If you want a really good hair cut ask for Sandra, she's so patient, understanding and you won't leave the door if you're not completely satisfied with your hair cut. I used visible changes once before and they ruined my hair, because of them I didn't cut my hair for a year and half, then I decided to give them a second chance cause I didn't have any other option and guys Sandra made me a believer again, I can trust a hair stylist again. There are good stylists there but avoid the higher priced divas. I had one good experience and posted a 5 star review. I went back 4-5 times and it was worse each time. I have since left. Terrible! I spent almost $90 on something that should've costed $60. I will never go back to Visible Changes despite the fact that I've been going for years. I'm sick of awful customer service from the front desk and being charged an arm and a leg for a trim. Before your automated Manager response posts to tell me that you want to make it right, save it. Here what happened. I made an appointment for a normal leveled hairdresser which costs $40 for women. When I went back to get my hair washed the girl asked if I wanted to upgrade my conditioner and I said yes and chose the $5 upcharge. While washing my hair she pulled my cartilage piercing multiple times and it was really painful. Next I got my hair cut and everything was fine. It was a simple trim and reshaping a long bob. She told me that I should try this conditioner that they have there (which I never accept) but this time I decided why not? So I asked how much it was and she said $16. So I said okay, that's reasonable, sure. She dried and straightened my hair like always and then I went to check out. When I got to the counter I was expecting $40 for my haircut, $5 for the conditioning upcharge, and $16 for the conditioner that I bought as well as tax. It came out to $86. I paid and left although I should have said something right then and there, it's not like me to cause a scene. I got to my car and called to ask what exactly I was charged for. They said that it was $40 for the cut, $25 for the product, $10 for the conditioning upcharge, and $12 for flat ironing. I told them that I asked for the $5 conditioning upgrade and I've never been told about the $12 flat iron upcharge. They were very rude about the whole thing and offered to refund me the $5 for the conditioning treatment but that's all. I will not be screwed over for something that I could pay $60 for instead. My wife read the reviews about this amazing place and told me about it. I have seen this place multiple times in colony one mall and then in Willowbrook mall. So I said, what the heck, lets try them out. So instead of heading to sports clip, where I am a regular, i checked in with this place. I was told that if I would like the haircut by the "Premier Director", they can arrange it in 10 minutes (which by the way costs $60 and up!) and anybody else, like "Hair Stylist" (which costs $24), I need to come back in 1.5 hours! Fair enough, its Saturday, we are in a mall, understood. We can kill 1.5 hours. So I came back at the appointment time, waited for 10 more minutes and then a girl showed up. She didn't even bother to pronounce my name, just pointed her finger on a piece of paper and asked me with a very flat face, "Is that you?" Bingo! How in earth she figured that out? I don't think it had anything to do with my ethnicity??Anyway, we headed to the shampoo area where somebody was cleaning up the place after a customer which had just left. So Once the place looked ready, I waited for further instruction and when none came, I decided to take the seat my self. Looks like these guys are not big with words, although they were talking to each other a lot, just not the customers, not even customary greetings. Oh, may be they don't have this custom of greeting the customers! So the washing finished with me guessing what to do with the towel left on my shoulders and when I dared to ask, I was told "just leave it on your shoulders". OK, so I obeyed and then followed the girl to the chair where somebody else was supposed to cut my hair. It's here, that I realized that silence is Golden. These guys are better without saying anything. So this new girl asked me what kind of haircut do I want? So, as ignorant I am, I showed her a piece of paper on which the good lady from sports clip wrote the hair cut specs for me. She read that and scornfully asked me, "is that what you want?" So i cautiously asked her if she has any suggestions? Well, silence fell again and without wasting any time, her electrical trimmer was already cutting my hair and in a hurry, she actually ran the trimmer on my left ear! It was a miracle that it did not chop my ear off! Then after few minutes, she broke the silence and asked me, "where were you going for hair cut before?". I told her Sports Clip. Quick came the next question, "why are you here then? Was it closed today?". I was surprised, usually when you are a first time customer, people want to make you feel welcome. But not this place! They made every possible effort to make me feel highly unwelcome! I am glad that I came out of this butcher house without any injury. Never ever going back, hell no! Thank you Sports clip for being so nice! I am sorry I betrayed you.. I wish there was a negative ranking and thats exactly what I would have given them. read more

