I will never go back. We made a reservation online which they were not even aware of.They have a very limited menu to begin with. 10 entrée. choices. Out of the 10 entrée choices only two items were available. The waitress came to our table took our orde. Two of us ordered the pork chop entree and I ordered chicken Parm. After we gave our order, the waitress came back to our table and said I'm sorry we only have two items to pick from so what you ordered we don't have. Unbelievable to say the least. How can you open up a restaurant business and you're out of everything except for two items which is a steak burger or steak. She went on to say we do have pizza and some hors d'oeuvres. However, we didn't go there for pizza. We wanted to sit down and have a very nice meal, before the show which never happened. Something is very funny here and not right. Went to Volo on Saturday night with 2 friends to see the banf and have some food. the Pizza and we enjoyed Wango Tango.The band. also had the octopus salad which was delicious. I was sad.I didn't take a picture but I did get a picture of the pizza. We enjoyed our night. .We sat on the second floor and watched the band that was on the first floor on stage. A hidden gem. Came here on a whim after we learned a friend was DJing, prior to that we had not known about it. Everything was fantastic from the service, to the ambiance, to the food. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we ordered appetizers and dinner and although the waitress stated she would put in apps first my pizza arrived well before anything else. Apps came out about 10 mins later followed promptly by my husband's dinner. Aside from this minor hiccup everything else was fantastic. We observed one of the owners checking on each table, us included. Overall a very welcoming atmosphere, with friendly service, and very clean space with fresh, great tasting Italian food. Good service. Good food. Good live entertainment. Large restaurant and bar with nice ambience. We started with cocktails from three very large bar area. Espresso martini, Paloma type cocktail and red wines. All were good with top shelf liquors. Meals were all Italian options. They do offer pizzas but my company was not in mood for pizza. Pies did look good. Chicken saltimboca, beet salad, stuffed pepper, pork chops in sauce. The food was good but portions maybe a little less than expected for Italian restaurant. We went to celebrate a friends birthday and experienced terrible service terrible food we order martinis they came half full when I questioned the manager he said that's the way it is . I ordered chicken parmigiana to keep it simple the chicken portion was small and bland tasting inedible! The server never once asked if we enjoyed our meals nor did she seem to care as she engaged in conversation with co workers the whole time ! I can honestly say I would never eat there again and with all the great other Italian restaurants in the area I have zero doubt this restaurant will be out of business soon ! read more

My wife and I had gone there this past Friday night to see your band. The music was great service was great and awesome and incredible food.

Went to Karaoke on Wednesday nite. Place was jamming. The service sucked. 5 key players, (Chef, pizza maker, bar tender and 2 servers) called out. THAT IS SENDING OUT AN SOS. People were waiting hours for their food, I didn't even receive my drink let alone place food order until at least one hour after arriving there. Our table's orders were wrong, and one of us never received hers. There were 2 new people that just started with no one to train them. Someone is walking around claiming to be the owner. And I believe "he"is the problem. His ego is BIG". I heard him mouthing out a few times. I love the place and I hate to see it suffer and go down. read more

Alright, here we go. This is a tough one because I really wanted to like this place. The owners have a spot in New Haven that's pretty great, so I had high hopes for their new location in North Haven. In my opinion, it was... okay. Not bad, just didn't quite hit the high expectations I think a lot of us had. First, the good: the service was spot on. We got a warm welcome, and they squeezed us in even though we made a reservation about 15 minutes before showing up. Points for that. The ambiance was nice too--though a little dark, like maybe they're trying to hide something? TVs had scenic videos of small Italian towns, which was a nice touch. We even got a bonus with live music from American Idol winner Nick Fradiani and his dad. The bar area looked good, which was surprising, considering it's in a strip mall. Plus, the waiter was great with our little one. Props for that. Now, for the not-so-good: There are a few popular Italian spots in North Haven, and this one came in a distant third. The food wasn't bad, just kind of... there. We ordered fried calamari, salmon, figs and prosciutto, and Tiramisu. The biggest letdown? The Tiramisu. I mean, the presentation was rough--looked like they slapped a piece onto a small white plate, no garnish, no flair, just sad. And, oh yeah, I bit into a huge piece of plastic wrap. Not a small piece--a full-on chunk. Told the waiter, who took it back (he was polite about it). When it came back, the presentation was better, and surprise, no plastic! But still, pretty average. Now listen, things happen. You bite into plastic, you laugh it off and move on. I didn't make a scene, but I gotta say, when the bill came and they still charged me for the plastic-infused Tiramisu, I was a little bummed. No apology, no "on the house," nothing. I mean, if it's your first week open, maybe comp the dessert or at least the espresso. Nope. This kinda told me that the focus isn't really on making people want to come back. So if you're heading out in North Haven, there are better options for a nice date night. Sorry, Volo, but I'd only recommend this place if you can't get into the other Italian spots down the road. Though... if they had Michael Bublé performing on a Friday night, I might give it another shot. Who knows? read more

Service was almost nonexistent. 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. Another 15 to get it. Half an hour before we got our appetizer. We had to take our napkins and utensils from another table. After an hour we asked about our dinner and were told that the kitchen was behind. We were not offered bread or another drink. Staff were nice. The vibe and music was great. But that was it. We were a party of 6. The zucchini chips came out soggy. When asked to have them replaced, they just re-fried them, and they came out burned. Meatballs tasted strange, as if they were made from chicken meat. All 5 entrees came out except mine. We waited over 5 minutes for my strip to come out. After it was placed, I noted that it was under cooked, almost raw. I decided to have it wrapped up to take home. We ordered deserts and waited almost 30 minutes. Luckily, the entertainment made the experience bearable. Maybe they were short staffed, but it was a Saturday night at 8 PM. They were kind enough to remove the desserts and my entree from the bill. read more

