I am extremely disappointed with this dealership. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle and shortly after taking it home, I discovered that the battery would not hold a charge. Instead of enjoying my new vehicle, I was immediately dealing with repairs and unexpected expenses. I ended up having to purchase a brand-new battery out of my own pocket, something that should have been caught and addressed before the vehicle was sold. This raises serious concerns about the quality of their inspections and how they prepare their used cars for sale. Buying a vehicle is a major investment, and customers should be able to trust that basic issues like a failing battery have been properly checked. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a pre-owned vehicle. Shop elsewhere and have any vehicle independently inspected before buying. read more

I'm beginning to seriously question the business practices at this dealership. After purchasing THREE vehicles here, my family and I have experienced problems with every single one. First, my daughter purchased a 2021 Jetta. Within about four months, the check-engine light came on. That's concerning for a vehicle purchased from a dealership where you expect the car to have been properly inspected before being sold. Second, I purchased a 2024 ID.4 and brought it in for scheduled service. I PAID for the service, yet the vehicle still says the service needs to be performed. When I called, I was told I have to drive all the way back to Dublin just to have it corrected/reset. Why wasn't this handled properly the first time? The third vehicle is the most troubling. I purchased a 2024 Atlas that I believed had no prior accident history. After recently being rear-ended, the insurance adjuster provided information indicating the vehicle had apparently been involved in an accident BEFORE I purchased it. This was never disclosed to me. If confirmed, that means I purchased a vehicle that potentially already had diminished value without knowing it. Three vehicles. Three headaches. I'm not telling anyone not to purchase a vehicle here, but I am telling potential customers to be extremely careful, ask questions, review the vehicle history yourself, and document everything. At this point, I believe management needs to take a serious look at how vehicles are inspected, serviced, represented, and disclosed to customers. After purchasing three vehicles here, I expected a much higher level of transparency, quality control, and customer service. Trust is earned--and right now, mine is gone. read more

Nice people with sales-predatory tendencies! Do not trust Herman, the office manager or person in charge of finance - seemingly nice people who do not have your best interests. Here are three major reasons to be leary of VW Dublin. rate First, I arrived with a pre-approved 5-year loan at a 4.99 percent interest rate and left with a 6-year loan and 5.50ish interest. They did not clean the car, and I did not notice it until I arrived home. As a teacher of 29 years, I always operate with the students' best interest. I clearly made the mistake of believing that I could trust VW Dublin staff not to violate my non-negotiables. When I was presented with the final monthly payment, I was under the impression that it would be over 5 years and did not consider computing numbers - I made the mistake of trusting them. Second, I was told that the car was being "prepared" for me to take home. While I was signing papers, Herman walked up and said that for $20 extra per month, I was under the impression that I was signing up for a 5-year loan and that the car would be washed of the sticky, dried-up chemicals on the hood and front grill. Essentially, the "top-notch interior and exterior detail would be an "enhancement" to an already washed/clean car. After signing, Herman graciously walked me to the service department to schedule the "detail." It was there that I learned that I could not redeem the detail service at any VW dealer and was told to essentially suck it up, buttercup; you already agreed and signed the contract. Initially, Herman told me that I could drop off the car and would be issued a loaner, BUT the Service guy said that I would have to wait for 5-8 hours in the lobby, NO loaner. Herman whispered, "I will try to get you into something." When I got home, I noticed that the front was not washed, and it was quite the sticky substance. Shame on me for not checking! Shame on me for trusting VW Dublin. Shame on VW Dublin for the subpar predatory customer service. Third, I was ushered to the car, congratulated, and it was not until late at night that I realized that I was NOT given a copy of the sales contract. I made the mistake of telling Herman that I was wrapping up summer school and needed to return home to grade. read more

To be fair the junior sales person was doing his best to sell us the car but his manager was playing the old and tired delay tactics to keep us waiting for a simple trade in price that shouldn't take more than a few minutes. I walked by his office and noticed that he wasn't even on the case and was just playing with his little mister. I told them that I'll leave after 30 minutes if they can't provide a number and I promptly did so. Bought another car at another dealership for a better price and much better treatment. Unnecessarily Adversarial and Contentious It took over an hour to answer a simple question for a cash purchase budget: what is the best out-the-door price, with no up-selling at the finance department, beyond a disingenuous, "We can knock off a couple of hundred bucks?" If one wishes to avoid a points hit from a wholly moot credit check as a cash purchase without argumentative discourtesy and being called "Hostile," shop elsewhere in my opinion. Then, the man in finance said he wasn't going to upsell an extended warranty but had to explain warranties did exactly the opposite; he tried to upsell extended warranties by saying just the opposite of what sales claimed insofar how great the vehicle being purchased is; "They leak oil" and have all kinds of problems, and etceteras. He raised his voice and tried to be intimidating after making false claims about me not liking finance. I just didn't want more costs being added to a strict budget. The simple fact was that the timeline on the rental had expired, and it was critical to replace the prior vehicle to get back to work. Plus the vehicle to be purchased was the best version of it found in over two weeks of searching. We were out of time, and tolerating the very unpleasant experience was the price paid to just get out and away from "Dublin Volkswagen is your VW dealership serving the Bay Area." Fine cars just be ready for standard used car salesman tactics. First indication, sticker price on the car we liked was $25,999 and as soon as we went into the office they said the sticker price is actually $26,999 and wouldn't respect the original offered price. Also first salesman told us 2 keys and then when we went in to buy they said there was only one for that car and we had to fight them to "go find the second key." They will eventually take off most of the add on scams but very pushy. Only started to budge when we threatened to walk and I eventually gave up on the $389 vin etch on our EV even when I asked multiple times. Just do your research and know what you want. read more

