Ok so I always thought this place was a local restaurant but I had to do some research after I saw some people in my hotel wearing Viva Chicken shirts. I will still claim it's not a chain as this location is the only one west of the Mississippi River. Anyway, this place offers rotisserie chicken that has Peruvian spices and some fantastic dipping sauces for the chicken. I got the quarter chicken (all white meat) with corn salad and green beans. I signed up for their loyalty program and received a free passion fruit drink. The corn salad has corn, tomatoes, onions, and another kind of bean with some cheese. It was rather tasty and I would recommend. The green beans are cooked with some spices that make them very delicious. As I mentioned they also have sauces to dip the chicken into. They have three different kinds. A mild yellow one (which is bland), a hot red one (has good heat but low on flavor) , and my favorite the middle green one (this one has the right amount of heat as well as a great blend of flavors!!) Viva chicken for surely puts the viva into its chicken, the flavors were so lively our whole group who was dining nearly shed a tear. We were passing through St. George when I saw Viva Chickens menu. Needing a healthy meal after a weekend of eating dirt in Moab, Viva Chicken seemed too good to be true. Extremely healthy options, for a reasonable price, and served to you quickly? I'm not sure I've ever experienced such a thing. However, upon arriving, I discovered dreams do come true. I got a 1/4 chicken with two sides, and everything was wildly flavorful without leaving me feeling heavy and gross afterwards. I also have to mention, the staff were insanely nice. Everyone answered questions and seemed like they were in the best. Long story short-if you are passing through St. George you should eat here. Been here twice now, mildly disappointed the first time. Today I got the fried rice and it was inedible. I'm an extremely NOT picky eater, kind of the Dad that help finish everyone else's plate, but I don't know if someone got the ratios wrong and put in 6x the ginger and red onion/shallot and could only handle like 6 bites. I've had Peruvian Chowfa before and loved it and this was absolutely nothing like that. Wife was very happy with her salad. Wow I wish I had a Viva Chicken near my house! This is a walk up and order situation but the food is outstanding and the service was excellent too. Everything came out fast and hot while tasting super flavorful! I loved the medium and mild sauces drizzled over the chicken which wasn't dry at all. I came here after a hike for some lunch and left pleasantly surprised. It hit the spot no questions asked! This is a busy spot and it was bustling on weekday afternoon. There was a short line but it moved pretty quickly. When I got to the register, the gentleman (I think he was the manager?!) asked me if I'd ever been there before. When I replied no, he told me about their rotisserie Peruvian chicken and recommended the 1/2 chicken combo. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with canary beans, plantains, and an Herbal limeade. The limeade was super refreshing and perfect for the hot weather. That chicken, though! Talk about moist and delicious! Roasted to perfection and seasoned just perfectly. It was melting in my mouth with each and every bite. The plantains were dynamite as well. So crispy and fragrant. The sauces were amazing! The chicken didn't need any sauces to be honest, but the sauces just elevated the taste even more. I loved both the green and yellow sauce as they both had a distinctly different flavor. The only thing that didn't pass the vibe check were the beans. They were bland and I wouldn't get them again. Luckily, they have other side options to choose from for next time. I've gotta say, the service was top tier. Everyone from the manager to the staff members that I encountered were so helped and courteous. My family and I were doing a road trip to Zion National Park from Las Vegas. Of course I had to find something good to eat a long the way, lol. After some research, I found Viva Chicken.... a seemingly random Peruvian Chicken stop in St. George, Utah with a ton of positive reviews! This fast casual charcoal-fire rotisserie joint, specializes in the authentic Pollo a la Brasa found on the streets of Peru. Their menu features Peruvian specialties like chicken soup, peruvian fried rice, and lomo saltado. They also have sandwiches, wraps, dessert, and signature juices like chicha morada. I didn't have the chicha morada here, but had it before and recommend trying it for a unique drink! It originated in the Andes Mountains and is a sweet, refreshing drink made from purple corn. My family and I got a variety of different dishes like the the Pollo A La Brasa (Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken), Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Soup, and