We got a message saying the night we booked did not look so good so we pushed it to the next night. The weather was better for seeing and we had a great time. You let them know what hotel you are at and they will tell you want time that they are picking you up. They take you to two locations to see the aurora and teach you how to setup your camera or phone. This is very helpful as we never used the night functions on the camera or phone before and to get the best shots you need to have the correct settings. They provide a tripod if you do not have one. They also take a group shot of your party if you want so you have professional photos with your group with the aurora in the background. They also provide some snacks and hot drinks. They had the van running while we took photos for those who wanted to go warm up as the temperature was 23 degrees. Definitely worth it!!

They have information on different places all over the state and interesting displays on Alaskan things like the northern lights, midnight sun and other things. For those with a national park passport, you can get a passport stamp here for the APLC and the one for Lake Clark NP. This place is conveniently located in downtown Anchorage across from the log cabin visitors center. I'd recommend checking this place out.

The walrus were spectacular and our pilot walked us out to the cliffs where we could see them popping in and out of the water rolling their giant bodies up on the beach. Located in the main area of the park in Brooks Camp, Brooks Lodge also offers meals for anyone visiting the park. I was expecting just average food considering it was buffet style, but the flavor was great. Staff managed the bar well, routinely switching out trays to ensure everything stayed appropriate temperature. There was also a comfortable sitting area around the fire pit along with a small bar. Clean bathrooms, always a positive. If you can book a room here, enjoy your stay. Otherwise, stop by for lunch. The food is tasty.

The trip would have been worth it for the flight alone. Sloan was great; took his time explaining all the sights and landed that thing smooth as silk. We were scheduled for the Brooks Fall trip, but got fogged out of that one. The management at Trail Ridge was excellent in getting us changed to our Crescent Lake trip instead. Don't feel like we missed a thing in the switch. Highly recommend.
