Such a cute doughnut shop! I drove 35 minutes to try some of their baked goods just because of the name. I originally went to the Clayton location, but soon found out it was closed (most likely indefinitely). Still, after all that frustration, I was so happy to walk into such a warm atmosphere. It was adorable and smelt great. The employees were very kind and quickly drummed up an engaging conversation with me. Sadly, most of the doughnuts were already sold out despite it only being nine in the morning. Luckily a few remained. I got a dozen donuts and some kolaches. The kolache had a wonderful filling. It was cheesy and filling. I wasn't a fan of the crust, though. It resembled a biscuit--making me excited--but mostly tasted like baking powder. Plus, it crumbled all over the place. I shared most of the donuts but tried both the Samoa and Black Forest Cake. The Samoa was not very special to me. It was good, but nothing astounding. However, the Black Forest Cake was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I didn't want it to end. Overall I think this is a good stop to make. The star is for creativity. That's basically all this place has going for it. The donuts are hit or miss...By that I mean, if they're not dry/stale, they're oily....Like, old grease. I'd take a basic QT donut over these any day. Staff is friendly...it's the least they can do, considering they're selling you lousy product. Owner is a not so closeted racist, so if the donuts didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth, he certainly did. Overcharging a community, two thirds of which you inherently hate, for tragically poor product isn't a good look. I say "tragically" because it really is so sad that they have all these creative ideas, but can't pull off the donut part of the recipe. My husband, daughter and I visited on a Friday about 10am and they had plenty of doughnuts to choose from. I shared a savory biscuit thing with eggs baked in it with my husband and we both loved it. My daughter had a Cookies and Cream doughnut and in her words "it was super yummy and the best doughnut I ever ate". My husband had the chocolate covered doughnut with Bavarian Creme and really loved it, which is impressive since he is very picky. Overall I was very disappointed. The yeast donut was undercooked and doughy inside, and the cake donut was very dry and almost inedible. These would be more of what I would expect if I was buying donuts in a package from a gas station, not from a specialty donuts shop. By far the best doughnuts I have ever had!! I go out of my way to come here. My favorite is the lemon lavendar. These doughnuts are like a huge cloud of amazing that just melt in your mouth and leaving you with a party for your tastebuds. I'm looking forward to trying the breakfast pockets next time. I know people have left some bad reviews on here which is shocking to me . I have never eaten a bad thing here nor have had a bad experience. These doughnuts are delicious! This was my first visit to this place. I came early in the morning and already some of the doughnuts were sold out (typical of doughnut shop). They had various doughnuts of different types and unique flavors (cookies n' creme, New York cheesecake, etc) and prices. Not all the doughnuts are the same price (prices varied but I believe the highest was $4 or $4.50) but you get a lot for your money. The doughnut I got (cookies n' creme) was huge! Can't go wrong with any of the doughnuts. Cookies and Cream was my favorite and a close second was the Vanilla Glaze. On Sundays they have doughnut holes, making for a great snack. The donuts are okay. If you want to spend a bit on a really fancy donut, this is a good place. The line isn't unbelievable long any time I've gone. But their coffee! The coffee is a definite no. I got a latte, which is like 4 bucks, and it tastes like fast station coffee. The clerk didn't aerate the milk, used preground decaf( which is understandable given it's just not as popular) and pulled the shots first so they just sat there getting old before being mixed. Donuts! Yes, they are good, but I have had better. Without naming what I am comparing Vincent Van doughnut with, i will say Vincent is lacking. The dough is standard donut dough without depth of flavor. It is, however, unique in being homemade. I was able to try the Chocolate Salted Caramel and the Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both the icing (on the chocolate salted caramel) and the chips and streusel (on the Chocolate Chip Cookie) were great, but the dough was not. If i were to go to experience one of the locations again, I would definitely try the Cake Donut options or another menu item. read more

Our family stopped through this morning and had a few donuts and a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. The kids enjoyed the free donut holes and the great variety of beautiful donuts on display made it hard to choose. The staff was very pleasant and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and fresh. We did find the donuts to be rather dense and dry which is why I only give it three stars. I understand he has an approach to donuts that is a bit unconventional in that they are less pastry like, as in light and airy and more breadlike, denser and a bit of spring. In that sense mission accomplished. Personally didn't care for it but I can appreciate the work that went into developing his dough recipe, a little extra gluten or higher protein flour maybe? We got there minutes after opening and I would expect a dounut to have a fresher taste and texture. If it was from a previous days fry shame on them.
