Have come here before. Had good wings here in past and like the draft beer choice. I am writing about the hands down WORST bar service I have had in YEARS. My friend and I sat at the bar. The bar was almost filled with drinkers but not an overwhelming or demanding crowd. The bartender took our orders and only brought my beer. She had to be reminded ten minutes later to bring my friend her beer. Part way through the beer, my friend discovered her beer glass had a large crack. Another server gave her a new glass and draft. Our server finally took our food orders and we didn't see her again at our spot at the bar for over an hour after we had our food. She didn't even check to see if we wanted another beer and certainly did not check on us with the food. My friend more than once tried to flag the bartender over. She looked as if she was purposely looking past us. She did come over to give us our bill and then actually thanked us when we left. Maybe she didn't see the small tip we left her. Sad thing is my daughter is in the bar business and I am always generous in tips. I absolutely couldn't tip well in this case. The bartender was old enough to know how better to serve customers and give even a small bit of attention. She did it well with the many gentlemen at the bar. She couldn't bother with us for some reason. It was not anything we did. We were polite customers. A shame for this decent neighborhood bar. She is a detriment to the place. read more

Bedsides being the only place in Springdale with decent looking bartenders the truth is no one gives a shit here unless youre a regular or friends with a bartender. Lots of TV's and the food is good. So here is the deal as straight forward as it can be. It is a nice local bar to go for a drink, hangout or watch a game. The pizza and wings are good enough and the prices on the nights they have specials make it a good bang for your buck. There is a good selection of beers on tap and the pours on the whiskey are excellent. The only real criticism is that the overall service at the bar is slow (and that is being nice). It is a long bar that typically has two bartenders which is more than enough staff to handle whatever is going on but the fact is they walk up and down the bar with their heads down and short of waving your hands like a lunatic it can be hard to get their attention. Bottom line when you go there lower your expectation on service and enjoy the night with reasonably priced drinks and bar food. read more

This is probably my favorite bar & restaurant around. They have a variety of different foods on the menu and a lot of beer to choose from (I believe they have about 30 beers on tap! - lots of IPAs which are my fave). This weekend I had the Italian dip and it was one of the best dips I've ever had. I come here a couple times a week and every single time the service is on point and every server always greets you with a smile. All around great place. read more

Good wings, blah nachos, and blah pizza. I ordered water and it tasted like if the water pipe broke, nasty, so we had to return it a ordered a soda. There are not refills for soda. Kids chicken tenders totally over priced, $6 for 2 tenders and fries and it doesn't come with a drink. We ordered the large wings for$13 (15 of them) it came w/13 (pitiful to count them but we did). The nachos were not that good, I have had better and with a lot more. The pizza has a very very thin crust that it was like eating water crackers with cheese and toppings for $12. Vinny's.... So much for so little! Really, you drive up and its a crummy restaurant-front in an even crummier strip-mall. I never would have stopped there if I wasn't going with friends! But, you walk in and you are greeted by booth seating to the right and a u-shaped bar on the left. The bar is the place to sit. The interesting mixture of patrons makes for great people-watching and the TVs plastered all over the walls makes for great sports-watching. The drink prices aren't bad and the food is definitely better than most bar food! Go on Wednesdays for $0.20 wings or try the Salad Pizza (a favorite for most of my friends!) Inexpensive anything is tough to find in Stamford which makes Vinny's a hidden treasure for locals in Springdale. This neighborhood pub is reasonably priced and has a fairly large variety of foods and drinks. I've only had the hot wings, which I'd rate as average. My only complaint would be that the help, while super attractive, seem to be catering very heavily to the locals and not give the best service to people visiting in town such as myself. For sports fans, they have TV's planted all over the place so you can catch your favorite team from just about any part of the circular bar. read more

Vinny's Backyard Restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. Located in a strip mall on Hope St., sandwiched between a CVS and a drycleaners, it's not exactly prime real-estate. Fortunately, Vinny's is right around the corner from my house, and I've been there enough times to try most of the menu, and experience the vibe there at night too. As a restuarant, Vinny's serves up some of the best thin crust pizza in Stamford. I recommend the hot oil as a topping. They also have decent wings, especially the General Tso and Chipotle flavors. There is no shortage of cute bartenders and good company, and there's a different bar special every weeknight, which is usually a beer and food combination for under $10. There's also waiter service on the side of the restaurant. As a bar, you'll find a small upper 20's and 30's crowd on weeknights. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can expect the relatively small bar to be pretty full. They have a full bar, including wine, 6 or so beers on tap, plenty of bottles, and liquor as well. Vinny's is a very unique hybrid bar / restaurant that appeals to all types of people. The bar area is probably a bit more blue-collar while the restaurant area caters to families of all types. I think we've been there 6-7 times for dinner, and have never had a bad experience. The pizzas are very thin and good. One person could probably eat one for their main dish and be satisfied, but they are small. We usually order one as an appetizer since they are good for sharing and come out relatively quickly. Burgers are very average, in my opinion. While they have some "creative" combinations, none of them are all that appealing to me. I will say the fries are really solid here though. Their wings and BBQ ribs are probably the "signature" items. I have had the ribs before and they taste good, but there is almost no meat on the bones. It's kind of a disappointing dish because of how skimpy their racks are. Other mains like the bolognese pasta are very good, and both the shrimp dish or the field greens salad are a very healthy alternative if you are looking for one. Also has a comprehensive kids menu that has never let us down yet. All in all, it's ok. I don't have anything to complain about, but equivalently, I have nothing to rave about either. Service has always been up to expectations, prices are ok. It's a decent place, hence the 3-stars. read more

