Okay. I want to go on record and say that this is my favorite restaurant in the entire metro area. Tonight was my second trip and it is genuinely a pleasurable experience. Both visits were in late November but we were able to sit outside under an awning of twinkle lights, warmed by the large outdoor heaters. The cheese plate and flat bread is a must. Tonight's flat bread was an arugula and smoked duck ensemble. We also ordered the cheese fritters and split the mushroom ravioli. Everything tasted perfect, the food is so rich and aesthetically gorgeous. This restaurant is such a treat. It's a little pricey, but completely worth it. Service is always wonderful and atmosphere is so warm, cozy, and inviting. It's a gem right in the heart of Roswell. I'd be here a lot more often if I lived closer. But it's also well worth a drive. I love that all the ingredients are quality and the menu choice is fairly small so it's not overwhelming to make a choice. The food was so good my lovely boyfriend literally had the sever bring him a plate of Crostini to sop up the sauce left over from the pasta dish. We were visiting family in Atlanta and we were in dire need of some fine wine. We found Vin 25 quote by accident but boy are we glad we did. First our bar tender Tyler was awesome! Gave us great advice regarding some wine and tramways is like old friends. The local crowd was beyond awesome very friendly and welcoming. We truly felt at home in this very fine quaint wine bar. Now for the selections of wines- Excellent and the food well all I can say is WOW! I confess that we only had the charcuterie board but what a treat to the palate. Excellent, Excellent and Excellent. Roswell's newest and maybe best! I went here with some friends last night to celebrate a Birthday, and do not think we could have picked a better place. Vin25 has a cozy intimate feel, and the service, the food and drinks were outstanding. We ordered several apps and entrees, and each one was better than the last. We topped the night off with a dessert tray that was to die for. The chocolate - peanut butter cup was one of the best desserts I have ever had. The waitstaff was attentive and accommodating, and the owner came by several times to make sure things were going well (they were.) I just think that in addition to phenomenal food, the place has great energy. It's not cheap, by any means, but its reasonable for what you get, & worth every cent in my opinion. I tend to be descriptive in my experiences with restaurants, and I want to start off saying thank you for reading everything I write to people out there. I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant, and when I give a 5 star, it is indicating that it is probably the best of its kind around Atlanta in my opinion. I give this restaurant a 5 star review. The ambiance is great and the interior design is intimate. There inside and outside sitting, and the Friday evening I went, there was a live music outside with bass, guitar, and etc. The drink list is phenomenal, and some cocktails change depending on the season. Furthermore, service and attention to detail are very good. Great personalities all around the staff level and the Chef Scheu came to talk to us as well about his food and such. We had 3 appetizer/snacks, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. Appetizer: Pork & Kimchi Spring Rolls/Egg Rolls: The Chef used REAL KIMCHI. Other restaurants around the Atlanta area try to incorporate Korean cuisine into their food, and a lot at times, they like to use Kimchi. The chefs always miss the prime essence of kimchi and present it to customers. Basically, chefs call it kimchi when they slab some veggie together with acidity. Last time I checked, that's not what I got from Korean restaurants or from grocery stores. What amazed me about Chef Scheu is that he actually understands the prime essence of Kimchi, not just the acidity, but the true ingredients, the process, and the time it goes into making them. On top of that, he used Kimchi with pork. In a Korean cuisine, pork a lot at times, goes together with Kimchi historically and due to taste combination reasons. It's been passed down generations after generations where pork and kimchi went hand to hand together in a dish. Chef Scheu nailed it with this historical combination and the kimchi itself. He brought out the kimchi he made and used, and I told him directly, this kimchi is better than what you get at Korean restaurants. What I appreciated a lot of Chef Scheu was that he truly understands the history and flavor of another country's staple food. Cured meat assortment: I tried individual meat by itself and they were great. The pickled veggie went very well with the selection of meat plus the mustard. The mustard had a tangy but slight sweetness to eat or enhanced by or from the pickled veggies. Overall, it is a great selection to pair with your alcoholic beverages. Veggie Flatbread: Veggie assortment on a thin baked flatbread which almost had the consistency of a matzo bread glazed with balsamic vinegar. It is a very light dish which goes well with alcohol/wine. The carb portion of the meal was not overwhelming because a lot of restaurants try to overwhelm the food with thick carb with flatbreads. The thin crisp carb to this portion of the dish was smart. I thought to myself that I can drink more because my stomach is not filled with so much carbs that will expand in my stomach with liquid. Entrée: Steak and Scallops. The steak dish had a bed of "hash browns" with avocado on top with some veggies. That's the simplest way to describe this steak dish. It's a perfect portion dish where you don't have an enormous dish or a tiny petite dish. The meat was cooked perfectly and the fresh avocado paired well with the rest. Also the carb on the dish did not overpower the steak either because many restaurants will give you a steak and overwhelm it with other carbs or veggies. This dish was presented very well with good proportion overall. Scallop... light dish and great mixture of diced mango, radish, and etc. It almost had a spring salsa feel to the dish. Ok... so scallops in general... WOW. I love scallops and I have had many scallops in many restaurants. These scallops were perfectly cooked, like amazingly cooked. It didn't have the rubbery texture. It was crisp on the outside and very soft in the inside where it was buttery and smooth. I must say that these scallops were the best cooked scallops I have had. I have had many scallops, like a lot. The acidity and pairing of the bed of diced sides with scallops were a great touch. Overall, both the steak and scallop dishes were phenomenal. Dessert: I was so full by this stage that I just took one bite each of the dessert sampler on the menu. It was sooooo much on there and I could consider that another meal. The dessert sampler had the fried banana donut, plantain/banana, flourless or gluten free chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, etc. There were about 5 or 6 things on there. They were all great. I am not big on desserts, and because of that reason, I tend to criticize desserts more than any other part of a meal. If I had a second stomach, I would have eaten everything on there. Overall, phenomenal experience at this restaurant and I recommend the restaurant to everyone. It's a great date night place or if you want to relax with your friends, it's great for that as well. read more