I recently purchased a used 23 Tiguan from this dealership and strongly do not recommend them to anyone based on my experience. During negotiations, I had to fight to get a full key -- they initially tried to give me only the key fob without the physical key blade. When they called to schedule the key programming appointment, they tried to charge me $50 for the "free" key. The guy in the office also would not stop trying to sell me a warranty even after I told him many times I did not want it. I had to threaten to walk out on the deal just to get him to stop. I verbally asked them to order a front license plate bracket. I did not authorize installation or drilling. While the car was back for key programming, they drilled holes in the front bumper and installed the bracket without my consent. I talked to the sales manager and their general manager Angel about the issue, but this unauthorized damage to my nearly new car has not been addressed -- they are not offering any sort of fix. Get everything in writing and inspect your vehicle carefully after any service. I would not recommend this dealership. read more

I bought the car ahead of a road trip but was almost unable to use it because the cleaning the sales rep told me that car was scheduled for (that I was willing to skip) was actually a repair and I was not able to pick it up after I paid. Anytime you ask two people the same question about the car you get different STORIES. Came in on weekend and it was busy, sat there for like 6 hours. I suspect (unsure) I was skipped for pointing out some mistakes in the paperwork rather than just signing it. Then I was rushed to hurry up and sign lol bc they were closing and I was the last one My next car purchase via Tesla's used car site was 10x better. Would not recommend this place. read more

(This review is specifically about service, not purchasing a car) I'd recently purchased a 2013 Volkswagen Golf at a different used car dealership, and wanted to bring it in with some concerns. I left a message on the machine, but they called me back within a couple hours. The person on the phone, Charlie, was very attentive in listening to the things I wanted checked. He was able to get me in for an appointment the next morning. When I brought it in, I wasn't kept waiting and we looked at my car and he looked at all of my concerns. Charlie understood my budget and helped me prioritize adjustments so I'd be financially ok. It was even ready within 24 hours! When I dropped it off, the dealership even paid for my Lyft home so I wouldn't have to take the bus. Had a very good experience here, will be back for future car repairs :) read more

The service department is a rip off, I believe very so. Got a nail on my tire, they said they don't repair tire and is not recommended, he didn't even go outside to my car a looked. Just suggest i buy a new tire. And maybe after buying a single new tire they probably recommended 4 new tire so that all balance out and new break pad. We purchased a used Audi Q3 based largely on the salesperson Gabriel's repeated assurances that the car included Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which was a key feature for us. Later, we found out the vehicle did not have this feature. When confronted, Gabriel first admitted he had assumed the car had ACC but then denied ever making those claims. Despite raising this issue, we received no real compensation and the sales management took no action. We feel misled and disappointed. I recently purchased a 2021 ID.4 and was excited to join the EV movement, but my experience has been filled with disappointment from day one. During the test drive, I noticed the backup camera looked off. The sales rep assured me, "Don't worry, we'll take care of that." There was also a check engine light on, which I was again told would be fixed after purchase. Fast forward to now--neither issue has been addressed. Then there's the driver-side visor. It doesn't stay up, swings down, and hits me in the head while I'm driving--definitely not safe. I brought the car in for the special detailing and coating that came with the purchase, and asked again about the visor and camera. That's when I was told the vehicle was sold "as is," and none of the issues would be fixed. Add to that the unreliable Apple CarPlay. I was told there were minor glitches--turns out it disconnects five times during a 15-minute commute. My calls and music constantly drop. Had I known it was this bad, I would have considered a newer model or a different car altogether. But here's the kicker--I just received a letter from the IRS saying congratulations on using my clean vehicle tax credit toward my purchase. Excuse me? I was told this was a Volkswagen rebate and had no idea it was coming from my personal IRS tax credit. I feel completely misled. Bottom line: I feel duped. I bought a car with unresolved issues, unreliable tech, and a tax situation I was not fully informed about. I've purchased from this dealership before, but this experience has destroyed my trust. Volkswagen--you can do better. If you care about customer loyalty, I suggest you start with making this right. read more

