Ordered an extra large cheese and pepperoni pizza. Only 10 pepperoni on the pizza the cheese and sauce runny all over the box. Never ordering from here again. I grew up on Long Island, and Vino's on Baymeadows used to be my hands down fave place in Jacksonville for NY-style pizza. The crust was close to perfect, the sauce was really zesty and had plenty of olive oil, and the sausage was sliced, which is a requirement for authentic NY pizza. I'm sorry to say that I recently went back after several years away, and in that time it's gone way downhill. The crust wasn't so bad, but the sauce didn't have much flavor, there wasn't much olive oil, and the sausage was lumps, not slices. I could hardly have been more disappointed. read more

Not really sure what happened to Vino's! I have ordered from there a few times and the food has always been excellent. I generally love their Deluxe pizza, tiramisu, and cheese cake. It's always been so fresh and tasty, so I'm hoping my recent order was a fluke. Recently the deluxe pizza lacked flavor and the cheese wasn't melted all the way on top. It was still good, but not like the past few times. The cheesecake was always delicious topped with a raspberry syrup and the tiramisu was always a nice thick slice. Last night they were both blah! The cheese cake was a frozen slice with the raspberry syrup prefilled in the frozen slice and the tiramisu was in a cup form like you would buy in the freezer section at Costco. Not sure if they have new management, new cook, or what; but it was not the same quality as the past few orders. read more

We thought we'd give Vino's a shot for dinner on a whim, and wow, were we happy we did! Seriously, it was some of the tastiest pizza I've ever had--the crust was perfectly crispy. This place is horrible, this is Jax I ordered fish and shrimp thinking you know I would be ok. Nope not only was the shrimp not even all the way peeled not like left the tail on but also just missed parts on the actual shrimp to include the occasional leg, but the fish wasn't even battered just dropped in the fryer. Now I have had fish all over the place but this fish not good very distinct fishy taste so if you don't like that don't waste your time or money. The fries soggy like they just straight don't cook them long enough and who put marinara in with a fish and shrimp basket oh I know someone who doesn't know the difference between that and a cocktail or tarter sauce which the picture had but that's not what you get. I love Vino's Pizza. I always get a 2 or 3 topping NY style large pizza. Tonight I got a large sausage and mushroom pizza. I've had and recommend the sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and tomatoes. The steak and cheese with extra cheese is great too! I've been coming here since 2010, they're my favorite pizza spot in Jax! This time around I ordered an XL pepperoni pizza, cheese sticks, and fries and we dined in. Aesthetically, dining in isn't 5stars but the customer service has always been great. Even though they're busy (you can tell by the amount of phone calls and walk ins) we still got our food quick. The cheese sticks are THE ONLY cheese sticks I've had that actually stretch apart! Lol. The flavors on the pizza is always A1 and I mean fries are fries, you can't mess those up. No apology, took no responsibility. Did not try to make it right. The tone the owner of Vino's had on the phone was so rude. I had a training session at the office with about 12 people waiting for this order to arrive. 4/5 stars here. They have delicious calzones. The crust is slightly sweeter and light. The mozzarella is really fresh and tasty. It felt like eating a deep fried cheese stick. Also, the pizza crust is crispy yet slightly chewy. I do think they could improve on the interior and exterior of their store. The quality of their food is better than what they show from the appearance of their restaurant. I think they are stepping up their game due to covid and online ordering. The place looks a little run down, but don't judge this restaurant by its cover. The food tastes wonderful. We didn't wait long to get our food. The kids enjoyed the pepperoni pizza, lasagna, and pepperoni calzone. My girlfriend had the steak wrap and I had the steak and grilled onions calzone. The calzone was baked/cooked really nice. The steak's flavor was marvelous. We also ordered 20-pc hot wings. Loved the sauce! It would have been perfect if the wings were cooked a little longer. I like them kinda crispy, but we still devoured them. Their crispy crust personal pizza is only $5.99 for a 10" and their kids lasagna is big enough to feed an adult. So after I locked myself out of my truck, paid to get it unlocked AND was late to work... I figured why not chicken wings!! I drove 10 minutes out of my way because everything else was closed and upon the first glance and bite I was very disappointed. I ordered half garlic and half mild and even though they smelled delicious the flavor didn't get the invite to the party! The chicken was Bland in taste, some fried soft others too hard and if they used any form of salt my taste buds sure couldn't tell. I called my order in and he was a bit short with me, they still had 55 minutes until closing so I didn't understand the rush. Vino's is small and it sits on the corner off of the Main Street, you might miss it if you blink. It's small inside and there were no customers. