While on a recent business trip to the area, Vince's was recommended to us. The size and the crowd was a surprise when we got there. The menu was simple which frequently indicates a well executed dish. We ordered the 1/2 portion of spaghetti with meat sauce. What a portion...just like home. The spouse devoured her plate while I left with a doggy bag. The spaghetti was excellent as well as the garlic bread. Only suggestion I have is to put a little less dressing on the salads. Vince's has been a staple of our family for over 20 years. They have hands down the best spaghetti noodles and spaghetti sauce around. Unfortunately they stopped selling their lasagna which will be missed. Their family meal combo is an amazing deal and usually feeds our family of 3 at least 2-3 full meals. Don't issue gift cards that list all the locations, if they aren't accepted at all of them! What a mess and an embarrassing establishment. Why am I hearing from the Temecula manager that their owner can't get ahold of her family in Ontario to sort out the gift card issue? Your family drama should not impact customers. An old school Italian-American landmark, and definitely worth the visit, at least once. It's been around since the 1940s, and so parts of it feel old, but overall, it feels very homey, a place that you can easily take a family. The service is friendly and pretty efficient. Large parking lot and easy to find. The menu is very limited, but keep in mind it's called Vince's Spaghetti, so what do they serve? Spaghetti! Okay, they have a few other things, but not many. I've been to this particular location only twice, but went to a related (and now closed) location in Torrance more times than I can count, and decided that I needed to venture out to this Ontario location (menu is just slightly different than the Torrance one had). Spaghetti or mostaccioli - I recommend the meat the sauce. Also, a half-size portion is plenty, but if you want leftovers, go ahead and order the full-size. The meat sauce is a pretty basic red meat sauce - I've heard that it's pretty authentic from some Italians (depending on where you or your nonna comes from, I imagine!). Garlic bread - I highly recommend the garlic bread over the cheese bread. It's pretty flavorful enough, the cheese doesn't really add much else. Plus the garlic bread is really tasty when you add some meat sauce to it. I've had meals with almost that alone! Lasagna - here also, the half-size portion is plenty, but if you want leftovers, get the full-size. Interestingly, it's a red lasagna with spinach! Just enough to know it's there, but does not take over the flavor of the lasagna. I didn't notice the first time that I came to this location, but when I was just there, the pastas came topped with shredded provolone or mozz (not sure which), but it wasn't melted on top, just came with a mound of shredded cheese. I don't know if this was normal, but did catch my attention as unusual. Meatball Sandwich with cheese - so good, and kinda messy. Big meatballs, and the sandwich is made on their garlic bread! So different! I did notice that this time, it seemed saltier than I remember from before. French Dip - mustard. SO, I'm pretty sensitive to mustard since I'm not that keen on it. On my first bite, I noticed there was a mustard taste. I opened the sandwich, don't see any mustard, doesn't smell like mustard. Hm. Take another bite, there's gotta be mustard. The sandwich is made on the garlic bread, so I thought, well, maybe it's just making it taste a little unusual - a little odd tang. There was plenty of meat, and there was a nice sized cup of jus. I then started to notice that the jus had little bits in it, like you would see from a pickle relish - was that the odd taste? I finished the sandwich (being a bit confused, off put, but okay with it all at the same time), but finally had to ask on my way out. "No, there's no mustard on the sandwich." "But what's that other flavor then?" Oh, well, yeah, we coat the roast beef in mustard before cooking and we augment the sauce with mustard." I knew it! read more

I find it ridiculous that they charge for an extra plate, but if that's their policy, so be it. My husband ordered the meatball sandwich, which surprisingly did not come with cheese, and we were charged an additional $1.95 for it. The spaghetti was slightly under-sauced this time, and we were told that extra sauce would cost an additional $3.00. The salad was plain, consisting of only shredded carrots. Worth a try for sure as they're an IE classic. The spaghetti was pretty decent as were the meatballs. The bread was okay as well. My only real issue with the food was the salad dressing...I got blue cheese and it smelled and tasted weird. The service was fine...no one was rude and they were semi-friendly. Same with the ambience...it was fine but nothing special. I have them rated as 3 star but a couple tweaks would change that to 4 (a new supplier for their salad dressing and just a little more enthusiasm from the staff). read more