I was very disappointed. It was the first visit there in years. But convenient hours for a working mom. I asked to get a wash and cut. My hair was just above the waste so I knew going in it would be somewhat of a shock...that's ok I was prepared for a little shock. I was NOT prepared for the atomic blast. Of course the hair wash was amazing. I think I could easily fall asleep in the chair. My stylist (Marlene) was polite. She had been with them a little over a year. During the conversation she asked all the right questions about products, family and etc. I even made the remark that my hair grows fast. Now...before the cut, I presented a picture of the style that I wanted. Along with the statement that ALITTLE shorter would be ok. She said absolutely she could do that cut. So off she went. I made the remark a few times that it was a lot of cutting, but "I'm just evening it out some". Once she stopped I reached up to the back and said "OMG---it's SHORT". Reply....."Oh, but you said it grows fast.". I'm hoping that when I post this that I can post the photos too. So needless to say......I went out for a evening to do something for just myself. To do that ever so infrequent thing that I do. Then CRIED all the way home. Normally I go to the Woodlands Mall location. LOVE them I have never had a bad experience! However, I tried the Willowbrook Mall since it's closer. Half my highlights on the left side was done correctly, right side looks like I have 3 weeks worth of growth and a large chunk not even highlighted! Thats not the worst part. I chose the highest level hoping it my hair would be done correctly. I was told they called the Woodlands Mall to get my toner color... my roots and several parts of my hair is ORANGE!!! Then if I pull my hair up.. it's beyond awful!! I had to wear a hat all day to look somewhat presentable with my clients!! Then on top of it all not only is my hair orange and looks awful... they charged me more than I have ever been charged before for HighLights! Which I don't mind paying for if it's done correctly!!! Jose has been doing my color for several years at another salon and now he has just graduated from the VC color school and is working at VC Willowbrook. Jose is an outstanding colorist and I was thrilled to visit him at his new venue...and speaking of the new venue - what a delightful place- everyone was so friendly, I felt right at home- it was well organized and so very clean. I highly recommend VC Willowbrook to anyone and of course - go see Jose who has incredible style and ability to make your hair look fabulous! I've been going to Willowbrook Visible changes for a little over 2 years now and no matter who I am assigned to I always get the best service. These cosmetologist make sure you're satisfied, get exactly what you asked for, and get your money's worth. My mom, sister and I have all been to Jen, who is absolutely amazing! She was the first person to ever touch my hair, when I was a freshman I got highlights and they came out perfect! Another hair stylist who should be recognized is Erica she did my mom's hair just today and it came out beautiful as expected. She spoke with my mom while she was getting her hair dried which made the process go by a little faster. Here at Visible changes you always leave with great hair, service and a new friend! read more

I just moved to Houston and I have never heard of this salon but I really wanted a new color to my hair. The ladies at the front counter were pretty unhelpful (all but one). And when I got to my stylist and told her that I wanted my hair colored deep burgundy she said it couldn't be done because my hair is brown and a few of my ends were still bleached from the ombré I had a year ago. She basically refused service to me and her reason made no sense. Oh well, her loss. I did however find a better salon and I got the exact color I wanted and I've gotten nothing but compliments over it. I will not be returning to visible changes. read more

Currently 40 minutes past my appt time. I asked when I would be called and was told "5 min" .. I then had someone wash my hair and have been sitting on the couch with soaking wet hair for 15 mins ... Still no clue when I will be called for my hair cut. Worst customer service ever. I'd leave, but my hair is soaking wet in a towel. Ridiculous! I will NEVER return. read more

I am a regular at the salon or shall I say I used to be. They have made a few changes this year that I'm not to keen on. First I use to be able to book online and get a 10% discount. They cut that out. Also, I use to look forward to getting my birthday gift which would be $15 off a service. Well this year they changed it to $15 signature cash off of any of their signature products. No offense but I'm not a fan of their signature line products. I will say at this point the only reason for my returning is my stylist Maria. She is the absolute best at what she does. We have built a relationship over the year and I will continue to be loyal to her as a client. It just might not be as frequent as before but to no fault of hers. read more