I must admit, I was very upset when I realized that I had purchased optional services- like GAP insurance, extended warrantee, extra vehicle coverage ect. But, I went back to the dealership and they removed the charges with out a fuzz or hesitation. That was quit a surprise! The service that I received was outstanding and professional, and the salesman Tamem was extremely knowledgeable about Teslas. So I have never gone to get my vehicles serviced at dealerships before because I've always relied on my local mechanics to help me with whatever I needed when I lived in SoCal. Not only were they significantly cheaper but I had become friends with them. However luckily we got a maintenance package that covered us for all the services up to 50k miles so I was forced to go to this dealership. Charlie usually helps me out with service stuff, but today Kyle did and they are both informative, friendly, and just overall awesome. On the phone, Brian in the parts department was equally helpful. The prices are pretty reasonable for a dealership and even though my maintenance package is done, I will continue going here and referring friends! read more

Excellent buying experience. Got an ID 4 from Joelle, their Internet salesperson. She was amazing. Their website allowed me to select the car, choose my options, and see the lease price. I took Amtrak to Dublin (a block or two away at the BART station) to get this car. I was a bit nervous but the lease payment came out to the exact dollar that the website quoted. I was in and out of there in a little over an hour. Two tips: the earlier in the day you go, the better. Afternoons get busy. To see lease prices on their website, click "Buy now" on one of their cars (it'll ask you for your name and email). When I bought the ID.4, almost 4 years ago, the overall experience what quite good. Friendly and knowledgeable service including fully charged and washed car after each service appointment. The last 2 years have been a not so good at all. No more car wash, charging or loaner cars is being offered. My car hasn't gotten any OTA update for the last 2 years. I spoke to VW Corporate they told me that the car dealer has to help me with this and should update the software. My car dealer response to this is that they don't do this, or that they can't do it, or that the car has the latest software. In addition, my tire pressure sensor has been malfunctioning over the last year and I have scheduled 2 service appointments. All they did was pumping air into the tire and reset the tire settings. After a few days I get the same error message. I asked them to replace the sensor which they won't because in their opinion the sensor is just fine. Go figure. When I told them that I am not satisfied with this they don't even pretend to be sorry. WOW. I will sell the car immediately when my daughter is going to college in 3 months. My wife and I drive a Lucid and MB EQS. Both shops have excellent service and provide loaner cars and they do wash and fully charge the car as well. I can't not recommend Dublin Volkswagen. If you want to buy a VW try a different dealer which might spare you this kind of headache. read more

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! Coming from someone who recently purchased a used vehicle from here, I am highly disappointed in almost every aspect of this place. To be fair, I was given several red flags from the beginning--misinformation about vehicles/service time, sales reps caught smoking in the parking lot while I waited on hold, and Omar (general manager) being the epitome of everything bad you can expect from a car salesman. They wanted me to purchase a car on the spot before it was finished with servicing, but they promised it would be done and ready to go within two days max. Good thing I didn't buy it at this point, because I later was told that they found several significant problems with the vehicle and weren't able to move forward with the sale. I can't imagine the position I would be in if I had trusted what they originally promised me. At this point, I had been waiting on them for several weeks and was desperate to purchase a vehicle. Unfortunately I ended up buying a different one, and less than 100 miles into driving it, the check engine light turned on and I am now dealing with servicing a vehicle I JUST bought. Pathetic. UPDATE: Significant and costly issues were found with the vehicle, specifically the brakes. Some of the issues were covered under CPO warranty, but the brakes were not. I spoke directly to Emily at VW Dublin to express concern about the brakes, and she told me that it was acceptable for them to sell vehicles with this existing problem (without disclosing it upon sale). Therefore, she was unwilling to further cooperate with any of my requests for help. I've been assured by several surrounding VW dealerships that it is NOT standard or acceptable for them to have sold this car in the condition it was in. read more

