I drove a Sienna minivan and my car went over the parking line, luckily the lot was fairly empty so I didn't feel so bad about taking up the extra space. They offer typical Cantonese style breakfasts. It's a self serve operation here. You order via app, kiosk or through a person and you find a seat and wait for your number to be called. Then you just pick up your tray when your food is ready, and bring it back to your table. When you're done eating, bring your tray to the to the counter for them to clean up. I loved the various food statues located throughout the restaurant, they are so cute and make for great photo ops! My girlfriends and I got essentially the same breakfast combos with the exception of different porridge ingredients. I opted for breakfast combo #3, which included porridge, rice roll, and a drink (I got hot ying yang tea). Iced drinks are $1 extra. The food here is tasty and best of all is reasonably priced! I love that they have porridge toppings that you can put on. The roasted peanuts were so so good! If I could say anything negative about this place it would be their regular menu needs reformatting. Honestly their regular menu was really confusing to understand. I thought maybe it was just me, but my friend also expressed her frustration with trying to understand the menu. Luckily the employee came by and showed us the breakfast special menu, which was exactly what we were wanting to order and so much easier to understand. I definitely want to bring my family here to try more of the menu as I know they will enjoy it as much as I did!

I wanted to try Chan Kee in Monrovia but they closed down before I got the chance to. My friend who's had CK before said they've changed their menu and it was now pretty overwhelming. We ordered a congee with a side of saucy rice noodle rolls and a wonton beef stew noodle soup to share. You basically order the base (congee or noodle) then add the options for an extra charge. Each entree/side/drink combo came about to nearly $20. The rice noodles and wonton noodles were pretty good. They give alot of congee but taste was just okay. Decor was cute. Food didn't take too long to come out considering there was only one person working and it was also a random Monday afternoon. Overall, just okay and I feel like I could get tastier food for better prices in the mpk/sg/alhambra area.

The Short Rib chilaquiles are very tasty, and the flavors complemented each other so well. I would definitely get this again. It was a somewhat large plate so easily shareable between 2! My mom ordered the steak & eggs, and she thought it was very filling and tasty. A little plain though but to be expected with a steak and eggs, she was expecting a thicker cut.

At that point, we figured we'd go inside and see what was going on. Plot twist: we asked about the wait and were seated almost immediately. So I'm still not entirely sure what adventure that Yelp waitlist was taking us on. The guy at the front wasn't exactly serving warm welcomes either. When we asked about the wait, he barely looked up or acknowledged us. Not the greatest first impression, but thankfully things improved from there. Once we were seated, though, the experience definitely improved. Our waiter, Thaer, was very nice, polite, and attentive, and provided great service throughout our meal. I ordered the Spanish omelet, and my partner ordered the Simple Classic breakfast . The food was solid and we both enjoyed our meals. Overall, despite the confusing Yelp waitlist and somewhat unfriendly greeting at the front, we had a good experience. Good food and great service from Thaer!

We ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast and the Santa Barbara Benedict. The Benedict was the standout--watching the rich, runny yolk flow out as you cut into the egg made it even more satisfying, and every bite was flavorful. For the French toast, I was expecting slices of cheesecake on top, but instead it came with a whipped cheesecake frosting that had a light, creamy texture. It wasn't what I expected, but it was just as delicious and paired perfectly with the strawberries. The service was excellent. Our server checked on us several times, refilled our water without us asking, and made sure we had everything we needed. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and both are lovely. On a warm August day in Southern California, the patio was definitely the more popular choice. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

The customer service, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was being charged $2 for a bottle of water. If I'm already spending $15-20 per entrée, I don't think complimentary water is an unreasonable expectation. It started the meal off on the wrong foot, but I was there with my family and wanted to enjoy our breakfast. Our waiter, Mauro, came across as cold and uninterested from the start. He never checked back on our table after taking our order and delivering our food, so we didn't have the opportunity to ask for anything we needed (refills, etc) or see how the meal was going. While the food itself was enjoyable, the lack of attentive service made the overall experience disappointing.

Unfortunately the room had some plumbing issues and the bathroom was a little rundown in my opinion (on top of the loud noise coming from downstairs) but I want to compliment the friendly staff overall in this review. Something that affected my stay was the pool situation. I was shocked when I discovered how small the pool area is for such a nice big hotel overall. There wasn't enough lounge chairs or anywhere to sit in general. Everyone was playing their own music loud, some louder than others, a bunch of kids splashing everywhere and I was surprised by this since I was thinking this would be a calm, peaceful resort setting. I was honestly surprised that there was no security at the time to enforce anything. Overall I tried to make the best of the circumstances but I will never return to this pool unfortunately. This hotel in general does have great views though. Once again, this review is mainly to compliment, Michael because he made this not so pleasant experience, a better one because of his kindness and accommodations so thank you Michael
