants we could go to. We ordered out last night and we're terribly disappointed. First they don't include rice with Curry dishes, it's a $2 up charge. There's a $2 up charge on drinks also for take out. Our order was $80, 4 people, 5 dishes and 2 drinks. Now if the food had been good we might have let it go. But it wasn't. We will not be going back and I suggest you try another Thai restaurant in the Medford area. read more