Awful experience getting a car here. I know dealerships can be stressful places but this was truly awful. Worked with one of their finance guys John. He took me to see the car and kept saying it wasn't his job but no one else was there (not true he could have had a salesperson show me) and seemed irritated from the beginning. He also made little comments about my car search like I was looking at too many cars and it was overboard and no wonder I hadn't found a car. Kept handing over papers for me to sign BEFORE going over all financial info, kept skirting around why the car had been there so long and about its past accident. Also had multiple sales people saying congrats when I was just inquiring about the car and had not said I wanted to purchase. I left after feeling pressured to quickly sign, then after thinking came back the next day so I could drive it again. He also wouldn't let me take the paper with the price breakdown of the vehicle and carfax or warranty info packet to look over the coverage, shady. He was immediately irritable and hard to work with. He avoided questions like how many keys the car came with and was relentless about trying to get me to purchase the warranty. Also had to repeatedly ask for the car to be cleaned (crumbs on the seats, dust, and a stain on the roof) and it was like pulling teeth. I love my car and glad I dealt with this place to get it. Update to my last two star review. Well, wouldn't you know it gets worse?!! So, turns out Dublin VW failed to complete/submit the proper paperwork for me to receive my vehicle license plate. After more than three months I realized my temporary plate was expired. I called the DMV and was advised I had to physically go to a branch to have the paperwork corrected. So, I spent almost three hours at the DMV because of someone else's error. Cherry on the top of my not so great experience. I recently bought used Tesla from Dublin Volkswagen. After only having for a few months, I'm now having to change out my brakes and replace two tires.. my air filter was extremely dirty. The car was previously owned by a dog owner every single time I had to use the AC or the heater I get this strong dog odor smell so I decided to check the filter. Below you can see how disgusting and dirty the filter looks as if it have never been replaced. I don't recommend buying a used car from this location. I recommend taking the car to a mechanic to get a second opinion. Lesson learnt. I'm now finding more things wrong with the vehicle. read more

We had an extremely upsetting experience at Dublin Volkswagen recently when getting servicing on our car. We bought our car here in February 2023 and didn't have any problems. We've also got a previous servicing done after purchasing and had no issues. My husband scheduled for a 20k servicing. When I got there, there were 3-4 guys talking amongst each other and no one even looked up, said hello or acknowledged me. I stood there awkwardly until someone said hi can I help you a long 5 min later. Bowe Blanyer asked me what I was here for I told him 20k servicing and also that my sensors were not working so those needed to be checked. I also asked if they could possibly wash my car and charge it if they had time. He verified my phone number and address and then had me sign one place and initial another place. He said he'd call with an update and organized my Lyft ride back home. He called explaining that the sensor was broken because of possibly a rock chip. He told me it would cost $700 something for the part and labor to fix it. I said I'll hold off and I'll discuss with my husband. My husband called and spoke to Bowe Blanyer about the quote for more details. My husband went to pick up the car and speak with Bowe. He decided not to proceed with the quote since it was quite high. Bowe told my husband that we owed $160 for a diagnostic charge. My husband was confused. I was not told of any charges when I signed the paperwork, so I didn't tell my husband of any charge either. My husband called me to ask about it and I explained that I was not aware of any charges and no one had said anything that we were to pay for a diagnostic charge. I heard Bowe Blanyer say in the background on the phone "your wife is a liar. She saw the $160 charge and asked what it was and I explained it." He kept insisting that I was lying. I was VERY offended and upset that Bowe Blanyer accused me of lying. Bowe did not tell me about any charges, I did not see ANY charges where I initialed and signed so there's absolutely NO WAY that I could've questioned and asked him about the charge. If he had mentioned a charge, I would've called my husband immediately to double check before agreeing because he was the one who made the appointment. My husband asked to speak to the manager who was also VERY rude. The manager also accused me of lying and out of frustration told my husband to take the car and leave and under his breath said "SUCH LIARS." It's safe to say that we will never be going there and will never recommend anyone to go there. My husband and I have very clear communication and I am not a liar. I wanted to update after my Audi was returned with a brand new windshield. Yay! Update to 4.5 stars! Short version recap:Purchased a "new to me" used Audi Q7 -- Just before driving away, with all price stickers off the the window, a crack in the windshield not obvious before.. Omar (general manager) said that would never have been on the lot and personally said he would handle getting a new windshield. Rayyon was my sales rep and was patient and didn't try to force a sale which is much appreciated. I called the following Monday to bring in, no windshield ordered.. bring back next Monday.. service department was great.. they knew nothing about it, but tried to help out and seemed happy to help out. Turns out nothing was ordered; I spoke with Omar and it's ordered now.. need a week, bring back next Monday (it's Labor Day), service is closed but worked with baseball and driving back to Dublin. Was told it would be done in 2-3 days. Gave an extra day and called on Friday. Omar said it was done but rain sensors didn't work. Rayyon said it still had a crack. Communication was poor both to me as a customer and apparently in house. I do feel like this family owned location will do their best to accommodate the customer. The few calls to service were all very pleasant and each time tried very hard to find answers for me.My sales person Rayyon was kind and the general manager, Omar, did more than most would in personally following through. While I did get the window, it wasn't done on the date expected, the loaner car had minor irritating issues and got a new loaner when mine wasn't ready after driving back to Dubin twice, which finally led to getting my own car back (3 weeks later). Upon pick up, the window was so dirty I almost had an accident as the sun setting hit the windshield, but was told not to clean it for 45 hours.. so it sat in the drive way.. I appreciate the efforts here.. they do want the customer to be happy and buying was a good experience, service seems legit and the general manager Omar, is a down to earth guy that really looks out for the customer.. just need to up the communication all around and it would be 5 stars. read more