I visited the other night and sat at the bar with Mac. I have been in the service industry my entire life, so I'm not that easy to impress. I was impressed. Mac knew the menu and the wines. Exceptional service and knowledge. And the CHEESE. They have a special cheese. I'm coming back very soon for it and to have some more delicious food and warm service. This is my new favorite place. Was really hoping would like this place as a change of pace from the getting too crowded scene down the road, but overall just didn't hit on too many cylinders. Went on a Friday night, probably somewhere around 730-8, w/o reservations, inside/outside both looked like a good crowd, and was happy to see the bar wasn't too crowded so took a seat there as we enjoy doing at many restaurants. would have been a better first impression if we were greeted with a 'have you been here before?', etc., but not a big deal. bartender was great w/ letting me sample all the varieties of draft beer on tap, and I chose the fu man brew, a nice Belgian style wit beer that had a hint of ginger to it, refreshing for a warm night when the air conditioning did not seem to be working too great inside. my wife got a glass of red, I don't remember what but she liked it. so far ok minus the weak A.C. system. decided to order the flatbread of the night, not sure if this changes daily/weekly etc, didn't get an explanation...this one was poached pear, arugala, tomatoes, a pesto sauce, and some olive oil, perhaps I missed one or two ingredients, but that sounds about right...when it was delivered we came to learn they ran out of poached pears, so ours was sans poached pear. we still ate it but would have been nice to know that prior to serving it -- how about a simple, "hey we ran out of the pear, would you still like it?" my wife really liked it, I thought it was alright. we both though it was a tad overpriced at $12 especially w/o the main ingredient. we weren't super hungry, so opted for another app, and went w/ a fried risotto ball. I thought the flavor was a bit bland, so good thing they had some nice spicy dipping sauce that came with it. after two so-so's, and not a huge appetite to begin with, we decided to ring the bell for round 16 and call in the peanut butter cup dessert. if I did come back here, it would likely be just for this, as it was very good, i'll give credit where credit is due. perhaps a better experience if we got a run down of a nightly special or something like that...at one point we saw a dish fly by us (twice) and asked what it was to find out it was a nightly special they had going...we missed the memo. was surprised b/c the bartender was very attentive and friendly otherwise. would have been nice to see them take off a few bucks or toss in the dessert on the house for hosing us on the poached pear flatbread sans poached pear. 2 apps, 2 beers, 2 glasses of red, and a peanut butter cup for 77 including tip, hopefully they can use some of this to get the AC cranked up. read more

