Hair dresser needs to listen to me and not to other people contacting her giving instructions about me which is exactly what happened the second-and last- time I went here. She cut about four- five inches off my hair, which she knew I would never authorize and did not realize it until I got home. This is an ongoing problem I have always had was that women demand-and very recently, I mean very angrily demanding that I cut my hair and wear my make-up the way they insist. Well she listened to people contacting her about how to cut my hair. Besides this, hairdresser also asked me leading questions that a few days later, other people were demanding to know. This hair dresser demanded that I wanted to have kids-how does she know if I do or not one way or the other-but she was downright demanding that I wanted to have kids, drilling and drilling me about getting married-all of which other people did and was real aggressive about it this last time I went. Usually what i go for is to have my hair nonchemically straightened, just a shampoo style and conditioner. If hair dressers have a problem with not cutting my hair, they need to tell me up front, and I will leave. She kept asking me why it has been so long since I have been to a hair dresser, I told her, they have a problem with my instructions, and the last hairdresser in Dallas was so angry I did not want my hair cut, he kept hitting the brush really hard against my head-so I made it real clear to her not cut my hair. When I first moved to Lafayette, I was always getting 'free hair cut offers; in the mail, to various other salons. My mail I ordered or was supposed to get never showed up in the mail box, my Backstage, none of that comes in the mail box, but I was getting those free hair cut offers. I went in front of whatever salon they were sent from and tore it up threw it in the trash outside. I also have went in and told the receptionists to take me off their lists and never contact me again. They stopped. I would not even cut my hair for a six month contract in a musical, or for any modeling job. But my suggestion to businesses, do not listen to what other people contact you and tell you to do. I called in on Saturday around 4:30 and was able to get an appointment at 5:10 p.m. I was seen by Jenny around 5:45 p.m. She washed my hair and it was a horrible experience...it felt like she wanted to pull my hair off my scalp and her nails were digging in.. it was painful.. Jenny was busy talking to her co-workers rather than being concern with my hair and how hot the water was when she was washing my hair. After she was done I was thankful that it was over. Jenny brought me over to her station, I showed her pictures of how I wanted my hair to look like, I explained to her that I had let my hair grow out to get the hair cut I wanted. I showed this girl pictures and you wont believe me when I say, it turned out nothing like I wanted or showed her in the pictures(pictures are of my hair a while back). I felt horrible when she was done and she was giving me excuses why it did not turn out as expected. For paying just for the haircut 52.00 you would expect what you pay for...correct?? wrong.. I ended up with uneven layers, face framing bangs are so horrible that I have to wear bobby pins to hold my hair in place until it grows out. This place used to be so nice and professional..now its better to go to a cheap place and you will get the same or probably better experience. I forgot to mention that I told her I was not happy with the haircut she started yelling in my face as if I'm a child. And said to me the pictures were not helpful to see the haircut I wanted,,funny thing is it was different pictures, maybe if she had been paying attention to me and not talking to her co-workers or some other lady that was complaining about her stitches.. my pictures would had been helpful. I have been getting my haircut and color done at visible changes galleria for more than two years. It has been a great experience for me after trying for years to find a place where I can get a haircut AND color without having to visit two different places to get the it right. LAURA is my hair color Doctor's knows what it needs, she knows how it will look best, she knows how to match my needs with my preferences, she knows how to treat me well and give good advices-I knew I can get a teacher discount just because she mentioned to me. She is awesome!. Now my haircut is always done by the ALWAYS nice and professional Sanaz, she is really an adviser for me even when I am afraid of trying new changes. I have always left her chair feeling great. She is located at the first spot to the left from the entrance. Visible Changes is in general a great place, never waited a lot, never was I treated with rush, yes they are very busy and booked all the time for the day. The music is nice, the people at the sinks are really nice and the products they sell are good brands, sad that they do not have Kerastase yet but still good names in the salon. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not the one, if you are looking for a place where you can have coffee and read all latest magazines without noise, this is not the place and if you want just one person to do it all for you nope! this is not the place. but give it a try...they know what they do and they get trained all the time in and out of US. read more

