Est. 1964- A staple of Studio City, Vitello's started out as an Italian Sub Shop, by Sal Vitello. In 1977, two Sicilian brothers took over, added a full Italian menu and kept the name. In 2001, Robert Blake brought international notoriety to Vitello's, (if you don't know the story, look it up) and the rest is history. We started off with the Meatballs and Garlic Bread. The sauce was excellent - tasty dish. Next up was the Carbonara with Poached Egg , Shallots and Pancetta. One of the best Carbonara dishes I've ever had. It was light , perfectly seasoned and filled with flavor from the egg yolk and Pancetta. An excellent dish. Also delicious is the Peppercorn Crusted Halibut with Saffron Risotto and Asparagus. The fish was tender and flaky, and the Risotto was cooked perfectly. What a great meal (We also enjoyed watching "Gone with the Wind" on the bar TV). The service was very good, but Vitello's adds a 3.5% "Quality of Life/Kitchen Appreciation" fee to each bill. I asked my server to remove the fee and they said that the charge was 'ridiculous' and they never add it to their checks - thank goodness! Not much to look at, but everything else about this place was top notch. The service was personal and excellent, with our service staying on top of everything we needed. The food selected, by our table of five, was a good cross-section of what was offered, and everything was delicious. I personally had the Stromboli and found it not only scrumptious, but filling, as I brought half of it home for lunch the next day. Great place, great prices and great service. Easy parking, beautiful space inside & out, cashless, and good service. The brunch menu is small, but there are delicious lunch options until 4 PM. We had the Lemon Ricotta Waffle, Veggie Omelette, and Breakfast Lasagna. The kitchen forgot the cheese in the omelette, the waffle presentation was sad, and the lasagna was a bit cold in the middle. Excellent Experience !! There were 4 of us in total (there was suppose to be originally 6 of us), and we sat in the private room just off the hostess desk. Below, based on a rating of 1-10, with 10 being best, we would rate the food as follows: * Pork chop - 9 * Mandarin avocado salad - 9 * Garlic knots - 9 * Wild mushroom pasta - 8 * Chicken piccata - 9 * Sweet potato fries - 8 * Tiamisu french toast - 5 A special shoutout to "Rina" (not sure of spelling); she was the Manager and Hostess during our visit yesterday. She was extraordinarily helpful and informative. She was kind enough to give us a quick tour of their hidden "speak - easy" dining, bar and entertainment areas. We will defInitely back to enjoy their Martini Lounge. Interesting Note: AFTER we were seated, my husband in a by-the-way quiet mention, that this was the restaurant that Robert Blake {"Baretta") and his wife were diners, and where just outside the restaurant, Blake shot and killed his wife. However, the server was inattentive, but what was most disappointing was a "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" of 3.5% added to the bill which was never discussed or mentioned anywhere during the dining experience until receiving the bill. This is a ridiculous fee because the act of buying the food is appreciating the kitchen. It is just another way a restaurant is dishonestly trying to extract more money from its customers with fees. Here is a suggestion; raise your food prices 3.5% to better pay your staff instead of dishonestly adding the price increase as a hidden fee at the end artificially making the menu prices appear lower. Whoever came up with this idea is a moron because now I do not want to come back because of this poor business practice whereas I would have come back had this not been done. read more

The barbecue chicken pizza was okay flavor wise but it was undercooked and the crust was very doughy. The seafood pasta was great in flavor wise but the clams were obviously not fresh (as was most of the food in general). The fries were good. The food is not good, it is overprized and the manager a lady has so much attitude. I asked for a plate on the menu and it was a very small amount and she replied that they don't serve American size dishes in her restaurant. IDK what was wrong with that lady but she is definitely no a person that knows how to deal with the clients. Also this is an Italian restaurant and they did not even bring you some bread, I asked for it and they wanted to charge for bread. For sure never coming back here and do your self a favor and find a better place than this one. read more