My friend and I decided to check out the newly opened restaurant, Volo, in North Haven. Parking was plentiful and the restaurant was easy to find even with its placement in a strip mall. We went on a Tuesday and without a reservation had no problems getting seated right away. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The space is large with plenty of seating options and an area set up for live music. The menu offers a variety of options, including traditional Italian dishes. I chose the pork chop entree which was paired with mashed potatoes and sautéed broccoli rabe. I have been on the hunt for a good pork chop and unfortunately, my search continues. The pork chop was quite dry and luckily had sauce on it which helped a little with that issue. The potatoes and broccoli rabe were cooked well and flavorful. My friend ordered the salmon entree served with roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe. She had positive things to say about her dish. I visited Volo restaurant last month in September 2025 with a party of 3. The atmosphere was great there was a DJ which added to the aesthetics. The lemon drop martinis were excellent and the food was subpar but decent. I enjoyed my visit 6/10 that night so i thought it would be a great place to have my daughter and I's birthday the following month. My fiancee booked the venue for a party of 16 my mom also confirmed with the manager Peter. The day before the event Morgan "event staff" called my fiancee stating that confirmation was never received and that she already has a 55 person party upstairs and that she would try to accommodate our party but we need to pay a deposit of $300 and that we would be charged $75 per person for a total of $1200 for a party this size. She also claims that we need to create a prefixed menu for our party. Not an issue I gave her my fiancee's credit card information and selected the menu. Hours had passed my fiancee was never charged he called the restaurant back Morgan told him that she never spoke to me and never got a deposit. "I gagged" i chimed in like morgan you didn't receive the deposit???? Morgan said, and I quote, "my bad girl, i forgot." So needless to say we took our business elsewhere but not before letting morgan know how unprofessional and unorganized the establishment has been. Now looking back that deposit and pre fixed menu ordeal was made up last minute. They must've thought that hearing those numbers would deter us since they overbooked their event space. The second time at Volo, but first time for dinner. The inside is nicely done with a beautiful bar area. I ordered the Chicken Milanese and was surprised when it was served without bread or pasta. The other people with me did not receive salads with their dinners. The serving was quite large with a lot of arugula, but few pieces of tomato. There were two large pieces of chicken, which were not irregularly shaped as most cutlets are. They were rectangular with an even thickness to each piece. I've never been to a restaurant that served chicken like this. I can only assume it was preformed, maybe by a restaurant supplier. I would expect more from an upscale Italian restaurant. I would recommend people to go to Ludals, where dinners include bread and salad for the same price. Their chicken cutlets are actually cutlets. read more

1st time visiting. 2 of us. We sat at the bar. Bartender was chatting with a customer and I get it...that's their job. But, if you have "time to lean you have time to clean." Meaning...if you're chatting or hanging out your area should be spotless. Apparently, they do not follow this rule because our area of the bar was covered in crumbs. Everyone that sits at a table or bar should be greeted with water. This way the customer does not have to ask and everyone that works there now knows that someone has that table or bar seat. We were not. Specials...who knows? The staff doesn't. Fish of the day? "I don't know...I have to check." Then the bartender left to find out. Management/chef should inform everyone in the restaurant what these are before you start working. We ordered 2 drinks, arancini appetizer, burger and chicken Milanese. A "runner" ran out our food. Bartender had no idea our food was there because they were chatting again. Utensils...who needs them...me...I do. Condiments, ketchup, salt, pepper...who needs them? Me. I want them. And I hate waiting for them while my food just sits there getting cold while you talk. The food was good. The burger was perfectly medium and the chicken was not dry. Decent size portions. Food was nothing mind blowing or fancy, but good. But, basic service was lacking. I could've made all of this at home for less than $12. You go out to be "waited on." The restaurant is very nice. Large bar, nice second floor. We've been there 4 times and the menu has changed every time. We just wanted a burger the other night and it's no longer on the menu. The filet mignon and Cornish hen are off the menu as well. If you find something you enjoy you probably won't be able to order it the next time you go. I'd go back for a pizza (if they still have it) and a drink. read more

Poor experience. Hostess seemed confused and brought us to different sections to only tell us tables were not available despite having a reservation. When we finally sat took a good 15 minutes before a waiter greeted us. Once at the table, ordered drinks, and then nothing. Empty drinks never cleared, sat and sat and sat for another 40 minutes until we were able to order food. Once food orders were placed, only 1 of 2 meals arrived. 20 minutes later we asked a different server, they found our server to tell us the food will be out soon. At that point we asked for our check as it had been 2 hours at the restaurant with minimal interaction with waitstaff and missing food. The check took awhile as well. No apologies for the delay no contact from the manager. Understandable it's a new place and kinks need to be worked out but customer service should step in when delays. Won't go back. read more

We decided to check out a friend who was performing at the new spot Volo for drinks. The restaurant is very tightly arranged & the bar was packed , so we had to stand the entire night. There were only a few people standing at that point & they had 2 bartenders behind the bar. We waited almost a half hour before the bartender even acknowledged us. They seemed more interested in serving their pals at the bar than serving new people that were coming up to the bar, As a former bartender, protocol is to serve the new people first. That is not the case at Volo. This became more evident as more people came up to be served & were treated the same way. One man became irate after waiting over 15 minutes only to see the bartender lines up 8 shot glasses for her pals at the bar. Only after he had to YELL at the bartender was he served as the manager stood by. The back up at the bar also caused the diners at the tables just 3 feet away from the bar to become upset due to having a wall of people inches away. If you are good friends with management this might be a good place to go. For others , not so much. Volo COULD be a good experience but they choose not to be due to bad management & simple lack of character. I will not be going again & would not recommend it. read more
