A mohs procedure removed the cancer and Dr. Lin put my eye back together. It is amazing how in one week my eye looked great. However, I received a call just 30 minutes before my appointment informing me it was canceled. The explanation given was that there was no pre-authorization on file, even though a Blue Shield PPO does not require it. I was also told the doctor does not perform this type of evaluation, despite my appointment being for a possible detached retina and concerns related to an existing condition. Overall, this experience showed a lack of communication and consideration for patients' time and expenses, and it was very disappointing.

I was told my next, immediate stop was to a retina specialist and Retina Consultants of Southern California was referred and contacted. Dr. Chow met me the next day (on a Saturday) for evaluation and surgery. Those initial days were a whirlwind of shock, pain, and fear. Dr. Chow was the absolute anchor that held it all together for us. He was professional in every way, went above and beyond, and is just the most wonderful human. Over the next few months and procedures, sight was restored. And, over the past year, normal eye pressure and full vision recovery has been reached.