I have been coming here since I was a kid, I always loved it, wanted to come every birthday or special event. Even during the pandemic they struggled but I still loved coming to pick up some orders to go. I'm not sure if any of you know this but the spaghetti was actual spaghetti from Italy. But I've gone a month ago and the food has changed drastically. The cheese is not the same, I'm not sure if the spaghetti is still from Italy, I'm on the fence if the bread has changed or not. We made the trip out for lunch at Vince's. We drove out from Tustin Ranch. Definitely worth the trip. The wife ordered the Vince's meal half order with soup and salad. She loves the house dressing and adds the provolone cheese. I ordered the Vince's lunch plate with soup. We both got the meat sauce and garlic bread. Everything was great. The true sign of an excellent restaurant is consistency. We have both been going here for 50 years since high school and the food and service is as good today as it was 50 years ago. I've always seen this place on Holt my entire life and have always wanted to try it. Yesterday I finally pulled the trigger. I got a half order of spaghetti with meat sauce. That half order made for one serving was two swerving for me even though I was hungry. The taste? Freaking amazing!! I've never ordered spaghetti at a restaurant let alone going to a spaghetti restaurant and I've realized that I've been missing out! I ate way more than I intended to because it tasted so delicious. The server was the worst I've ever had. It took 20 minutes for her to greet our table and all she did was complain. He never took a drink order the hostess did that and we waited another 20 for drinks. Never got refills. It was just awful. I honestly don't know why I love the spaghetti here. There's no wow factor, sometimes the sauce is watery and flavorless, sometimes there's too much or not enough sauce. The meat sauce is simple, probably canned lol. But goddam, they must put crack in it cuz I love it. It honestly reminds me of my childhood school cafeteria spaghetti, maybe that's why I like it, cuz it's nostalgic. I always get a full order of spaghetti with meat sauce and melted cheese on top. I have been eating at Vince's in Ontario since I was a child. I figure it's been about 53 years now. I love Vince's spaghetti. I always order the spaghetti with meat sauce and a garlic roll. It is my favorite spaghetti, and it consistently tastes the same every time. The minestrone soup is simple, but good. The salad is also very basic, but it's fresh. The decor is not fancy. If you're searching for fine dining this is not it. The dining room has two sections. One has booths and dark lighting. I much prefer this section. The other section is more like a mess hall, brighter, noisier, more open space. When I was a child the restaurant used to be packed with a long line of people in the waiting area. I don't see the lines anymore. The food has always been the same great food though. It's been a long time since I have tried their other locations. I never thought the other locations made the noodles as good. The restaurants say they're the same, but I stick with the Ontario location. read more

Do not come here if you don't like to wait 45 min for your water or iced tea. We had a party of 30 people reserved for a school reunion and at the same time they had a party of 20 high school grads. It took 40 min to get my beer I ordered. There was 1 employee for the entire 2x party's in the back room. Took a hour and half to get food. No refill on waters. Very slow service. The employee was also very short and rude. How do they staff 1 employee for 50 people? Of course there was a 18% auto gratuity for a big group so why should staff worry about how slow everything took? read more

This place is sad. It's only my second time visiting, not of my own desire. My fiancé's family chose this place as family get together tradition. The first time we came over five orders were delivered wrong and the check was majorly wrong. We only ever have one server for a party of 20-30. Now the second visit, we were seated and didn't have drinks after over an hour of being seated. We approached the sad excuse for a manager and his response was "I'll look into it." Not trying to remedy the situation but just pacify. The food is mediocre at best for prices beyond fine dining. This isn't fine dining, not even close. History doesn't make up for quality.
