There are waaaayyy too many bomb taquerias in this area to waste your time at VIP tacos. I literally live next door and I'd rather make the drive elsewhere. I'll start with service. Service sucks, like they don't care that you exist. You will wait an abnormal amount of time for any small order. The food also is whatever. The meat is not good, the carne asada fries are lacking toppings. I'm always left with a ton of dry fries. When they first opened, everything tasted and looked better. After a couple years and after building the guests, they don't care about he food anymore. I also feel they changed the quality of products as well, the old bait and switch. 2 stars for the handmade tortillas and the extra spicy salsas at the salsa bar. read more

Stopped in a for a quick lunch bite, fairly small but clean and the staff was friendly and food arrived quickly. What I liked was they had a good selection of taco meats, steak and chicken are okay but I prefer the tripas(crispy please) buche, cabeza, etc..... The salsa bar was good with many selections, tacos arrived hot and the tortillas are hand made, you can taste the difference. If you want a no frills quick bite of some authentic street tacos this is a place worth checking out. read more

I came here after a weird semi-late night craving (they close at 11 after all) on a regular Wednesday night. The area isn't the best but it's also not the worst. The restaurant itself is pretty cute, simple, but cute. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos, 2 carnitas tacos, (hold the onions on both) and a horchata. The total came to about $12.00. I was a little weird about the price but hey, what can you do when all you want is a good, authentic taco? The quality was pretty good, especially after adding some lemon and salsa verde from their salsa bar. The meat was tender, the tortillas are warm, and the horchata was as authentic as an American corporation could make it! I also tried my friend's fish taco which was as equally (if not better) amazing as my tacos. They're not Tijuana's Tacos but they're definitely up there in regards to my favorite taco spots and I'll probably be back to try something new, maybe a torta next time? read more

I feel silly for sleeping on this place that's been around for years but since finding out about it we've definitely made up for lost time. This is our go to spot for Mexican food. Plenty of room to dine in, but if you're getting take out make sure to call ahead as they always seem to be busy (the food is that good). Our favorites are the tacos or the pastor fries. This place was recommend by my girlfriends roommate, pretty decent Taco spot. Their tacos here are 1.95 so that was a pricier option that most in the area. I got 4 tacos for myself and 3 for my girlfriend. I like how this spot has a stand that also has all the sides, sauces, limes, etc. most of the time they just give that to you firsthand. Instead they got you on deck. Wish they had radishes though. read more

Came in yesterday for a carne asada burrito for lunch. More beans than meat was in it! During the sit down lunch notice how they were transporting their meat. In a back up a opened bed pick up truck! Meat was not even frozen! Asked the dude "is this how you transport your meat then cook it?" His reply " it's still cold". Wow! First time going here over the weekend and this place is awesome for being open late to satisfy that taco craving. It can be a bit pricey but the tacos are BOMB and soooo worth it !! The food here is pretty good. I love their beef and shrimp tacos. They have a sauce bar on the side which has a variety of different sauces you can choose from that are really yummy! Unfortunately, they didn't seem to have anything enforced regarding new COVID restrictions. The restaurant is fairly small so it can get pretty cramped and people do not seem to be too far apart from each other ): Hopefully they'll be able to enforce some new social distancing rules soon. read more