So disappointing. This used to be a reliable spot for a burger, wings, salad or "bar" style pizza. Have visited a few times in 2014 and has been getting worse each time. Example: on last visit I ordered a Gorgonzola and smoked bacon salad for my meal -- it came with neither Gorgonzola nor bacon. When I was finally able to signal our server she didn't take it back but rather brought me 2 small "sample" sized cups of bacon and Gorgonzola -- like 2 oz. of each! Didn't help. Salad tasted like smoke -- and it wasn't from the bacon. Awful. How do you mess up a salad? Service is a disaster. Avoid. Not the spot it once was. There are better places to spend your $ in Stamford. read more

Good food, lots of beers and USED to have the best french dip around.

While on vacation, my family likes to hit the mom & pop type restaurants. After reading some of the reviews for their wings, we settled on Vinnie's. My wife had the coffee burger which she thought was good, although she said she didn't really taste the coffee. My son had the cheese pizza which was good also. My daughter and I both got a large order of the original wings which were delicious. We debated on getting some more to go because we liked them so well. Would definitely eat there again. read more

The bartenders are not only beautiful on the outside but also on the inside especially Christina and Caitlin! Truly a place where everybody knows your name! Don't be put off by the shady looking exterior because the food here is awesome. If you're looking to enjoy a football Sunday with some amazing wings, fries and beer then come here. The price is moderate - not cheap or too expensive but somewhere in between. Don't expect anything beautiful here, it is a sports bar after all. But this place has crispy wings that aren't too small and hold a lot of flavor which is really hard to find. Wings really are a favorite of mine so finding a place I can finally enjoy them at in Stamford has been pretty exciting. read more

I eat here often for an informal family dinner and have even gotten their takeout. I LOVE their pear Gorgonzola pizza. I crave it. My son loves their sliders. Great for a quick dinner when you don't feel like cooking. read more

The food is pretty good for bar food, especially the think crust pizza. Both food and drink are very affordable, however, the decor really needs an upgrade as it feels old. Crowd is mostly Stamford locals, which may be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. read more

We just had terrible experience at vinnys backyard. My bill was $51.25 and we left two twenties and eleven singles and I left a generous tip because I know waiters do not get paid a base salary. We apparently left thirty eight dollars which is false and the waiter and vinny confronted my friends outside. So my friend went to look inside to see if the 20$ which somehow got up and walked away. While my friend looked for the other twenty dollar bill and vinny told my friend "to get the fuck out of my restaurant." He was way out of line and I do not recommend going to this place. read more

Great selection of beers. Wings are the best; I usually get half BBQ and half Chipotle, but the Asian style are very good, too. Favorite entree is hands down the Wasabe burger - it's loaded with beef and the plate overflows with fries. It does get pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights but that is expected. read more

I like the pizza here, but I'm a fan of the Colony style pizza. They do it well here. And the bathrooms are clean and there's plenty of parking, after that I've got nothing. In the bar they have 8 of the worst TVs. They're all too tiny and while they have NFL ticket, they don't show the games in HD. How's that even possible? The servers spend they're time paying attention to eachother and not their customers. If possible, go elsewhere for your games. To make it better they need newer and larger HD TVs with HD programming shown on them. Plus they need to replace their servers and have a manager on duty to make sure they're doing their jobs right. read more

I will never return to this place. Went with a group of friends to watch the Red Sox in the World Series (Game 6, the championship game when they clinched). Walked in and no employees acknowledged us. When a table finally cleared in the bar area, we sat ourselves and waited roughly 10 minutes for someone to come clean and remove the dirty dishes. We were ignored by waitresses until finally flagging someone down. It took roughly 5-10 minutes for them to bring us pitchers of beer. The wings are mediocre at best. We asked for the manager to put the audio to the World Series over the PA system (confirmed they do this for football games) and they refused 4 SEPARATE TIMES! The bar was full of Red Sox fans, but the owner opted to play classic rock music instead of catering to his customers. A regular season game, fine, but for a special event like the World Series I find this to be unacceptable. There are also multiple signs on the wall telling customers they will be charged for complaining. Maybe this is supposed to be "cute", but given the dreadful service it perfectly exemplifies that the owner could care less about his customers. I would not got back to Vinny's under any circumstances. We spent about $200 and were treated like we simply walked in to use the bathroom. read more

First of all, let me be the first to say that if you put anything below 4 stars for this place you either think you won Top Chef or you most likely walked into the wrong place. There is something for everyone and its real easy to find on their menu. Theres a bar side and a restaurant side. Plenty of large tv's and its an ideal place to watch the game. I've seen people in suits and ties down to baseball teams eating here. Large booths, two person booths or 12 person booths, sit at the bar or bar tables, bar booths overlooking the pizza being made or even just sit by yourself. My boyfriend and I always come here for the wings, pizza and salad. We usually order a large wings (half buffalo and half sesame), hot oil pizza, and large caesar salad. The wings rarely disappoint us, and are arguably the best wings in Fairfield county. The pizza is good, but definitely on the thin side (sometimes too thin) and the salad is great. The only reason we wouldn't give it 5/5 stars is because the service at the bar can be spotty, sometimes not getting attention or sometimes getting attention but a bit of attitude.