I went to Visible Changes once, and won't be back. The girl I was scheduled with called off, so they put me with a different stylist. Which was nice, but they neglected to tell me she was 2 tiers higher than what I wanted to pay. The hair cut was okay,nothing special for the amount of money I paid. But what I disliked was the overall experience. I felt like cattle being herded around from station to station, the music was loud and the overall experience was not relaxing. I also disliked that the girl I saw asked if I usually flat ironed my hair, and when I responded that I did, she proceeded to flat iron my hair, again not telling me it was going to be an additional 15 dollars. So I paid almost 80 dollars for just an okay hair cut and very non-relaxing experience... which is part of the reason I go to a salon. Very disappointed in the quality for cost here. read more

I am not happy with my hair right now. I went to be get me hair color and highlights. Called and booked appointment my time was 1pm it was 115pm when called. When they called my name started speaking with the person. I was telling her that I wanted my hair color and highlights. When she already started she telling me that I was only going to do short highlights due to not enough time to complete. They did not booked enough time. I've had 2 haircuts one was an AVEDA salon and I have been disappointed. Im not sure if certain stylists are scared, not confident or don't know how to achieve the haircuts/style I've asked for. I've settled these last few times with my hair growing back with no shape at all. So this time I went to Visible Changes because I had a good experience when I was traveling earlier last summer at a different location. Today I saw Maria and I showed her the pic and we had an awesome consultation. I had 2 styles in mind and we went over the pros and cons and I explained my disappointments from before. She did a great job while she was cutting and she styled it just how I ASKED for.. I was so happy when I left, sometimes all the glitz of other BIG franchised salons don't mean anything when their staff isn't talented or comfortable doing what their clients ask for. This place was horrible! I will NEVER go here again to get my hair done. I went in to get an all over color and picked a medium-high color expert to color my hair. My hair is naturally brown but i had some highlights in and i wanted to get it all the same color. When i asked to see a color book with samples she told me that its better to use a picture so i trusted her and picked a picture of a girl with dark brown hair with some undertones. She then died my hair JET BLACK. I clearly did not ask for black. Then she and her manager tried to convince me i was crazy and that the color was not black when it clearly was. They were so rude and offered no help in fixing it or listening to what i was saying. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CHAIN TO ANYONE! Do not go here. read more

Not going to bash VC too hard cause usually very good experience. This last time I got my haircut and asked for thinned out, leave the length as is as I was trying to grow it out a bit. End of the haircut I end up with half the length I had and a terrible fade on the back side. My message is don't get the lowest level. I visited visible changes for the first time to do something very different. I got about 8 inches of hair cut off with Nelly and she did the best job! She made me feel so comfortable with the big change and helped me learn how to keep my hair healthy and how to style short hair. This was my first time getting my color at this location and I lucked out. I asked to be paired with someone in the medium range of experience in color, but got there early and they put me with someone on the upper level. Erica Bailey did such an awesome job on my highlights I couldn't be more happy. I asked her to go lighter since my hair is jet black and she did just that. I have gotten so many compliments now my mom is planning on setting an appointment with her as well. It was more expensive but the results were worth the extra money spent and i will definitely be going back in the future ! read more

Worst experience ever. You book the appointment and are quoted one price but when you get to the register the price has doubled. I was quoted $58 and up for the color if bleach was needed and I get to the register and the color alone is $100. I can understand that may happen for longer hair, but now for a men's normal length hair is ridiculous. The color specialist tried to persuade me from the color I chose because it seemed she had not been successful with this color in the past. She brought the manager over to have me sign a waiver saying they were not responsible if the color didn't turn out correctly. At least the stylist knew what she was doing. As someone who spent their entire life in a beauty salon since my mom has owned one since before I was born, I know what customers can expect from their stylist and this experience was not it! As a parent, I pay for my teen daughters' hair cuts and have to approve anything extra based on my family's budget. Do not leave your teen or child alone with staff, even if you tell the front counter people just a hair cut. The hair stylist and hair washer will sell your child more services/products by asking if they would like to have them done. Then, your child answers yes to them. Then, Visible Changes charges the parent without asking the parent before extras are done since the parent is paying the bill! My daughter is 16 and knows better, but her ADHD gets in the way of good judgement and all the salon cares about is how much money they can squeeze out of you. This is unethical business practices and I will tell everyone I know about this and they in turn will tell more people. This will snowball and the media will be alerted. read more
