They sure know how to talk you into their products. I've bought shampoo/conditioner, serums, and hairsprays from them. And I still use these products today. I always leave happy with my new do! Love this place! I went there for the first time and I had Sandra as my stylist! She was very friendly and she gave me an awesome haircut! I went to visit her about 2 times a month and until one day she was booked, the front desk recommended me Cristiano. He was the same level as her, so why not try him? Right? Well I was right! I love the both of them and I recommended all my friends to get cuts by both of them. They both cut male & female hair and they do a good job! I always tip them every time I visit! I go with my friends because they don't know the stylists like I do, so then when they ask me what they should do to my friends hair I tell them just work their magic and leave it at that. I've never been impressed with the quality of work that any visible changes provided when it comes to color. (Cuts, sometimes.) So when I made an appointment here after a friend's recommendation, I was still a bit scared. I paid over $300 from a salon in midtown for ombré hair so I was afraid of the chance they'd ruin it here. But since I didn't want to pay another $300, I decided to give it a go with Mari and Rene. Hmmm... well let me just say I've never been completely satisfied with a color. Ever. Until my visit to this place. (Who knew!) I mean idk bout other colorists at VC, but it's obvious that Rene had a knack for it. I mean... it wasn't easy to do what I was requesting because I've only seen celebs with the quality of work I was looking for and you'd never thought you'd find it in houston, nevertheless at a mall! Anyway, I had to leave this review because there's not enough search results for people who are looking for great ombré colorists in houston. Now with Mari and my cut, initially I wasn't in love and I though it was a rush job... but after my first wash, and now a month later... I fall more and more in love with it. Really... she gave me exactly what I wanted but I didn't know it at the time and now I feel kinda bad that I didn't express gratitude or satisfaction at the time of my appointment. The only thing I'd maybe take away half a point for the review is for the pressure to buy products. But I can't leave a 4.5 star review so hopefully the total score will even out the average. My sister went in to have her hair ombred into a rose gold color. When I called initially to make the appointment I was told it would be between $130 and $250 and take roughly two hours. I asked if the difference was based on stylists and she said yes so I requested to book with someone that would be at the $130 price. The following day she went in for her appointment. 4 hours and over $200 later on color alone (before the recommended conditioning to hold the color longer & a cut which we knew would be an additional cost) she had lighter hair with a strawberry rose color. The woman who did her hair told her if she came back in a month they could use toner and apply more color for a more defined rose gold. The people were very nice and she was happy with her hair so I have no complaints about that (even though the color cost considerably more than originally told). What I'm unhappy with is that in only 5 days the rose gold was completely out. She's now left with a blonde ombre and we are out all this money for a weeks worth of what she wanted. Considering we were told having her hair conditioned would HOLD color better that feels like a waste too. We went in and told the front desk what happened and the girl we spoke with was apologetic. She went back to ask the woman who dyed my sisters hair what our options might be and when she came back we were told that "rose gold is a hard color to mix so it only lasts about a week." I can understand it being a difficult color to work with, but it would have been nice for them to be upfront and tell us that this color would only last a week when we first came in to have it done. Especially considering when she was dying her hair she mentioned coming back in a month to have it toned and reapplied for a defined color. We definitely wouldn't have paid that much money for her to have rose gold hair for less than a week. We are very disappointed in our experience at Visible Changes. Be wary if you are planning to have your hair colored, that it may not last more than a few days. read more

I have to really Rave about a recent visit to Visible changes. I usually just get a highlight and I only use London for that as she is a fabulous chemical specialists. She really talked to me about taking better care of my hair with top of the line hair care products because when you start to age your hair gets more dried out and coarse, because of the gray coming in. Especially when you are going to use bleach to highlight with. Which I didn't know this and I tend to have dry hair anyw ay. Thanks London for you're expertise and always making me feel so special . I've been coming to this VC for about 8 years to have Mary cut/style/do anything to my hair. Mary is by far the greatest hair stylist I've ever had! For the first couple of years, I would do the same exact thing to my hair every time and she did it perfectly, and she never questioned my decisions! Recently, I've been branching out and she has been so helpful in letting me know what would work with my hair and what wouldn't. I am always more than 500% satisfied when I leave Mary's chair. I trust her completely with my hair and I can't see myself going to anyone else. She is also, honestly, the sweetest person ever! She always asks me how I'm doing and how my mom and sister are doing (because they go to her too)! I wish my appointments were longer so I could talk to her more (even though I probably just talk too much)! She has practically become like part my family at this point! I could move hours away and I would still make the drive just to have Mary do my hair because that's how great she is! I am so thankful to have her as my hair stylist because I feel that she not only cares about how good my hair looks, but I feel like she really cares about me! If you're the type of person that looks at Yelp to find the best person to do your hair, eyebrows, nails, etc. I'm writing this for you! You will not find anyone better than Mary! She will just take your hair to a new level! She's absolutely incredible, friendly, and good person! I always leave her chair with fabulous hair and a smile. This place has horrible customer service. I came in here expecting to have good customer service, but never imagine how unprofessional service they have. I came in here for a new change, but was denied service. They first told me my hair was damage and that I needed to cut it in order for them to bleach it. I was not very happy about cutting my hair, but was willing to cut it in order to get the color I wanted . After waiting 2-3 minutes to get in line for cut. They lady comes and tell me. "I am not comfortable touching your hair. I was so mad because they first tell me cut your hair and we can bleach it and then change their mind. I then decided okay well lets dye my hair for a neutral color I got denied again. I work for surgeon and my schedule is very difficult I made agreements so I can get my hair done, but was just a waist of my time. I don't recommend this place. The manager was no help. read more

I got full highlights and they turned out ruddy and orange. I have a fair complexion and the colorist didn't want to listen to my requests for ash blonde tones or how I wanted my hair done. She insisted warm tones "look good on everybody." Not true! I went back to get it fixed and the manager was rude and unhelpful. They added toner to try to fix the uneven highlights and the color around my face which was sooo light and reddish orange it looked bad! They refused to fix it any further and weren't nice about fixing it. I ended up going to AISHA'S salon on Hillcroft to get it fixed and they told me that the highlights at the root in the back were UNEVEN! So in other words, I'm not going back to VC Willowbrook. They also have good customer service. Jessica is a master hair color specialist and is by far, the best I've been to - ever. Beatrice gave me one of the best layered bob hair cuts ever! Too bad she's at a Director level that is quite expensive to continusously use her for simply a hair cut, at $79 a pop. But if you get someone like her to cut your hair the way you want it, then get someone at a lower level (less expensive hairstylist) to maintain it, it's worth it. read more

Jen no longer works here outside of here it's been horrible horrible horrible I ask for light blonde got silver silver instead with uneven colors highlights ONLY on the top 1/4 ... even my hair cut???' I've had my hair HEAVILY dyed before ... NEVER has my hair fallennn out and broken sooo much in my life. I asked for a trim on the hair cut I had?? Totally changed and cut 2+ inches I went to Jen for many years and I Adore her and jasmin who out the original cut in... unless your personallyyy recommended to a stylist DONT GO HERE! Wayyy wayy iver priced to end up with this hair I'm devasted. They need to get quality hair dye no reason all the ladies on here are having their hair fried. I should be able to sit with any of the "top tier" OR low tier (wasn't my case only top creators) and not hair my hair like this and spent 250 for this night mare hopefully this lady I've been recommended to see can fix this horror show.
