Returned to this location today after over a year of avoiding it due to poor service. New management makes a huge difference. Service and food were excellent. We used to order from them once a week. We always get the 20 in double dough with two or three meat choices. Since the new management everything has been horrible. They're new idea of double dough is just putting extra dough around the edges of the pizza. While the inside of it is still super super thin. They charge you for double though despite not giving it to you. Also whatever cheese they use is different because now it coagulates differently and there's so much more grease. On the phone I asked him to pie cut it three times when I got there to pick it up hour and a half later it was cut in little squares. I checked before I left and they offer to remake it in deliver it it was great but then I had to tip the driver. They also offered me two 2 liter bottles of pop for free 1 at the time of pickup and one with my delivered Pizza. read more

My girlfriend and I just moved recently to Plainfield and we loved the convenience of Vita Bella as its right across the street. We had ordered from here twice before and thought it was good thin crust pizza. However, this time we got our pizza delivered rather than pickup, only to find that someone had eaten 2 pieces and took a bite out of it! We called the restaurant immediately as the driver had already left. She sent us a new pizza in a little over an hour in trade of our bitten pizza. It was awkward giving the pizza back to the driver as we were not sure if he was the pizza eater. It's going to take more than a returned pizza an hour later for us to return. I've had enough with this place. I've worked at a pizza place myself. Never was it this bad. I have had enough with their shenanigans for long enough. We order all the time at work or at home and there's always something. It took one full hour from when it was out for delivery to the time we actually got the food. Was burnt and cold. Not the first time that happened. Most of it wasn't even delivered. We had to run out to the driver to get more of it but it still wasn't complete. They gave me a credit for the rest but I don't care to get it. There have been numerous times where we have gotten food where it was cold or burnt and this time it was both. I am obsessed with their calzones and I keep ordering them hoping that they are actually good. I'm done though. I can't even! I've called twice today with this order and before about other issues and it keeps happening. Screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me. This is probably the most inconsistent place from which I have ever ordered. You never know what you're going to get when it comes to quality and our most recent order will most certainly be our last! We ordered a small cheese pizza, an extra large 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 mushroom and onion, and an order of bread sticks on July 7th. We drove roughly 15 minutes to pick up the order and made the mistake of not checking inside the boxes until we got home. Small pizza and breadsticks were okay, but the extra large was 1/2 sausage and 1/2 mushroom. Nobody in my house will eat sausage, so I called and talked to a manager about the mixup. Barely got an apology and had to drive all the way back to exchange for the correct pizza. No offer to deliver, discount...nothing!! Fine. I send my daughter to do the exchange, and she returns with the correct pizza, however, it is obviously the one that was either returned or MIA when we first came for our order. It looked like it was dropped, sat around for hours and was dry and cold! How insulting to have this place give us this crap instead of at least remaking it!! I've included a photo of the pizza we were sent home with on our 2nd trip! My husband had to call again and discuss this ridiculousness for over 10 minutes before they finally refunded our credit card! We had a fantastic lunch yesterday. The bread sticks were amazing, smothered in butter and garlic. We scored on 1/2 price wine, yum. The pizza was 1/2 cheese 1/2 veggie. I REALLY don't want to give them a poor review because their food is fantastic, but they have some major staffing issues. Our last few orders have been extremely late and tonight's order never arrived. We actually had to drive to the store, which had a line wrapped around it with angry customers wondering where their orders are, only to find out that they could give us a little something for our trouble but that "something" was cold pizza. It was inedible and ended up in the trash. We will be seeking a refund in the morning . No one is answering phones so that's why people are driving up. We even resorted to calling their other location to find out what was happening and why we couldn't contact that store. That location said they knew that the store we ordered from is always understaffed. Not good. They NEED to address their staffing issue. I can't imagine the amount of business they're losing over this. Vita Bella: hire people. You have a great product, but you cannot continue on like this. This little hole in the wall pizza place is a local favorite. Just visited with family and we sat in a booth. From what was initially seen, very laid back environment. Television playing sports in the dining room, seems a bit misplaced. Nonetheless i didn't mind it, we started off with a bruschetta, toasted bread with a load of balsamic glaze.. ehh not your true bruschetta but it was okay. Used to be our go to pizza for 10+ years. Unfortunately the service has gone down tremendously. Food is still good, however every time we order tirramisu it comes frozen... Seriously, every time... Then the past 3 orders : order one came 75 min past delivery time, order two wasn't ready for another 45 min after we were told to to pick up, order three 35 min past delivery time. I understand that maybe your short staffed, but if thats the case limit your orders. My favorite pizza spot in the area! Always good, even reheated in the microwave. Our pizzas are always cooked perfectly, taste delicious, and our order is always correct. I only eat veggies on my pizza and my husband only eats meat; we've never had a mixed up half and half (thin crust only for me) pizza. The best cheese to sauce to bread ratio. Online ordering has a very good feature where you can see that the food is being prepped and/or on its way for delivery, so that's a nice bonus! I NEVER do delivery but today I decided I would for a change. The estimated delivery time was 59-69 minutes, and the pizza arrived in 63. That's spot on! I went with the white pizza (but swapped out roasted peppers for ricotta) and am yet again amazed with the caliber of their product. I'm normally not a thin crust guy but had to give it a shot, and they've masted thin, double dough, pan, and stuffed! I ate a lot of bad pizza in this town before coming across this slice of heaven (pun intended) and every crap pizza from anywhere else made it worthwhile! Next up, Caprese salad. The mozzarella was great, the balsamic dressing good, and greens seemed fresh. Tomatoes were a little mushy but I'm really nitpicking to even bring that up. read more

