Food was delicious! As for being newly vegan, I can say the tacos were much relatable to authentic street tacos! The chimichanga was also delicious but I wouldn't quite consider it a chimichanga, it had more of a wet burrito style, but still delicious. I will definitely be coming back to give the other entrees a try as well as my new go to tacos! If I can make a suggestion, I really wished they offered chips with the salsa. Both the salsas were terrific, the verde and rojo. Overall, this restaurant was excellent, food is amazing and pricing is reasonable. They do have good idea food items! The carne asada tacos are very yummy, BUT every time I go, they either are out of something or it's not fresh. Last time, we ordered chips and salsa and it was not freshly made. The chips were hard and the salsa was already bad. They did give us a new salsa but I do notice they don't keep their food heated? Even the tacos seems hard or cold. I hope they make these changes because the pozole is good too, but again, it's gotten to the point I don't look forward to it because it's not fresh. Once again, amazed by the quality and flavors of Viva Vegan. The service was incredible as always! I always feel so welcomed here. I got the asada tacos again and apparently their blender wasn't working to make the green sauce so they generously made me an entire bowl of guac to go with my tacos (some of the best guac i've had). I'm so appreciative, and now I'm obsessed with their guac! This also shows how they make things fresh for their customers, and I really love that. Customer service is really lovely here. The inside is spacious and comfortable. I've been a couple times now and I just absolutely love this food option for vegan Mexican dishes. The menu is large with a lot of options. My fiancé got the birria melt which he kept raving about. They have a taco Tuesday deal of one free taco in addition to the trio plate on Tuesday's which is what I got. Their rice and beans are okay, the beans had a kick to them. But overall I'd rate them a 4.5/5, hope they continue staying in business! read more

First of all, let me tell you the food is good, but the reason that they're only getting two stars for me is because the customer service sucks now I walked in. There was only one person eating at a table and nobody was in the front so I went to the restroom when I came back out of the restroom. There was a person standing in line, and there was still nobody helping him, the person then told me to go in front of him. because I was here first and he still hadn't decided on what he wanted so I told him OK thank you and then I stepped to the front and the person that was running the cashier still wasn't there after about five minutes he finally came out and took my order While I was sitting down, waiting for my order, the gentleman that told me to go ahead of him waited an additional 10 minutes for him to even order his food because the gentleman that was running the cash register disappeared to the back and then after that there was about three more people came in and they waited an additional 10 minutes by the time my food came. I decided to finally give this place a try on February 22, 2023, for dinner and boy did I dislike the Nashville burger that was made with mushrooms. I couldn't wait to take a bite, however, it wasn't what I expected. With that being said,  I decided to give it a chance. I took several more bites until I could pull the mushroom apart to even try to suck it down. I finally opened up the burger to inspect the mushroom. Well, I found it impossible to rip it apart.  I couldn't even stick my nail into the mushroom. Lets not mention it was suppose to come with a bed of coleslaw. Dang did they mean a tsp. The only great experience I had was chating with another customer who informed that their mac n cheese was good along with their cauliflower wings. All I can say for now is I couldn't wait to try this place. But left sadly disappointed. Sorry for the two gross pictures. read more

I do NOT recommend this restaurant. They are always out of items everytime we go. Online shows different menus as well. Today we went there for lunch. My husband ordered the Philly sandwich and fries meal and I was trying the taquitos. When we got our order, it only had the taquito plate in bag. my husband went up to counter and was told they had no fries, so he said ok. I'll take the sandwich. Then was told a few minutes later no bread. My husband ended up with nothing. It's always the same everytime. never have what "meat" we want etc. And I do not recommend the taquitos. Barely and filling, way over cooked. Beans no flavor. Just not great. Sadly. We are vegan and do not have many options. Sadly we had high hopes and we disappointed again. We will NOT be back. Amazing food first and foremost. I'm not veggie, vegan or plant based. My partner is so I like to be accommodating and also a bit adventurous. She is based in LA and has been at this for a while. So when she comes to the IE I want to find something to eat worth her time. We found that in spades at Viva Vegan Diner. The menu is extensive and varied. A lot to choose from and all looked amazing. I had the Ciabatta Chikin Burger with fries. Awesome! It all came together so well and I finished every last bite! My partner had a 3 taco plate, asada,birria, and oyster mushroom. All three were great!!! I didn't get a chance to try the rice and beans as it was already gone when I got to it so that's probably a good sign! Lastly, the cherry on top was Mr. Tony Love! Calm, chill dude and very very nice to us! He referred to us as "you yunngins" which was sweet as we are starting to silver and age so well! Nice touch! My only real critique of this place would be these 2 things: print the menu a bit bigger for this "yunngin" to see without trouble and turn the music down a touch ( which they did so very nice of them! If only they had a negative star option. Was soooo excited to check this place out. Happened to be in the area today so I drove over. Immediately walking in, you see a 10 year old girl taking customer orders, totally took me by surprise but she seemed to be mature for her age. As I walked up with my mask on to place my order with her, I was super pleasant but I noticed she kept reinforcing the nose part of her already dirty mask. Being Asian decent, I kinda took offense to it. I sat down and watched a few other people order and she didn't feel the need to adjust her mask like she did with me. Shortly after, I noticed her taking more orders with her mask completely off. Just so completely disappointed that a 10 year old was already judging me by having Asian looking eyes. After 40 mins of being frustrated waiting for my order, A woman I would assume would be the little girls mother approached me while I asked the status of my order. Apparently they had ran out of birria to make my tacos and would take another 7 more mins. I asked if they had already made the rest of my order so she walked back and grabbed it. In the midst of her bringing me the rest of my order, another girl hands her what I assume to be my birria tacos. She hands me the box knowing how packed it already was and continued to hand me two salsa containers. She not once apologized for the length of time it had taken to make my complete order but she didn't even offer to mend the issue by offering a complimentary drink or something or even hand me another bag to put the rest of my orders in. I had my family in the car and we just pulled over to take a bite before the food got cold. Not even 3 mins of driving away: The loaded nachos I purchased were extremely cold and tasteless besides the extreme amount of spice mixed in with the protein. It was suppose to be "carne asada" but it was just burned up Soy protein. Birria taco combo came with the consome but they forgot to give me the rice and beans. I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 chorizo taco- I would say they were pretty tasty. Better flavor than the birria. Daughter ordered the chimichanga burrito. It was just a wet burrito. It was never fried. To make matters worse, the lack of knowledge to lay a sheet of foil over the container would've prevented the sauce from seeping through the box. We had to wait to get home to eat that because the burrito was so large that had to be eaten with a fork and knife. By the time I got home the salsa had already been absorbed by the box and burritos weight broke through the box. I also purchased one pineapple and horchata drink. The pineapple was completely watered down and horchata was chalky. It was horrible. How can you mess up horchata? Needless to say, I will never come back. Maybe teach your kid or your worker to not pick and choose who to offend. To add to the already horrible experience, the other workers did not wear a mask. Although it's not mandated to wear a mask but to be a mindful business especially with the delta variant spreading, you work around food and you speak around food that can potentially spread covid. I didn't even want to take photos of their food. Just completely disappointed. read more