My friend choose Vin25 for dinner because it one of her personal favorite restaurants. The tiny restaurant is tucked off Canton Street on a small alley and features its own parking lot which is fabulous plus for Roswell. There is a cozy fire pit and plenty of outdoor seating for a nice February evening. The menus are local, seasonal, fresh, and designed with your beverage choice of wine, craft beer, or craft cocktails. The Roswell Mule started out perfectly with House pimento cheese fritters with sweet and sour chili jam. The La Posta 'Pizella' Malbec was wonderful with the beautiful artisan cheese and smoked meat charcuterie which was perfect to share with a group. The Loire Valley Domaine De La Fruitiére Musadet was perfectly paired with the Catch of the Day sea bass. The salad and dessert choices looked amazing also. The service was prompt, accommodating, and friendly. The preparation and the presentation of our food was spot-on. Vin25 only take reservations on Friday and Saturday for parties of 6-8 people at 6pm and 8:30pm. In Europe, I am more accustomed to and appreciate having the opportunity to share a meal with friends and not feel rushed because the restaurant has to turn a table. Went with a friend to check this place during the week. It was not very crowded, but it was early in the week. I honestly thought this was more of a wine bar that did food, so was surprised to find a full (albeit, small) menu. First off, was a little disappointed in the wines by the glass list - thought it would be a little more extensive. Our waiter was great to let me taste a couple of different wines before making a selection. You must have the bacon arancini (fried risotto balls) - they were amazing. The cheese plate was good, but not great. We elected to skip salads and go on to the entree. The entree list was a little small, and on the pricey side ($20+). Maybe it is because I was expecting to go to a wine bar and have some great little plates like the arancini, not a $23 risotto with scallops. The entree was solid - not fantastic, but solid. Nice scallops, but the risotto was not as flavorful as the risotto in the appetizer. Portion was on the smaller side - it was fine for me, but men might go away hungry. Now dessert - ALL of it looked good but we settled on the chocolate peanut butter cup....my goodness that was fantastic! Loved the patio outside, nice atmosphere inside. The wine room looked like a great spot to do a private wine tasting, but was really small. Overall I thought this place was good, but maybe needs to tweak the menu a bit. read more

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants with serene outdoor dining under the trees with jazz playing on weekends. The food is usually superb and I have never had any complaints until this evening. The grouper was undercooked and raw and had to be returned. Instead of throwing out the seafood the chef put it back into the oven and we got it back a bit over cooked, along with the risotto. You would think a high quality restaurant would have provided a fresh cooked grouper or at the least discounted the price of the seafood from the total receipt. The service was very friendly and apologetic and appeared to care about their relationship with the customer. They have tarnished their image a tad, I would ask that they review their policy on the returning of uncooked seafood to a table. read more

Wow. Vin25 was awesome. Can't believe I haven't been here! Gorgeous night in Roswell, doors are open letting is a nice breeze, live music on the patio. We had to wait for our table despite a reservation at 8:30 so didn't get seated until after 9. But oh was it worth it! Amazing food. Huge appetizers. The special flatbread with arugula & swordfish was unbelievable. I could have eaten that all night. The dessert sampler was also memorable, especially the Butter Rum ice cream with spiced donut. Only downside was how loud it was in the restaurant. Could only hear my end of the table. Can't wait to come back! read more

I've been back a few more times since writing this review - still top notch! I've sat inside, I've sat outside, and the food and service have always been wonderful! We always seem to get Drew as our server, and I enjoy him a lot. Very friendly, competent, and knowledgable. Had the pumpkin bacon doughnuts as a dessert last visit....amazing, and one of those "we're known for this" type of dishes. Never a bad meal, and surely never a bad glass of wine! I was in town to visit my bestie as she recently moved there with her fam. We were looking for places to have a drink on a Wednesday night and found this cute spot. There was a good size crowd there when we went in. The place gave a cozy cabin feel. We went straight to the bar to sit but a good few minutes until we were actually greeted. Overall, bartenders (who we think were the owners) were nice. Looking at the menu, the food and cocktail choices seemed reallly good. However, since we were still full from dinner, I just went with a glass of reisling (which was very good) and my friend went with her whiskey of choice. Can't say enough good about this place. Went there last night with so friends and every aspect of this place is great. The restaurant itself is very nice, well set up from the patio to the inside. Very nice selection of wines for everyone. Excellent wait staff, friendly owner, and most important the food was top notch. My friend and I decided to try a little of everything, started with the cheesy bacony rice balls (mmmmmm, bacon) and the meat and cheese plate, then tried the filet chops, and then pork chops and flat iron steak, finally we finished with the best panna cotta ever, donut holes, and gingerbread (also with bacon). Then moved to a table. Downhill from there. Ordered cured salmon. Told the waiter and hostess that it was horrible. They laughed. No accommodations were made. Oh well. Vin 52 continues to impress. It is so nice that this place is tucked away down a side street rather than on the main drag. Even on a Saturday night , wait times were reasonable - time enough to finish one drink - and the wait staff was on the spot. Very good duo playing jazz and blues. Menu is not huge but well executed. Love Vin 25, my favorite date night place with the hubby. It has a romantic feel to it, great wines, no pressure to hurry and the food is great. We had the flat bread pizza this time which was so good, I could have eaten one on my own, but alas, I was partly full of the yummy arugula salad with mushrooms. I tend to love reds from California, coming from the west coast and having enjoyed several when traveling around the Napa/Sonoma wineries. Never a shortage of great wines to select at Vin 25. Overall, I enjoyed the meal I had at Vin 25, but I have a couple quibbles that prevented me from having a five-star dining experience. First, the owner must figure out a way to cool the main dining area more effectively. To say it was sultry at our table last night is a massive understatement; in fact, I had to step outside into the warm August night on multiple occasions in order to cool off. When it's warmer than 80 degrees in your dining room, dinner becomes a race to see how quickly diners can finish--especially when most folks are dressed up. Invest in central A/C or at least install some ceiling fans. Do something to get the air moving in there. Next, the restaurant is loud, so the waitstaff really needs to compensate for that by leaning in and speaking loudly. Our server (whose name escapes me at the moment) did a fine job attending to the table, but I couldn't hear the specials or the wine descriptions as he said them to one half of the table and didn't say them at a reasonably high volume. Heat and noise aside, Vin 25 delivers delicious food. We had the pimento cheese fritters and charcuterie board to start, and both were excellent. With charcuterie having a moment, a restaurant has to go above and beyond to make theirs stand out. Vin 25 does just that by providing jams, comb honey, and olives to accompany the typical smoked and salted meats and cheeses. I would have liked a little more variety in the meats, and I thought the board could've used a blue cheese, but it was otherwise spot-on. The fritters were delicately fried, giving the perfect amount of crunch and crispness to offset the cheese inside. I skipped the small plates and went straight for the ribeye filet, which was cooked a touch over the medium-rare I ordered and accompanied by a delicious avocado chimichurri and light tomato salad and served on a bed of potato latkes. The large plate menu is fairly limited; while all of the entrees look tasty, they could stand to add just one more--either a vegetarian option or something a little more mainstream like a burger. So, go here. The food is great. That said, Vin 25 is a restaurant that wants to diners to enjoy everything they have to offer (all of which was great, as far as I'm concerned), but they must get the climate-control under control before I'll be back in the summertime. read more