Peruvian Fried Rice. I was hoping for a bit more flavor in the chicken, but it was still good and very moist, especially the skin. All in all, it was a tasty lunch and I was glad to have a some Peruvian food again. Our food was ready quickly and we were able to sit in the very spacious dining area and enjoy our meal. I was surprised how nice and bright it was inside. I can't believe I haven't left a review for this place yet. I literally cannot drive by without stopping every time. I'm on the 15 in St. George. It's a must visit situation. Their Peruvian chicken is absolutely incredible. I'm not sure what they marinated in, but I think it's magic. Also, all of the sides are delicious and so are the fresh made juices. Been stopping by here for several years never been disappointed always super happy with the quality of the food and the level of service. The ambience inside the place is fine. It's a little loud and I always forget there's a back room that's a little bit quieter. If the big room is already full of patrons I only wish that they had more locations in the Western United States. Not sure why they only have this place in Utah and every other location is on the East Coast. Go Viva chicken keep doing your thing and I'll keep eating your delicious food :-) read more

We were in St. George for a long weekend, visiting my sister and brother-in-law. The first night, my SIL went to 'Viva Chicken' for takeout and it was some of the most delicious Peruvian food I've had the pleasure of eating. When she arrived; everything was just as ordered, and the service was great! I'd like to add that it is a very clean establishment. The Steak Saltado ($15.95) is wok seared sirloin steak w. onion, tomato, cilantro, french fries, jasmine rice finished with a flavorful brown sauce. It was the favorite for my husband and I but she also ordered the all natural, hormone-free chicken which is marinated for 24 hours in an authentic Peruvian spice blend (from founder Chef Bruno's family recipe) then roasted in a rotisserie oven over live charcoal. It was absolutely mouth watering! We also tried the cilantro rice, and the plantains. I wish they had one closer to where we live but it looks like most of their restaurants are located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Viva Chicken has been a must visit for me with every stay I have in St. George, which has been every time I visit Utah. It all started in 2021 for me, and I've remained loyal! The chicken is always a solid choice here, as it is consistently prepared and seasoned. I've found a quarter chicken is enough for me with the sides, but it really depends on how hungry I am. The sides can vary in flavour, but I've found the chicken soup and cilantro rice are consistently pretty good. I did not care for the yucca and found that the solterito and arroz gaucha were just fair. For the fries lovers, you'll be pleased! They are nicely cooked and hard to mess up! When you're asked about sauces, choose the spicy sauce. It's not really spicy, but it is delicious! The best part of a visit to Viva Chicken is the herbal limeade, though. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...the herbal limeade is YUM CITY! For what you pay, the portions are a bit small. However, the service is fast and friendly! Beware of the parking lot, though. It has been known to be small and slightly dangerous with the crazy drivers around. I've witnessed numerous close calls! Stay safe! Can be very busy at times so finding a table might be difficult. The food is delicious. The chicken is very flavorful. I think the half or whole chicken is the best bang for buck. The sides are freshly made and delicious too. I enjoyed drinking one of the fruity drinks too. The prices for a meal is about $17-$20 once you include tax. The cashier was helpful in making a suggestion on the drink, and those bringing out the food were nice. I enjoyed my experience here and would it to others. Parking directly in front may be difficult however there is ample parking behind the restaurant in almost a 2nd lot. Would recommend and I will be back. I love Peruvian food and was excited to see this place in St. George. I ordered the lomo saltado with aji and huacatay sauce, tres leches cake and a maracuya (passion fruit) juice. I paid about $27 for everything. The lomo was too salty for my liking. I'm used to it being served with jasmine rice but this was served with fried rice so everything was just salty. The sauces also had a very light hint of flavors which I'm not used to. I think I'm used to more flavors and a bit more spice. The tres leches was a bit plain and dry but I still liked it cause I'm a sweets girlie. Always love passion fruit juice. read more