How have I not reviewed Vitello's until now?! I'm the worst! Vitello's is wonderful in every way. They staff is attentive and friendly, the food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is wonderful. They just redecorated and now all tables are booths, which I love! Lol, I'm still processing the fabric choice though... This is the same location as The Velvet Martini Lounge, which we took a tour of upstairs. Stopped in randomly because it looked potentially good. Ordered a variety of small plates and each of them ranged from not good to borderline inedible. it would be mildly less frustrating if the prices reflected the quality but it was not inexpensive. Like how do you ruin a caprese salad or french fries?!! (by using cheap produce and frozen fries apparently) The only reason it's not one star is because the waitress and hostess were friendly and the outdoor seating was pleasant. We've been coming here for years. And we can go through the whole menu and you won't be disappointed. So just go. That being said, they took the Pork Chop grilled in espresso rub and replaced it with a Pork Chop with rustic tomato wine reduction and THAT wasn't a good move. BUT THEN... they added the option for the grilled in espresso rub back so you get an option of either or - don't know why you would get the wine reduction and if you do - you're not doing yourself a favor. Okay, here are 'our' top favorites: Ribeye Steak (of course) Pork Chop grilled in espresso rub (thank God it's back!) Spaghetti & Meatballs Tuscan Salmon (for those non meat-eaters) Capelinni ala checca Cacio e Pepe If you're in the mood for pizza you won't go wrong. Also - really good vegan menu for those vegans!!! A group of 15 of us went here during the week for a business dinner. They put us inside next to the open doors to the patio. We had a select menu. The arancini balls were yummy and easy to eat. The ceasar salad was delicious. I enjoyed the cace e Pepe and that was yummy. read more

I haven't been here since Covid and we had to sit outside:(. However, last night I finally made my way into the newly renovated restaurant to celebrate one of my dearest friends birthdays!!! Wow!!!! I loved the updated modern look. Very sleek, clean & roomy!!! Good ambiance, background music was not noticeable, acoustics were good! Our server Josue was spot on. Very professional and friendly. He was very attentive and helpful with suggestions on the menu. The birthday girl ordered a skinny margarita on the rocks with salt, Caesar salad, chicken parmigiana, and the fried calamari/shrimp. I ordered a regular margarita on the rocks, artisan bread for table, garlic bread, house salad and eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti 3/5 stars. (3 medium size slices of eggplant lightly breaded topped with mozzarella, marinara sauce. Tasty and light but I make a mean one at home and my red sauce kicks ass!!!! Just sayin... The others in our party ordered:Chicken Piccata, steak with asparagus, chicken parm vegan style. Everything came out at the same time and was well received:) Ourbirthday girl was presented with a cannoli with 1 candle. My mom, sister, boyfriend, and I came here for a nice birthday dinner for my sister. While some of the food was good (carbonara, ravioli), the mushroom pasta gave my mom and my boyfriend food poisoning. They were the only two that had any, and both ended up with horrible diarrhea. It's such a bummer, because I really wanted to like this restaurant since we just moved to the area. Makes me wonder if anything else on their menu is a biohazard. read more

Last night, April 8, 2025, my wife and I had dinner at your establishment. First off, let me say we love Vitello's! We've dined in your fine restaurant often, just the two of us or with friends. That's why last night we decided to celebrate our 10th anniversary there. Usually, our service is top-notch, but last night, Collin was less than stellar. He seemed uninterested and was not very engaging. He did do the bare minimum (take our order and bring our order), but the bare minimum is not what we've come to expect from Vitello's. I work at a high-end steak house and have years of experience dealing with customers. Last night was a letdown for me and my wife. The server has so much power, making a celebratory evening even more special or slightly disappointing. The two bright spots were Jorge, who was delightful and engaging. And, of course, the food. I'm not going to pick apart the problems that I had. It's definitely not what it used to be. I will definitely be back here. The calamari was soooo good and so was the ravioli! I love a good indoor/outdoor setting. We sat outside and it was really cute but I loved the decor inside. Love the black paint and brick walls. We saw they have live music nights and I believe comedian nights so we'd definitely like to come back for one of those nights. All of the waiters were very nice and attentive. Especially George I believe his name was. Really great. And the dessert was delicious too. read more