Tonight... our 3rd time with Brian and Troy involved in our service. Last time we had a loud group and were given amazing service, ended closing out at the fire pit after most people from our group left and had a really enjoyable conversation with some of the staff. This time the power went out due to storms and we were given even better service that will have me remembering names for each visit to come. First 2/5 times ended with us in the wine room with my parents and/or Aunt to have the best desert I've had (period). Here are my tips: the desert sampler is amazing (although my wife's birthday ice cream sandwich was awesome considering no electricity) - to the point they make their own peanut butter for a peanut butter cup. The flat breads are very different but very good, kind've like matza flatbreat. The scallop starter is incredible. The dinners are very good - the chef came out to discuss options for a special order for a group of our friends. What I really enjoy is the fact that each time I go to Vin 25, I specify what type of wine I'm looking for without looking at the menu and the staff recommend excellent glasses (2 times in a row they recommended the same chardonnay off the same description, which was excellent). Between excellent food, great wines and a beautiful setting you'd think you're good to go... but it's the team that works at Vin 25 that really makes the experience incredible. read more

I attended a private company party at Vin25 last night and I have to say it was not only one of the best meals I have had in a long time, but it was by far the best experience I have had in a very long time. Everything from the staff to the décor to the food was perfection. We had about 50 people in our group total, but you would have thought you were the only one being waited on. Each table was equipped with their own server, although everyone was consistent in checking on everyone else. We had a select menu that was paired with different wines for each course. The selection of food and wine was seriously amazing. I also want to note that they paid particular attention to everyone's food allergies (gluten, tomatoes, and tree nuts) and made special considerations and moderations to our menu item choices. All in all it was wonderful from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. I will definitely be going back and will not think twice about recommending this restaurant to those looking for a romantic date or a company party. read more

Hubby and I have been here a few times and we have never had any problems with the service (to address previous comments) and have found the staff to be very knowledgable and very attentive. We have ordered our food with staff selected pairings twice and both times felt their choices were excellent and a nice addition to the experience. We especially enjoyed the Napoleon last night, fried green tomatoes stacked with crab filling in between slices, and have always enjoyed the food. It can be very loud indoors with the people at the bar being the worst offenders so sitting outside is a bonus if the weather is cooperative. Only thing keeping this from 5* is the service! Food was amazing, pimento cheese balls were amazing. Had their chicken paillard and my husband had their fresh catch blackened mahi. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, vegetables were so crisp and fresh. We had the donuts (to die for!), bread pudding (so flavorful!) and Oreo icebox cake (lackluster) for dessert. Will definitely be going back. Service was quite terrible but food makes up for it. The server just didn't really care we were there, did the bare minimum.