My first second and last visit. Saturday 3-5-2011 I had an appointment and was on time. After getting my hair washed, cute, and curld I was released very unhappy with my length it was cut. After me paying 60$ and tipping the young lady that done thw work I went home in tears and extremly upset. Showed my hair to a long time friend(over 20 years of friendship) and she was upset because she referd me. She called and demanded my hair be redone. Keep in mind this was my wedding anniversary and I stayed behind while my husband left for New Orleans for our trip. I stayed and went back to Visible changes the next morning (sunday) and was givin to another young lady that tells me she can cut my hair but not style it. I broke into tears. Grant it the chick can cut some hair I would recommend her for that anyday. The young lady put waves in my hair and I wasnt happy with the appearance of that either. NOw to sum it up I was so disappointed that I washed my hair out purchased wax styleing and spiked my hair. Needless to say I ended up paying another company to do my hair tuesday for 65$. I was told that I can go to another location to get my hair restyled. No thank you I will not step in another location. So I say thanks for nothing,but my last hair cut that cost me 60 bucks. I must preface my critique of Visible Changes by first saying that I probably deserve the treatment I get at a "salon" in the mall where I don't have any allegiance. I'm guilty of salon jumping because I can't find anyone that I like. Visible Changes takes the cake however. With the exception of the tall blonde guy, I usually get some attitude when I check in...even if I have an appointment. On my last visit, my shirt got soaked from the shampoo session. My hair stylist s(with the exception of Espy) have always been borderline rude. 45 dollars later, my hair looks exactly the same as my haircuts when I use to go to TGIF or whatever that place is called. More rudeness and general uncomfortablness upon check-out and there it is...another unpleasant experience at Visible Changes. Thanks Visible Changes. Congratulations for continuing to exploit the fact that you are in a mall and enjoy a steady flow of business. This was my last time. If you read this and you are the type of person that considers the source when reading a critique, just know that I am usually the guy that tips 20% even if I get bad service. NICOLE H. ROCKS!! I have had an idea about my hair color for a long time and have tried to have it done twice before... once in 2004 (the lady said she thought I would like her idea better and turned my hair orange- she did what she wanted without asking me first!) Then I tried again in 2008 (that lady said she didn't think I really wanted to go as dark as I said- and she also turned my streaks a little orange). Then I met NICOLE H. and thought "now there is a girl that never screws up!" So after talking with her about it for months, I finally got the courage to try again. She did EXACTLY what I wanted, no questions asked and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I will never go to anyone else again! She is definitely talented, because what I wanted didn't exactly exist- she combined 2 colors to make my base color and then put dark red highlights and my hair turned out perfect!! As if my shout out isn't enough :) I just want to mention that she also colored another stylist's hair- black with teal in it and it is flipin' awesome!! That color also had to be "created" by Nicole- so if you ever want to try something new or just plain funky, this is the girl you need to ask for!! read more

I did an appointment, that took me weeks to get, for a hair color with Arthur and hair cut with Gabriel. So, Arthur did highlights on my hair and then another lady washed my hair and retouched my roots, didn't know why she did it when I did my appointment with Arthur. Then I realized that Arthur was with another client already ... They asked me to wait for Gabriel, after 20min waiting I asked for him again and they said to wait another 10min. After 45min later I decided to go home with my wet hair and on my way out I saw Gabriel with another client he was drying her hair. They didn't respect my appointment at all. The cashier asked me how my service was and I said awful, he didnt ask why, and charged me for $170. When my hair got dry my highlights had this orange yellowish others where like ashy and my roots had black patches, so I assume that the lady who did my retouch didn't distribute evenly the color. I have read other comments on how this place booked appointments tightly and how they don't check the color after doing it so it's all true, its a shame 'cause they could do a really good job if they change that and respect clients time and appointments. read more

We just came back from this visible changes in the Galleria. My wife wanted to get some color done and a little trim. I specifically asked for somebody who spoke Russian, so we wouldn't get any surprises. The Russian speaking stylist only gave her a haircut, there were 3 different people that worked on her head... Now, 70 dollars for a trim, excuse my ignorance, but I think 70 bucks for a haircut is a little pricey...especially for a national chain like visible changes. Anyway, the price of the color and the hair cut did not bother me that much, we were expecting the price of both, haircut and color to be around the 150's. What really made me mad was that they never told her the price of anything, and they just performed services on her without letting her know how much extra money everything would be. 10 dollars for conditioner?!?! 34 dollars for some random hair treatment?!?! Well, there are the surprises I was looking to avoid. We were trying this place to become regulars, but after this abuse, we will not come close to it ever again....we feel very disappointed and we will not recommend this place to anybody we care about. read more

