I came into this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon at around 230 and the parking lot was not packed. There was not a lot of people in the restaurant either but the ambience was so nice. They have hibachi stations and then they have places where you can sit to eat if you were not doing hibachi. The waiting area is really cute too and then they have these super cute waiters that are Robots! What a beautiful atmosphere! This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I came here, because I have been waiting for weeks, for this place to open. I happened to be on a social media site, and it said that their grand opening, was today! So, here we are. When you enter, immediately you notice how open and wide the restaurant is. Bright, yet dim (if that makes since.) There are TVs every where for our entertainment. I ordered the ribeye hibachi with fried rice, my daughter ordered the chicken hibachi with fried rice, we ordered the shrimp hibachi with white rice for our 3 year old, and my husband ordered the shrimp hibachi with fried rice. My husband wanted noodles with his hibachi meal, but they did not have it. We also got the Yami 2014 roll. All hibachi meals, come with an appetizer of shrimp, soup and salad. The soup, drinks, and salad came out, within 10 minutes. The salad was soooooo good y'all. Sweet, ginger flavor. I felt the soup needed salt and pepper, and I added it. After that, it was on and Poppin (as the young kids say.) When we got seated, there were only two families, sitting at one hibachi station. So they were not busy whatsoever. We were seated for 20 minutes (at a different hibachi table,) when another family was seated with us. We waited a whole hour (hence the 4 star rating,) for the chef to come out to cook, and even longer for our sushi. The sushi was amazing. All of the freshness that you would want in sushi. All of the ingredients came together perfectly. The amount of fried rice that we got, was very small. It was absolutely less than a cup of rice. For dinner, that is really unusual. The rice was good though. I was shocked at how much rib eye steak I got!!! A huge amount. The only downfall, was that it was tough. I asked the chef, if it was ribeye, and he said yes. He said the sirloins are smaller, so that's how he knows. It was flavorful...tough, but flavorful. The vegetables was cooked perfectly. The right amount of crunch and seasoning. The shrimp was plump and delicious as well. I must say, my husband was disappointed, because he didn't get enough food. He had a little serving of rice, 10 shrimp, and a little side of vegetables. Normally, my husband doesn't finish his hibachi meals, but he did this time. It was just not enough for him. My 3 year old got more white rice, than what my husband did. My daughter's chicken was cooked just right! It was sweet and savory. Plus, she got a good amount of chicken. Overall, this place would be the bomb, if they have out bigger rice portions, a little more vegetables, and was more apt at serving in a timely manner. I would have given 5 stars, but it was opening night, and I guess they were trying to figure things out. Also, there were only two hibachi chefs. After we paid the service ( white blonde guy) then asked us for more tip rolled his eyes at us and gave us such an attitude about the amount of tip we gave him. He saw us one time for water.... We were politely taken to out table and our waitress got to us right away. She was helpful and kind. Picture perfect restaurant front. Seated immediately by the Bellabot. Food was delicious, sushi was fresh, and drinks (Sapporo saki bomb) was good. The ambiance is nice lots of lights, table spacing is good, restaurant layout is perfect, and big screen projection is a nice touch for sports fans. I also liked the fish and ocean projection on the floors. This place is definitely worth the price and is a good place for parties (which there were about 4 parties with bday) during our visit. My husband & I visited Volcano on July 28, 2024. We had visited this restaurant several times before and had been very pleased. This was not the case on July 28th. Our issue was the "seating policy". We were shown 2 seats by the server. The seats were located at the end of a table. My husband did not want to sit with his back to the open restaurant or door, so he asked the server if we could sit in the middle seating. We were told NO, because the seating started where they were trying to seat us, and the other seats would be filled as customers come in. My husband asked if the seats were reserved, again we were told NO. At this point we were trying to figure out what the issue is with us sitting where we would be most comfortable. By this time, my husband's whole mood had changed and he was no longer feeling the hibachi experience. Keep in mind, we were looking forward to visiting Volcano a few days prior. We proceeded to leave, but on our way out, my husband decided to ask to speak to the manager. The manager came over and we explained what was going on. He too stated what the server/hostess said, "this is where the seating begins". We told him, as well, we would be more comfortable sitting in the middle section. He said, we could sit there, but if another party comes in we would have to move. We were livid. The bottom line is, we were physically present and ready to drop $150-$200 for dinner, but yet the manager was banking on "what if's". Who's to say when or if that next party would come in? He allowed us to leave so easily. By the way, the restaurant was practically empty and they were so concerned with holding to their seating policy. We left and spent our hard earned money elsewhere. We came to try out the 50 percent off sushi on Mondays and it will flat of expectations. Our server was nice and the robot food delivery was cute. Rolls looked presentable but a lot of them fell short of expectation. My sister got a mango roll and we couldn't find mango in them because it was such a tiny sliver inside. We got a dragon roll with shrimp on top but the last 3 pieces appeared completely raw. The server said this was normal but it didn't put our mind at ease so we didn't eat it. We later looked up pictures and re read the menu to find that there were two different shrimp on top. If our server had said that, it would have helped the situation but instead, she didn't check in on us once and we had to flag her down to ask about the roll confusion. The sauces and sushi overall were okay but nothing special. Some of my rolls had mushy rice. There is a large TV on the wall and sitting right under it was also very straining on our eyes. As the lights and colors changed, so did the table and our friends often couldn't look at each other during the meal. 3.5 stars. read more

This was the first time my wife and I went to Volcano Steak & Sushi. We were at the Duluth, GA location. We were extremely impressed with the design and layout of this restaurant. So colorful and bright. The food was excellent! For appetizers, I had the fried gyoza, and my wife had miso soup. For our main course, we had the fried rice Volcano combo, chicken, shrimp, and steak, with added vegetables. We ordered a picture of passion fruit tea that was delicious! Bella was our server, and her service was fantastic! We will definitely be going back, and if Bella is working, we will ask to be put into her section. What a fun place! Traveling for work and decided to branch out for some sushi. We visited volcano on a Sunday night and the place was busy. Magically, we were sat right away. There was loud trendy music, giant tv screens, fish animations on the floor and fun little robots that deliver the food. Definitely more of an "dining experience". The food was very fresh, and came quickly. We ordered steamed dumplings, chicken hibachi and 2 sushi rolls and a beer. Our bill was surprisingly low considering how much food we got. $55 for everything. If you're visiting, this is definitely a fun place. There were tons of hibachi tables and people laughing.
