He also helped me with detailed and precise answers to all of my (and my mechanic's) questions. In addition to the above-and-beyond service from Gerardo, I want to mention that the Finance Director, Alex Pugliese, made the administrative part feel transparent and safe. Worst dealership I have ever worked with. Jeremias and his manager Sammy are incredibly unprofessional. I inquired about a vehicle they had for sale. Jeremias called me at 11:55 AM and through his manager Sammy we negotiated an out the door price. I made an appointment to pick up the car at 3:00 PM giving myself time to get a cashiers check for the purchase and drive down to the dealership to buy the car. Jeremias confirmed my appointment and said he would have the car detailed and ready to be picked up for when I arrived. I was able to expedite securing the funds to purchase the car and called Jeremias at 12:45 to let him know I was 10 minutes away. To my surprise he mentioned that the car I was buying was on a test drive and that he wasn't sure it would be available. To say the least, I was shocked to hear a car that I was 10 minutes from picking up and had secured an agreement to buy was now possibly no longer available. I showed up to Dublin Volvo and met Jeremias to explain why the car I was buying was out on a test drive. He stated that it was out of his hands and that there was nothing he could do. I was frustrated with the situation and returned back to work and asking Jeremias to call me once the "test drive" was done. Well no call from Jeremias so I decided to go back to Dublin Volvo and inquire about the car I was purchasing. Upon arrival I asked to speak with Sammy who said, "I'm sorry we sold the car to someone else". I reiterated to Sammy that I had made an agreement with Jeremias to buy the car and had made an appointment to purchase the vehicle, I just needed time to get a cashiers check. Sammy continued to say that they are a first come first serve dealership and that no agreement even when negotiating an OTD price is final. I asked if that was the case why didn't Jeremias ask me to make a put down a holding deposit and Sammy stated that they don't take deposits on vehicles they have on the lot. I'm incredibly shocked by this whole experience and can't believe that Volvo Dublin chose to treat a customer this way. Their business practices are very unethical and don't have the customers best interests at hand. Think twice before choosing Dublin Volvo! read more