I am so happy with my colorist Chemeka. I have been going to her for a few months now to maintain my deep red hair color. Before going to her I had over the years had a few people tell me it was unachievable to get the color I wanted without completely bleaching my whole head and damaging it. A little background on my hair. I spent several years box dying it dark, dark brown and heat styling with a straightener. I have a lot of hair and its thick. There wasn't much I could do I was told to get the red I wanted. Well Chemeka helped me slowly over about two months get it to the red I wanted without damaging it. I was worried in the beginning about it coming out uneven because of my new growth and dark ends and all the dyes I've used on my hair in the past but she knew exactly what she was doing so I felt comfortable with her. It is so important to trust somebody with your hair! There's a lot of picky people out there and I am one of them. I'm glad to have finally found someone I can trust with my hair. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking to have their hair colored! read more

I would 100% recommend this salon!!!!! Once you get their they check you in and have an open space to feel at home... The woman who did my haircut was amazing! She calls you and takes you to the shampoo and conditioner station which is in the back and automatically asked what I was doing way before washing my hair once that happen she took me to her station and brushed my hair and as well before she even cut my hair she asked again what I wanted just to be sure once I told her where I wanted my hair cut to be at she began her process and while she's doing what she has to do she really gets to know you and your hair and it's feels really good knowing that amazing people like her get to work in an industry where she meets all these types of personalities!!! I have only wonderful things to say about Visible Changes and especially my colorist, Chemeka Bellvin. I have been going to her for the last 6 years and I LOVE her! She is so talented and always knows the best color for the season and my skin tone, and she's always honest when I want to take a detour and try something new. Last year I decided to experiment with a gorgeous red she picked out for me and it was awesome! I had so many compliments from family, colleagues and even strangers. She just hooked me up for the summer with golden highlights and I love them! My hubby can't help but stare at me and smile. I have been getting blonde highlights in my hair now for 10 years, and have mostly good but also some bad experiences. I use to think blonde highlights should be super simple and something any colorist could do, not quite. I've had it come out yellow & another time not show up at all. After moving back to Houston from college, I really needed to find a new colorist. Now that I found Ambra at VC I don't plan on going anywhere else! She has been doing my hair for 1.5 years now, and I am always very satisfied with the end result! Not to mention she truly cares about her clients . I have recommended her to friends and family. I contacted this store 1 1/2 hours before close, and I was told slots were still available and that they were open till 7pm. Their manager, Ellie, was not the most pleasant person to speak with upon arrival. She promptly informed me there were no slots available for a walk in. I compromised with her, giving my information just in case something opened up, and took a seat in the waiting area. I heard at least two names get called, the discarded after a no-show. One gentleman asked me if I was under another name and asked the manager if I was available to take. I don't usually like change but I was wanting something different for the summer and was pretty nervous, Markus sat down with me and went over the process and recommended some great highlights for my personal style. I left the salon feeling pretty brand new with some awesome products to keep up the style which was different but not to flashy(exactly what I wanted). If I have a suggestion / idea for a cut, she always delivers. Teresa, also, will always offer other ideas if she thinks my ideas wouldn't be a good look for me, I am completely comfortable with Teresa in control of my hair; I am excited knowing that I will walk away looking my best. Hard to get an appointment here especially on the weekends (only day I have available to get a haircut). I have been coming in every weekend for the past year or two. Ok experience when you find someone. Staff takes days off without notifying regular clients ahead of time. Disconnect between people setting appointments and the hair stylists. No one cares if you are able to get a haircut or not and no one will go out of the way to make sure they can squeeze you in even if you are a regular. Only thing staff here cares about is if they get to go home on time. No sense of professional pride what so ever. I'm seriously considering changing my hair salon. read more

So I had been thinking about getting my hair highlighted for a while. I was on the fence about it and didn't really know where to begin since I've never dyed my hair or anything but visible changes and Amanda treated me right!! I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted and AMANDA did an outstanding job. She knows her stuff and was able to answer all of my questions and totally put me at ease. Meta is the best hair stylist at Visible Cahnges. She gave my hair a huge makeover, from the haircut to the scalp treatment that she recommended. I had a dry itchly scalp and she recommended a treatment and from the first time I could feel a big difference in my scalp, felt clean and unclogged. It took me a while to try different artists but finally found the perfect one and she is Meta. She takes care of her customers listens to what you want and gives recommendations that are always helpful. She will never cut too much hair unless you ask for it and you will always feel happy fresh and beautiful when you leave the salon. read more