The perfect amount of cheese accompanied by generous amounts of toppings (in this case, sausage and roasted red pepper). They have a good pizza sauce it could use more garlic,oregano to liven it up but not bad. I need to try a calzone next time. When my girl moved out to Plainfield - I abandoned hope of any good Italian food in her neighborhood. Call me a snobby city guy - but Plainfield is not synonymous with Italian cuisine. The first time she took me to Vita Bella - I was impressed: good beef - mellow atmosphere. The service was very good. They didn't honor the coupon they sent in the mail - but they gave her another one for our next visit. The second time we went - the food was still very good. The service was cosi-cosi. She brought the bread - but not the oil. I was trying to remember if they had oil the first time. I can't understand bread without oil - but whatever. Then we had them cater our Labor Day event. We got a tub of mostaccioli. We got a tub full of beef. We got a tub full of chicken. We got a tub full of salad. We got a tub full of garlic bread and one full of Italian bread.(I am kind of tubby so that all worked for me - well maybe not the salad.) Did I mention the healthy helping of giardiniera and a pan of sweet peppers? I not only got enough food to feed a small army (or me and four of my buddies) but the quality of the food was pretty stellar. We have all been to a party or an event catered in this style - this was the best one I have ever been to. This food was amazing. People were commenting on it as they shoveled it in. I over ordered - but have no trouble dining on left-overs of this food. Here's the punch line. The price was so reasonable that I felt like I was getting the deal of the year. I truly feel I got the best value for my hard earned dollar and will be back time and time again. Vita Bella has become a staple in our family....with a catch. I'm traditionally a sausage and cheese kinda girl so that's what I get on the regular. We've dined in and taken out and had delivery. Our delivery service is always excellent. But our dine in service hasn't been the best experience. I've taken my cousin there a couple of times because she really likes eating at places so the last time we went was kind of the deciding factor that we won't dine there anymore. There's one lady who has kind of been standoffish to me whenever I've been there. She is pleasant enough to take your order and she's always been correct with our orders, just not the most friendly. Now on to the pizza. Oh em gee. The thin crust is my favorite. The sauce is delicious, a little on the sweeter side and there is always plenty of cheese and the crust is always crispy to perfection. It's even great cold. That's a real complement for me, for pizza, because I don't normally like left over cold pizza. I can't remember the last time I had their deep dish pizza but I don't know if I'd want to try it again knowing how good the thin crust pizza is! Also if you want a healthier option...their fried zucchini sticks are good dipped in ranch dressing as well! ;) read more

Not a good delivery experience. The photos speak for themselves. I don't know what training the pizza maker and pizza cutter received, but they need more training. The pizza was whole inch smaller than what we ordered, the half was more like a third, the ingredients were thrown on and the pieces were so different in size it almost seemed intentional. Watch out for shady charges. They don't always follow menu prices. We ordered half specialty and half 2 ingredients and they not only wanted to charge the full specialty pizza price but tried to charge additional cost for the other 1/2 with 2 ingredients. The price ended up $5 higher than it should have been. We backed out of the order and left. Sad because the pizzas pretty good, but they piss you off so much with order screwups that it is just not worth it. Go elsewhere. read more

I have ordered from this restaurant for the past 7 years. Their service has always been stellar, their delivery timely and their product excellent. That is until today. I was trying to order delivery for another family for 6 o'clock and was inquiring about the # of people fed by each order. The person on the other line was getting annoyed and frustrated with my questions, but he answered them as best he could. While I appreciate his explanations, I found his tone and lectures about ordering a day in advance condescending and unacceptable. Stay away from this pizza place! First of all, the slogan "voted the BEST pizza in Plainfield" must have been by their family members. Pizza was ordered on our first experience and was truly disappointing. Pizza should NOT be sweet, it should have an Italian spice taste. The sauce was miserable. On the second visit, ordered the Half chicken dinner, only to get home and find that I got a half pound of SHRIMP. Called to complain, was told they would deliver to me in 20 minutes. One hour later the driver arrived with my BURNT CHICKEN DINNER...oh yum. I waited an hour to get burnt chicken and burnt french fries! BOTH experiences here were bad, so I find it hard to believe that this place is still around. Hungry and looking for a delicious meal, go somewhere else.