I was in a pickle with O2 sensor not ready which caused me to fail smog check. I was bouncing around different shops. One shop asked me to replace the catalytic converters and O2 sensors. The three catalytic converters have no aftermarket units. Dealership quoted just under $6k for the parts. Plus, O2 sensors are $300 a pop. There are 4. Another $1200. $8k just for parts! Another shop, an independent Volvo shop hit it right on. They recommended me to perform a specific ECU software update at dealership. That led me to Theodore Han at Volvo Cars Dublin. He is the hero in this story. He let me drop off the car and managed to turn it around the next morning! With software update done, I was able to pass smog and get my registration renewed. Out of all the full electric cars being offered today at this price range, this one is the only vehicle that has a chance in matching up against Tesla. Unfortunately, my experience (offered by Edwin and Sammy) was a masterclass in classic, frustrating dealership tactics that completely contradicts their reputation for transparency and customer service. Here is a factual timeline of my interaction: 1. Initial Contact: I expressed clear interest in a vehicle and, before investing my time to visit, I repeatedly asked for an updated price quote via email and text. These requests were consistently ignored. Instead, I was repeatedly pressured to "just come in" to discuss the numbers. 2. The Manager's Invitation: The General Sales Manager (Sammy) personally emailed me, inviting me to give him the "opportunity to see if I can help" if we were "off on selling price." This gave me hope that a reasonable negotiation was possible. 3. The In-Person Visit: I scheduled an appointment. Upon arriving on time, my salesperson (Edwin) was unprepared and busy with other customers. I had to wait and got someone else to help me with the test drive. He flatly stated they are a "one-price store" and refused to negotiate at all. This was a complete reversal of his written offer to "make the deal work." 5. I can't say enough good things about Volvo Cars Dublin!!! Recently, my husband and I were looking to buy a car for our daughter and looked at three different dealerships in the Bay Area. Our last stop was Volvo Cars Dublin, where we found the perfect car with just the right amount of safety upgrades and mileage, but it had a pretty significant scrape on the bumper. I talked to Sammy Hermez, general sales manager, and he agreed to paint the bumper at a later date because of the significance of the scrape. That alone is enough to rave about Volvo Cars Dublin, but they've done even more since! About a month after buying the car there was a leak. I called up Sammy and he said bring it in. They found that the coolant chamber needed to be replaced. They took it to the Volkswagen dealership and paid $1600 to have this fix for us! We did not pay a penny!! Sammy said "I would not feel comfortable with your daughter driving this car in this condition."! In my opinion, this is way above and beyond the normal service that you get at other dealerships. I am so impressed with the professionalism of Sammy and the commitment to the customers that Volvo Cars Dublin has shown! I'll start with my great experiences: Service Department [Mid-2022 to Mid-2023]: I had phenomenal experiences with Volvo Dublin's service advisor Clay Pollard and the Master Techs at the time. In fact, the service and candid advice I received from Clay and his correspondence with the techs back then were so stellar, I opted to use Volvo Dublin exclusively for the continuous, albeit minor, issues with my 2018 XC60. Sadly, I no longer see Clay anymore on the service side, as he may have moved on. Parts Department [Mid-2022 to Q1 2024]: The parts department manager, Bill, is a great guy. He's professional, straight to the point, has a wealth of knowledge on the cars and their common issues / parts to be replaced, and will work with you in the fairest and prompt manner. A special order part? He remembers your name, approximately when you called, and will not forget to order the part for you. Don't let him down and ask him to place an order, and then proceed to never pick it up. My sub-par experiences: Certified Pre-Owned Sales [January 2024]: I contacted Volvo Dublin's pre-owned sales team and wanted to test drive a 2020 (or was it 2021) V60 Cross Country T5 AWD. We were looking to get my wife a newer car. The vehicle was listed as Volvo Certified Pre-Owned, subjected to a 170+ point inspection criteria. The sales experience was fine, cordial, and no pressure. However, upon the first 30 seconds of driving the car, it's immediately apparent that the steering wheel is crooked. The car has a minor pull to the left when driving speeds in excess of 20mph. This is an obvious alignment issue, so how on earth were they able to say this had gone through the Volvo Certified inspection process? What is going on back there with the techs? Service Department [Q3 2023 to Q1 2024]: My prior A+ experiences with Volvo Dublin's service team changed in a span of a year. There are now two advisors, ES and TH. ES does what he can and stays professional, even when faced with multiple questions and clarification requests from customers like me. After a while though, any follow-up issues resulting from their work performed just go into a black box. You just can't get a hold of the service advisors unless you book another follow-up appointment. TH, on the other hand, just does not care. The overall attitude is "Not my problem". Oh, you feel the quote is too extreme? "Oh sorry, it's just what it is." ES is out sick today, can you help run me through what the techs did to resolve the issue? "Yea sorry, you'd have to take it up with him, I don't really know the details." The past few times I booked a service appointment, I dread waiting to pull up, and playing the roulette to see which service advisor I'm funneled to. The final nail in the coffin is my recent, major job of a moonroof panel replacement, due to the weatherstripping being torn and damaged. This was an insurance claim, and while I had no qualms with the deductible to be paid, I then received the final quote from Volvo Dublin. The parts were charged at MSRP, which I understand. Taxes, I understand. Their labor, which I do not understand, is approximately 26% higher than the comparable regional BMW and Mercedes techs. Further insult is after retrieving my car, I noticed another new weatherstripping scratch and moonroof side chip, which was exactly why I brought in the car in the first place. Could they have accidentally scratched and torn the weatherstripping during assembly? Possibly, but I just got to move on. This level of service I received does not justify a 26% high labor rate compared to other luxury car dealerships. read more