Beautiful Italian restaurant. Traditional pizza, pasta, and meat menu that is served in a cozy, quaint atmosphere! Dinner on a Wednesday night at 7.30 without reservations. Told that there would be a 15 minute wait to sit indoors. Outdoors was 52 degrees so we preferred to wait. 10 minutes later they seated us at a corner table Someone came by and dropped water (no ice) at our table and the server came by a few minutes later to ask if we wanted to order drinks. Me and my partner order a glass of Chianti each. The drinks were back to us in 5 minutes. The Chianti was house Chianti ($12/glass) and tasted just as it should. It paired well with my partner's vegetarian dish as well as my clam linguine. After receiving our drinks we placed orders for food. I got the clam linguine and my partner got the autumn vegetarian pasta. The clam linguine was served in a deep bowl and garlic sauce, thin pasta noodles, and clams covering the top of the bowl. They didn't have any clams mixed in with the pasta so I might have felt it was light on meat, but tbh not that hungry so I could barely finish what they had provided. The linguine was garlicky, noodles cooked through, and the wine paired well with my dish. Partner had something vegetarian with pasta, roma tomatoes (sliced), and some more veggies on it. I didn't hear any complaints from them as they had finished their bowl by the time dinner was over. We got one last glass of Chianti and split it between us after our entrees were cleared. They offered delicious sounding dessert but both of us were bursting at the seams so we turned down dessert which is a sin at an Italian restaurant on date night.... While there was a 3% added service charge, it didn't take away from the experience, both of us tipped well and we left full, in a romantic mood, and satisfied with the overall experience read more

I ordered the chicken Parm and it's wonderful that they have called vegan and gluten-free but I forgot to say the gluten-free and they Russ accommodated and got me a gluten-free version. I have been here once before and I like the upgrades they made since then. The seats are new and look shiny/new. The server was nice and happy. The manager Matt was super nice and personable to us coming in and came to check on us a couple times. They were cognizant that I was on a date and moved a group that was in close proximity to us a little further down. It was a nice touch and we didnt ask for that. The restaurant itself is a bit small but it is also cozy and intimate. For sure felt a little more upscale than a random restaurant you decided to drop in at. Food was good. None of the main dishes have me clamoring to go back, BUT, the pistachio gelato was friggin delicious. Idk where they source their Gelato but it made the visit. I usually go to martini lounge upstairs and honestly its the better part of the venue. The prices downstairs are that of a much nicer venue. Main entrees run from 32-50, I got out of there about $200 later, had an appetizer, bottle of wine, two entrees, and one dessert for reference. Not terrible. The place could REALLY benefit with some complimentary italian bread or crustinis for the tables. Just to bump them up into that upper echelon. read more

I'm a fan! Came here for brunch this past Saturday and we all had a great experience. It was my first time dining at Vitello's, though I had been to The Rendition Room once before. The menu has a lot of excellent options to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable. In terms of decor and ambience, both are on point. Service was quick and friendly. To eat, I ordered a bowl of minestrone ($9) and the French Toast ($12). I thought the minestrone was top notch. As far as the French Toast goes, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of fresh berries that were served on top of it. Also, the real maple syrup was delicious. The French Toast itself tasted a little burnt, but it was still good. I will likely order this dish again next time. read more

The one thing they're consistent with is their attitude problem - whether Vitello's, Rendition Room, Velvet Martini Lounge - they are all full of poor customer service and any of the good servers, they get rid of unfortunately. The food is subpar and be careful they sneak in hidden fees!!! I'm not one to write many reviews, especially bad ones, but based on a multitude of poor experiences, I've written this place off and advise you to as well. Bummer.. the line at Aroma Cafe was around the block and we had a choice to make. Patiently wait in line for service and food we knew we loved or try out a new spot with a lot of empty seats. ... we weren't patient and paid the price. The elderly man who is in charge of seating is stressed out and rude. He had the whole section of comfortable seating blocked of in the front of the restaurant because it was reserved. Um okay we will sit at the wobbly table no problem. But we were there over am hour and guess what? Nobody ever sat in the reservation area. Even went shopping after we ate and walked back and two hours later no one is sitting in the so called reserved area. The food reminds me of Italian cafeteria food. So disappointing. The fettuccine had zero flavor and the Italian sausage was gross. I'm trying not to over react lol but I'm hangry because I didn't get anything to eat yet.. the lasagna was super tomato paste tasting and margarita pizza was just okay.. nothing special and left me wishing that I had just walked up a little bit further to LBK pizza and got something delicious. On top of everything they forgot my juice and did I mention the grumpy elderly man walking around? My advice, be patient and wait for quality food and service. read more

We originally drove out to try the Rendition Room out but found out that it was reservation only, and was already booked up. I like Italian, so didn't mind that we had to eat in Vitello's instead. The service and ambiance were nice and chill. Although the food was cooked well, it was rather bland in taste. We started with the meatballs and the sauce didn't have any punch or strong flavor to it. I had the carbonara and the sauce was very thin, and I could barely taste the pancetta. The desserts were decent. We ordered three different ones and sampled each one of them. The least favorite was the flourless chocolate cake, with the banana cake being the victor.