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes once I arrived. This place being so close to the gym is such a tease. I love it! Don't let the outside cover fool you. Walking in dim lighting made me feel like I was in someone's dinning room. I go to the register to order and wait while the only noticeable server tells a story about her grandmother to another table. At the time there were only two tables. Practiced a little patience and just waited. But as I waited I over heard great things. The table currently being attended by the waitress was thanking her for the great food. Stated that this was their first time eating here and that Yelp lead them to try it out! Waitress turns around and sees me and immediately starts apologizing for the wait. I tell her that I've had this place bookmarked on Yelp for sometime. I was off Bowden and ran into another "Vino's." I assumed it was the same business just a different location - but I was curious why they would be so close to each other. At the Bowden location I'm told they had lost the least at the Baymeadows location and were forced to relocate and would be closing the Baymeadows location. I told the server there that if the Baymeadows location was really closing I rather order from there before they go away. And I'm happy I did. (Will be reviewing other location). Waitress gives me the biggest laugh. Explains to me that the other restaurant has opened up and copied every aspect of this location. And it seems now they are going as far as lying to customers. She restates that this restaurant has been opened a long time and they have no plans on closing. Once I'm given a menu, I get a nasty taste in my mouth. It's an EXACT copy of the menu I was handed just minutes before from the previous location. I order the Eggplant sandwich. While I wait a father and son come in to grab to large pizzas for what the son excited shouted out "Now our man night can start daddy." I just love the neighborhood feel of this place. I take my sandwich home and open up to layers of cheesy, tomatoey eggplant parmesan goodness on a roll. Some foods are worth getting messy over, and this is definitely one of them. When I called to correct the issue, the guy who wouldn't give his name proceeded to yell - oh yea the pizza is missing one topping ... umm.. the pepperoni pizza is missing pepperoni/ how does that classify as missing 1 topping??! A nondescript pizza place tucked into the back of a large strip mall complex is the kind of place where I never know what to expect, but this place is quite the hidden gem in Baymeadows. The place isn't anything fancy, basically a take out and delivery shop which also has a few tables if you want to dine in as I did. The service is very efficient and friendly, in fact the waitress kept refilling my drink even though I was only a few feet from the machine and wouldn't have minded doing it myself. The food is excellent and some of the best pizza I've had in quite awhile. The cheesy bread is fresh, hot, and tasty without being at all greasy. The main attraction here is the pizza. The New York style hand tossed veggie pizza is worth a try. It has lots of toppings and is cooked just right without being too greasy or doughy. Frequently, I have to blot the extra grease off of my pizza but that never even entered my mind here. We ordered the extra large pizza and despite having 3 people, we had leftovers so they give you lots of food. For excellent pizza, I'd forget the big chains and go here. This place is easy to miss but then again there was another pizza joint next door that was a little more "modern" and that's where I went, that is until they shut down. Vino's is small and seating is limited in a way. They have 6-8 tables but there's not a whole lot of space. My buddy and I dined in and for $5 we got two decent slices with 1-topping along with a drink. The slices were greasy, but it was cheap and good. It's pizza night! Being from NY you know how we feel about our pizza. The pizza here was okay. My favorite part of it was the crust. (Yes, there are people who enjoy just pizza crust ) Who doesn't want dessert after dinner? #TreatYoSelf Excited AF they have zeppoles on the menu! My altime favorite when the county fair came my hometown or just when you had a sweet tooth you can run into your local pizza place and get some. There's a knock on my door and before I even get to the pizza box I open the box of zeppoles because why the hell not!? I take a bite into it and there is NO DOUGH! I take a bite of another one and still no dough! It was literally like biting into a fried empty shell. How sad is this y'all? You're looking forward to one of your favorite desserts and it's literally an empty puffball? So disappointing. And to top things off they gave me a small container of some red liquid.