Earlier this month I was pumping gas in a rental car before returning it to Oakland Airport when my passenger window was smashed and my purse taken. That evening I received a call from a woman telling me she found my keys and glasses (Rocky's tag w/ my phone # is attached to my keys). When she told me where she found them and gave me her address to pick them up- I didn't feel safe because of the location. Fast forward 2 weeks later: I called Volvo in Dublin (California not Ireland) to order a new one- the service manager, Jay Desai, gave me options and suggested I deactivate the one that was stolen. When I told him I knew where my key was but didn't feel safe picking it up he immediately asked me for the contact info to the woman who has them. I couldn't make it back on the day he wanted me too and i was informed that he needed 3 of my paycheck stubs after i was approved from my credit union. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I asked him for the VIN to give to my credit union and he agreed. After i didn't hear from him i called and he told me the car was sold!! WTH and he didn't have the decency to call and let me know. I wanted to really shop here but I think salespersons are judging a book by it's cover. My husband and I pulled up in our old 2000 Honda Accord and it pretty beat up and we saw a salesperson right at the window and took one look at our car and turned around. No smile no greeting nothing. Totally turned off by that. There was one salesperson with a couple and greeted us that was nice of him. We walked over to the used lot and walked around for a few minutes and no one came nothing. Then we walked over to new lot one person greeted us there and said some will be with us. They just opened this month (May 2022) and definitely looks nice but it's not fully developed so there's not an actual dealership sales section or a proper waiting area (just a temporary one for now) but they make up for it in their stellar service provided. The quickest and easiest to make an appointment. I drove from Walnut Creek to Dublin for this Volvo and I was not disappointed. The Walnut Creek Volvo dealership wins for the worst customer service ever and ridiculous lead times for an appointment, even if it's an emergency, they don't care about you. Terrible experience trying to buy a new car. I'm interested in one of the PHEV models and contacted dublin volvo. I was told by the sales representative that there was a $3k markup that was negotiable. Went in to test drive and the sales rep shared a lot of inaccurate information about the car throughout the test drive. After the test drive, the sales manager used old school car sales tactics to get me to sit down to talk numbers. Low and behold, the sales manager said there's a $7k markup PLUS mandatory add-ons from the dealer that essentially makes the markup closer to $10k. Shady practices. Unknowledgeable sales rep. The worst type of pressure cooking old school sales manager. Recommend you go to most other bay area dealers bc they're still selling at msrp (San leandro, palo alto, etc.) Dublin volvo is worse than walnut creek volvo.... at least walnut creek volvo is upfront about their price gouging. My 2016 Volvo XC90 started to have oil consumption issue in later 2021. The car needed oil change every 2k miles or so. I sent my car to the Volvo dealer in San Francisco and San Leandro but no luck. Finally it got fixed in the Volvo Dublin after a year! Special thanks to the service advisor Clay, who worked meticulously with the extended warranty company and jumped so many hoops to fulfill all the requirements and got the claim approved fully for a new engine replacement. In addition I really appreciate the loaner car during the long process of repair that kept my day to day schedule intact. It has been 2 weeks since the repair and the car drives well like new. Worst car dealership on the planet, wish I could give zero stars. Sell you a 80k dollar car and then treat you like shit. Never follow up keep your car for multiple days to do minor fixes. When you take in for warranty issues want you to agree to pay 800 dollars to look at it if deemed not warranty issue. Walnut Creek does not require this. Have had nothing but issues with my car, maintenance was not done correctly. Every time I'm at this dealership someone including myself is furious. Car depreciated in value so much even after 3 years can't sell it for what I owe. Going to take a loss just to get rid of this car. Will never purchase a VOLVO AGAIN!!! read more

Very disappointed. They were extremely careless and mixed up my car with someone else's. I was charged almost $1,000 for the 40k service, but when I went to pick it up, they gave me the wrong car. Only then did they admit they had confused the vehicles, and mine hadn't even been worked on yet. Astonishingly, just 25 minutes later, they claimed my car was ready, even though I was told this service should have taken 2 hours when I checked in! I'm not confident they actually completed the inspection. I used to go to San Leandro, but decided to try this new location, despite their prices being 20-30% higher. I won't be returning. read more

I hate the car buying process, but it was about that time to update one of our vehicles. I scoured the internet and reached out to the 7 local dealerships and 4 online car buying services that had cars that met my criteria. I knew the cash value of my trade and had my financing preapproved through my credit union. With all of that sorted. I just had to find the right folks to deal with that would not waste my time. Thankfully, Sarah Elliott at Volvo Dublin took great care of me. She was very timely in her email responses, often responding within minutes and sometimes after normal business hours. She was able to match the trade value quoted to me by the online services. When all the details were worked out, I scheduled to come in the next day. The process took about 2 hours during which time my car was detailed and charged for the drive home. Anand Patel in Financing was very personable and clear during the whole process. I appreciate Sarah and Anand. They exceeded my expectations and the whole transaction was surprisingly pleasant and efficient. I would gladly do business with them again. As six time Volvo owners we thought we would take our car in for a 40,000 mile service. A little inconvenient as they don't have loaner cars. They charged $1,200.00 for the service, on a car with no issues. This is hundreds more than we had ever paid for a 40,000 mile service on any of our Volvos, and is way more than any price you will find in an online search for the same service. This will be our one and only time taking a car there. I doubt they will last long. read more

I knew that preferring a station wagon to an SUV put me in a niche market, but I didn't realize the limited availability of certified Volvo wagons until I decided to replace my 2013 XC70 wagon with a later model. Other local Volvo dealers explained to me the limited production of such cars and the resulting scarcity of pre-owned ones. Dublin on the other hand had several cars available (their manager Sammy is a fellow wagon-enthusiast) including one that was a good match for my preferences. The salesperson we worked with, Jay Abad, was helpful in many ways, including patiently explaining the new features and negotiating an excellent trade-in on our old car.