I love Viva Chicken and its very flavorful food. We usually stop here when we are in St George. They specialize in Pollo A La Brasa [Peruvian Rotisserie chicken] here and offer combo meals, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. My go-to is the half chicken with 2 sides, those being plantains and Peruvian corn salad. The chicken is delicious, and it's what keeps us coming back. This is a place-your-order-and -then-find-seating kind of establishment, and it can be very busy, but we've always found seats. As I say for places that we love, please build one in Vegas. Loved this place and so do many others as it was a little crowded when we came in. Fortunately there was enough seating for a big group. A long line formed behind us at the register. All the food we tried was great. I can also appreciate places with really good fries. We got the rotisserie sandwich, steak saltado, kids fried rice, and chicha morada. One of the best fast-casual dining options I've been to recently. Tons of fresh, healthy, and delicious options at tremendous value. This review is based on a one-time visit on 9/29. There were SO MANY great-looking options on the menu, which made it hard to decide what to order. I ended up enjoying the Andina Power Food salad, which came packed with greens, edamame, bits of quinoa, almonds for some crunch, avocado, and a passionfruit dressing. I opted for a rotisserie chicken add-on, which rounded it out. The portion was HUGE and was enough for both a hearty lunch and a large pre-dinner snack. Service was quick and friendly. They deliver the food out to you and then you bus your own table. About a dozen tables and high-tops indoors. Food was really good! I ordered the half chicken with plantains and fried rice as the sides... LOVED both sides (so flavorful!) and would totally order them again. The dark meat was more flavorful and moist than the white meat but that is what it is... flavor was great and I enjoyed the mild green sauce (cilantro based?). 9/10. My daughter got the 1/4 chicken with rice and plantains. I tried a bit of hers and everything was really good. The plantains had the best flavor and were cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy! I got the Tacu bowl and it was yummy. I may pick different sauces next time but the flavor was great and I had leftovers as well for later in the night at our hotel. If I came back I'd ask for extra pickled red onion. We liked the herbal limeade as well. I placed a pick up order on Uber Eats. We stopped on the way here when driving to Vegas from Zion and I'm soooo glad we found this place! Thank you Yelpers! We're both not huge fans of rotisserie chicken, but this place does it right. I had the avocado quinoa bowl w/ added rotisserie chicken (they offer full and half sizes for this) and my husband got the chicken cheese steak sandwich, which was a seasonal/new item. The avocado quinoa came with halved avocados filled with quinoa and sauce and chicken on the side, and the sandwich came with a side (we chose their cilantro rice). Tip: definitely get their sauces on the side. I'm so glad they offered it when we were ordering. That sauce went well on everything we ate and made it that much more delicious. Some chicken pieces were dry, but the sauce made up for it. Not your traditional sit down and order restaurant. You go up to the register to order, they give you a number, and you find a table to sit at and they'll bring your order to you. You're also responsible for taking your empty plates to a tray station. I love that they offer silver utensils, made it a little more upscale compared to a fast food joint or take out place. Interior was beautifully decorated and painted, and bathrooms were immaculate. Great place to grab a meal whether you live in St.George or are stopping by on a road trip. We visited on our way back down from Zion, a bit fatigued from the sandwiches, burgers, and burritos that most places seem to offer. The menu is well-priced, portioned just right, and tastes clean yet satisfying. We got the Sopa de Pollo (chicken soup) and half chicken plate. The soup was clean yet still hearty with lots of pulled chicken, rice, and veggies. The half chicken was juicy and tender, and I liked that we could easily swap for all dark meat for free (all white meat has a surcharge). We enjoyed the sides too: crispy french fries had a nice light and crispy batter, and the green beans were a sleeper hit -- thin and tender (my fave) sautéed with a Asian-style glaze. Kept my word. Staying in Ivins at the Black Desert Resort. Made it a point to drive down for dinner. Family of four; ordered the Half Chicken, beans, corn salad, plantains, and steak saltado. Portions were enough if not more than enough. We had to wait off to the side to secure a table - that's how popular/busy it was. Friendly service, restaurant on top of keeping the place clean, felt chaotic and loud but I guess that's part of the ambiance.
